Chapter 45

The day was full of classes, lunchtime, patrol with James and the small problems of younger students. Belle is barely able to get to the Great Hall in time for supper. She saw Scorpius during class, all three sat together, but didn't have much time with him otherwise.

After dropping off their books, the trio meet back up at the staircase. Scorpius tows Belle back to the Gryffindor table and pulls her down into his side. James sits beside her and they eat while waiting for any announcements to be made.

"So cousin, are we going to invite Scorp to our little trip down your parents' memory lane?" James grins before taking a bite of his tiramisu. Belle turns to her boyfriend and raises her eyebrows.

"What do you say? My parents and even Uncle Harry has donated their memories. It started with me asking how they fell in love and has expanded. As of last night, they've left the school after Mum and Harry's sixth year. It was the year of Headmaster Dumbledore's assassination. Do you want to view them?" She asks, waiting for him to clear his mouth after taking a sip of cocoa.

"Sure, but I can't stay too long. Between curfew and homework from Runes and Arithmancy, I don't want to push my luck." He winks and loops his arm around Belle's waist, before kissing her temple. "Tell me now, how big a slag is this Goyle girl? I've seen her flirt with upwards of ten guys over the course of the day and yet, she keeps winking at me. How does she not see that her behavior is repulsive?" Scorpius shakes his head at the very idea. This cracks Belle up. She knows that only one other boy has never shown any interest in the tart, that being James. No one but Belle knows that he has had a crush on the smartest girl in Gryffindor of their year. Geraldine "Ginger" Rawlings was an Irish red headed muggle-born. She has always thought it was funny that James was attracted to her given her similarities to his grandmother, Lily Potter, nee Evans. James has never put it together, which is even funnier to his best friend. As opposed to Lily Potter, Ginger has bright blue eyes and very curly hair. In many ways, she could be Belle's sister on sight, but just the thought of James seeing her that way is too odd. James' resemblance to his father, aside from the glasses, accounts to this getting weird in the future, if they would get together.

Returning to Scorpius' query, Belle sighs. "She doesn't see it because, like my cousin 'Torie, it's only failed once before you. James here can't stand her and it has been that way since long before I started with Richard. That wink of hers has dropped many trousers in this school. Imagine what would happen if she was like 'Torie." Belle shivers. "Forget the school, nowhere from here to Dove town would be safe."

Scorpius nuzzles Belle's neck. "Well, that just proves that James and I have better taste than every other boy in the school. Don't forget, I was able to resist many attempts made by your cousin while she still was at full power, but once I saw you, I had to call you mine." With a peck to her lips, he stands and helps her up.

The three walk up to the Head's dorm and James gives the password to the portrait of a young witch sitting in a meadow. "Deadpool" This makes Scorpius snort. "Marvel characters? Good, there are hundreds."

James smirks. "That is the point. We hope to change it each week and see how many we can get through. They enter and sit down on the couch while Belle goes up to her room to gather the pensieve and memory phials.
