Summary: When Kat escapes the prison world she ended up in after she was killed in VD S8, she goes looking for Lucifer, knowing he's back from hell. When a vampire enemy comes out from nowhere, can Lucifer save her in time? If so, what will happen between them?
It was a dismal night, as a human Kat walked through the LA streets. She'd recently escaped a prison world. Now that she was out and had ended up in LA, she knew who to go to. The only person that would always understand and care for her, no matter what. Well, she couldn't really call him a person, since he wasn't human, but they understood each other. After her time as his Queen of hell, they'd come to have some kind of connection. She wasn't sure what kind it was though, considering she knew about the cop he loved dearly. She wasn't about to ruin that relationship, but she needed help. She was human again, which meant if her enemies didn't find out that she was human, it would be a human way that she'd die. She didn't want that to happen, so she was going to ask for help. If Lucifer protected her, then she was sure that she'd live as a normal human.
About an hour later, she entered Lucifer's famous bar, heading for his penthouse, all the while getting the familiar feeling that something was about to happen. She wasn't sure what would happen though, so she was trying to be cautious. It was hard to in a crowded club though, which she knew wasn't good. Not for her. Not when she was only human with no real abilities when it came to protecting herself.
Suddenly, half way through the club, when she was heading for the stairs, she was grabbed and pushed up against a wall by someone.
"Well, well. Look who decided to come back to life," the vampire said. Then, a moment later, she felt pain, but she didn't let that stop her. After all, if she did, no one in this club would notice her until it was too late, most likely. They were having too much fun.
"Well, I tend to not stay dead, as you're aware," she replied. She then kicked him off, took the knife out of herself, and stabbed him right in his heart, killing him. She then limped towards the elevator, an arm around her lower stomach wound, as her vision blurred.
When she finally got to the elevator and got in, she leaned against one of the elevator handles, as it took her to his penthouse upstairs. She was starting to lose her strength, but managed to still stay on her feet. Then, when it stopped and opened for her, she limped out of the elevator, before grabbing hold of part of the bar with her free hand.
"Lucifer?" she called, but she didn't hear anything. She knew that meant that she was on her own until Lucifer came back. She didn't have the strength to be waiting on him anymore, but she tried. With the strength she had left, she did her best to try and get to the couch.
Lucifer entered his club to go home, when he saw something in one of the empty corners. When he went to investigate, he saw what looked to be a dead vampire. There was only one person that he knew that could and would do that. Katherine Pierce. There was blood in the corner too, so he assumed she was injured, which could only mean one thing. She was a human. Knowing that she was a human that was injured from this now dead vampire, he knew that he had to make sure that she was okay. He wouldn't let her die if he could help it. He and Katherine had a unique connection, but it was different from what he shared with Chloe. It was true love between them, but for him and Katherine, it was understanding and loyalty. It may have had some kind of romance involved, but nothing like what he had with Chloe. He knew if she was very injured, every moment counted for her.
When he got up to his penthouse, stepping out of the elevator, he immediately saw the scene. Katherine was definitely injured. She'd managed to end up by his couch, but that was it. Seeing all of this, he rushed to her side, kneeling by her, and used a close by towel to apply pressure to her lower stomach wound.
"Katherine," he said.
"You found me," she replied, vision growing dim.
"I always will," he replied. "Hold on."
As her vision began to go gray, she felt him pull her gently into his arms. Then, what felt like a few moments or so later, she felt a bed and heard the familiar sounds. She knew that it meant that she was at the hospital. Then everything went black for her.
When she woke up, she wasn't feeling any pain or like she was dying anymore. She saw that she was in the hospital. Usually, she didn't care for them, but she stayed where she was.
She slowly sat up in bed.
A few minutes later, she saw Lucifer at the threshold of the room.
"You're awake," he commented, coming in.
"Thanks. You saved my life," she replied. "You're probably wondering what happened after I got killed as the Queen of Hell. I ended up in a prison world. Just tonight, I escaped it. I was on my way to see you, when a vampire enemy got the best of me."
"No need to explain. I'll take care of it. You don't need to worry about a thing," he replied, as he stood at her bedside.
He gave her a smile, in which she returned, grateful to have him on her side, no matter what came their way.
