The next chapter is posted! So, we last left off with our two main characters finally making it to Elysium. Now we will see how their City Trip goes. Enjoy :)
The first shop they stumbled into was a clothing shop. Finding this place pointless, Frieza turned to leave. Until a hand on his shoulder stopped him.
"Where you going? We just got here." Lily said.
He shrugged off her hand. "You said you needed supplies. This place obviously doesn't sell food or water. Which is what we are looking for."
"It's true, those are the most important supplies we need. I get clothing means nothing to you. Since you prefer to walk around in nothing but your birthday suit. But unlike you, I need at least two or three pairs of clothes. Because for one, I'm not wearing this training outfit everyday. That's just nasty. The other reason being, I need something lighter to wear in this heat." She informed him.
"Really don't have time for this." He huffed in annoyance.
"Why? You have somewhere to be at this very moment?" She retorts.
He sighs. "Just. Hurry. Up."
With that she started looking through the racks. The clothes here seem very different than what she is use to seeing at home. The material looks and feels different as well. "Something I can help you with, Hun?"
Lily turns and see's a young women. She looked to be only a few years younger than herself. She was wearing a ton of makeup. Her blonde hair tipped in purple, was up in a messy bun of some sorts. Just when Lily thought she had some piercings, this woman had several decorating her ears and face. She also had on some odd purplish boob top and grey baggy shorts that went down to mid-thigh. Her shoes were most unusual, because just like the clothes. They were made out of some material she hasn't seen before.
Lily cleared her throat. "Yes, I'm looking for something lightweight, I can wear in this heat. But I'm not sure what would be a good fit. What's the best material for this weather?"
The woman gave her a friendly smile. "I think I know what will look good on you. Follow me this way."
On the way, the woman looked Lily up and down, giving her a quizzical look about her attire. "Sorry Hun, I don't mean to stare. But I'm not too familiar with that style of clothes your in. I can't even put my finger on what materials were used to manufacture them."
"Oh, a friend of mine made it for me. I like it all the same. But it's not light enough for this weather." Lily told the other woman.
Satisfied with Lily's answer, she just gave her a nod. Lily followed her a few rows down until they came to a stop. "Your better off with something like these. This material is one of the lightest, yet strongest ones made. It's called kellavan, it's very breathable and durable. One of the neatest things about it is, it looks like flimsy material. But in fact, it's very hard to rip. Look at me explaining away. When I know you already knew that."
'No, if anything Lily was glad for her explanation. Because something tells her, a lot of these materials can't be found on her home of earth.' Lily looked through the racks but was unsure of what to try. Even at home she wasn't a big shopper, always finding her clothes in the junior or petite department due to her small size.
"You have any ideas on what may look best? I'm having a hard time deciding on what would look good." Lily told her.
The woman's eyes lit up, like I just made her day. "Usually with me, I like to go based off of eye color and complexion. Though sometimes, I'll go off of people's favorite colors or styles too." She explains, while she rifles through the clothing racks. She looks back at Lily. "You have gorgeous blue eyes. So you mind if I start from there? Then if you like, we can go onto favorite colors."
Lily looked back finding Frieza sitting in a comfy chair at the front of the small shop. He had his leg crossed over the other while tapping a foot with his arms crossed. He didn't look to be in a good mood either. 'This must be how most men feel when they get dragged out unwillingly on shopping expeditions with their girlfriends and wives.' Lily let out a quiet laugh to herself on that thought. "Here you are, these are the ones I know will suit you best. Before I usher you off to the changing stalls, are there any colors I missed here that you prefer?"
Missed any colors? Is she kidding? It looked like a rainbow threw up in my arms. "No thank you, this is fine."
With that, the woman lead her to one of the stalls to try them all on. The styles turned out being more awesome than she thought. She just found it funny that they were all various combinations of form fitting belly shirts. Whereas the bottoms had a more variety of lengths. It was hard, but she was finally down to five choices. She knew she should have went with less outfits, but these few in particular she just couldn't pass up.
Happy with her decision, Lily left the stall. Only to run right into the woman. "Oh, Sorry Hun. I just found one more outfit. Honestly, I think this one will look the best on you out of all them."
What to do? She wanted to take her advice and try it on. But at the same time, Lily knew Frieza was most likely getting antsy and wanted to leave. 'Screw It', he can wait a little longer. So she took it from her and went back in the stall. 'Whoa' totally getting 'The Fifth Element' vibe from here. It looks a lot like what Mila Jovovich's character wore for her first outfit. During her opening scene in the lab. Thankfully, this covered more of the important areas.
The color of the outfit was an off grey/white color. Like the others, it was formfitting and the bottom of it came down only slightly lower than a sport's bra. In fact that's almost exactly what it looked like. The material covering most of her chest and upper back was just thick enough to not pass for see through. While the intertwining pieces that made up the shoulder and side straps, looked more see through. The bottoms which looked like mid-length shorts had a similar style to the top. Only they were slightly baggy in the front and back. With similar straps holding them together from the sides.
The woman even went ahead and found her matching shoes to complete her ensemble. The shoes kind of reminded her of 'Uggs.' They looked to be made out of the same material as the clothes she was handed. They had the wide rounded look of ugg boots but flared out and around in soft ripples that ended just above her ankles. Satisfied with the look she left the stall and finally went to pay for her purchase. At the checkout counter, the woman gave her a once over and smiled.
"Damn girl you looking good." Then she looked to Lily's left and her smile widened.
Lily turned to see what she was looking at. Only to fine Frieza still in the chair, quickly look away. As if uninterested on the whole exchange. For some reason, Lily blushed. Why? She wasn't quite sure herself. She handed the woman her newly acquired flash card to pay for her new clothes and shoes. "Thanks sweetie, and you have a very good day."
Not a minute after Frieza stood up and walked out of the shop. The woman started giggling. "That cute alien boyfriend of yours really has it bad for you. You should've seen the look of approval and satisfaction he was shooting you. Before he looked away and walked out."
Lily couldn't believe what she was hearing. "He's not my boyfriend." She squeaked out in a high pitched voice.
This made the woman laugh even harder. "Sweetie does he know that? Because I'm telling you, the way that boy was looking at you before ,says otherwise." She ended with a wink.
Lily just gave her a polite smile. "Thank you again for your help. These really do look and fit great."
The woman said, 'no problem.' Then Lily finally exited the shop.
Once out, she looked around and spotted Frieza to her left leaning against the shop's wall. He didn't say anything, just started walking further down the street. They made a couple more stops along the way. First she found a store that sold what looked to be all different types of packs and bags. The shopkeeper introduced her to what he called a maxi pack. She didn't understand at first why. It didn't look big at all, until he showed her how it works.
If the technology weren't so advanced. Lily would have passed it off as magic. The tiny bag expanded and opened up into numerous compartments, both big and small. Plenty of room to fit all the supplies she needed. He showed her how to work it. Before buying it and using it to store her new clothes. Surprisingly, it fits the first aid kit as well. He also said it can hold food in the separate compartments. Lily can easily store some groceries in there if she wanted to.
Then they finally made it down to the food supply shop. Lily bought as much food she believed her new bag could handle. Along with another small blanket and a few 'ahem' personal items for that special time of the month. She fit most of the purchases in the little 'maxi' bag alone. Though she still put a small handful of essentials in her own cinch sack for use too. She found the maxi bag shrunk small enough to fit in her sack. That way, she still only had to carry around the one sack.
"Are we quite finished yet? I'd like to find somewhere we can rest for the night." He said.
She looked at her new flat and rather flexible 'wrist watch'. "It's only quarter to six though. Don't you want to grab some dinner or look around town?"
He gave her an annoyed look. "I've looked around this town enough. Now I only wish to find a room and be alone. I don't like being around such large 'happy' crowds of people."
He finished with a cringe as they walked past a group of young people. Who were sitting at an outside dining table laughing quite loud and obnoxiously at something someone else said. Seeing this, Lily feels she put him through enough torture with her shopping endeavors for the day. So she agreed and they looked for the nearest motel or hotel they could find. Since men don't like to ask for directions, that including space men. Lily had to ask several people where the nearest one was. They were told there was one about eight blocks away. Then told them what it was called and which roads to take. Though when they got there, it was not exactly what they expected.
That's the end of this chapter and their...or should I say Lily's exciting shopping adventure. Until next time ;)
