A/N; Hi it is me JavaJunkieParaSiempre. I am sad to tell you I have completely been locked out of my account, the email I used has been deleted and I can't remember the password so I have no way of getting back in, therefore I will be uploading on this account, because of the rules on here I can't post the old stories or chapters on here, so I will start from where I left off and have this as a part two. I really am sad and I really am sorry but hope you still enjoy my stories. In this chapter I am focusing on the suffering of Luke and Lorelai, as I think season 7 should have been more brave and dived deeper into this, we did get moments like this but not as many as we should considering the season was about this. This chapter has very very slight mentions of self-harm, they are so small it can barely be called that but I am still warning you, enjoy.
Diner Dad, Cute Kid, Coffee Addict, Star's Hollow's Girl
Chapter Three
"So if your bus is late call me," Luke said as he waited at the bus stop with April.
"I will dad" April replied
"And if you realise you forgot something have the school call me and I will bring it in" Luke went on rambling
"I will" April replied rolling her eyes.
"Did I tell you to make sure you look at the bus, don't go to Woodbridge by accident" Luke went on. April rolled her eyes.
"I know, you have told me ten times" April replied "Dad I know how to get a bus I have gotten a bus to school since kindergarten" April reminded him. He sighed.
"Sorry I just worry that is all" Luke replied
"I know, and I appreciate you caring but I am old enough to know what to do," she told him. He had been flapping around since six-thirty making sure she had everything and telling her loads of things, worried and ratty.
The bus pulled up and Luke stood he hugged her tightly and kissed her head seeing her onto it.
"Text me when you get to school or I will worry the bus ended up in a ditch or something" Luke now said. April rolled her eyes but smiled and waved.
"I won't forget if I do you will turn up to school panicked," she told him as she waved as the bus drove off. Luke sighed and turned around to head back to the diner when he saw Lorelai walking in the direction of Sookie's house. His chest hurt at seeing her and he turned his head away hoping she didn't see him but she turned and looked right at him and he knew he was caught.
"Hiya," she said awkwardly as they walked into each other's line of vision
"Hi" he replied looking at his shoes "Oh erm...I am sorry about what happened the other day, I had a word with April and she will try to stay away" Luke said thinking it was best he apologised.
"Don't be sorry, Christopher is a grown man, he should act like one, not like we are still sixteen" Lorelai replied glancing up and seeing he was stood near the bus stop.
"April off to school?" she asked trying to make conversation in an awkward situation.
"Yes, I was panicking about her getting off okay" Luke explained "It's very different having her full time" Luke replied "If she's sick or hurt I have to make sure she gets help, make sure she's fed and clothed and is kept up to date with her check-ups and things" Luke replied.
"Scary right? But I will let you in on a secret, none of us know what the hell we are doing, we take it as it comes, it will get easier once she has been here longer, she will be fine, I had to learn with Rory and I am sure all parents have to do the same" Lorelai explained sensing he was panicking about all of a sudden been solely responsible for a child.
"Thanks, I just don't want to get it wrong" Luke replied with a sigh
"We have to make mistakes to get it right, you will be fine, has Anna been in touch?" Lorelai asked him.
"She's married, that guy and she eloped, April was pretty upset" Luke replied.
"They will make up, mothers and daughters always do" Lorelai reassured him. He nodded and they fell silent.
"Well, I best go...the diner," he said after a few seconds.
"Oh yeah of course, bye Luke" Lorelai replied as he walked past her,
"Luke" Lorelai called he turned around and looked at her
"If you ever need any advise well...I am here okay, I know things are strange but I still would have been thankful for the help when I was younger" Lorelai told him. Luke smiled, though it was a broken smile.
"Thanks," he told her before going to the diner. He told Ceasar he would be down in a few minutes and went upstairs, when the door was closed he blinked back tears, refusing to let them fall, there was nothing he could do about the situation, crying wouldn't help. He walked to his bedside table and threw open the door, taking a small box out. He looked at the clock to check the time and then removed two of the pills from the box, he put them in his mouth swallowing then with some water from the bedside table before he replaced the box and hid them under a pile of socks.
He took deep breathes knowing he had to appear like he was alright, once he felt calmer he went down the stairs and wnt to start work in the diner.
Lorelai returned home feeling very sick after running into Luke. She slammed the door then slid down it on her back, sobbing hard as she missed the love of her life and she wondered how he could just move on, she took her phone out her bag and removed the cover, she had a small blade in there, she grabbed it and sunk the corner into her wrist. It wasn't enough to leave a scar, it would leave only a dot of blood, and it was hard to even notice anything was there, but for the few seconds of pain, she felt like she could cope. Her life seemed like she had moved on as she was married with a stepdaughter but in reality, she was struggling.
