The next chapter is posted! Enjoy :)
'Well good news is Frieza's healed and doing much better...Bad news is, after he was fully healed. The little reptilian bastard had me pinned to a tree with his hand around my throat.' Lily can't say she was all too surprised at this. Though it didn't make her any less scared. Right now, her mask of indifference is wavering to downright fear.
"What in the hell are you doing?" She gritted out.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm showing you my gratitude for all you done." He said.
"You sure as hell have a funny way of showing it. Now let me go." She grits out.
He leans in close. "I don't think your in any position to negotiate, Little One. You see, that smart mouth of yours has gotten you into quite a bit of trouble. I'm not one to trifle with nor am I one to take such scathing insults. I have killed men for less than what I've endured from your incessant chatter. As I said before, I may not be able to kill you now for your insolence. Still, it doesn't mean I won't make this little journey as unpleasant as possible for you."
It's either he hasn't applied much pressure. Or he has lost more of his inhuman strength then she originally thought. Of course, it doesn't make it any less scary. He may have lost his powers. But he can still seriously hurt her if he wanted.
"Thanks for the lovely little speech. But I'd like to add, we have bigger problems right now. I don't know about you, but I'd like to get the fuck out of here before those problems find us." Lily informed the tyrant.
Frieza chuckled. "Still worried about these fabled boogeymen that come out at night to rip unsuspecting fools to pieces?"
No sooner then he finished that remark. An unearthly bloodcurdling screech rippled through the forest. This caused them both to look around for the source of the eerie sound.
She gave him a look. "I think the question is. Do you want to wait around to see for yourself?"
In what seemed like ages, he finally let go of her neck and backed up. "Alright so perhaps there are some deadly predators out here. All we can really do right now, is continue on towards that town."
He looked up at the sky and noticed it's much later in the day then they thought. "Though I doubt we will make it there before dark. As I said, from the position I saw it. Where we landed, it's quite a good few miles away. Seeing as neither of us can fly, it will take us quite a deal longer to arrive there."
"But we at least need to try to cover as much distance as we can now. Though I still don't understand, why we don't just contact Carter or anyone else from town to give us a lift. We would probably make it back in no time if we did." Lily said.
"I told you, we don't need any outside help. If we happen to run into any of these so called creatures, I'll take care of them." He bit back.
She raises an eyebrow. "And how do you plan on doing that? Bore them to death with one of your lovely little lectures?"
Frieza flexed his hand into a fist a couple times then went to a large tree with a rather thick stump. Faster than she could blink he punched the tree in what looked to be full force. Upon impact from his fist, the tree uprooted and fell over.
This did not reassure Lily for a couple reasons. One, if she thought he couldn't do serious damage to her before. He sure as hell can now. Two, even if he's still incredibly strong, Carter still said these things cannot be killed by mortals. Though in Frieza's case, he could maybe knock them unconscious or stun them enough to get away. To where can the get to safety is the biggest concern. She swallowed and steadied her breathing.
"Okay, if your quite finished showing off. Can we please go now?" She asked.
"Fine by me, Little One." He then stepped aside and gestured with his arm while snidely replying. "Ladies First."
This caused Lily to snort and roll her eyes. "By all means then, go right ahead." She shot back.
He swung his tail back and forth in agitation. "Have it your way then."
He turned and started walking ahead and she reluctantly began to follow. They continued on their walk in silence after that. Thankfully, they haven't heard anymore of that god awful screeching. A couple hours went by, and by now it was dusk. Sadly, within that time. They didn't feel all that much closer to town then they hoped.
"Try to keep up. Your starting to get behind." He told her.
She huffed and sped up. After another half hour the sun was completely down. Replaced by the largest Blood Moon Lily has ever seen. This moon cast an eerie and somewhat unsettling reddish light. So unnatural, compared to the pale yet bright moonlight you would see at home.
It was at that time. They thought they heard a rustling sound coming from some bushed a few meters to their right. Now Lily was becoming alarmed. "Frieza what..."
"Shhh!" He held up his hand. He started speaking lower. "Just keep moving. Don't make too much noise."
Just like any bad sci-fi horror movie what does she do? Steps on a stick that made the loudest crunching sound ever.
"You imbecile." He hissed at her.
Just then they heard a loud grunt. Something came charging at an unusually fast pace out of the bushes. She felt rooted to the spot. While Frieza crouched down into his fighting stance, awaiting his foe's arrival. It jumped into the small clearing they occupied. Then came to a dead stop to eye it's prey. This 'thing' looked like a living nightmare! It must've been eight feet long, minus the tail.
It's body was grotesque, and instantly reminded her of the alien from Ridley Scott's Alien movie with Sigourney Weaver. It even had a similar long skeletal tail with what looked like one long wicked barb at the end. As for it's head; it had small pointed ears like a Doberman, with an equally doglike looking head and muzzle. Only the teeth were longer than any dog's. They also protruded on either sides of it's mouth. The eyes were a different story completely. They were red, but not solid red. They swirled about like flames. In a way this creature reminded her of the fabled; 'Hell Hounds'.
It started to circle them. Frieza didn't let it out of his sight. While all Lily could do at the moment is stand there and shake. The beast let out what sounded like a combination of a bark and a screech, then charged at them. Frieza used his tail to shove her out of the way. Then jumped up and sent a roundhouse kick to it's face. It let out a high pitch whine, like a kicked dog.
The kick was strong enough to send it tumbling over. Before it could fully recuperate, Frieza went in for the attack again. He executed a barrage of punches to the creature's side. As he pulled back to land another hit, it shot out it's tail and swatted Frieza away. The force of it's hit, sent Frieza flying into the brush. It then set it's sights on Lily, and started stalking towards her. What will she do now?
She had some training both on Lord Beerus's world and prior to that on her world. But none of it prepared her to fight deadly devil dogs. Before it could get close enough, Frieza leaped back in with a kick to it's side. "Why are you still standing there?! If your not going to fight, then at least put some distance between yourself and this creature!" He shouted.
She didn't want to go to far from him. So she found a tree and began climbing. She went up far enough to where she felt safer, never taking her eyes of the fight happening below.
Frieza was fast, but then so was the creature and very agile. Frieza's been lucky so far, as to not take any serious hits. But it also looks like he wasn't really winning this fight either. Although the hits hurt the creature to a degree. It didn't show many signs of slowing down it's assault. It rammed it's head right into Frieza's gut, knocking the wind out of him. He countered by putting his fists together and slamming them down on the beast's head. It became quite enraged by the hit. Plus, the fact it's prey is not going down as easy as it should.
It wrapped it's tail around Frieza's fist then got up onto it's hind legs. Using one of it's front paws. It brought it up and swung it down and slammed into Frieza with such force he went into the side of a large boulder. This caused it to crack from the impact. The move did it's trick, and Frieza was starting to struggle to get up. His head was pounding and blood was pulsing from a gash to the head. Blood was also coming out of his nose, along with a cut to the side of his mouth. His vision blurred.
The creature was about to make it's final move to end the fight. Frieza braced for impact. But the attack never came. Someone slammed a large heavy rock to it's head, causing it to go down. Frieza looked over to see Lily, standing there holding the rock up. She slammed the rock down several more times on the creatures head and neck. Until the weight of the large rock started causing a strain on her arms and shoulders.
She dropped the rock to the side exhausted. To her surprise the creature got up with a stagger. It was then another even bigger rock, no a boulder was slammed down onto the creature. The boulder was so big and heavy. It had the creature's lower half pinned under it. By now, the animal was too stunned to move. It was struggling to get out from underneath the boulder.
He grabbed Lily's arm and they made a hasty retreat. Trying to put as much distance between themselves and this monster as possible. As they ran through the woods, they could here more screeches coming from various locations. They tried moving faster. Eventually, coming to another clearing. In this clearing, sat what only could be described as a silo. Like the kind you may see on a military base. They made there way to it and found a ladder, that led up to a steel door. It took a bit of heft, but they finally got the thick door open. Then slammed it shut behind them, locking it. Then both of them collapsed in a sigh of relief.
Well that was quite the action packed chapter! At least they made it out of there and found safe lodgings...for now. Until next time ;)
