Ruby: Welcome to my new story! It has been awhile hasn't it!
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter they belong to the author.
After everything she had been through, she just had to get away. The pain was too much. So, she had moved away from it all. She had gotten a cottage in the lake district. Here she was not Hermione Granger of the golden trio she was just Hermione. She could laugh and cry and no one would print an article about it. She was free to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. Something she had defiantly lost in the past few years. It was refreshing.
Of course, she missed him but that was something she would just have to live with now. It was her choice. She had saved him, and he had saved her they did not owe each other anything anymore. That was how it needed to be. She took a dep breath in drank her tea and walked outside to begin her new day.
Her days now consisted of running a herbal tea and remedy shop catering to both muggles and witches alike. She had a deal with the magical community here they would let her live her life alone and she would give them a discount on her supplies. It was not much but it worked. She enjoyed it honestly.
Her day was starting as it always did, she opened the shop chatted away to her customers. Gave tourists some tips. A quiet minute for lunch looking over some applications for a shop hand. It was in the afternoon when the shop bell rang, and she looked up a smile on her face for the customer. Only for it to drop when she saw who it was. It was him.
"I would like some tea." He said in a quiet deep voice. His red hair had grown longer since she saw him last. She liked it. She stiffened as he stepped closer all the memories, she had been trying to suppress finally catching up to her. He took another step and those memories slipped through consuming her thoughts. It had been 6 months and now it felt like yesterday she had packed her bags and left.
"We have a variety" She swallowed at the sound of her voice which had gone dry. "What would you like?" She watched him examine the shop carefully.
"What would you recommend?" He asked and smiled the cheeky smile that meant mischief all those years ago but now meant something else entirely. She caught her breath. She knew they would eventually talk but couldn't help but think that it was oddly nice he was only talking about the tea at the moment. That was how they had started after all.
From a cup of tea.
