Shadow saw a dark figure moving towards her. She turned and started running away but she couldn't move anywhere.
"Help!"
She gasped awake from the nightmare and was momentarily startled by the blackness. Even though she had been blind from birth, her dreams were vivid and real. So real in fact that she was still surprised whenever she woke up. She caught her breath and sat up. The previous moons events washed over her and she flinched. She did not want to think of it. Her family was all gone. She was all alone. She started grooming her very messy fur.
It was leaf bare and Shadow could feel the snow under her paws. She hadn't eaten in days. She felt a pang of loneliness. Before, her mother or father would've hunted. But now… it was up to her. She stumbled a few places. This was it! She could do it! She walked a bit more.
Shadow walked all the way to the thunderpath.
"This is easy," she exclaimed.
She had always found dodging the twoleg monsters exhilarating and it was no different now. It hurt to remember her family but Shadow was glad she would always have some memories to cherish. Not everyone was that lucky. She was now on the other side. She took one last sniff of everything familiar before heading into the unknown.
She felt colder here. Wierder somehow. She couldn't quite figure it out. Her legs felt weighed down by some unknown object. Each step was agony and even moving was becoming difficult. She fell to the ground. She tried to turn her head but is was stuck in place.
"No!" Shadow whispered before her legs buckled and unconsciousness pulled her into its numb grip.
