Summer Rose

"Thus kindly I scatter."

Summer Rose

Summer Rose knew she was in pain, the viscous hole going through the middle of her chest made it very evident, but she didn't feel the pain. It could have been from her body going into shock, or maybe her mind was just so overloaded that the sensation of pain couldn't make its way through, but in the end she knew that this was the end of her story. Here lay Summer Rose, Silver Eyed warrior, stabbed in the back by a traitor and left to bleed out in the middle of nowhere. She fought so hard, snuck her way into the Grimm Lands despite the constant warnings Ozpin had given her, and even managed to make it into the heart of Salem's castle with no one being the wiser.

"Don't worry, I've got your back," she remembered her partner saying, the only one that agreed to help her with this little plan, just moments before her aura broke and a thin straight blade was shoved cleanly through her chest.

"I warned you what would happen if you went down this path," Summer blinked and suddenly there was a figure kneeling over her, covered in a long black cloak, staring down at her with a familiar pair of deep emerald eyes, "I told you that you would die if you ever came to these lands."

Summer couldn't speak, she didn't have the energy and the life was quickly draining from her body, but her silver eyes said it all. She was afraid, afraid of leaving her two daughters alone in the world without a mother, afraid that this one decision would break Tai's already chipped heart, but most of all she was afraid to die.

"Don't worry, they're going to be alright in the end," he said, placing his hand over her heart before his fingers literally sunk into her flesh as if it were made of water, "I've seen it and soon you will to."

Summer could see a bright light now, so bright and warm that it called to her on every level, and didn't even realize she was now floating towards it. That is until a hand grabbed hers and rooted her back to reality, the sight of her now dead body resting below her threatened to send Summer into a panic attack.

"I-I'm really gone, aren't I?" Summer was too numbed to notice the echo her voice now had, too in shock to see that her form was now transparent, "I'll never get to hold my girls again, will I Harry?"

Harry lowered his hood and shook his head, "You will, some day. When they've grown old and died peacefully in bed, surrounded by those they've come to care for. I promise you this, you'll hold them again."

"Can you watch over them for me? Do what you can to keep them safe?"

"As much as I'm allowed to do, I will."

Summer smiled down at him, letting her hand slip from his grasp and float up towards the light once more; feeling even lighter. She didn't see the small white rose petal that was clutched in Harry's hand, nor did she see it bleed into a bright red. All she saw was oblivion and the next great adventure.

"You'll watch over them too, but you just won't know it," Harry said as the rose petal expanded in his hand and took on a new form.

A little red cloak that was just the right size to fit Summer's daughter.
