Before We Go
The story of Before we Go is base on the chance meeting of a Trumpet Player Nick Vaughan who is busking at Grand Central Terminal and Brooke Dalton who while running to catch a train, drops her phone in front of him. Being a good samaritan, Nick sees the anguished Brooke standing outside the terminal and returns her broken phone. Brooke confesses that she has been robbed and is trapped in the city.
Nick attempts to help Brooke get back to Boston but circumstances due to lack of funds force them to find ways to find the money. Nick decides to help find her missing purse by tricking the bartender that knew who was behind the theft. Nick's attempts however achieve a punch in the nose and no purse. As they walk the streets Nick and Brooke reveal their situation and begin to understand who they are as individuals and form a trust and understanding.
Nick's Story
Nick a Premed student meets and falls in love with Hannah Dempsey who was the force that encouraged him to pursue his love of music. The night he was about to propose marriage , Hannah decides to break it off and they haven't seen each in six years. Nick has maintained a lingering need to know what happened, was it that he didn't do enough to save the relationship or was it something else. Tonight was to be the night that they were to actually see each other only to find out that she is with someone else. Brooke encourages Nick to suck it up and actually talk to Hannah and know once and for all. Hannah reveals she is pregnant and happier than she has ever been. Nick gets his resolve that a relationship with Hannah is over forever. The news makes Nick doubt his desire to fulfill his dream to audition for a band that he has wanted to play with for a while.
Brooke's Story
Brooke is Married to Micheal who she loves and moved from London to be with him. After discovering that Micheal was having an affair Brooke found herself distraught and hurt but didn't leave because she felt the marriage was worth saving. When Brooke found a message that Micheal was to meet his Mistress again, Her anger and grief... she wrote a blistering letter along with her wedding rings and left it for him. She is in New York to find a Job as a Art Dealer. When she talks to her husband she realizes that he has broken off the relationship and is headed home early. Brooke once again has the desire to save the marriage calls a friend to retrieve the letter so that Micheal doesn't read it. However , she couldn't retrieve it. Nick tells Brooke that her husband will most likely understand why she wrote the letter and that if he doesn't, it's his loss.
As they continue walking Nick and Brooke come across a psychic reading store , that Brooke encourages Nick to partake with her:
Nick: We have no money
Psychic: I know…. Who is going first
Brooke points to Nick

Nick suggest that they unwind in the room that his friend has booked. Once in the room Brooke and Nick share their first kiss and spend the next few hours playfully but the eventual goodbye.
To put their goodbyes into proper perspective the phone game they have played throughout the night is started by Nick
