2002.
The cast of friends were all hanging out with husbands and wife and girlfriends except for one. Matthew was alone. Well not really alone, he was surrounded by all his friends but he was the only one who didn't have anybody at his side. He was happy that all of them had found someone at some point but he felt a little bit lonely. And especially because the one he liked a little more for all those years was truly happy with her husband. He never told her that of course but he sometimes, as a joke, gives little hints. He's put out of his thoughts by David (Arquette) saying his name.
"Hey Matthew I was just realising that you're the only one here who haven't brought someone. Is this because you're single or just she's too shy to see us?"
"Well there is no 'she', I am currently single but that's okay."
"I could find you someone" said Courteney out of the blue. Matthew looked at her with wide eyes.
"No that's okay, I don't need your help to find someone" he said in a light tone. "Come on Matty we wanna help you" Jennifer said. "Yeah we can help right?" Lisa said.
"I appreciate your sudden interest in my love life but come on I'm not desperate."
"If you weren't you'd be with someone" Courteney teased. They all laughed. "Yeah she's right. Now tell us your type of woman maybe we have that kind in our midst." Jennifer said. "I don't have a type" he looked at Courteney like a reflex, she was his type. "Every guy has a type, what's your's?" she said. He stared at her and said "I guess dark hair, blue shinning eyes, very attractive of course..." he changed his gaze to not get caught "a basic type right?". Everyone looked at him, some may have understood who he has mentioned but the two people concerned didn't take the hint. "Yeah I guess it's basic. Well I don't think I know someone like that but who knows who I'm gonna meet tomorrow" Courteney said and winked. "Yeah me neither" Lisa said with a pretty faked tone, of course there was but she was already taken and she didn't know he was talking about her.
