Hi Folks! Here's story #5 in my anthology series. I hope you are enjoying it although I did not get much reaction from the last ficlet. I hope this one is better and based on a beautiful drawing which again I will try to change on the title part of this fiction. Thank you so much for your reviews and favorites and followings! As always - Carebearmaxi.

The Announcement

It had been a long flight back from Boston to see Harvey's brother and family. Since it had been Sunday when they left they all followed a new tradition and visited church with Marcus, Katie, and their children Haley and Marcus, Jr. No time to change into traveling clothes, however, Donna made sure the girls were comfortable in little pant sets of colors in pink and yellow. Each toddler dressed in a different color gave the children their own identity plus it helped everyone else know who was Lily and who was Mimi.

Regardless of their toddlers' surprisingly good behavior, Harvey and Donna were rather exhausted. Donna much more than Harvey it seemed. As Harvey unlocked the door of the house with Donna and the girls standing behind him, he wanted nothing more than to divest himself of his suit. He had to wear them for work, so on the weekend he liked to kick back if he could. Donna was dressed in her dark maroon Mouret dress with deep cleavage and caped shoulders.

Donna followed her daughters as they ran to their toys like rushing water behind a dam. Lily tripped on the way to her electronic laptop, so Mimi tried to help her up.

"Lily, you hurt?" Mimi asked.

Lily looked like she wanted to cry for a minute and then when Mimi asked her, she smiled and shook her head. "No".

Donna was going to rush over to see if Lily was hurt, but Harvey held her off and nodded his head for her to look at the two of them.

She smiled and put her arm around Harvey's waist rubbing his back proudly looking at their offspring. Harvey had put his arm around Donna and kissed her on the cheek. He stepped forward to play with his daughters crawling down on the floor in front of them.

"Daddy! You be the duck," Mimi commanded.

"Why am I the duck, Mimi?"

"Just because daddy," Mimi lisped.

"Well, counselor, your argument is not good enough," Harvey teased as he grabbed Mimi and started tickling her all over while Mimi giggled and lisped…"Daddy, thstop!"

Lily feeling left out jumped on top of Harvey, too, shouting " Daddy duck!"

Harvey rolled with both of them in his arms and they continued to have a rousing time as Donna watched. She put her hand to her head and then to her stomach as watching her family play together made her suddenly seasick. She ran into the bathroom and vomited all the food she had thrown down her gullet before church. She hoped she had caught nothing on the plane. Those places were germ infested tubes with wings she always thought having caught colds or worse every time she traveled. Always, it seemed except for their trip to Tuscany for the second wedding. The twins had been only five months old at the time, but they had flown like champs and been the hit of their wedding. Not only did Donna nor her family not contract an unwelcomed condition, six weeks later they had discovered she had carried something else from that wedding trip and honeymoon. Sadly, two weeks before the safe period, Donna miscarried.

She had suffered depression for a good three months causing her to not be interested in her work or her children or her husband. It had been hard for Harvey but once he had understood he had given her the space for her to return to him. Finally after a year she had gone to him and said she wanted to try again. Donna hoped their trying at finally paid off.

While she waited for the test results sitting in the bathroom, Donna ventured back into the living room where Harvey was still dressed in his blue suit with jacket and vest but this time was sedately playing barnyard farm with the girls. While Harvey kept the twins busy, Donna leaned against the wall in the large house's hallway which led to other parts of the large home. She watched amused as Harvey Reginald Specter, one-time ladies' man, clucked like a chicken and imitated other barnyard animal noises to the giggles of his twin daughters

Harvey was clucking like a chicken as Lily started to encroach on his side of the barn and steal the hay from his nest. Lily was the cow of the barn and self-proclaimed ruler of the roost. Suddenly, Mimi wanted hay as well and began a little more stealthily to encroach on the chicken's nest. Mimi was only the horse and Lily was having none of it. They both started to push each other out of the way of the chicken's nest which set the chicken clucking.

Harvey clucked taking the plastic chicken first pointing to the cow telling it in no uncertain terms to stop stealing the hay. Lily giggled and said, "You're silly daddy! Chickens don't do that!"

Then Harvey took the chicken and clucked it long and low at the horse. Mimi giggled then and said, "Daddy you're scaring my horse!"

Eventually, Harvey decided he had had enough being a chicken and kissing his two little pumpkins stood up looking at his wife who had just come into the room looking pale and shocked, yet her smile was brilliant in the dim light from the lamp just lit in the living room as the evening was darkening the sky.

Donna stood in the middle of the living room surveilling the three. Harvey had risen and came behind Donna putting his arms around her waist from the back. His head nuzzled her shoulder. She heard him murmur to her as he buried his head in the sweetspot of her neck.

"Are you ok?"

Donna smiled but Harvey could not see holding her from behind. She put her hands on his hands as they lay on her flat belly,

"I'm well. Really well." Donna could hardly keep the joy from her voice.

Harvey kissed her shoulder. "So where were you?"

"In the bathroom cleaning up."

"Were you sick again?" Harvey asked concerned but a bit relieved when he saw the light in her eyes when she turned her head to look at him behind her.

"What's going on?" Harvey asked as he took a look at their two little red hair babies.

"Let's just say this time next year you may have a son to cuddle."

"You mean you were?"

"Yep, I was. I took one this morning before we left for church and the result was the same."

"A new baby?" Harvey asked in an excitedly quiet voice. He just wanted to savor this moment with his wife. His hands came together over Donna's flat belly.

She angled her head to whisper her excitement and to keep an eye on the twins' doings.

She moved her hands over his and look down. "Welcome little one."

When Donna looked back, Harvey's eyes were welled with tears of joy. His hands came to hold her that much tighter and he whispered in her ear. "I love you."

Donna smiled and moved her head against his. They swayed unconsciously together when Lily and Mimi spotted them and ran to them with their arms held out.

Harvey could not help himself. He told the twins that in a few months they would become big sisters.

Donna laughed at this as the two had no idea what Harvey meant. Harvey's arms went from around Donna to holding the girls. Donna kissed them both and then they scampered off to continue to play with their toys.

Harvey's arms went around Donna again from behind and he strategically placed his hands over his wife's flat belly. Donna laid her hands once again on top of Harvey's and leaned back in his embrace happy in that special announcement with just themselves in their own little love bubble.
