This Alley McNally and I am bringing you a new fanfic: A little piece of home. A story about family, pregnancy and weapons. How these things fit into one story? Well, you need to read to find out!

I do want to mention that this story will run about 98 pages and be told throughout the next few weeks. So far, this is my favorite story that I have written. I hope that you find it just as enjoyable. I was inspired by Injustice as well as by the DC Rebirth series. While this story does not take place in either universe. It is an AU or an Alternate Universe story. AKA, it takes place in its own world. Borrowing events and characters from multiple realities. Including events from before the new B52s. (I pretty ignore that hot garbage.) It also has nothing to with my previous Superman Fanfics. I wanted to make that clear since it appeared that this was not the case. For that, I am sorry. I should have made that crystal clear.

I'm not certain if this will be a series yet, but if I do decide to branch out then I'll let you know. For now, this is a standalone fic. With nothing in the works to add to it. I do hope that you enjoy and that you review it. Let's get on to it!

Sometimes life becomes so complicated and insane that you forget the little things. Like the smell of a duey morning, the sound of a child laughing, or the look that Lois gets when she's on to something. She doesn't even realize that she does it either. She just goes onward. Ripping into whatever fool earned her ire. Bringing them down in a fiery clash of words. It was breathtaking. Often, I would get lost in her frenzy. Swept away by her words. But not today. For today, I heard something far greater. I heard the beating of three hearts inside one body. It was a miraculous sound.

"Earth to Clark Kent. Earth to Clark Kent!"

Lois was staring at me now. Irritation and annoyance were written all over her face. Then again she expected me to keep up. She wasn't the handing-holding type. She did not like to repeat herself. My lapses in concentration seemed to set her off every time. She hated them. Even if they were understandable. Often, I would hear a crisis brewing somewhere or the league would call me while she was talking to me. My attention would waiver. I would then miss an important word or phrase. Which would set her off. I couldn't help it, I was Superman, after all.

However, there was no emergency today. No desperate call from the league for help. Instead, it was quiet out there. Relatively speaking that is. Nothing was happening that required Superman's personal attention. The world was doing okay on its own. I did not have to leave. I could stay here and listen to the three of them all day. To hell with the rest of the world, we were going to be parents!

"Clark?! Are you listening?!" Lois demanded.

She meant business now. I had to say something soon before she started throwing things at me. "Yes, you're telling me about how you caught Mannheim smuggling drugs to purchase drugs."

The moment I said that I realized that I was screwed. Her face said it all. "Clark, that was twenty minutes ago. And he was smuggling drugs to buy guns. " She threw up her hands. "If you listen you would know that!"

Now, I was really in trouble. I had no idea what she had been talking about for the last twenty minutes. My mind had wandered. Gone on an adventure that ended with the best sound that I had ever heard. A sound that Lois was completely unaware of. I had to do something quickly. So, I got up; took her in my arms; and kissed her. Which confused the hell out of her. She had no idea what was going on.

"Clark?" She asked me once her lips were freed. "What's going on? Are you okay?" She seemed worried now. "Is something wrong?"

I smiled. I couldn't help it. I was just so damned happy. "No, nothing. Nothing at all!"

Lois had no idea what to make of me. She didn't like me being cryptic. She didn't like how goofy I was acting. She didn't understand what was going on. Then again women often don't know that they are pregnant right away. So, she didn't know about her passengers. Or that she was going to mother very soon. Hell, I only figured it out a minute ago and I have super-hearing. Lois did not have any clue. She had no idea what was going on.

Then again, why would she suspect anything? We were from two very different species. It shouldn't be possible. It was why I never bothered with protection. What was the point? We weren't going to have children anyway. How glad I was to be wrong.

"Clark, you're scaring me. What the hell is going on?"

I kissed her again. "Nothing," She gave me a dirty look that made me almost laugh. She had no idea that there was a miracle inside her. A gift that I never dreamed possible. Still, it was time to let her know what was going on. "Lois, you're pregnant."

She pulled away and gave me a blank look. "I'm what?"

My grin widened. "You're pregnant, Lois."

"How . . ." She began then switched gears. "Never mind. Stupid question. Of course, you know. You always know. It's infuriating, y'know."

I kissed her again. "Sorry."

She punched my arm. "You're not sorry. You just said that to calm me down."

I grinned again. "Did it work?"

"No, you idiot! It did not! I'm pregnant!" " Lois paused for a second before starting ramping up. "I'm pregnant. That means . . . That you and I . . . Are going . . ." I nodded. "To have a . . ." I nodded again. "A baby!"

"Going to have two babies." I corrected her. "There are two heartbeats besides your own. So, two babies, not one. They're twins, Lois."

"Twins? Oh god . . .!" She started to run around the room. "We're going to have twins? Oh god! Twins!"

I had to go over and make her sit down. "It's alright, Lois. I'll make sure that everything is okay. I won't leave you. I'll make sure that there are no . . . complications."

She looked up at me in terror. "Complications?"

"Well, they are half-Kryptonian."

"Right." Lois looked away for a second. "They're not going to kick me to death, are they?"

I took her into my arms. "Not if I can help it. Not if I can help it."

Then the panic settled down upon me. I was going to be a father to very special children. Who would need a great deal of help. For there would be complications. Even if Lois was completely safe. I would need to not only be their protector and guide but their doctor too. For no one else on this planet could help me now. I was up a river without a paddle.

"Oh god," I whispered. "What do we do now?"

I will post more later on. Most likely next week. See you then! Alley.
