It was nighttime in Metroville and everyone was asleep except for Bob. He woke up to check on his kids. He quietly walked into Jack-Jack's room and saw him sleeping quietly. He smiled and put his blanket over him. He walked out of Jack-Jack's room and checked on Dash. He walked into Dash's room as Dash woke up slowly.
"Hey Dad." Dash said and yawned. "Is it time for school?"
"Nope. Just checking on you. How are you?"
"I'm good. I had an amazing dream. You wanna hear it?"
"Maybe in the morning. For now back to sleep."
"Okay. Goodnight Dad."
"Goodnight son." Bob said as he ruffled Dash's hair as Dash went back to sleep and Bob left his room to see the last but not least of his children. Violet.
He slowly opened his door and saw her sleeping soundly. He smiled but before he could leave she started shivering. He looked at the window and saw it was open and it was blowing cold wind to her. He knows if he doesn't do anything she's gonna get sick. He tip-toed quietly and closed the window. The window was closed but Violet was still shivering. He got another blanket over her and he brushed her hair out her face.
"Dad?" Violet said as she woke up.
"Sorry Vi. I didn't mean to wake you up. I'm just checking up at you."
"It's okay. I was going back to sleep."
"Alright. Goodnight Violet."
"Goodnight. Wait. One more thing."
"What?"
She stood on her bed, hugged him and said "I love you Dad." And kissed him on the cheek.
"I love you too Vi." He tucked her in, kissed her on the forehead and left her as Violet went back to sleep.
He went back to his room as he saw Helen sleeping. He held her in his arms and kissed her on the lips.
"Bob?" Helen said.
"Yes Honey?"
"I love you. So much." Helen kissed Bob on the forehead as she went back to sleep.
"I love you more honey." Bob said as he went to sleep.
