Spectre: This is the last COD chapter for now, since I thought maybe a break would to but I promise to continue this. Also, I have ideas for the next chapter. Unless of course, if you want me to continue.

Chapter 20: Safehouse

The satellite tracking Sgt. Russel Thrush labels him as K.I.A. as a result of the nuclear detonation in Menagerie. As Raven contacts Captain Branwen from Vital, a safehouse in Kuroyuri is analyzed as the SAS team prepares to move in and capture Arthur Watts.

Some of the people in the audience that knew what K.I.A meant let out a sigh, still pretty shaken because of what happened to the Atlesian Marines who tried to capture Watts.

But there were some people that didn't knew what it meant, Ruby was one of them, "What does that mean?"

Qrow sighed at his niece's question and answered, knowing that she was not going to like it, "Killed in action.", to which Ruby sunk on her seat.

Then, the camera started moving across the map before the Special Air Service of Beacon logo popped onto the screen.

"It's back to you." Raven stated, looking over at her two teammates.

"They picked the best people to go after Watts" Ozpin said, with Ironwood and Glynda nodding their heads in agreement, both of them wanting justice for the Marines that Watts had just murdered.

"I've been looking forward to this", Ironwood eagerly said, surprising the others as they never heard him in a vengeful tone.

It was when a square with Raven's photo appeared on the screen, with the Vitalian on it speaking up, "The man is a coward, Captain Branwen. Arthur Watts would never sacrifice himself. There is a safehouse in Kuroyuri that Watts has used in the past. I am sending you the coordinates..."

"I'm sorry?" Watts said, clearly offended by how he was just called.

"It's not that far from the truth." Qrow stated to the rogue scientist.

"What does that supposed to mean?" the scientist asked him, crossing his arms, glaring at him.

"You know that he's is not wrong, right? You pulled off a barbaric, if not cowardly tactic, and then ran off to hide in Kuroyuri without any consideration to those who died under you." Raven agreed with Ironwood, which was a rather rare thing to happen.

Ren and Nora on the other hand, winced at the location of Kuroyuri, their very hometown until it was destroyed by numerous circumstances and it was since a terrible memory for the duo.

The camera finally stopped on what seemed to be edge of Kuroyuri on the map, as Qrow spoke up, "Understood, Raven. Winter, assemble the team. We're going to Kuroyuri ."

The camera lowered itself into the place which the audience assumed to be the place where Watts went into hiding. A few buildings were visible in the area of Watts' possible location. Some strange black and yellow stripes appeared on each one of the building, singalling that Watts could have been hiding in one of them, until the square pointed at one location where Qrow, Winter, Summer and the rest of their squad were placed.

Winter's answer was, "Yes captain. I hear it's lovely this time of the year..."

"You still dislike calling him that, Winter?", Weiss asked her sister at seeing her rather annoyed expression.

"You bet, I do.", was Winter's stern reply as she glanced at Qrow, who smirked.

"Get used to it, Ice Queen", Qrow sassed to her as she scoffed at him.

["Safehouse"]

[Day 4 - 02:00:34]

[Northern Kuroyuri]

[Sgt. Summer "Soap" Rose]

[22nd SAS Regiment]

The camera completely zoomed itself down on the location of the squad where Summer was checking her M4A1 as she was crounching down in the bushes in front of an old gas station along with Qrow, Winter, Vernal and two other SAS operatives.

When Summer looked forward herself she spotted someone flashing a signal to the team with his flashlight.

"Who's that?" Vernal asked.

The answer quickly came when Qrow stated, "There's Torchwick's man. Let's go."

"So I'm still helping them?", Roman questioned, remembering when Winter tried to throw him off a cliff a couple screenings ago.

"Yep, but since your government is allied to Vale, you practically have no choice but to work together", Aeralyn explained to him.

One of Roman's men and Qrow stepped out from their hiding places and met each other in the halfway of the distance between them. The Loyalist quickly began his explanation, "Arthur Watts in the village. The Ultranationalists are protecting him."

"Perfect." Qrow nodded and looked back at his squad and gestured for them to follow his lead, "Move out."

Summer, Winter, Vernal, and the other operatives rose from the bushes and followed Qrow and the Loyalist. The entire squad walked up the hill which was leading straight to the village, screams and gunshots could be heard from a village.

"What the bloody hell's going on up there?" Vernal inquired.

"It's the Ultranationalists. They're killing the villagers." The Loyalist answered.

Weiss shook her head after hearing this answer, "Monsters."

"Don't worry, Princess. They'll get what's coming to them.", Yang assured her.

"Yeah well, not for long they're not." Winter declared. The squad made their way up the hill, spotting the buildings. One of them was a church on their left, and other was a house which was apparently stationed by Ultranationalists when they opened fired at the squad the moment this building came into their view. Summer aimed her weapon at the window of the house and quickly cleared it out with any hostiles.

The squad moved further towards the building as they reached the entrance to this house, but didn't had a chance to enter it as there were at least five hostiles inside and rushing straight through the entrance would most likely end with death. Summer threw a grenade right into the house by unpinning it and holding it for a few seconds, the explosion taking them out when they do not have the time to react, allowing her and the rest to rush in.

Qrow and Winter took care of the other Ultranationalist soldiers as Vernal and the Loyalist went to check the other floor to see if there was anyone hiding in there.

When she didn't heard a single shot for either of them, Winter declared, "Building clear. No sign of Arthur Watts. Moving on."

"So, they're going to be searching every house that they showed us on the map at the start?" Jaune asked.

"It seems like it." Ren answered.

The squad was about to move out of this building to check the other ones but at first they had to take care of the Ultranationalists that stood on a small house in a burning wooden building in the background, using a white fence as the cover. Summer knelt down in front of the window, while the other members of her squad took their own covers from them as well, and cleared them out just a second later, allowing them to move towards another building.

The other building they were going to check was a building on the edge of the town. The upper part of the wall of the roof was gone and it gave one of the Ultranationalists a good position to provide supporting fire but was quickly gunned down by Sunmer's rifle.

The squad made their way over to the building. It was that actually that big so clearing it out of hostiles didn't took them that long.

Just like in the previous one, there was no sight of Arthur Watts anywhere near that building. "Building is clear. Move on to the next one.", Winter called out.

"Do they have to say that every after building was checked?", Weiss questioned, confused.

"For military operations like this, then yes", Winter answered.

The team moved further into the building, walking up the hill towards another building, which this time would surely take more time to clear it. Fortunately there was other way of walking into it than the main entrance. There was an entrance to the basement which was giving them a chance clear it without having to risk by coming inside of it through the main entrance.

But there was one complication which wasn't allowing them to get closer to the building. A BMP that was moving along the road, clearly heading towards their way, open firing at them every moment as it did so.

"Soap! Call in air support!" Qrow ordered her as they managed to get into cover.

"What?", Jaune questioned.

"Roger!", Summer pulled out a radio and told the operator from the other line. "Mosin 2-5, we have enemy armor at our flanks, requesting air support on my mark!"

"2-5 here. We're on the way. Standby for air support.", the gunship operator replied. After that, minute or two had to pass unil the air support in a form of a Havoc gunship arrived, and got rid of the obstacle that was the BMP, but the BMP wasn't the only victim of the helicopter's sudden arrival but also Ultranationalists soldiers that weren't hiding inside of the building were taken out as well.

The support lasted for a moment, before the pilot of the gunship called out to Summer, "This is 2-5. We have to refuel and rearm. We will not be available for some time."

"Do you think they will use it again?" Sun whispered to his teammates.

"Considering that they have two more buildings to check, then, yes, it is possible." Neptune said to him.

After the Havoc left, Summer finally had a chance go into the basement just as she originally tasked to do so. She made her over to the basement and from there went over to the stairs which led her straight to where enemies were waiting for her and the rest. She threw a flash-bang grenade, blinding the Ultranationalist soldiers which were then taken out by her without any problem.

But there weren't the only ones. Most of them were hiding on the next floor. She carefully made her way up the stairs, and saw one soldiers that was taking cover from one of the doors, leaning out for a moment to fire some bullets in random direction. She waited for him to run out and once it happened, fired half of her magazine straight at the door, killing him and making his lifeless body fall through the door.

She then went to check on the room just in case if there was anything there while the rest of her squad took care of the rest of the Ultranationalists present.

"This building's clear! Let's check the other buildings!", Winter confirmed.

Quickly, the Squad moved in where they met Ultranationalists open firing at them where they quickly took cover. Summer and Qrow took point where the she was attacked by an Ultranationalist who attempted to strike her with the butt of his rifle but she quickly pulled out a knife and slashed his throat while Qrow performed a takedown against a hostile trooper and shot him execution style with a pistol.

Usinng a flashbang, Qrow and Summer took cover until the grenade blinded nearby hostiles, and with that they quickly shot down the enemy hostiles and searched the building, and once more, Arthur Watts wasn't inside.

Which Winter of course confirmed, "No sign of Arthur Watts. Move on."

And with that, there was only one building left. It was just across the street. Summer switched her shotgun back to her assault rifle as the squad moved along the street to the last house.

"Watts is at the barn", Ironwood said with confidence.

"How so, general?", Winter asked him.

"He is too far away from the rest of those who were trying to protect him, so it wouldn't be that hard to say", he stated.

The squad made their way up the street, passing by one of the building they previousl cleared and started making their way through the fields towards the barn, but of course things couldn't be that easy and they were the Ultranationalist soldiers protecting their last position to defend themselves from them.

Summer's reaction to it was quick. She pulled out her radio and marked the gunship where is its next target. The Havoc came a moment later and the Ultranationalists didn't stand a chance against the gunship. It was just a matter of time before all of them were laying on the ground, dead.

After the gunship gave informaton that he had to refuel again, the entire squad made their way over to the barn, and started preparing themselves for breach and clear.

"Remember, we want Arthur Watts alive. He's no good to us dead. Let's go." Qrow reminded as he slighty opened the doors and threw a flash-bang grenade inside, blinding everyone inside of it. He pulled out his M1911 pistol and shot down two Ultranationalist soldiers and then headed straight for Arthur Watts, knocking him on the ground and punching him right in the face.

"Beat his ass, Uncle Qrow!", Yang cheered from the side as the rest of Beacon's students were doing the same for her uncle.

"Give him a slow, but painful death rather", Raven suggested, after seeing how weak this man truly is after all.

Ironwood didn't say anything but internally, he was smirking at what was happening to Watts at this universe, though he wished he was the one to deliver the beating instead, and he now know that justice for the Atlesian Marines was at hand. Said scientist on the other hand, frowned at seeing himself get beaten.

The view of Qrow punching Watts in the face was cut off by the screen going to black.

"It's over?" Jaune asked, thinking that the mission was over.

"The next mission is going to show them interrogating him perhaps?" Winter suggested..

That is when Qrow's voice was once again heard on the screen that was still black, "Why'd you do it?! Where did you get the bomb?"

"I can't tell you." Watts replied as he was being beaten by an angry captain.

"You're lying now, Watts?' Ironwood asked the rogue Atlesian scientist. The people that called Watts a coward at the start of the mission was right and what they're seeing proves them rigjt.

"He knows they can end his pathetic life at any moment so he is most likely trying to save himself." Raven stated.

"Who then?" Qrow demanded to know as he continued to assault him.

Watts' answer was, "I cannot tell you..."

"Who?! Give me a name! A name! I want his name!" Qrow was getting impatient and continued to beat him.

The screen slowly turns back to see what's happening in the barn. Summer, Winter and the rest of the squad watched how Qrow delivered three punches at Watts, two of them directed right at his face while the last was directed at his stomach. Then, he grabbed the back of the chair Watts was sitting on and dragged him around the barn for a bit. He stopped and picked up a belt and wrapped it around Watts' neck, choking him.

"He really is going all the way on him." Jaune stated, saying what was on the minds of some people in the audience. This version of Qrow was really someone you didn't want to piss off.

Ironwood smiled at this, seeing that this is what Watts deserved for his cowardly, yet barbaric move against those Atlesian Marines.

Then, out of the sudden a phone started ringing. Winter was the one who found it and offered it to Qrow, "Captain, it's his cellphone."

Qrow let go off Watts' neck and dropped the belt on the ground. Winter threw the cellphone to him and Qrow answered the call. He pressed the phone to his ear and listened to the voice on the other side of the cellphone, until he realized who that was and turned back to Watts. Hhe dropped the phone, and pulled out his pistol. He executed Watts by a simple shot in the head, point-blank rage and the screen went to black.

Beacon's students winced at Qrow simply killing the man without any second thought, though many consider it justifiable on how many died because of Watts. Ironwood felt closure for the deaths of the Marines while JNPR and RWBY felt that CRDL had been avenged.

"Who was that, sir?", Winter asked him.

"Khan.", Qrow answered her "Sienna Khan."
