The media went crazy when they found out Tony Stark was alive and back home. Everyone had many questions to ask Iron Man, but no one got an exclusive interview. He had isolated himself in a lake house recently bought with Pepper, so he could recover

Tony may have told the avengers to accept the defeat, but he himself didn't. And he spent each day since his return, alternating the time between recovering physically and psychologically and researching ways to reverse Thanos' snap. And so months went by.

- Toc toc. - Pepper said, getting into the garage. Tony took his eyes off the screens around him to give his full attention to her. - Time for your morning walk, grandpa. - she smiled.

- Pep, I'm fine! You don't need to carry that thing around anymore. - He complained about the wheelchair that the woman pushed in the garden.

- I'll stop when you're 100% fine.

- I'm 200% fine. In fact, I'm doing so well I think we can already take a walk on the beach. Tony stopped walking and took the woman's hand. - On our honeymoon.

- Honeymoon?

- Yes.

- We're not even married yet.

- So let's get married! - he opened his arms.

- Tony, I don't know... everything is so recent and...

- Yeah, but if there's one thing we've learned from that, it's that life is short. The man interrupted. - We got another chance, we can't waste it... - he said; and did a briefly pause, before continuing. - So, what do you think?

- I think... You're right... - the woman admitted.

- I know. - Tony smiled. - So, August 27?

- That's the decoy date. - Pepper said, for the thousandth time.

- Okay, so… August 28? - He suggested, and the woman laughed. - August 29? Or before the decoy date? - He continued to suggest, as they started walking again.

On August 27, everyone had their eyes on the place where Tony and Pepper were supposed to get married; but by that time they would be home already, after returning from their honeymoon. Because, at home, a month earlier, the real ceremony was happening.

It would be simple, after all, no one was in the mood for big parties after the recent events. Only relatives and close friends were invited.

A large tent was set up in the garden, where the reception would be, after the ceremony. In front of the lake, lots of chairs were positioned, and the pier served as an altar. Flowers adorned the whole place.

Tony was anxiously waiting on the pier, next to Rhodes and Happy, who would be the best men. When the small orchestra started to play the wedding march, his heart sped up and an even bigger smile appeared on his face. The time had come.

He saw his bride leave the house and walk to the altar charmingly, following the rhythm of the music.

Pepper was in a long white dress with lace flowers. The sleeves were short and the back and the neck were transparent. Her beautiful red hair was down, with a veil that trailed behind her. It was reasonably long and with almost transparent lace, except for the flowery part at the end.

Tony was fascinated by the woman's immeasurable beauty. And he made a point of saying when it finally reached the altar:

- You look stunning, Miss Potts. - he said, before kissing her hand.

- You too, Mr. Stark. - she replied smiling. And then the two looked in the direction of the peace judge, who started the ceremony.

A speech was made about love, and how important it is in difficult times, like what they were experiencing. The couple exchanged rings, citing their vows. Saying how much they loved and were important to each other. How lucky they were. And after the expected "I do", the ceremony ended with a long and passionate kiss.

- Congratulations, Tony... - Romanoff smiled and hugged his friend.

- Thanks. Are you okay? He asked, concerned.

- I'm fine thanks. - the agent lied with a smile. - The others sent their best wishes. They couldn't come, because they're providing help in space. Earth wasn't the only planet to suffer from Thanos' snap.

- Please don't say that name on my wedding day. - for a moment, Tony's eyes lost their shine.

- Sorry.

- Well... And Thor couldn't come, because he's looking for a new home for his people. Here on Earth! - Banner completed, trying to break the ice.

- What the fuck happened to your face? - That was all Tony managed to say, looking at his friend.

- Long story. - he replied, putting his hand on his face, which every day was looking less like his and more like Hulk's.

- Hi guys!

- My wife, ladies and gentlemen... - Tony gestured towards Pepper, who hugged the two Avengers.

- Thanks for coming! Oh my God, Bruce! You're so…

- Weird? - Tony completed.

- Handsome. - Pepper corrected her husband, before hugging Banner. - How are you? I haven't seen you in months!

- You know, I've spent some time alone with the Hulk, so we could talk. And... we decided we can get together! Literally. - the scientist forced a sick smile. - So I believe it will be a matter of time before I turn green and huge... But it will still be me.

- Weird. - Tony said again, and Pepper scolded him.

- So... I'm sorry, but I'm gonna steal my husband for a second... - she smiled and looked at Tony. - It's time to cut the cake.

The couple then followed the tradition of cutting the cake hand in hand and giving a piece in the mouth of the other (with Tony making funny, making his wife and guests laugh).

- YEAH! - He shouted as he popped a bottle of champagne, serving Pepper and himself next. - I would like to make a toast... To my lovely wife. - the man said the word with a full chest, looking at her in the eyes. - To our friends and family. I know, we're all going through a fucked-up time. Thank you for coming and celebrating this moment of happiness in the middle of darkness with us. Rhodey, Happy, thank you for being with us since the beginning. - he looked right into his ex security. - Thank you for holding that ring for 10 years. - then he looked back at the most beautiful woman in that place. - And to us.

- To us. - Pepper lifted her glass. Then everyone toasted and drank, and the couple exchanged a passionate kiss.

- I love you ... - Tony whispered close to his wife's ear.

- I love you ... - she said smiling and pulled him into a delicate kiss. So the party went on.
