Chapter 2: Diagon Alley
The next morning I woke up and ran into Draco's room. He was still asleep which wasn't a surprise to me at all. Draco get up, we have to get an early start today. He woke up and rubbed his eyes, what time is it Christina. 8:30 Draco now get up I said pulling the covers off of him. He said ok I'm up Christina go get dressed and meet me for breakfast in 15 minutes. I ran to my room and got dressed, Dobby had left me a note with my robes saying, Thank you for being so kind last night Christina, have a good day in Diagon Alley. Don't get hurt I will be keeping a watch out for you. I smiled at his note and ran out the door down to breakfast. Good morning Mrs. Malfoy. Good morning Christina but I told you countless time call me Narcissa I've been taking care of you since you were two you don't need to call me Mrs. Malfoy anymore. Sorry I said, I keep forgetting. Thank you for breakfast Narcissa I said smiling. She smiled back then yelled Draco lets get a move on. A few moments later Draco came running down the hall, panting he said Good Morning mom. She walked over, gave him a kiss on the forehead and said sit and eat your father will be down to take you shortly. In the other room we heard Dobby being yelled at for shining Mr. Malfoys shoes too slow. Dobby kept saying Dobby is sorry master and Dobby will have to punish himself for this one. Mr Malfoy came in with Dobby still shining his shoes and gave Narcissa a kiss. He looked over to me and said good morning sweetie sleep well even with all the excitement. Yes, Mr. Malfoy I slept excellently, I said smiling. Son, did you sleep well too? Yes father, why is Dobby shining your shoes though. Mr. Malfoy looked at us both and said while you too are shopping for supplies I have a business errand I have to run. You two must stay together at all times, he handed us our lists and said you may get everything you need and you may get an owl, a cat, or a toad. He gave us each a bag full of gold galleons and silver sickles. After we finished breakfast we headed to the living room. Narcissa got out the floo powder and I stepped in the chimney. I grabbed a handful of floo powder, threw it down and said loud and clear Diagon Alley. Then I was in the center of Diagon Alley, a few moments later Draco was beside me and Mr. Malfoy followed soon after. He said Now remember to stay together. Where to first said Draco. I say we go get our wands first so Olivanders. We walked down the street to Olivanders store. We walked in and Mr. Olivander was getting a red head boy about my age fixed with his wand. After he was gone Draco went up to Mr. Olivander asking for his wand. I waited and talked to the boy who was with his mother and sister at the time. Are you a first year as well I asked. He said yes and smiled at me. I'm Christina Laurens by the way I said with a smile. He smiled back I'm Ron Weasley. It's very nice to meet you. His mother looked at me with a smile and said dear we would love to talk but we have lots of things to get for him and his siblings. Ron said I hope to see you on the train, we can sit together if you'd like. I smiled and said I would love to. See you then. He walked out the door and I heard Mr. Olivander say 10 inches, hawthorn wood, reasonably pliable, Unicorn hair core. Nice wand my boy that'll be 7 Galleons. Draco payed and I went up to Mr. Olivander, before I even said my name he said Christina Laurens very bright one I'd say you look just like your father did at your age but you've got your mothers blonde hair. I was a bit freaked out at him knowing my name but didn't say anything. I was also concerned because no-one other than the Malfoys knew who my father was. He looked at me a moment longer then spoke only three words. He disappeared behind a wall and came back with a box. He handed the wand to me and the end started glowing. He said perfect 7 inches, Cherry Wood, Phoenix Feather core, Fairly pliable. You have a very rare and powerful wand use it well. Your father was a lot like you. I still remember his wand 13 12 inches, Yew wood, Phoenix Feather Core. Very Powerful wand just about as Powerful as yours. You will do great things dear. I gave him my 7 galleons and was out of the store where to next I asked. Lets go get our robes and pick an animal to bring with us the shops are right next to each other. We
arrived at Madame Malkins just as Ron was leaving. He had two older boys with him this time instead of his mother I said hi to him but before I walked away one of the boys said hold on who is this Ronald. Ron looked a bit confused but said this is Christina. I met her at Olivanders. She is a first year this year as well. Well Ron you could've told us you met a girl. I chuckled and at the same time the boys said were Fred and George. They were identical so I knew they were twins. I said hi to them but was interrupted by Draco. Christina what are you doing talking to the weasleys? Well Draco if you must know I met Ron at Olivanders and I'm hoping he will be my friend since we are going into first year soon. Draco looked at me frowning but Ron laughed a little. He said is Draco your brother? Not exactly but he is the closest thing I have to a brother. Draco was trying to hide a smile at that comment but I know him too well and saw it. Ron said oh well you look a lot alike. We both laughed and said well see you on the train. We went up to Madame Malkin and were taken back for measurements. A little while later a boy with brown hair raggedy clothes and glasses walked in. He looked so familiar but I couldn't pinpoint where I had seen him before. Draco was looking out the window and saw a very tall man with a bushy beard and big black eyes. He looked at the boy and said imagine looking like him and laughed. He looked at the boy who didn't seem amused by his comment and said are your parents our kind? The boy looked at draco as though he was speaking parseltongue. The boy then said if you're asking if my parents are magical folk then yes they are. Draco then began to talk about how the other kind of wizarding families should never have been allowed into Hogwarts and how shameful it must be to be them. Draco was sounding a lot like his father and I didn't like to see that part of him. Madame Malkin finished Draco and my robes we paid and Draco ran out of the store. Before running out of the store after him I said I'm so sorry about my god brother I'm Christina by the way, Christina laurens. I'm Harry, Harry Potter. Not waiting to make a scene and knowing if I didn't go out there soon Draco would come back in. I said it was nice meeting you Harry. Hopefully I'll see you on the train. He responded nice to meet you too see you then. I chased Draco down and he was standing outside The Magical Menagerie. We walked in to see so many different kinds of animals. Draco wanted an owl and I wanted a cat so we went over to the owl section and saw a beautiful white eagle owl. Draco told the worker he wanted that one and they got him a cage, a food they held the owl at the desk while we went to pick out my cat. There were many kittens and cats but the one that stood out to me the most was this beautiful white persian kitten with blue eyes. I told the man I wanted her and he got me the food and other supplies I needed for my kitten. I named her angel because she was white just like an angel. Draco named his owl Rodor. After we got all of our supplies we waited for Mr. Malfoy in the leaky cauldron. He arrived and we got food and then went back to the manor. Draco and I played with my kitten until supper time and then we played with her some more until time for bed. Dobby came into my room before bed to meet the kitten and tell me good night. That night, Angel slept curled up in my collarbone. Draco came into my room in the middle of the night and woke me up saying do you really feel like I'm your brother. I was still half asleep and confused so I said huh? He said do you really feel like I'm the closest thing you have to a brother. I giggled yes Draco we have literally lived together and done everything together since we were two. He said ok good because I thought you were just saying that because of them. Not at all he gave me a hug which woke up Angel. Who got off the bed and went to the litter box. Draco went back to his room and Angel came back to lay in my collarbone. Then I remembered I met Harry Potter today and will be sitting with Ron on the train in a few days! I was now even more excited to go to Hogwarts. Not only did I have my brother and Angel to come with me but I now had two friends, Ron Weasley and Harry Potter. I also knew two older boys who I thought were really cute, Fred and George. What could possibly go wrong this year?
