We're back with a new chapter! So they are finally ready to leave Elysium and continue on to their next destination. Hopefully things will run a bit more smoothly now that they're better prepared...or are they? Enjoy :)
This time she wasn't awakened by hitting the floor or jabbed in the shoulder. Lily actually awoke to the morning sun peaking into the bay window. It was shining over the bed and illuminating the whole room. Where Frieza slept, was now empty. She looked around then caught some movement at the corner of her eye. She looked to the balcony and found him leaning on the railing. He was looking out on the town below. When she approached, he appeared deep in thought. She looked to the view in front of her. For what seemed like the longest minute ever. Until one of them broke the silence.
"Grab your things and let's go. We've already lost a couple hours because you overslept." He said.
With that, he walked past her and back into the room. 'So he's back to his old asshole self again. Great.' She went in and began packing her things and they left. Once they hit the lobby, she tried making a b-line to the dining hall to get breakfast. Until a hand on her shoulder stopped her.
"Where do you think you are going?" Frieza asked.
"What does it look like? I'm getting breakfast before we go." She snapped.
He clearly was not in a patient mood today. In fact, he seemed downright pissed about something. About what? She may never know. Lily doubts he'd tell her what's up his ass this lovely morning.
"You just obtained a large amount of supplies yesterday. Let's go, you eat later." He said, with impatience.
Seriously? It won't take her long. The food is already ready. All she had to do was go up and grab a plate. But the look he was giving her told her this was not the time to argue.
"Fine." She muttered.
They checked out and were on their way. Before leaving, Lily asked the 'concierge' where she could obtain a vehicle. He told her there was a vehicle lot about fifteen blocks northwest of here. He gave her the name of the place and the address. Luckily, it didn't seem all that busy yet. They must have just beat the early morning traffic. It made their walk to the vehicle place go a lot quicker. Once there, she looked through the vehicles. Lily found a nice small, compact one for two people. The lot owner told her, it was one of their latest models.
Another odd thing about their vehicles. Besides the fact, they hover and have no wheels. They also seem to run on a internal battery, rather than gas. From what this man was telling them. It sounds like the vehicles on this earth can travel at greater speeds than the modern day cars at home. He explained where everything was in the one she was looking at. Also how it works and told her how often the battery needed to be recharged. Which is surprisingly not very often at all. She bought it with her 'fast card'. Then on the way out of his office, grabbed a driver's instruction manual.
Frieza conveniently swiped the manual from her jumped into the driver's seat, and began skimming through it.
"Hmph, easy enough." He said. Then threw it down by her feet in the passenger seat.
Not feeling amused by his attitude. Lily couldn't stay silent much longer. "Next time just ask for it, don't go ripping shit out of my hands."
"Please, by the time you read through that thing we wouldn't have been able to leave until late afternoon. Even then I wouldn't trust your driving." He told her.
'Oh Hell No!' She was about to ream him a new one when he roughly shoved it in reverse. Making her fly forward slightly into the council. Had Lily not caught herself with her hands. She probably would've face planted into it. Then she really would've put a boot up his ass.
In twenty- five minutes they made it to the barrier at the end of town. Wasting no time, he approached it. Just like the vehicle they were in yesterday, as soon as they got close enough the plasma wall shrank away. Then let them through and closed back up right away after they left. They found themselves flying down a dirt road. Putting more and more distance between them and Elysium.
"So, you going to tell me who pissed in your cheerios this morning? Or do I have to guess?" Lily asked.
He just gave her a funny look. "I beg your pardon?"
"I'm asking what your so angry about this morning." Lily said.
He looked back to the road. "I'm not angry, what gave you that assumption?"
"The fact you rushed us out of the hotel quite hastily. The fact that you ripped the manual from my hands. Then insulted me on my driving skills. Need I keep going?" She asked.
He sighs trying to keep himself composed. "You seem to forget Little One. This is not some vacation. We need to get to this sacred area on the other side of this godforsaken world in order to get back to our own universe."
"How do you know we are going the right way? I didn't see you asking anyone for directions." She said.
"We will find a way there ourselves. Shouldn't be too difficult to navigate." He said.
"Really, because I happen to know for a fact your going the wrong way." She told him.
He looked at her with a raised eye ridge. "How exactly do you know this?"
She went to her newly acquired wrist com and hit a couple buttons. Up popped a holographic road map or GPS if you will.
"Unlike you, I actually asked for directions. They were nice enough to not only tell me the exact location. But graciously helped me look it up on this digital map here. And according to it, you were suppose to make a right about twenty-six miles back." She said with a smug smile.
He slammed the breaks, making her go forward once again. Good thing she found the time to put on the small safety harness this time. Otherwise Lily would've had a free and not so fun flying lesson.
"Anything else you so graciously wish to rub in my face, Little One?" Frieza asked, through gritted teeth.
"No, but I will ask you to again stop with your ridiculous pet names. I do have a name you know." She said in annoyance.
"Hmph, I don't care." He says, as he turns them around and heads back to the turn off.
"Well, for the sake of argument. I'm just going to tell you anyway. Because I'm tired of your not so flattering pet names. My name is Liliana, though everyone calls me Lily." She informed him.
He snorts. "What a ghastly name. Your parents must've really been scraping the bottom of the barrel to grab at that name."
"Your one to talk, since yours is akin to 'Refrigerator'. You want to talk about funny names. Yours is one that sounds like some fancy new icebox model. Or something you'd name a pet your not to fond of." Lily says.
Then reaches into her 'magic pack' as she calls it. Pulls out a piece of fruit, a granola bar, and a yogurt. It's not much but it will hold her over.
"How dare you. My name is a strong family name from one of the most powerful royal families in the universe." He shot back.
"You say that like it's suppose to mean something. And I don't give a flying shit." She retorts back.
"As if your opinion matters...Woman." He said.
"In a moment, this 'woman' is going to smash this yogurt cup over your head. You know with someone who claims they are from royalty. You have no manners or good social skills." Lily fired back.
"I do have manners and social skills as you so elegantly put it. I have respect for those I deem worthy. Though there are not many I come across who are. Why would I waste good manners on low level worms that don't deserve it?" He said.
"Or maybe you can't stand the fact that some of us 'low level worms' are able to accomplish things. Stuff you were never able to accomplish in your long, bitter, and miserable life." Lily said.
"Oh, and who are some of these low level achievers you speak of? I can't fathom you mean yourself." He finished with a chuckle.
"Well Goku and Vegeta to name a couple. How many times were they able to achieve the things you couldn't? What's the tally at for how many times they defeated you now, was it five times?" She said with sarcasm.
Frieza grips the steering wheel so hard. He's surprised it didn't bend under the pressure. 'Will the impact really kill her if I threw her from the vehicle?' He contemplated.
"You really do need to watch your tongue...Liliana." He spat.
"Well you did ask who. I merely just answered your question, and just 'Lily'." She stated.
"Those primates have just been lucky. But not everything will always go their way. One day they will fall to me. And when I make my wish. I will destroy earth and the dragon balls, along with it. So that no one will bring them back." He said.
"You call it luck, but your wrong. It's not luck at all." She replied.
"I'm sorry, but exactly how long have you known those monkeys? It couldn't be long. Seeing as I've never seen or heard of you before my very recent trip back to earth. You can't possibly know all of our history in such a short time of being in their presence." He said.
"I may not have been with them long. But Goku, Whis, and Lord Beerus told me all I really needed to know about your decade's long rivalry with each other. Of course there were times I tried talking with Vegeta. But he would just grunt and say, 'Piss off girl. I'm busy.' Lily said, in her best Vegeta's voice.
Frieza burst out laughing at her horrible imitation. "Yes, the prince never really was one for small talk. Unless it was to mock or gloat. I dare say, your lucky you even got five words out of him."
She smiled while watching the scenery around them. "Yeah, I hate to say it. But it's time's like that, I wonder what Bulma see's in him. But there must be something there and that's why she stuck with him for so long. He may not wear his feelings on his sleeve like Goku. But that doesn't make him any less of a good man either. No one is ever the same. If everyone had the same personality and views. I'd imagine the world be a pretty boring place."
"Just like not everyone has the same cause or purpose" He said, while not taking his eyes off the road ahead.
She looks back at him. "But causes and purposes can branch out into many different directions and don't always stay the same. Question is, which direction are you willing to take?"
He sighs. "I think you mean to ask, which direction 'must' we take. Not everything is as easy to change as you think it is...Lily."
Before she could continue, they spot something, no someone on the side of the road up ahead. As they drew closer, they could make out a man. He was by a hover car that had some smoke billowing out of it. He was waving his arms to flag them down.
"Frieza, pull over he needs help." Lily told him.
"You can't be serious, Little One." He said.
And just like that, we're back to the pet names.
"I'm very serious. The man needs help. The last thing anyone would want, is to be stranded out here. You and I know this well enough from our first night here." She replied.
"Someone else will come along to help. We have somewhere we need to be and cannot afford anymore delays." Frieza said.
"Who? Have you seen any other hover cars on this stretch of road since we started? Because I sure as hell have not. Please just humor me, just this once and pull over." She insisted.
Frieza knows if he doesn't, he will never hear the end of it from her. The last thing he needs right now, is listen to her prattling on about it for the rest of the drive. He was forming a slight headache as it was. So he began slowing down and moving to the side of the road the man was standing.
Another uplifting chapter between our two main characters. Wonder what the problem could be with the mystery motorists. Until Next Time ;)
