In time, Fozzie drove the gang further down the road. The sun rose up and everyone marveled at the glorious sunrise.
"It's a beautiful morning, guys," Jeanette told everyone.
"Yeah," Fozzie answered. "Perfect day for a drive. Imagine, a frog, a bear, and three girls seeing America." After a brief pause, he responded with, "I feel a song coming on!"
Lucy smiled as the song began. Kermit took out his banjo and started everyone off:
Kermit: Movin' right along In search of good times and good news
With good friends you can't lose
Fozzie: This could become a habit
Lucy: Opportunity knocks once
Let's reach out and grab it
Yeah, Together we'll nab it
Fozzie: We'll hitchhike, bus or yellow cab it
Kylie: Cab it?
Everyone: We're movin' right along
Jeanette: Footloose and fancy-free
Kermit: Getting there is half the fun
Come share it with me
Everyone: Movin' right along
We'll learn to share the load
Fozzie: We don't need a map
To keep this show on the road
Despite this, Kermit still had the map handy. Lucy longed for the GPS on her phone, but knew it would be of no use here. She cringed watching Kermit fumble with the map. "Alright, Fozzie. Turn left at the fork in the road."
Up ahead, there was a giant fork stuck in the middle of the road. "Hey, Kermit," Fozzie called.
Kylie rolled her eyes. "I'll get it." They stopped the car so she could pull it out.
After that brief detour, the song picked up again.
Jeanette: Movin' right along
We've found a life on the highway
Fozzie: And your way is my way
Kermit: So trust my navigation
Fozzie: California, here we come, the pie-in-the-sky-land
Palm trees and warm sand
Though sadly we just left Rhode Island
"We did what? " Kermit was confused. He knew they were nowhere near Rhode Island when they started, so something must be wrong.
"Just forget it ," Fozzie insisted. "We can keep going from here."
Everyone: We're movin' right along
Kermit: Hey LA, where have you gone?
Lucy: Send someone to fetch us
We're in Saskatchewan
Everyone: We're movin' right along
Kermit: You take it, you know best
The next morning, the sun appeared at a weird angle, as though it were rising in reverse.
Fozzie: Hey, I've never seen The Sun come up in the West?
But then, Fozzie started to relax and take in the scenery. "Ah, a bear in his natural habitat...a Studebaker."
"Yeah," Lucy took in the scenery. "I remember taking long road trips to the Carolinas, but this is quite scenic. I've never been to this corner of the country before."
"It's quite nice," Jeanette added. "You can come visit if you want."
"Hmmmm...I'll think about it," Lucy answered back not knowing if she could.
Up ahead, a large canary, eight feet tall with a suitcase, was waking down the road nonchalantly. "Hey look," Lucy pointed at the Big Bird. "That guy looks lost. Should we give him a ride?"
"Good idea," Fozzie pulled over and rolled down his window.
"He's pretty big," Kylie winced. "I mean, there's barely enough room in here for the five of us."
Jeanette rolled down her window and waved at the bird. "Hi, do you want a lift?"
"No, thanks," Big Bird answered. "I'm on my way to New York City to make my big break in public television."
Fozzie gave him an awkward glance, but Lucy gave a thumbs up. Maybe the Fairy Godmother would have her help Big Bird next. "Good on you, dude!" She nodded. "Wish you all the best."
"Thanks," the canary waved back.
The song picked up yet again:
Everyone: Movin' right along
We're truly birds of a feather
We're in this together
And we know where we're going
Kylie: Movie stars with flashy cars
And life with the top down
Kermit: We're storming the big town
Then, a freak snowstorm appeared from nowhere, stopping the flow of the song.
Fozzie: Yeah, storm is right, should it be snowing?
Uh, no, I don't think so," Kermit grimaced. Though they were able to be released from the snowstorm.
Everyone: We're movin' right along
Footloose and fancy-free
You're ready for the big time
Kermit: Is it ready for me?
For the last bridge, everyone sang together.
Movin' right along
Movin' right along
Movin' right along
Movin' right along
After more and more driving, the gang saw a dreaded sign up ahead.
"Uh oh," Lucy exclaimed. "That's one of these Doc Hopper billboards."
"Try pulling over," Jeanette suggested. "Maybe Lucy or Kermit can talk to him."
Fozzie did just that. Doc Hopper approached and saw Kermit again. "Ah, Kermit. And his lovely agent." Lucy gagged at this. "I found you just where I want you."
Doc Hopper motioned to the billboard. "See this? This is what I was talking about. Kermit the Frog, face of Doc Hopper's French-Fried Frog Legs." Kermit and Lucy both gazed in shock seeing Kermit's face on the frog leg bucket. "Isn't it splendid?"
Kermit growled back. "All I see are millions of frogs on tiny crutches."
"Besides, I hate frog legs," Lucy added. "My client and I cannot endorse this behavior."
Doc Hopper moved in closer. "Now listen, boy. Don't you want to be rich and famous."
"Not working for you, I don't," Kermit snapped.
"Oh, we're a small time operation, but we can expand. Don't you frogs expand?"
Kermit was offended. "No, that's a myth."
"What?"
"Myth, myth!"
"Yes?" The same lady from the El Sleazo appeared on cue.
Lucy just rolled her eyes. She couldn't take it anymore. "Fozzie, burn rubber!"
"Yes, ma'am!" And with that, Fozzie sped away again.
