It was a dark night in New York City and most of the city's residents were fast asleep at their homes, that is except for seven people who had gathered in an abandoned warehouse on the docks, albeit for different reasons.

"Okay, we're here." Kat commented as she lead the other heroes onto the rooftop, by now the group were all in their early twenties and had been operating as Superheroes for a little under two years, Katrina Sheng Lao, known as Kat to her friends and family, still operated under the guise of the Chinese American Hero Dragon Girl. "Guess you can't beat the classics, even if you're an escaped Supervillain." Kat added before ordering her wings to retract and taking a moment to fix her braided shoulder length black hair.

"Are you sure you don't want to wait for back-up." Yuriko Koboyashi, known as Yuri to her friends and family and the Japanese-American hero Silent Tempest, asked as she glanced over at the taller girl. "Hellraiser would be difficult enough on his own but Shockwave and Target as well?" Yuri added before brushing some of her waist length black hair with green streaks over her shoulder.

"If we wait for backup then that just raises the chances of them getting away." Marco Gordano, otherwise known as the Italian American hero Mental Boy and Kat's boyfriend, shook his head before he locked eyes with the strange device the villains were standing in front of. "That must be the thing they stole from SHIELD, how three notorious villains pulled that off I'll never know."

"Either way, I think it's in our best interest to bring them to justice, Cap never really explained what that thing does during the debriefing, but I'd rather not find out." Ehsan Sayegh, otherwise known as the Syrian Hero Earthshaker, responded with a frown before he and Marco got on their gliders. "See you girls on the other side."

"That's my line." Kat protested before letting out an annoyed huff as they went into the building. "You'd have thought they'd have heard of ladies first by now Yuri."

"Tell me about it." Yuri responded with a grin before the two young women took flight and followed their boyfriends into the warehouse. "Stop right there!" Yuri called out to the three villains who looked up.

"You really think we're about to take orders from you." The demonic biker known as Hellraiser commented as he turned to the heroes. "Soon as we get this bad boy up and running, we'll be home free!"

"And there's nothing you can do about it." The electrical Supervillain known as Shockwave, otherwise known as Jessica Andrews, added with a coy smile. "But I will miss our time together Kat! Get that thing powered up, now!" Jessica ordered the kidnapped scientists and engineers who gulped before powering up the machine causing a portal to open up behind the villains. "What is it you like to say Kat? See you on the other side?"

"Not this time." The mysterious villain known as Target responded before he opened fire on the heroes with one of his guns, the heroes easily dodged out of the way but by the time they looked up the three villains were gone.

"Where did they go?" Kat asked as she looked around and one of the engineers spoke up.

"Through that portal, I can keep it open just long enough for you to follow them but it's a one way trip." The engineer responded and the three heroes shared a look. "Keep in mind, its' not guaranteed that you'll end up in the same place."

"Mom's going to kill me for this." Kat sighed before the heroes charged into the portal.

*minutes later*

Yuri was the first one to emerge from the portal and found herself atop a rooftop, the Japanese woman span around but found the portal has closed behind her.

"Kat? Marco? Ehsan?" Yuri called out but got no answer, she let out a deep breath once she realized that she was alone and looked around. "This place looks nothing like New York, where the hell did that portal take me?!" Yuri thought before taking in the scenery around her and getting her phone out. "Good, going through the portal doesn't seem to have damaged my phone, maybe I can still get some signal out here?" Yuri thought before accessing the internet.

The first thing she came across was a video of a News Report from the Daily Planet which she could only guess was the city's major newspaper, Yuri hit play before sitting on the edge of a roof. "In today's top story, Metallo has escaped from prison and is at large, however Superman is on the case as we speak and hopes to bring the metallic villain to justice."

"Well, at least I won't get bored here, I guess." Yuri thought before standing up, the rooftop she was on had a skylight and she used that to look at her reflection. "Good, I'm still in the Silent Tempest costume." Yuri thought as she looked over her costume, it was emerald green for the most part and consisted of a crop top and pants though her mask was based on a Japanese deity. "I could stay up here all day and look at my reflection or I could go see what the Supervillains here are like." Yuri thought as she started to fly. "Hopefully this Superman guy isn't as egotistical as his name suggests." Yuri thought before flying off.

*later*

It took her the better half of an hour to fly around the city, largely because Yuri wasn't familiar with the layout, but when Yuri heard the telltale sound of a bank alarm going off nearby, she knew she was on the right track.

"Part of me wants to go in there and kick some ass, just like old times." Yuri thought as she landed on a rooftop opposite the bank, seconds later a dozen armed robbers emerged from the bank and she frowned. "And I made the right call! I'm not bulletproof and if I tried to take on that many guys at once, it wouldn't be long until they turned me into swiss cheese, besides if this Superman does show up, I can get an idea of what the heroes here are like."

"Get the loot into the van!" The leader called out to his men as they carried out bags of money. "Superman will be here any minute and…..."

"You called?" A new voice rang out and almost on cue Superman landed in front of them with his arms crossed. "Where's Metallo?"

"Open fire!" The leader called out and the men started firing their guns.

"Wow, and I thought Ehsan was jacked!" Yuri thought with a low whistle as she looked over Superman's body, when she saw the bullets bounce off Superman's chest harmlessly, she had to stop herself. "Is he wearing Kevlar? No, the bullets wouldn't bounce off like that if he was, maybe I can leave this too him?" Yuri thought as she watched Superman make short work of the criminals.

"I'll ask you again." Superman said as he picked up the leader. "Where's Metallo."

"Right behind you." A new voice rang out and Superman's eyes widened before he was hit with a green energy blast from behind sending him flying, seconds later the cyborg Supervillain known as Metallo emerged from the bank with a sadistic grin on his face. "Been a long time since I got the jump on you Superman, I plan to make this count!" Metallo added before firing another blast at Superman causing him to cry out in pain.

"Well, if this wasn't a sign that I need to get in the action, I don't know what is." Yuri thought before flying into action, she formed a huge first made of air with her powers and threw it right at Metallo. "Hey, Brave Little Toaster, I got something for you!"

"What?!" Metallo demanded before the fist connected with his face sending him flying into a nearby building, when Metallo emerged from the rubble he saw Yuri hovering above the ground in front of him. "Who are you?!"

"You can call me Silent Tempest." Yuri responded before she flew right at Metallo. "And like it or not, I'm taking you down Metallo!"

"You can certainly try!" Metallo responded before he charged at Yuri and they both threw punches at each other's faces, unfortunately for Yuri her punch barely had any effect on Metallo whilst his punch sent her flying backwards.

"Okay, this guy hits like a truck, good to know." Yuri thought as she steadied herself in the air and rubbed her aching chin. "Also, since my dad is a doctor and all, you'd think I'd know better than to punch metal!" Yuri thought before throwing another air punch though this time Metallo was ready for it as he caught the punch, whilst that was going on Superman was contacting the Watchtower via his earpiece.

"Superman, Green Lantern is on his way to assist you and this Silent Tempest as we speak." J'onn J'onzz informed Superman as he got back to his feet. "He'll be there in minutes."

"We don't have minutes, frankly I don't know how long she can keep this up." Superman responded before Metallo fired another blast at him.

"Don't think I've forgotten about you." Metallo sneered as he got ready to blast Superman again. "And once I've dealt with this pest, I will kill you Superman!"

"Who are you calling a pest?!" Yuri demanded before she tried to suspend Metallo with a tornado, but it had little effect as the cyborg stayed close to Superman. "It's obvious that something is weakening Superman but what?" Yuri thought before she locked eyes with the Kryptonite. "Off course, that's gotta be it! I just have to remove that glowing green rock somehow."

"It won't take long Superman." Metallo taunted him as he picked up Superman's prone form. "But don't worry, your death will not…." Metallo trailed off as Yuri threw a wind hand directly at his chest which clutched it's hand around the Kryptonite. "Did you really think it'd be that easy?!" Metallo demanded before firing a blast at Yuri which sent her flying back first against a wall.

"Okay, that hurt, a lot." Yuri thought as she peeled herself off the wall and saw Metallo approaching her. "I guess this is how Sarah Connor felt in the first few Terminator films."

"I would say that it's a pity that your superhero career was cut so short." Metallo taunted Yuri before preparing to blast her at point blank range. "But I'd be…." Metallo never finished his sentence as Superman sucker punched him from behind sending him flying.

"Now's my chance." Yuri thought as she saw Metallo standing up and used another wind hand to grab onto the kryptonite and yank it out of his chest, just as she predicted the cyborg powered down and the kryptonite was caught in a ball of green energy by Green Lantern.

*later*

Metallo was well on his way back to jail by this point and the press was busy interviewing Superman about the fight, as for Yuri?

"Do I really want to get involved in this?" Yuri thought as she watched the mini press conference being conducted by Superman. "All I did was get involved in his fight, I bet he won't even bother calling me up."

"Yes, Metallo was defeated but if it weren't for the intervention of a young hero, the fight would've gone very differently," Superman told the crowd before motioning to Yuri. "And for that, I am grateful to Silent Tempest, whoever she is."

"Or not." Yuri thought as the crowd of reporters approached her, she was unprepared for the questions but answered them to the best of her ability, all except one.

"Silent Tempest, where exactly did you come from?" A male reporter asked, and Yuri froze. "Star City, Gotham, Metropolis? And why hasn't anyone heard of you before?"

"I'd rather not say." Yuri responded after a moment's hesitation but that only led to more questions along those lines from the reporters. "Open mouth, insert foot."

"That's enough questions for today." Superman informed the crowd of reporters and they left the scene not long afterwards, once they were long gone Superman approached her. "Are you hurt?"

"That wasn't my first time fighting a Supervillain." Yuri responded before wincing as she clutched her sides. "But that did hurt a lot, teach me to pick a fight with a cyborg."

"We'll get you patched up but there's still the matter of where you came from." Superman responded and Yuri hesitated again before nodding.

"Well, for one thing, I'm not from this world." Yuri responded after thinking for a minute. "I'll go into more detail later but back home, me and three of my friends/fellow heroes chased several Supervillains from our world into the portal that led me to this area, I have no idea where my friends or those villains are but they could be anywhere."

"I think I know where we can get our best start." Superman nodded before putting a hand to his earpiece. "J'onn, can you beam us up?"

"Off course." J'onn responded and before Yuri even knew what was happening, she found herself, Green Lantern and Superman being teleported.

*seconds later*

When Yuri opened her eyes again she did several double takes as she looked around the Watchtower before Superman motioned for her to follow him which she did.

"Welcome to the Watchtower, this is the headquarters of the Justice League." Superman informed Yuri and she nodded whilst remaining silent. "As you can see, there are many heroes stationed here, we won't be adding you to our ranks yet but you can answer our questions here."

"Yeah, sure." Yuri nodded before being led into a side room. "Where do you want to start?"

"How about your real name for starters." Green Lantern chimed in and Yuri turned to the African American superhero. "Don't worry, you're among friends here."

"Right." Yuri nodded before removing her mask. "My real name is Yuriko Koboyashi, I'm twenty years old and I'm from New York City." Yuri added before taking a seat. "Back home I'm known as Silent Tempest, I have the power of flight and control over the wind and over there I had been doing this for a little over two years now."

"What are your friends' names? Do you have pictures of them?" Superman asked and Yuri hesitated as she reached for her phone. "It's so that our allies know who to look out for."

"In that case, yeah, I do." Yuri nodded before going into her pictures. "Luckily my twentieth birthday was a couple of days ago and most of the pictures of my friends was from my party." Yuri added before showing them a pic of Kat. "Katrina Sheng Lao, alias Dragon Girl, she's a bit more experienced than me but we got our training from the same guy, her powers are flight, Superstrength, the ability to breathe fire and super endurance." Yuri added before going through her pics again. "Encase your wondering about her wings, well she got those naturally and they help her with her flight."

"Just one question, how did you get your powers?" Superman asked and Yuri hesitated. "You can trust us Yuriko."

"Me, Kat and Marco are mutants, basically we were born with our powers, but they didn't activate for lack of better term until we hit puberty." Yuri responded before showing them a pic of Marco and Ehsan together. "That's Marco Gordano and Ehsan Sayegh, otherwise known as Mental Boy and Earthshaker respectively, Ehsan has powers that let him manipulate the earth around him and Marco has telepathy powers." Yuri added before blushing a bit. "Me and Kat are also dating Ehsan and Marco respectively."

"Now that that's cleared up, how did you and your friends get here exactly?" Superman asked and Yuri sighed.

"It all started when we got word that several villains that we had battled before had broken out of hail, their names are Target, Hellraiser and Shockwave and not only did they break out of jail but they stole the device which brought us here, some kind of portal generator." Yuri explained as she brushed some hair over her shoulder. "They had also kidnapped several scientists and engineers to operate it, we burst in ready to send them back to jail but Target ordered the portal open and they ran in, we ran in after them even after an engineer told us that it would be a one way trip."

"And now those villains are over here?" Superman asked and Yuri nodded. "We'll do what we can to get you and your friends back home but be prepared for the possibility of being stuck here."

"Didn't even think about that at the time." Yuri admitted sadly before shifting her weight. "As for the villains, well when I emerged from the portal I was totally alone so they could be anywhere in this world Target's an expert marksman with some degree of super strength, Hellraiser's a demonic biker with more powers than I can keep track off and Shockwave is a former hero turned bad with electrical powers."

"We will keep an eye out for them as soon as you can provide us with a picture." Superman nodded before he stood up. "We don't know how long it'll take to get you and your friends back home, until then we'll see about getting you four a place to stay, as soon as we can find Katrina, Ehsan and Marco off course."

"I appreciate it, thanks." Yuri nodded as she watched the two older men leave the room, once she was alone Yuri leaned forward and rested her arms on the table.

"Oh, and Yuri?" Superman spoke up and Yuri looked up as he poked his head into the room. "Happy belated Birthday." Superman added with a warm smile and Yuri grinned before the older hero walked off.

"I will say this, my first impressions of the heroes here have been nothing short of excellent, if the rest of the League is like Superman then maybe things won't be as bad as I initially feared." Yuri thought before shaking her head. "Still, I'm stuck in a new dimension far from home, my parents must be worried sick! I can only imagine what's going through Kat's, Marco's and Ehsan's minds." Yuri thought as she straightened up. "At least things can't get worse, or any weirder for that matter."
