With the opening of the Goa'uld defensive lines that leaves the Goa'uld vulnerable though we are still trudging across Wellington the Anubis line has collapsed and the Goa'uld Empire is on the verge of defeat. But we must not get complacent the Goa'uld are strong they are ancient they have ruled this galaxy for millennia and will fight to their last breath to keep their looted power. But we are soldiers of humanity we will break them and raise the banner of freedom from every pinnacle that the Goa'uld care for. We are the killers of gods and the Goa'uld shall fall before us. We shall walk upon the mountains green and cast down the satanic mills of Anubis. So, forwards soldiers of humanity forwards soldiers of freedom. Death to the Goa'uld. Long live humanity! Long Live freedom! Oi Johnson gives us a song.
Right Sir.
Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag
And smile, smile, smile,
While you've a lucifer to light your fag,
Smile, boys, that's the style.
What's the use of worrying?
It never was worth while
So, pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag
And smile, smile, smile.

The United Kingdom had transitioned to a semi-federal state in the years prior to Imperial Federation but in the 1960's that came down in a wave that ended the United Kingdom and gave birth to the Commonwealths that currently dominate the British Isles. The seed is generally believed to be the laws in Wales, Scotland, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and Cornwall which made those regions bilingual and made it mandatory for every local to be fluent in the local language. This naturally led to a cultural revival with more and more people discovering the history of their homes and their cultures. In Ireland as the Troubles waged across the island the people turned to their cultural heritage to escape their woes as they did so support began to rise for the peaceful establishment of a separate Irish commonwealth.
The Irish Parliament in 1961 under the Seán Lemass Premiership formed a committee to investigate both the support and the costs of separating from the United Kingdom. The support was high save in Ulster where the ethnic purge of the native people during the early days of the Stargate had left the Unionists with a decisive majority. The costs showed that Ireland would generate enough revenue to govern themselves as their own Commonwealth as would the United Kingdom without Ireland. The findings of the Committee were released the year after the committee was started the week before an election. Though Seán Lemass and his Labour Party lost the entire region of Ulster he was able to secure a majority and immediately requested a referendum asking the population if they would support seceding from the United Kingdom and establishing their own Commonwealth. The referendum resulted in a success for the motion with around 68% of the population supporting the measure. The success of the Referendum led to the Premier formally summiting a request to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and the Prime Minister of the United Empire for Ireland to be allowed to create their own Commonwealth within the United Empire.
The requests were accepted despite the cries of the Democrtic Union Party and a series of Referendums were held across the United Empire to make sure that the rest of the Commonwealths were willing to allow Ireland to join the United Empire as a Commonwealth. The ascension of Ireland passed, and the Premier of Ireland called a constitutional convention in Dublin for ascension. The constitution was very similar to the Australian one with several additions most notably half of the Senate was elected while the remainder was made of bishops and lords that would sit in the British House of Lords prior to Ireland's secession.
On the 1st of August 1964, the Union Jack was lowered over Dublin for the last time and the Golden Harp was raised. Celebrations broke out across Ireland and the majority of the nationalist forces temporarily stooped their actions in the Troubles. The Unionists on the other hand unleashed hell on everyone they could find who celebrated the event and the Irish Republican Army managed to assassinate the new British High Commissioner Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Cork. This of course led to further crackdowns against the Republicans for the murder. Which made the Troubles even tenser with Ulster demanding to re-join the United Kingdom.
The reaction in the United States was happiness especially in the heavily Irish regions of Boston I remember that my family got very drunk that day when the news broke, and Robert ended up joining the American Worker's Party because of the second bottle of Whiskey.

The victories in the initial blow of Operation Lance allowed the allies to run rampart through the heart of the Goa'uld Empire as they drove towards the lair of Anubis on the world of Nova Britannia the original name was purged by the British. As the allies tore their way through the rapidly collapsing Goa'uld the Jaffa People's Republic leapt on the chance and tore their way into the Goa'uld Empire. Securing swathes of planets under their maniacal regime with floods of refuges flowing out of the Stargates to Goa'uld held worlds which weakened the Goa'uld response. With two powers leaping on to them the Goa'uld war effort which was now divided between the allies, the Replicators, and the Jaffa People's Republic collapsed Ba'al mutinied and secured a fiefdom in the centre of the galaxy. This gave rise to a domino effect wherein every System Lord with a Ha'tak and some Jaffa secured a planet and left Anubis to die. World after world fell before the allies and the Jaffa People's Republic until only Nova Britannia remained.
