Hi there! It's been a while but I am back with a small one-shot. Haven't had much time to write fanfiction as I am a published author now. But here is a little one-shot and who knows what more I might write in the future!
The clock had just passed midnight in Molly's as there were only three men left.
''Alright, last round, but I am closing after.'' Christopher warned them as he uncoupled the empty vat from the beer tap. Grabbing two bottles of beer he put them in front of Kelly and Matt.
''You barely drank anything tonight.'' Kelly teased him.
''I am working tomorrow.'' Matt told him.
''You just got off work.'', Kelly teased him.
''Still doing some constructing, we don't all spend our day off hungover in bed.'', Matt teased him right back.
''Alright, second to last trivia question.'' Herrmann said as the looked at the card.
''Where were the Olympics held in 1996?''
''Atlanta.''
''LA.'' Kelly shook his head.
''No, Atlanta.'' Matt shook his head.
''No, it was LA.''
''No, I am right, check it!'' Matt said as he pointed at his phone.
He saw Herrmann was tired, it had been a long shift as well before they had all gone here.
''Come on, I will get that to the kitchen for you.'' Matt said as he got up and walked around the bar as he wanted to help
''You don't have to.'' Herrmann said but he was grateful, tired as he was ready to close the bar down and go home. He knew the kids would wake him up early tomorrow, but at least he got to stay in bed after Cindy brought them to school.
''Lemme give you a hand, least I can do.'' Casey said as he grabbed the empty vat to bring to the back.
''Showoff!'' Kelly teased him as he stumbled off his barstool on his way to the toilet. Casey smirked as he opened the door to the kitchen. Walking back with the heavy empty vat, he put it down. Taking a second in the kitchen, tired as well and not looking forward to the constructing work tomorrow, he knew he should go home as well.
Hearing the front door, he guessed that Kelly was going to stumble home, as drunk as he was. As much fun as he was having, it would be nice to close down soon so Herrmann could go home.
Wanting to walk back, the door was still open the bar area and he suddenly saw a strange man walking in, his gun drawn.
Getting down his knees, Casey crawled behind the kitchen island. Carefully peeking over it, he noticed the man with the gun walking closer to Christopher. He knew that if he were to get up and warn Christopher now, things could get out of hand.
As silent as possible, worried about the littlest squeak his sneakers could make, he turned around on the ball of his feet, looking around him. He saw the small hallway to the backdoor behind him, and realized if he could go out there, maybe he could get back in through the front and corner the robber.
Getting to the back door, he reached out for the knob. As he tried to turn, he felt somebody else holding it from the outside as well.
''Shit.'', he hissed under his breath, carefully turning to make his way towards the bar again.
''On the ground!'' He heard the man, presumably the one that had been behind Herrmann with the gun. All he could hope was that Herrmann would follow his instructions.
He heard somebody messing around with the door again and he looked behind him, scared for the door to open as somebody kept messing with the door. Suddenly he heard somebody banging into the door once more, quickly followed by a groan that sounded a lot like his friend.
''Kelly?'' He hissed.
''Case- it's me!'' He heard Kelly his now and carefully he opened the door, Kelly almost falling inside now.
''Can you believe this, somebody was on the toilet, had to go piss behind a dumpster – Herrmann shut the door.'' Kelly laughed.
''Shut up!'' Matt hissed as he grabbed Kelly by his collar, staying low as they made their way towards the storage room behind the kitchen, glad that the man that he had seen through the crack of the door not having heard them.
He grabbed Kelly just before he could fall as they got inside the storage room and Matt closed the door as quiet as he could.
''Herrmann locked the front door.'' Kelly mumbled as he slumped down.
''That wasn't Herrmann, the bar is being robbed!'' Casey told him. ''Give me your phone.''
Kelly reached in his pocket, giggling for a second then.
''What's so funny.''
''It's on the bar, because you had to prove a point.'' Kelly giggled.
''Damnit.'' Casey hissed, not as now not only he had to deal with a robber holding Herrmann under shot, but also with his friend drunker than he had ever seen him.
''Just stay here.'' He told Kelly, gently opening the door and crawling out again as he moved closer to the bar area. Herrmann had his hands up, walking towards the cash register.
Getting up, he tried to sneak back into the bar. But as soon as he gently had tried to push the door open, the door let out a loud squeak and the robber looked around, immediately seeing Casey. Jumping up, Casey tried to grab the gun from his hand.
Trying to push the man aside, there was nothing he could do cause as strong as he was, the man was a lot bigger then him.
Getting punched in the face, he fell backward and fell to the floor. As soon as he looked up, he didn't even get the chance to look this man in the eye before he saw the gun that was pointed at him.
Looking at the man in front him, clearly ready to take the shot, Casey looked beside him at Herrmann. With every fiber of his body, he was scared now. Only a few hours ago he had ran into a burning building, thinking that it would have been the scariest of the day.
Suddenly, he heard a loud yell from the kitchen and looked as Kelly was storming out, the robber looking confused at the yelling man running his way. Before he could act though, Kelly hit him with his whole body and weight, pushing the man to the ground.
Herrmann rushed to the robber as Kelly checked on Matt.
''Shit Kelly, you knocked him out.'' Herrmann said as he talked closer to the robber, taking the gun away. Kelly slumped down on the chair again, taking a sip of the beer that was still there and taking his phone then to dial 911, as Herrmann helped Casey back to his feet.
''You okay?''
''Fine.'' Matt nodded as they walked towards the robber, checking his vitals and making sure that the police took him custody only a few minutes later.
Matt was taken to an ambulance that they had called for the robber, worried Kelly had harmed him but they checked out Matt as well, his eyebrow bleeding and his eye already swollen.
''Need us to take you to the hospital?'' the EMT asked concerned.
''It's fine, looks worse than it is.'' He assured them as Kelly and Christopher were still being interviewed.
He joined them just a while later, but soon there was enough information so that soon the police left, leaving their card incase they had more information.
''Oh you look worse than usual Casey.'' Kelly joked as they sat down, Herrmann calling Cindy to pick them up and let her know what had happened.
''Well I am not going to do the job tomorrow, I think.'' Matt smirked as he gladly took the beer, holding the cold bottle against his eye.
Herrmann quickly gave Matt and icepack, which he gladly took to hold against his eye.
''How is it, that I am not the drunkest one here and I end up with a black eye.'' Casey teased Kelly a bit but he was grateful for Kelly's action. He was not sure what would have happened if Kelly had not knocked the man out in his drunken rage.
Before Kelly could reply, there was a knock on the door. Nervous they looked out whom was coming in, relieved when it turned out to be Cindy.
''Always trouble with you three.'' Cindy smiled as she waved them to walk along to bring them all home.
In the car, Kelly looked concerned, as Matt was dozing off, not sure if it was because he was tired or if the punch had done a lot more trouble.
''Matt, you can stay with us if you want, make sure he didn't hit you harder than you think he did.'' Cindy said concerned.
''I am fine.''
''Then you're coming with me.'' Kelly said, a bit concerned. It had already hard to see his friend held under gunpoint before.
''My brains aren't scrambled.'' Matt assured him, but to be honest, he knew it was the right thing to do.
''Can you scramble something that isn't there?'' Kelly teased, but he helped Casey out of the car and walked with him inside. Soon he laid on the couch, Kelly taking a pillow and blanket from one of the cupboards.
''You seem a lot clearer than you were in the bar.''
''I felt sober the moment I saw him point that gun at you.'' Kelly said and Matt laughed for a second.
''You bodyslammed the guy in drunken rage.''
''I was really worried when I saw him with the gun pointed at you.''
''I appreciate it.'' Matt just said then.
''You were right by the way, the games were in Atlanta, not LA.'' Kelly said as he walked to the light switch.
''Always right.'' Matt teased him some more, but just glad that his friend was here to look after him. No matter how much trouble they would get into they always had each other to fall back on.
Hope you enjoyed the read! Please let me know waht you thought and who knows until when again.
