Riven laughed. "I think you broke them." He gestured towards the rest of the specialists and fairies who were all frozen to the spot and staring at her.
Bloom just snorted again.
After they had finished eating their food, the girls stood up and dragged their respective partners in the direction they needed to go. Bloom just calmly stood up and gestured for Riven to follow her.
As they walked along the sidewalk to the shop, Riven turned to Bloom curiously. "Ey Sparky."
Bloom made a humming sound, turning her head to talk to him. "Yea Grape?"
Riven frowned. "You seem so familiar… have I met you before? I feel like I've known you all my life. Where are you from anyway? Maybe that'll ring a bell."
"So you've figured it out somewhat, have you." Bloom sighed. She stopped walking and pulled Riven off to the side to talk.
Riven looked at her questioningly. "What do you mean?"
Bloom sighed again. "Well… I'm the youngest princess of Queen Marion and King Oritel, the rulers of Domino. I had a sister, Daphne. She was a nymph. During the attack on Domino… she got hit with a spell… I- I don't know where she is now. I also had a twin brother. His name was Brandon. He's the one you know as Prince Sky. He was hit with something that caused him to lose memory of Domino. He was adopted by King Erendor's squire. He and the real Sky are currently switched for protection. And… you were our, as in my and Brandon's, childhood playmate. We used to be three peas in a pod. I remember, during the battle… you got hit with some sort of memory spell. The last thing you said to me was, 'I'll find you someday Blossom. I promise.' I- I don't know if my parents are dead or alive, or where they are. I don't know anything about Daphne either, except that she's alive. Brandon… is the only one who I know is completely safe."
Riven stared at the ground for a moment, processing the information. "So…" He started, once he had enough of the silence. "Is there a way to break the memory charm on me?"
Bloom sighed for what seemed like the hundredth time this morning. "I… don't know Riven. I don't know. I- I can try telling you some of our childhood moments… see if that triggers anything? Maybe after we can go through the old pictures and videos I have, and my memory, see if that changes anything."
Riven nodded. "Alright. Hit me."
Bloom punched him in the arm as hard as she could. Riven jumped and grasped his shoulder. "Ow! Sparky, what the fuck?!"
Bloom snickered. "You said 'hit me'. I was simply doing what you asked."
Riven mock-glared at her. "Fine. Please tell me some of our old moments please."
"Sure," Bloom sighed, getting ready to tell him everything. "Okay… so one time, me, Brandon, and you were playing kings and queens. I was the queen, and you were the king. Brandon was the 'evil dragon' who was trying to kidnap me." she smiled fondly at the memory.
Riven snickered. "Sounds fun."
Bloom laughed. "Oh, it was. I remember Brandon came up to me and whacked me with his 'sword', which was really just a cardboard cutout. It still hurt like a bitch though. I remember I fell and skinned my knee, and then you ran over to me and asked if I was okay. I said I was and I asked why you were so worried. And you said, and I quote, 'I'm gonna marry you one day! I need to make sure my future wife is okay!' It was absolutely adorable."
Riven blushed a bit. "I think… I'm starting to remember some things… keep going."
Bloom snickered. "Oh, did I tell you about the time that you decided you didn't want to wear pants and ran around the castle completely naked except for a pair of underwear?"
Riven looked at her, horrified. "I did what?!"
"Oh yeah," Bloom laughed. "Brandon decided to join you after a while. He stripped down to his underwear and ran around the castle with you. I remember laughing my ass off."
Riven laughed. "Hey, after we get those weapons of yours, and after that dumb ball of course, can you ask Faragona for permission to bring me and Sky- I mean, Brandon, to the dorms or some private space so we can see your memories and try to remember everything?"
Bloom nodded. "I'd like that. I don't think I've smiled like this since I was like 8 or something."
Riven suddenly looked flustered. "W-well, I might be able to smile some more?"
Bloom giggled. "Sure, give it your best shot grape boy."
Riven smiled at her nervously. "W-well, I was wondering if you would consider going to the ball with me…?"
Riven looked down, expecting a rejection, when Bloom lifted his chin up and said the thing he least expected. "I'd love to Riven. After all, I am your future wife." She teasingly said.
Riven visibly perked up, smiling at Bloom. He seemed a bit more confident now. "Hey Sparky?"
Bloom hummed at him, leaning slightly more against him. "Yea Riven?"
"C-can I kiss you?"
Bloom let out a small squeak of surprise, but nodded, smiling softly.
Riven brought his hands up to her face, cupping it and feeling the warm skin there. Bloom followed suit, wrapping both of her hands around the taller boy's neck. He slowly brought his lips to hers, closing his eyes in pure bliss. Bloom's eyes fluttered close, kissing back slowly, softly. She felt Riven smile into the kiss. Reluctantly, they pulled apart, smiling softly and resting their foreheads together.
Bloom smiled at him. "River…"
Riven kissed her softly again. "River huh? Well then I guess you need a new nickname too… Blossom."
Bloom laughed, leaning into his warmth. "We gotta go River, we have to get to the weapons shop."
Riven chuckled. "You're probably the only student at Alfea who can fight without magic. And that's why you're amazing." He stood up, dusting off his pants and offering his hand to pull her up.
Bloom smiled at him and grabbed his hand, pulling herself off. "Thank you… River. I- I haven't been that open or smiled at someone in almost 10 years now. I think… one day… soon… I'll tell you more about my past after Domino."
Riven smiled. "Glad I could help, Blossom. Can… can I ask something?"
Bloom nodded, still tightly grasping his hand as they walked to their destination.
Riven smiled again. "Will you be mine?"
Bloom laughed a bit. "River… I was always yours."
