Chapter 11
Spring changed into Summer. Life seems to slowly go back to normal for the pack. I started back spending time with my family. The relationship is still odd over me taking such a wrong lifestyle but I'm proving myself in the eyes of my mother. Her and her boyfriend Melvin seems to be a nice couple. She's happy. She's enjoying life. She ain't got to take care of her two children nor grandchild.
Dave took the launch into a police officer. He started taking training and studying for the police exam. If he passes, he'll be working with Sam and Jared. Sam talks about him a lot. He speaks on telling him that he needs to stay clean. I think it's cool that he's proving for his family. The pack living their normal lives with their parents and friends.
I'm still in my own turmoil trying to find my own path in life. It weighs a dark on my mentality. I never seen my life turning out to be like this. I was never prepared to be change into a wolf at the age of sixteen. High school is the time where you find the certain paths to live your life. It just hurts my heart when I see everybody else is living their lives.
What am I doing? I'm turning into a loner. I'm staying out at night. I'm being more reserved. How my personality is? I don't see myself ever fighting who I am. What I have to live with now.
I'm relaxed on my red beach towel dressed in a red one piece and jean shorts watching the packs play in the water. Just a relaxing summer day. A well earned day. It has been no vampire activity as of yet. The Hidden Vamp nor Victoria has yet to make an appearance even though we're training by watching the Cullens show us how newborns are.
"You ever feel like you picked the wrong person to date?" Sandra ask her friends from the other side of the beach. "You talking about Mia and Shawn?" Melissa, Tristan's younger sister asks. Tristan is a type of man who you don't want mess with. I glance at him over at the cliff. Quil jumps off screaming. I can't do that. "Yeah. How I feel." She sadly say.
"I think it's the appearance, Sandra. She looks exactly like Shawn. Look at her half hair cut. Put it on Shawn and you got Mia. You don't want the penis?" One of her friends asks. "I'm unsure now. I th-" "It's the face, Sandra. All it is. You can't between two siblings. One female. One male. It's unheard of." Melissa say in disbelief.
Her and her friends laugh. I smell Shawn walking through the forest with his friends. He smells like he has an attitude on his back. I smirk. The child will always be the child. I get up. "Come and get your imprint, Pup." I say grabbing the towel. He stop walking. "Don't start." Marcus say from the cliff. I hold my hands up walking over to Paul and Sam.
"Do you need a beatdown?" He ask me. "You mean a tame? The same tame that Paul got? I seen it and I ain't like it, Sam." I say folding the towel. "You fixing for one." He seriously say. "I'm good, Sam. Shawn think that I been talking to Sandra but it's the insecurities of a childish boyfriend I mean ex-boyfriend." I say smirking.
He looks me dead in the face. I shrug. I don't know what else to say. That's not my problem. "That's between them, Sam." "Then, you don't add into Shawn's attitude." Marcus say walking down the cliff. "I honestly cannot help it." I say voice breaking. I'm starting to feel sick. "You want to attack him in front of all of these innocent people, Mia?" Sam asks.
It's like he read my mind. My eyes roll in the back of my head and I faint on the sand. "Did you have to do that, Sam?" Jared ask walking up behind me. "She has to learn to be tame in front of her brother, Jared." "A brother who hasn't seen her in weeks. Why?" Marcus ask. "Paul's tenth child, Sam." I softly say rolling on my side.
What the hell was that? "Submission?" I ask confused. "Is that what it was, Mia?" Jared ask kneeling in front of me. "I think so. I'm unsure. Sam never told me about this submission. He looked me in the face and it was over. What's my sup-" "She stole Sandra from me." Shawn say interrupting us from the forest.
"It has been almost three months since you started to date the girl that you and your friends lied about dating for two years. You wanted her! Mia ain't thinking about her." Marcus say. I agree with his every single word. "You have a serious problem if you think that Mia is in the middle of your relationship, Shawn." Sam say. "Mia want that." I say looking at Paul's private area in those cutoff jeans.
Rachel is not around her to watch us. "Maybe, she already got it." Sam say. "Still a virgin, Sam." Paul say. And, I am gonna be one till the day that I find my imprint. Jared stands up looking at Sandra. "What you think, Sam?" "She wants to start drama cause she's on a fight with her ex-boyfriend, Jared. Shawn shouldn't drag his sister into his mess."
"That's his imprint. He's tired of Sandra always talking about Mia!" Ben say agitated. He's a little bit mad ain't he? Just picked wrong. "Shawn, grow up. Mia is living her life. That's your problem. Not yours. Stay or go." "Can I go?" I ask Sam. I would love to go home. "Where you want to go, Mia?" He ask giving me a look. "Home, Sam." I say placing the towel under my head and falling asleep.
Later that night...
"She would never be this late." Dave say handing Det. Gomez his Driver's License. I'm sitting in the recliner biting on my pinky finger. Mom is rocking a fussy Alex. "How long has she been working?" He ask looking at his driver's license. "Almost two months, Robert." Dave say sitting back down on the couch. "Is she known to be a drug addict?"
"Yes, she is. She's trying to clean her life up." He nervously say rubbing on his thighs. "He wants to know if she is much worse than you are when it comes to your drug habit." I say. "Mia, that's enough. I got this." Det. Gomez say. Mom looks at Dave. "I've been sober for a couple of weeks. She comes home smelling." He say. Like drugs. Okay. Knock! Knock!
"That's Sam and Jared. They know the tribe. I cal-" "I know who they are. Come in." Det. Gomez say looking at the front door. The door opens up. Both men walk in. "Just want to make sure everything is okay. Are you tweak-" "I'm not tweaking." Dave angrily say. Sam nod greeting my mother. I can't believe he asked that. "Mia said that she was kidnapped." Jared say.
"We'll investigate the issue. The best we can do is wait. Possibly go-" "I know she stole that money that I gave you." I say cutting Det. Gomez off. "What money?" He ask. "Mia gave a certain amount to help out with bills. I hid the money." He say lost. I shake my head. "Where was she taken?" Sam ask. "Her job in Forks." "I'm half and half cause she's a drug addict. All we know she worked enough. I can go look myself." I say getting up out of the recliner.
Ring. Ring. "She'll be in the background. She wants that money." Dave grabs the cellphone off the stand next to the couch. "He needs to leave her alone." I say flopping in the chair. "If she don't want to get clean then let her go." Mom say. "Put it on speaker." Det. Gomez say. Dave presses the button. "Shhh." A woman laugh out. I roll my eyes getting up and heading across the front yard.
"Hello." "My sister wants me to ask for a ransom." A teenage boy tiredly say. Laughter is heard. "Are you free tonight?" I ask Det. Gomez. Just want to take him out on a beach stroll. "Why don't you go outside?" Jared ask me. I nod walking past the men and stepping outside. Jade needs help in her life. Dave hangs up the phone. "I'm done." He say. I sigh looking up at the night sky. The stars are bright.
"We don't want drug addicts on the police force nor personal issues." Jared say. Tell him, Jared. "Changing my life around. I need to get ri-" I hear mom get up from the couch. I move to the side watching her sit Alex on the couch and storming her way outside. "Mom!" I call out watching her. She ignores me going to her car, getting in, and driving off. I walk back inside.
"What happened?" I ask feigning confusion. Sam looks at Det. Gomez. Dave pick Alex up. "I think your mother don't like me moving on with my life." He say. "Well, you did introduce her daughter to drugs. Now, you want to dump her." Jared say. That shared pack mind is no secret. "She had a choice. She don't want to take it, Jared." Dave say getting up.
"Thanks again for coming, Robert." He say holding out his hand. "No problem. I live on the same neighborhood." He say shocking me. "Lef-" "She has to go. I'm trying to change my life around." Dave say. "And, have good friends." I say wrapping my arms around Jared and Sam's waist. "I don't befriend drug addicts." He seriously say.
Lord! He sounds so angry. "Trying to clean my life up." Dave say staring in Det. Gomez's face. "Do you want me to leave you men alone?" I ask sensing some type of tension in the living room. "Can you?" He ask. "Sure. Have a good night." I say going outside and down the street.
Three days later, Jade ended up being fired from her job at the clothing store. Dave changed the locks and kicked him out. I'm minding my own business spending more time with Paul. Mom told me that Jade had moved back into her home. I understand her personality and issue towards Dave but that's his life. He wants to do for himself and his child.
"What's up with Bells?" I ask knocking on the dining table. "Her name is Bella. She's doing okay. Her and the leech still dating." Jacob say watching TV. "Well, I'm here for you if need advice on girl problems. Naw, I'm lying. I can't give you nothing. I change my mind." I say shaking. "I know you can't. You and Paul love sleeping behind my sister's back." He growls out.
"Not in Sam's house, Jacob." Embry say. I know. Emily is upstairs. "Let's go outside." I say getting up. "I have nothing else to say, Mia. Why you sleeping naked in my sister's boyfriend's bed?" He ask. "Cause I be tired, Jacob." I say sitting back down. I'm not sleeping on no couch. "You and Leah behind Rachel's back." He say.
"Naw. Me and Paul is just roommates. Let me stay with you and I'll sleep in your bed naked." I say smiling. We just roommates. "The fact that you, Leah, and Paul is not respecting that Rachel is his imprint." "Mia is the roommate. Leah is the one who slept with him." Embry say. I know. "Just roommates, Jacob. I know how to respect. Come eat dinner. I make a mean lasagna but I'll be making sautéed steak Sunday for Paul." I say.
The screen door opens up. "Am I invited?" Rachel ask walk in. "Yeah. I'll be with Marcus's parents around five so I'll cook early for him." I say smiling. She looks out of the doorway. Sam walks in from the backdoor. "She cooks for you." She say interested. "She likes to cook." Paul say walking in and closing the screen door. "Like? I love to cook."
"How long is this roommate situation gonna last?" Rachel ask Paul. "Are you moving in with me?" "I might." She say. "If you move in, I can move in with your daddy? I can help around the house. I can cook. I can pay bills. Will that be okay?" I ask her and Jacob. "I can ask Dad. Is that okay with you?" She ask Paul. "She helps with the bills. You don't have a job."
"I can get a job, Paul. I can cook. What's the real problem?" She ask. "I'm not giving your daddy a sponge bath." I snidely say pointing in Jacob's face. "That's my job. You'll have to sleep on the couch." "I can sleep outside. Can I share the room with you?" "My room is small. You can sleep on the floor." "I can sleep on the floor. You still fixing that car?"
"The Rabbit?" "Yeah. You know Marcus and Lincoln work at an auto shop." "I'm fixing on my own." "Well, it'll work cool. Your sister is pregnant. She can take it easy. I'll cook, clean. We can...it's a lot that can be done. She don't have to overwork herself. I'll love to help out." I seriously say nodding. "Well, we can ask Billy." Sam say looking in Paul's face.
"She helps with the bills, Sam." He say. "If you need help then I don't mind paying rent." "No. That won't be right. You have to learn to pay your taxes." Sam say. "Property taxes has been rising." Embry say. "Cause of that waterfall. It's weird cause they're only getting certain people. My mom. Dave. To be sure, you should take your paycheck to a tax place. Make sure they're not overcharging you or doing something wrong. They could be stealing your money."
"We can go tomorrow." Rachel say. "Whatever." Paul say walking past her and taking a seat on the couch. "Me, you, and Billy." I happily say holding up my hands. Jacob have high them.
