Dumbledore was dead. The one person in his life that he thought would always be there, gone.

"Harry?" Ginny asked as she sat down next to him on the floor. The common room was completely deserted.

"I'm fine." He said even though she hadn't asked.

"Okay." She said.

"I'm fine. I'm okay." He said again as if trying to convince himself.

She intertwined her fingers with his. They just sat there, hand in hand, in complete silence.

"I can't do this anymore."

"I know." She wrapped her arms around him.

"Why... why does it have to be me? Why me? Why can't I be a normal kid? Why can't I just try and make it through school with normal people problems? Why me, Ginny? Why?" He sobbed.

"Sometimes bad things happen to good people." Ginny said.

"I miss them, I miss all of them."

"I know you do, I can't even imagine what it feels like." She said.

"It's all my fault. If I hadn't been born-"

"Don't say that. Don't you ever, ever say that again. I can't imagine living without you." Ginny said.

"I don't want to- I don't think I can do it anymore," He cried. "It hurts too much, I can't do it... I just want it to end."

She pulled him closer.

"I don't know what to do anymore. I just- I just want to be normal."

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Ginny kissed his head. He buried his head in her shoulder and cried. "I'm sorry."

"I don't- just make it stop. I don't want to do it anymore. I'm tired... so fucking tired."

"I know, I know Harry." She rubbed his back comfortingly.

"I just want to leave, I just want to go. I just want to leave... I don't know where but I just want to take you and disappear from this nightmare I seem to be trapped in..."

"I wish it was that easy, but it's not." Ginny said.

"We're just kids, we shouldn't be fighting in a fucking war. I'm just a kid. I can't kill him, I can't. I can't lose anything else,"

"You have me, you'll always have me," She promised.

"No, no I can't ask you for that," He protested.

"You're not asking," She said. "I'm telling you, I'll always be by your side."

He pulled back to look at her. He knew he needed to do it. He couldn't lose her as well. He wouldn't be able to survive if he lost her. He loved her, maybe that's why he had to do it. He couldn't love anyone without putting them in danger.

"Not yet," Ginny said. She seemed to understand what he was thinking. "Don't do it yet. Let yourself have this for a little longer, Just a few more days."

"I can't, if he finds out-"

"If he wanted to find out, he would have by now. Just a few more days."

'Just a few more days.' Her voice repeated in his head.

He bent down and kissed her gently on the lips. She cupped his cheek with one hand and the other found his hand. She wiped away his tears.

'I love you.' He wanted to say.

"I know." She kissed him again softly. "I know."
