Chapter 2 -
"Now that he is gone," Professor Xavier said once Dumbledore had left. "I want to let you know Harry that I am really sorry about this, but from what I have discussed with Stephen you must go." He did not need to explain who Steven was, Harry and Wanda knew him as none other than Doctor Stephen Strange, sorcerer supreme.
"Why does he have to go?" Wanda asked.
"I had already explained this to Harry last night."
"What? You didn't tell me?!" Wanda demanded as she turned to Harry.
"I was going to tell you in the morning but then I got side tracked by Kurt."
"Apparently in Britain there are magical contracts formed when you are younger for you to be sent to Hogwarts, because Harry's birth parents had accepted him into Hogwarts a magical contract had been formed where he must attend Hogwarts until he has completed two sets of exams, the first being one called 'OWL exams' with the second being 'NEWT' exams." Professor Xavier explained.
"What if Harry broke the contract?" Wanda asked.
"He would lose his magic according to Doctor Strange, if not for the contract then I would have refused Dumbledore and sent you to an American school."
"It's fine," Harry waved him off. "but quick question, what if I get expelled?"
"Then you are out of the contract and more than free to do whatever you want." Professor Xavier replied.
"Hmm." Harry said with a thoughtful look as his claws came out of his hands.
"No Harry, you can't kill them." Xavier rolled his eyes.
"Spoilsport." Harry said as his claws retracted. "Can we go now?"
"Yes, you too may go." Professor Xavier nodded. "Do have fun, however tomorrow can you both please be ready after lunch so you can go get your supplies?"
"Yes sir, bye Professor." Harry said as he walked off with Wanda following, she still had her arms wrapped around his. "I wouldn't have left you, you know." Harry said to Wanda in a quiet voice.
"I know, but what if they tried to take you away?" She asked in a quieter voice.
"Then we'd cut and blast them away." Harry said as if it was obvious. "You're not getting rid of me that easily. Now come on, I haven't eaten yet." Harry added just as they arrived back in the canteen.
Harry and Wanda took their food before they sat at a table, seconds later three other people sat down next to them. The first was Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops, he was a brown haired boy with a special visor that kept him from blasting everyone due to his mutant power which caused destructive beams to shoot out of his eyes. The second person who sat was a lovely red headed girl with brown eyes, her name was Jean grey and possessed telepathy and telekinesis.
The third person was Kurt Wagner, also known as Nightcrawler and possessed the ability to teleport, he was covered in blue fur and had pointed ears, iridescent eyes, and a prehensile tail that had a tip shaped like an arrow tip.
"What did the Professor say?" Jean asked as they all began eating.
"Well, right after Kurt stole my breakfast..." Harry paused to glare at Kurt.
"I didn't know it vas yours!" Kurt protested. "It vas just there!"
"Not a good excuse," Harry said before he turned back to Jean. "anyway, I have to attend a magical school in Britain, Wanda's coming with me."
"Naturally." Scott said, it was common knowledge in the school that Wanda and Harry were inseparable.
"You want to say something?" Wanda asked in a warning tone.
"No!" Scott said quickly, shaking his head. He knew that he was definitely not as destructive or dangerous as Wanda.
"Anyway, I..." Harry continued only to be interrupted.
"Hey," Everyone turned to see Logan standing behind them. "with me now," He said to Harry, "you too." He added to Wanda as he knew that the girl would hear about everything anyway.
"But we haven't eaten yet!" Harry protested.
"Fine," Logan rolled his eyes. "eat then hurry up and meet me outside."
"You want something old man?" Harry asked as he and Wanda met Logan outside.
"Watch who you are calling old," Logan warned. "Professor Xavier told me how you two are going to England tomorrow, I am coming with you."
"Alright." Harry nodded.
"Remember, you two don't take no shit from nobody. Do not start anything but make sure to finish it, just don't go overboard."
"Got it." Harry said.
"And you," Logan said to Wanda. "it's no secret that you are not the calmest girl around, Charles is showing a lot of trust in you and Harry by letting you go. So am I, do not let me down."
"Got it." Wanda said, she was tempted to argue but even she would admit (not out loud) that she was far from stable.
"I assure you that it will be fine." Dr Stephen Strange said to Professor Xavier and Logan as they talked in his office. "This won't be a problem."
"I don't believe that it will be a problem but I still think it is a good idea for me to ask you to please try and keep Wanda and Harry together with each other." Professor Xavier replied.
"I think what Chuck is trying to say is it will be a lot safer for everybody involved if the two stay together." Logan said.
"What do you mean?" Dr Strange frowned, he had only seen the children a few times but remembered that in his limited experience they were pretty much always together.
"Wanda and Harry are both...strong...children," Professor Xavier said with a small sigh. "they both are capable of a great many things, however the two are also in a unique situation where together they are calmer and basically more tame than if they are separated. It's not my place to explain but..."
"Long story short, don't separate the two." Logan said impatiently.
"But how will they handle school?" Dr Strange asked.
"They will be fine sleeping in separate rooms and being separated for a while but at school they will also be able to spend time with each other." Professor Xavier responded. "I will admit that I am tempted not to send Wanda but with Harry going I fear that it will be better for everyone's health if Wanda were to go with him. He is the only person able to control her without any force and she calms his inner animal. Though I will ask the two to keep in regular contact in case there are any problems." The Professor was about to continue when two people entered.
"Ah, Harry and Wanda," Professor Xavier said the next day as Harry and Wanda entered his office. "I am glad you are both here." Professor Xavier said.
Wanda was wearing knee length black boots and a black skirt, she also had a black leather jacket and a red shirt. Today she was wearing her hair in a ponytail. Harry wore black trainers, blue jeans, a white shirt and a black leather jacket that matched Wanda's. Harry also had on a grey cap.
Harry and Wanda saw that Logan was there, wearing the same clothes as yesterday except he also had a leather jacket. They also could not help but notice the other person who was here. "You both remember Dr Strange." Professor Xavier said as he gestured to Dr Strange.
Dr Strange was a tall man with grey hair on the sides of his head with brown hair on the top that was combed back apart from a dashing swoop in the front. Right now he was currently wearing a regular grey suit, instead of his usual sorcerer supreme clothes.
"Hello Dr Strange." Harry said, remembering how the man did not like to be called Mr Strange.
"Mr Potter, Miss Maximoff." Dr Strange nodded. "Are you both ready to go?"
"Ready as we'll ever be doc." Harry replied.
"Fine, let's go, and don't call me doc."
"So what is this place?" Logan asked when they arrived in the Leaky Cauldron.
"They call this the Leaky Cauldron," Dr Strange began explaining. "if anyone wants to go to or from the 'muggle world' they can go to a variety of places including here."
"Muggle?" Logan frowned.
"That is what they call non-magical people." Dr Strange explained before he walked up to the bar keeper. "Excuse me sir."
"Yes?" The bar asked as he looked up from cleaning the bar.
"Hello, I am escorting these people into Diagon Alley, could you perhaps help us get there please?" Dr Strange asked politely.
"Ah, of course. Follow me." The Bar keeper said as he began walking around the bar. "I am Tom, nice to meet you."
"I am Dr Steven Strange." Dr Strange replied as they followed Tom.
"Doctor?" Tom asked. "That's like a healer isn't it?"
"Yes." Dr Strange nodded.
"Hmm, are these your family?" Tom asked as he gestured to Harry and the rest.
"Oh no," Dr Strange said with a small shake of his head. "I am just a friend of their guardian and the man next to me is one of their guardian's employee."
"Hmm, wait there." Tom said as they exited the bar to find a small alleyway, Tom walked over to the brick wall opposite the bar. Tom tapped a pattern on the wall and the wall opened to reveal Diagon Alley. "There you go." Tom smiled at them.
"Thank you." Dr Strange said, the group walked into Diagon alley while Tom walked back to the Leaky Cauldron.
"This looks...chaotic." Harry commented as he looked around and saw a large amount of wizards and witches running in and out of variety of shops.
"It smells worse." Logan grimaced.
"Oh and it just hit me." Harry grimaced as well, he and Logan both had enhanced senses so were able to smell much more than the average person. "Let's just get this over with."
"Our first stop would be the bank." Dr Strange said as he walked forward with the trio of mutants following after him. Soon they arrived at a large white building.
"What the hell are those?" Logan whispered as he looked at the guards.
"Goblins." Dr Strange whispered back. "They dislike humans almost as much as they love money, just be quick and to the point when you talk to them. Matter of fact, stick with me and none of you go anywhere in the bank without me."
"They don't look friendly." Wanda commented as they followed Strange in to the bank.
"That's because they are not." Dr Strange said right before walking up to a teller.
It was half an hour later when they exited the bank, because Harry didn't have a key he had to take a blood test to make sure he was who he claimed to be. After five minutes of talking to a goblin Wanda was close to losing what little control she had on her anger with Harry using considerable effort to stop himself from ripping out the goblin's throat, Logan was close to exploding as well but was far better controlled than the other two thanks to years of practise. But eventually it was done and they were able to leave without any goblin blood on their clothes.
"Right, so we're supposed to get these supplies and crap now." Logan said as he looked at the list of supplies. "I don't know what half of this shit is."
"Fine," Dr Strange sighed. "Mr Potter, you and Miss Maximoff go into that shop there to get fitted for school clothes while Logan and I will get some of the stuff on the list."
"Fine." Harry said before turning to Logan. "Try not to get lost." Harry said with a small smile before he walked with Wanda to the clothes shop, Harry heard Logan swear under his breath but did not comment.
"Come in dear," Madam Malikin, the owner of the robe shop said when she saw Harry and Wanda walk in. "now you are both here for some Hogwarts uniform, correct?"
"Yes ma'am." Harry and Wanda nodded.
"Ah that's good, well you on first young man, getting you done will be quicker. Just stand on the stool there," She said before turning to Wanda. "I am sorry dear but you will have to wait for a moment before someone gets around to you." She said apologetically.
Harry nodded and stepped up on stool, he looked at the other person on the stool. He was a blonde boy with grey eyes who was examining himself in a mirror, Harry could not help but wonder how much time the boy must have spent on his hair. Harry stood still as Madam Malkin got to work.
"Hello," Said the boy. "Hogwarts too?"
"Yep." Harry answered, he didn't want to be rude by refusing to talk.
"My father's next door looking for books and my mother is up the street looking at wands," The boy said in a bored, drawling voice. "Then I am going to drag them off to have a look at racing brooms, I don't see why first years cannot have their own racing brooms. I think I will bully father into getting me one then smuggle it in."
"I am sure that will work out perfectly for you." Harry said in a dry voice.
"Have you got your own broom?" The boy asked, not noticing Harry's tone.
"No, I haven't." Harry said, wondering how much longer the boy was going to talk.
"Play quidditch at all?"
"Not really."
"I do." The boy said proudly. "Father says it's a crime if I am not picked to play for the house team, and I must say that I agree. Do you know what house you will be in?"
"I don't know how to tell the future so no." Harry rolled his eyes and looked to Wanda who also appeared to be growing bored of the boy.
"Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they? But I know I will be in Slytherin, all of my family has been there, imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I would leave, wouldn't you?"
"Listen blondie, I don't really give a shit what house I am in." Harry said bluntly. "Now be quiet for at least a minute please."
"So Harry," Wanda said before the boy could start talking again. "where are we supposed to go after this?"
"We'll either find Logan and Strange or just wait here I suppose." Harry shrugged.
"Hey!" The boy said as he had finally looked away from the mirror to look at them, he took a look at their clothes. "Do you know who I am?!" He demanded.
"Poster boy for hair gel?" Harry guessed.
"I am Draco Malfoy!"
"Are we supposed to care?" Wanda asked, rolling her eyes.
"You can't talk to me like that, you filthy mud..."
"Young man!" Madam Malkin looked up from her work with a stern expression on her face. "You had better not finish that word because if you do then I will tell Mr Malfoy about your behaviour." She warned, Draco's face turned red before he sneered at everyone and walked off. "Goodness me, I am terribly sorry about that." Madam Malkin apologised to Harry and Wanda.
"What was he about to call her?" Harry's eyes narrowed slightly as he stared in the direction of Malfoy's retreating form.
"He was about to call her a horrible world, 'mudblood', it means those with muggle family." Madam Malkin explained. "Just ignore him, he doesn't know what he's talking about."
"Ignore, right...sure." Harry said as several images come into his head, many of them not really suitable enough to be shown to younger kids.
A.N: Hi guys, hope you liked the chapter. I know not much happened here but remember that this is early phase of the story and I will try and make the next chapter longer. Magical contract...I admit that that might have not been the best thing but a couple of people pointed out how there should have been more of a fight over going to Hogwarts which I realised was right. I will talk more about it in future chapters. Just want to say a few things:
1) First of all, Charles Xavier's stance on killing, now I will admit that most of my dealings with the character have been through cartoons (where he would absolutely not kill) and the movies. I don't know much about the comics, but I have read some fics where he does not support it at all but I have also read others where he can understand the necessity of it even though he doesn't like it. The second one is the one I am going with, to be fair I think if the man is willing to have the human slicer Wolverine on his team then he probably understands that it might be needed sometimes.
2) In case it was not clear, this story does not follow any specific X-men films, TV shows, etc. In this story I will take and use from various different sources, sometimes it might be X-Men evolution, I might from the cartoon from 1989, basically just a mix of X-Men.
3) Pairings: Yes, this is not MCU Wanda, I am basing this Wanda off the one in X-Men evolution, she will be troubled, have little social experience, be unstable and so on. As for the actual pairings of this story, there are some stories where I will absolutely not change the pairings (for example i'm not a hero or Lightning curse) while there are other stories where I can consider it (like Apex). As of the moment I am undecided, I am tempted to add Emma Frost into the pairing (of course if I did then she would also have to be different from other versions, much like this Wanda) but I have not decided yet. You'll have my answer on that by the next chapter.
Thanks for reading, next chapter will be longer and have them get their wands and some more time at the X-mansion before they go off to Hogwarts. Feel free to leave a review.
