The rebirth of paganism in the twentieth century represents the contrary nature of humanity with efforts to reclaim the image that their greatest enemies had stolen. The movement was strongest in the Scandinavian region following the large scale Wulfen immigration to Norway and Sweden who spread their faith among the local population. The revelation that the Asgard had helped develop humanity also helped the cause of the Norse Pagans and from the 1930's to 1950's it was engrained into the culture of Norway, Sweden, and Iceland. The faith was slower to take off in Denmark until the election of Gerda Wegener who openly worshipped Freya with a Norse Pagan in office the movement took of in Denmark with it's base in the Jutland region. In the United Kingdom of Finland and Estonia King Gustaf I supported the church against the rising force of the traditional Finnic faiths but did not openly discourage them merely disagree with them. The press was not so restrained attacking the Pagans as deluded cultists that would betray them to the Goa'uld the most scandalous example is when an independent journalist 'revealed' that the ceremonies held on the winter solstice were just orgies with animal sacrifices. Despite the fact that the ceremonies were sombre affairs remembering the hardness of winter and the harshness of the land.
To the east of Scandinavia in the vast plains of Russia Slavic paganism only took off after the decisive success of the film Deamons of the Ice. The film depicted Alexander Nevsky praying to the god Perun for victory and the god answered his prayer sending forth his servants and slaughtering the soldiers of the Livonian Order allowing him to unite Russia under the banner of Perun against the hordes of heretics to the west. The film spurned interest in the ancient Slavic faith which led to a large swathe of conversions especially among the large pan-Slavic groups across the nation which was reflected in the swathe of conversions that happened in Serbia and Montenegro. The greatest success by far for the movement was the conversion of the third son of Tsar Michael II Grand Duke Alexander to the faith in late 1956. He personally would fund the construction a series of temples across Russia despite the grumblings of his brother Nicholas III. But it was just not the ancient Slavic faiths that took off in the depths of Central Asia and the wilds of Siberia Tengrism returned with a vengeance.
In Western Europe and the British Isles Christianity had a strong grip but modern Paganism managed to take off there albeit with less popularity then elsewhere. The general divide was between those who returned to worshipping Celtic gods which took off in Brittany, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man, and parts of Belgium and the worship of the ancient Roman faith which took over the Latin part of Europe. The Celtic faiths were heavily tied with efforts to rebuild Celtic languages and cultures with the most prominent example in Cornwall where the language of Cornish was resurrected by the efforts of the English Government. Stonehenge swiftly became an arena of controversy with the small English Druid community requesting the right to use the area on certain times without interruption since Stonehenge much like the Tower of London and other areas of historical importance had been labelled as the Common Heritage of the English People and were thus, under trust for future generations. The case ended up going to the English House of Lords which ruled in favour of the Druids allowing them to use the site for their ceremonies.

The first time that the Lucian Alliance became aware of the allies was the Battle of Grand Providence when the allies destroyed the largest slaving convey in history and promptly the Lucian Alliance ran into the allies as they mopped up the last scattered Goa'uld forces. The allies under the Jolly Roger opened cautious communications the second they heard the name Lucian Alliance they cut off communications and opened fire. The allies managed to break the Lucian Alliance within the first volley shattering their line allowing the lighter allied ships to board the Lucian alliance ships. The crack teams that the allies assigned to their warships were more than able to break the crew of the Lucian Alliance ships. As the allies took out three of the four Lucian ships the last one managed to escape the system bearing news of a powerful skilled enemy that had arisen the Lucian Alliance now knew of their greatest enemy and began to prepare to fight them again. They implemented stricter training programs so that they could hold off the crack teams of humanity.

The early Battle of Dakara seemed to lean in the allied favour with the allies bombarding the Dakara Temple then the Kull were released the allies were pushed back decisively save for a few soldiers those being IIET-1. At the time they had been hunting down some Jaffa in a cave system and by the time they left the cave system the front had been pushed past the cave. 'Mad Jack' Churchill decided instead of withdrawing to launch a strike against the head of the Goa'uld Anubis. Making use of radio he called in a series of artillery strikes on certain vital locations crippling the Goa'uld advance all the while slipping through the ruins of Dakara to where Anubis lurked.
When they reached the square in front of the Temple IIET-1 unleashed their wrath led by Mad Jack Churchill with bagpipes blazing and his broadsword drawn with Sigurður Steelfangs and Bra'tac by his side tearing their way through the Jaffa guards. Until they reached the gateway to the Dakara Superweapon where two Kull waited. 'Mad Jack' had stolen some experimental technology that managed to temporarily freeze the Kull's Armour allowing him to break open the Kull's armour and killing them and then they entered the chamber the final stage of the Battle of Dakara had begun.
