Two Goron descended deeper into the active volcano they knew as home. Their destination an isolated lava pit near the back of their village. Most Goron besides their leader had little luck making children, but they were hoping their combined passion would be enough.
Koron and Daruniel came to the edge of the pit together with a large rock and held it between their two enormous hands, each leaning in to give it a lingering kiss infused with all their love for eachother. They then locked eyes and moved as one, hurling the rock over the side of the safety fence erected around the pit.
The rock swerved through the air and made a solid splash in the molten liquid. Koron took Daruniel's hand in his own and pressed a kiss to the back of it. Then, they waited. They waited for a sign it had worked, that their love was strong enough. The lava settled at first, but after a time started moving, bubbles rising to the surface a few at a time. The pace of the bubbles breaking the surface increased steadily until they were bursting forth without any time between, the sizzling and hissing noises made by it reaching a crescendo as the rock shot back out of the pool towards the couple.
Daruniel gasped and his arm shot straight up, just in time to catch the reshaped rock, bringing it down for inspection as the lava remnants dripped off and cooled on the ground around them.
Koron rested his head on Daruniel's shoulder as he pressed close to his back for a better look-
To his great joy, the rock emitted a low whine and uncurled to reveal a newborn Goron in his perfectly pudgy partner's palm.
"….Oh, I can't believe it! We did it! We did it!" Koron jumped up and down heavily, jostling Daruniel who shook him off before the action shook up their baby too much.
"We did! We did great!" He leaned in to give Koron a brief kiss before ushering them back around towards the village. "We have to hurry back and show everyone!" Daruniel dashed off, holding their barely formed child to his chest and Koron gave a shout and followed just behind.
"Hey! Let me hold him! We didn't even talk about names!"
