Hey Folks! Here's the latest installment of Lazy Sunday Mornings. This one is prompted by another of Cassie's wonderful pictures. It's Sunday morning and Donna has wants to go somewhere. Things get interesting and then it is revealed more than one person in the Specter family is eager to go. I hope you enjoying these. I am having surgery tomorrow so I may not be so quick on another installment. Let me know what you think. Love-Carebearmaxi.
Harvey's Sunday Morning
Donna dressed in nothing but a pair of sleep shorts and a purple tank top climbed on top of her husband as he was reading the "Journal" and drinking his coffee. Harvey, Donna's husband, was clad only in his white t-shirt and a blue pair of boxers.
"Donna!" Harvey exclaimed almost spilling his coffee all over the bed. He was in the slow process of rising and getting dressed, so he was sitting on the side of the bed when all beautiful 5'9" of his flame haired love pounced on him giving him a start.
"Oops! Sorry, Harvey," Donna said as she checked Harvey and herself to be sure nothing spilled.
Harvey had not moved the paper away from between them on purpose to see if he could get Donna to play with him.
"Harvey!" Donna said in a deeper voice and simultaneously pulled down the paper between them so she could see his face.
He disengaged the paper from her hand and pulled it back up between them, so they were blind to one another again.
This time, Donna attempted to pull the paper down, but Harvey's grip was firm. Really needing to get her husband's attention, she removed the coffee from his hand and leaning on her knees which straddled Harvey's lap placed the coffee cup on the night table. She then tugged again, but Harvey still had a grip. However, Harvey sniggered behind the paper signifying an affectionate game of Tug-Of-War was afoot.
Harvey rustled the paper in front of his wife who secured herself once again on his lap and she tugged again. Again, this tugging led to nothing but Harvey's deep laugh. She tried a third time only to be denied access to her husband's face once again.
Just before she decided two could play at that game, Harvey let go of the paper and grabbed Donna around the waist and rolled her underneath him on the bed.
"Gotcha!" Harvey exclaimed before he started tickling her.
Donna laughed and tried pushing Harvey's devilishly quick hands away from her.
"No, you don't!" Donna tried to say through her laughter. She was almost in tears with how hard Harvey was getting to her.
She giggled hard. Harvey laughed even louder and heartier until he finally slowed and looking into Donna's eyes he kissed her. They pecked and then kissed deeper.
Suddenly a crash came through the sanctity of their bedroom when two little four-year-old red haired mopheads burst through.
"Are we going? Are we going?" The twins yelled at their two entwined parents while they jumped up and down excitedly.
Harvey stopped in his tracks and eyed Lily and Mimi asking, "Go where?"
"On a picnic, Daddy!" Lily cried.
"Yeah, on a picnic!" Mimi echoed.
Not to be outdone, Harvey and Donna's eighteen-month-old son toddle in on his little feet and smiled a Cheshire cat smile so like his daddy's. He wanted to be included on the fun, too. However, when he saw mommy and daddy and heard how loud his sisters were, he started to cry.
Harvey rose up and helped his wife off the bed. While he tended to his two noisy little girls, Donna walked over and picked up little Gordon James.
"Aw, there, there, little sweetie. Your sisters are just excited about a picnic. How about you?" Donna spoke calmly to her little son kissing his chubby fist which had then spilled some Cheerios all over the bedroom floor.
He smiled back at his mom although his big brown eyes were still filled with unshed tears. Donna took him in the master bathroom and wiped his little eyes and played with him sitting him on the counter as they looked in the mirror singing an old show tune "Look at that Face"
"Look at that face, just look at it
Look at that fabulous face of yours
I knew first look I took of it
This was a face that the world would adore"
Gordon smiled and giggled at his mom's antics, so Donna continued keeping an ear out for her husband and daughters on the other side of the room.
"Girls, what are you talking about?" Harvey asked.
"Mommy said we could go on a picnic today at the park because it'th so lovely!" Mimi said with her little lisp quoting her mother.
"Oh, she did, did she?" Harvey asked. He had crouched down and picked up both daughters which, if his back was any indication, was getting harder and harder to do. He placed both girls on the bed and knelt in front of them.
"Yes, can we?" Lily asked.
"Just a second, girls," he said as he rose kissing them both on top of their heads and strode into see his wife who was still with Gordon in their bathroom.
"Donna."
"Harvey," Donna responded.
"Where is this picnic you want us to attend? You didn't say anything about that earlier this week."
"Don't worry. It's Sunday. Your schedule is cleared," Donna said turning around and smiling closed lip with raised eyebrows. She was not getting an argument from him.
Harvey looked at her and then tilted his head in that way when he knew full well it was Donna that perpetrated a transaction on him.
"You had this planned all along and didn't warn me earlier this week so I couldn't back out, didn't you," Harvey stated.
"Mmhmm," Donna nodded still holding the baby. "It's a beautiful Sunday and you don't need to spend another minute in front of the television watching football.
"But-"
"No buts," Donna said as she walked out of the bathroom letting Gordon toddle on his little legs. Then over her shoulder she threw.
"By the way, Mike, Rachel and their kids are coming, too. So, no excuses, Specter."
Harvey smiled. He was only playing with her. He had no intention of refusing her or the children.
Donna stood in the doorway of the bedroom while she watched Harvey jump on the other side of their bed almost dislodging their daughters from their seats saying.
"Ok, Lily and Mimi, we are going on the picnic!"
"Can Lucy and Cooper come to?" Mimi asked.
"I guess they can," Harvey turned to look at Donna.
Donna smiled at her nonplussed husband and said, "Already done. Louis and Sheila are bringing Lucy and Cooper, too."
"Yay!" Everybody cheered. Harvey a little less enthusiastically but still happy, nonetheless.
Harvey rolled around with his daughters for a few more minutes then he chased them from the bedroom looking for his wife who had disappeared with their son.
He found her in Gordon's nursery all blue and decked out in sports themes. She stood at the bureau while Gordon was laying down in his crib. Harvey first went to his son and reached down to rub his belly.
"Sleepy already, big guy?"
Gordon looked up at his dad and wanted to get up, but Harvey calmly put him back down with a kiss on his forehead. "I think you need a nap, big boy, before we go on the picnic," Harvey said quietly.
After settling his son he turned to Donna whose back was to him while she folded clothes in the drawer. He came behind her and wrapped his arms around her. Donna immediately leaned into Harvey's embrace and placed her hands on top of his. He turned her around in his embrace and looked deeply into her green eyes.
He squeezed her as he said to her, "You know, I remember before I was married. My Sundays were very boring. I would either go to a bar and watch games or I would just sit lonely in my apartment. Never had this much excitement sprung on me."
Donna looked up at him and smoothed her arms over his wide shoulders.
"You didn't wake up that lonely, I'm sure. You probably had one or more of your women that you had to throw out of your condo because you didn't want them staying until morning light. Did you at least give them cab fare?"
Harvey rolled his eyes at that sarcastic statement knowing that indeed it was true.
"You are right, Donna, but I like waking up with the same woman in my bed and having our children interrupt us when things start to get interesting," Harvey said smiling his Cheshire Cat smile.
Donna lowered her gaze and smiled. Harvey placed two fingers under her chin so he could look back into her eyes.
"I want to say, thank you, for this. It's all so much better than before."
Donna smiled but blushed as he held her so close. She rarely blushed, but her husband was the only who could evoke color from her otherwise pale slightly freckled skin. She leaned forward and kissed him deeply wrapping her arms around him and caressing his head.
She broke the kiss, and with their heads not far apart, Donna whispered, "You're welcome."
