I couldn't believe what I heard. Ray was Darien's twin sister. While she was on the phone I sat down next to Mina, who heard everything.

"You ok?" She whispered.

"I think so." I knew I had to be honest with Ray and hope for the best. The other question is if I even wanted to have a relationship of any kind with her because of Darien and their father. Ray finished phone call and walked towards me.

"Sorry about that. Are you ready to go?" Ray asked me with a smile.

"yes, but we need to talk before we go."

"Oh, ok." Ray's smiled disappeared. I could tell that she knew this was bad.

"I'm going to give Rini her bath." Mina said getting up from the couch and leaving the room. I gave Rini a kiss as Mina left the room.

"Come and sit down, please. This may change your mind about going out with me tonight, or any other night."

"That bad? If it was the phone call, I'm sorry. I just started this job and I have to"

"It's not about you taking the call." I interrupted.

"Ok, just tell me then."

"I know we just met, and you don't know a lot about me. I work for Shields corp. I am the assistant to Byron Brown."

"The one I'm covering for this coming week?"

"Yes."

"Is that all?" She chuckled.

"No, there's more and that wouldn't be a problem since you are technically in charge of another department."

"Well, then what's the problem?"

"Your bother and your father."

"What about them? I really don't know them that well. I was raised by my mom here in the states."

"Your bother is Rini's father." I tried to gage her response, but it was hard. She just stared at me.

"I didn't know that my brother had a child."

I then told her the entire story about me and Darien and what their father said to me when I found out I was pregnant and how I ended up here in the states. Ray just listened and never said a word until I was done with my story.

"That pig headed bastard." Ray said angrily. "I can't believe Darien would do something like that. Father is another story. I know what he's capable. I always remembered Darien being sweet and protective."

I was honestly shocked with her response.

"Rena, I am so sorry that they did that to you and to sweet Rini. I am not Darien or my father. If you still want to go to dinner, I'm still up for it." Her smile was so sweet. She was so beautiful.

"Yes, I'd love that." Getting up slowly from the couch when she reached out for my hand and placed my hand in hers.

Three Hours Later

We were walking slowly up to my front door hand in hand.

"Dinner was amazing, and the restaurant was great." I said.

"I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I really enjoyed spending time with you."

"Yea, me too." We were now in front of the door. We were now face to face and Ray leaned in and kiss me. At first, I was shocked, but I found myself kissing her back. Our lips parted for a moment but then found themselves together again. Wanting more. Wanting to taste more of her. We parted again so that we could breath.

"I better go in." I said breathlessly.

"Ok, but can we do this again? And soon?"

"How about tomorrow you come with us for a picnic? We usually have one on Saturdays." I suggested.

"Sure. What time?"

"10:30 sound good?"

"I'll be here." Ray said as she kissed my cheek and walked away.

Man, what was I getting myself into?
