Hello! Welcome to my little story. This is mainly something I've seen around and would LOVE to try my hand at. I've yet to see it like this though (maybe I'm not the first, lol. I'd have to search more). But what if we recounted ALL of the HTTYD series, including the TV show(s)? (Is it counted as one, two, or even three? I'm not sure.) So please sit back, and enjoy the characters, young and old, new and familiar react to the legacy of Hiccup, and his beloved Night Fury.

*Note: Since the dragons can't really communicate with humans, I've decided to put their speech in thought format. They CAN communicate with one another through thought, as I've read in some fanfictions. An innovative idea, thank you to all who use it :).

*Another note: There are little kids - specifically Hiccup's kids - so yes, expect speech slurs a little, and slightly off vocab. That's a STYLISTIC choice (lol), and not a grammar mistake. They are young children after all.

Many islands. Vast. Wide. No human intervention was key to their survival. At least, for now. The Hidden World, as the majestic creatures that inhabit it would say, was a place dragons would need no worry against the evil of humanity. Not to say all humans were awful and deluded, as many dragons who were here had ties to humans they loved. It was difficult to leave them behind, but they knew it was for their best interest.

The most powerful of the Hidden World was their sovereign ruler. Sterkur, as he was called amongst his people, well, dragons, was the strongest, most brave of them all. He was a Night Fury after all, and with the help of his beloved mate, they ruled the Hidden World with preciseness and fairness. Though he was a feared, but fair, ruler, Toothless, as he was affectionately named did miss the one who saved him. That one-legged, beansprout-built Viking, his human. It had been nearly a decade since they had seen one another, and there were nights he yearned to fly with that tiny weight on his back.

But, alas, that was the past. He missed his human with his whole being, but he had a duty. He was also now a father, and those little fledglings kept him busy.

The great king perched atop a steep cliff, overseeing everything that came through his dragon-dome. Toothless heard the grass shift behind him, with soft step gliding behind him.

'Is everything alright with you, dear?' A gentle warble came from behind him.

'Yes, milady.' Toothless feigned a smile, the best he could, that is.

'Oh, don't pull 'everything is okay, dear' on me. I know you enough to know when you're upset.' The Light Fury behind him scoffed.

'Ok fine, you caught me.' The great beast sighed. 'I'm just remembering Hiccup is all.'

'Hiccup.' Dawn ('cause I'm not creative enough) responded. 'You mean your little human friend.'

'Precisely. It's been nearly a decade and I can't forget about that one-legged creature.'

'Oh Toothless, you must remember, "Those who are most important are the ones you'll never forget." You spent years with that human. Such a bond you had cannot be replaced, and remember, he let you go for your happiness.'

'He did.' Toothless sighed. 'I just hope he'd never forget me.'

'I don't think that would ever happen. You're the kind of dragon that's unforgettable.'

'I hope you're right, darling.' He nuzzled his mate, sighing. Did Hiccup forget about him?

Back on an island, many many miles away was a small settlement. This was New Berk. A village founded by its founding father and chief, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. What was once a scrawny town laughingstock was now someone everyone admired. The successor to the legendary Stoick the Vast, royal in his own right. Now though, he was feeling some despondency. Even now, many years later, he could never shake the feeling of loss and dread that came from losing his best friend. His confidant. It was kind of incredible to him though. The one he trusted most, was a non-speaking, fire-breathing, overgrown reptile. But now, he was gone, to rule a land all his own.

But not all was lost for the New Berkian chief. He had a loving wife, the strong-willed Astrid. Not to forget his two small beautiful children. Zephyr, his five-year-old daughter, whose personality reflected much of his. Though she shared her mother's blue eyes, she was much more like her father. On the contrary, their three-year-old son, Nuffink was much more like Astrid. He was quick-witted, rowdy, and rambunctious, and he LOVED pulling pranks. Even after many scoldings, the young boy just never gave up. Hiccup assumed it was something to do with lessons from Uncle Tuffnutt. Hiccup was in his den, doodling a sketch at his desk, something he adapted in his free-time.

A squeal of surprise and anger erupted somewhere from the other room. Hiccup knew pretty soon, he'd be in the middle of a screaming match once again. When children are present, quiet is not the first thought for them.

"DADDY!"

And there went the peace and serenity.

He stood up quickly, and before he could say anything, two pairs of arms wrapped around each his legs.

"Daddy, tell him to stop pulling pranks on me!" Zephyr screamed obnoxiously.

"I did not! You mad I am smarter than you." Nuffink retorted.

"Are not!" "Am so!" "Are not!" "Am so!" The constant battle of words pursued. Hiccup was already developing a small headache from it, but he was a patient father. He quietly separated the two, and leaned down in between them.

"Look, it doesn't matter who's smarter than the other. There are to be no pranks in this house, or in the village. Nuffink, you know your sister doesn't like it when you prank her." He scolded lightly. Nuffink flinched a little, even if his dad hadn't raised his voice. He didn't like to upset the chief.

"Zephyr, you're older and lead by example. You are the next in line for chieftess. No more arguing with your brother. Come to me or your mother, and we will handle it." Hiccup settled with his irritated five year old. Even Hiccup knew, being five and three, they wouldn't listen for long. "Just try to act a little better, got it?"

"Yes, Daddy." The two chorused.

"Good." Hiccup said. "Now go outside and play nicely."

The two obeyed and disappeared to play outside with their friends.

"Finally, some peace and quiet," Hiccup muttered. "Now where was I?"

"And since when did you ever get peace or quiet, Hiccup Haddock?" A feminine voice came from behind him. Of course, it was Astrid.

Hiccup laughed lightly. "I guess never." Hiccup shrugged.

"Exactly." Astrid said, coming up being the chief. She watched as her husband drew a very familiar face. "Hiccup, that's supposed to be..."

"Toothless," Hiccup replied. "Yeah, it just came to my mind. Helps me remember the big guy and that point in our lives."

"Well, it's a gorgeous one. It's hard to believe it's been ten years almost." Astrid said.

"I wonder, does he remember me?" Hiccup pondered.

"I'm sure he does." Astrid stroked his cheek lovingly. "You are one no one could possibly forget, Hiccup Haddock."

"Same goes for you, Astrid Hofferson-Haddock."

"No, it's just Astrid Haddock. I'm your proud wife and right arm." Astrid corrected.

*Meanwhile, in a secret movie theater somewhere among this green Earth. (Maybe 'cause I can't come up with a plausible location).*

"Are you sure this is what you wanna do?"

"Yep. I think it's a great way to show their legacy."

"I agree. It's showtime."

Together, the entities pressed a giant, blue button. With that, they teleported all the main characters, past, and future, into the realm of cinema.
