I do not own FMA: B or Harry Potter
Ling Yao wanted a Philosopher Stone so bad he was willing to follow a creature that made him feel sick. Now two days after leaving Central he could honestly say he didn't regret his choice. Still, he'd been annoyed when none of them would tell him where they were going, well all but Aria who simply shrugged letting him know they were going home. None of them said where home was however which was kind of annoying but he was willing to bet that was what the three other males were going for. At least, Aria was indulging his questions. Watching her build a bridge of ice so that they could walk onto an island; he noticed the spark of mischief in her eyes. It was subtle but he still noticed it in her bright eyes. He didn't even care when Envy darted off into the town for some reason.
They weren't warm or happy, but bright reminding him of a glittering gem catching in the light. He couldn't help from noticing her eyes which led to Greed noticing him staring at her from time to time. The amused yet protective glances from the Homunculus were slightly unsettling. Stepping off the bridge of ice he tensed as a figure darted from the treeline to hug Aria; it wouldn't have been so strange if the man didn't have a tail. Why did he have a tail? Was he one of the chimeras that Edward had told him about, if so why was he currently sobbing into her shirt. Watching her bear the attention with practiced ease, he didn't notice Kimblee moving until the other man called something about going to take a bath. Looking down he could agree that a bath sounded really good right now.
"Bido, have there been any issues," Greed asked once Bido had calmed down. The gecko chimera shook his head causing the immortal to relax. Starting the walk to the house, he noticed Ling looking around in fascination but he held back his smirk. He would be teasing the boy later. Right now he had four humans to feed; Kimblee would be annoyed if there was no food when he got out of the bath. Looking to his Ice Alchemist he barely had time to open his mouth before she nodded in understanding.
"I'll go hunting," she announced. Vanishing into the forest, she frowned slightly. Maybe it was time to set up a garden or a fishing system. They were living on an island after all. Besides with the number of people to feed it was only a matter of time until they overhunted the island. Laying a hand on a tree she turned the wood into throwing knives, before heading off to find prey.
She didn't mind hunting, and this time there was no Envy to attack her, instead, all she had to worry about were insects or wild animals. Hunting was a relaxing time that she could use to consider her next move. Right now, they were resting after having attacked the most powerful creature in Amestris; he'd been easier to trick than she'd thought he would be. It was doubtful that he would fall for the same trick twice. In fact, it was almost a guarantee he wouldn't; they'd showed their hand and now they were the ones to play defense for a while.
Without a doubt, she knew that they were going to be hunted for their actions. Normal soldiers wouldn't stand a chance against two Homunculi, two skilled Alchemists, and whatever Ling was, so it was a given he would send either Homunculi or something different. Perhaps he would send chimeras, according to Greed, he'd sent them to back up Envy. Other Alchemists were also a possibility, however, she would try to keep any skilled Alchemists close at hand in case of betrayal.
Now that Lust was dead and Envy had joined their side, only Gluttony, Wrath, Pride, and Sloth were left. From what she knew, Pride was both the oldest and the strongest of the Homunculi, he would be the most likely choice. Unless, of course, Wrath decided to come after them again. If he did then she would take care of him herself; there was a reason she'd picked an island to make their base. The least likely option would be the revival of Lust given that she was burned to death, it wasn't likely.
Either way, the second option rather than Father sending someone to deal with them, was that they were left alone. This would give them time to prepare for their second assault but it would also give the same amount of time to their enemies. She honestly would rather this be the outcome, it would give her time to gain more combat experience with her Alchemy. While she'd done well when fighting Gluttony, that was only because she had an advantage in size and speed. She needed to learn how to better use the Philosopher stone too.
Weapons were another factor. While she could make knives and swords, she would rather have something solid. Maybe she could add a Transmutation Circle to her weapon too; a basic one rather than anything elemental based. There was also the fact that she needed to learn how to better fight in unarmed combat. She wasn't very big and most of the time she was still fragile. Given that Ling had fought Homunculi he could probably teach her how to fight, so she would ask him at dinner.
Kimblee might help her with her Alchemy training and he did have more experience. It wasn't like anyone else was suddenly going to pop up and offer to train her. Greed and Envy were unable to use Alchemy so they were out and Bido couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. Another reason she would rather have Kimblee train her was that she liked being around him. He was a brilliant Alchemist and he talked to her like an adult rather than a child.
Hours later when she sat at the dinner table watching Ling stare at her in shock because of her request, she felt nothing but nervousness. He looked so stunned by her request that she almost decided to take it back. It didn't make sense for her to ask him something so strange, did it? Locking her ankles under the table she looked down at the table to avoid his eyes. While her words had silenced everyone, she now wished that someone was making noise. The silence was worse than shouting would have been.
"I would be honored to help you," Ling said once he remembered how talking worked. It hadn't helped that Greed had been glaring at him the second Aria started to feel nervous.
"And I'll help with Alchemy training," Kimblee announced. The words caused Aria to nod eagerly despite the still slightly apathetic look on her face.
"I'd suggest we all start training at dawn, the only way to win is to be prepared," Ling said his eyes going to the Homunculus in the room. Greed nodded.
"Ling can help Aria with unarmed combat, while Kimblee and I work on a plan to deal with Father and my siblings, then we can switch around noon," he said while tapping his hand n the table. Seeing the glint of determination in Aria's eyes he resisted the urge to sigh. She was going to completely overdo it wasn't she. Deciding to try and deal with the upcoming issue before it became a problem he said, "And Kitten, make sure not to get injured."
Despite the way she nodded in agreement he had the feeling that she would not only overdue it but that she would convince Ling to follow her lead. He supposed it was only natural since they were both young. It wouldn't be a good idea however and he was hoping they would play this smart. Granting Aria's request to leave, not that she had to ask, he turned his attention to Ling as Kimblee vanished up the stairs to his room. The boy didn't wilt under his gaze instead he smiled as if there was nothing wrong.
"My goal is the Philosopher Stone," he announced deciding to lay all his cards on the table.
Resting his chin on his palm, Greed nodded; he'd already guessed that the boy had followed them for some reason. He supposed that it wasn't that shocking the boy would want something that everyone else saught after. In truth, he didn't mind giving the boy a stone either, however, he wanted something in return. He just wasn't ready to say what that thing was. Instead, he smirked at the boy who met his gaze without fear.
"I have a stone you can have, but you have to convenience me," he stated before motioning for the boy to do just that.
Without wasting time, Ling dove into the reasoning behind his quest for the stone and his desire to gain the throne of Xing. There was no reason to lie to the Homunculus who listened without interruption or comment. By the time he finished telling about the situation back home, he wasn't able to stop himself from telling the man about what had happened since he arrived in this country. It was actually nice to voice his experiences and let himself growl about Lan Fan losing her arm. The understanding on Greed's face when he voiced his anger at Bradley was what really caused him to lay a bit of trust out to the Homunculus.
Greed hardly realized but it was almost midnight by the time the boy stopped talking. He agreed with the kid's hate of Wrath; seriously attacking a woman was wrong. The desire in his voice for the ability to rule his country was something that Greed could agree with. In all honestly, he didn't mind giving the kid a stone, he'd been planning on doing so when the boy mentioned that he was a prince. The kid was one of his possessions after all and he treated them well.
"Alright," he said causing the kid to stare at him in shock. Scoffing he rolled his eyes before saying, "on the condition that you wait until after I trust you. I would rather not have the stone's power turned on me."
Despite the clear urge to argue the boy nodded in agreement. Standing Greed ordered the kid to get some sleep before heading off to his room. While he didn't need to sleep, he would still rather just lay in his bed and relax. It was really the only thing he wanted at the moment. Opening the door to his room and finding Kimblee reading on his bed, wasn't expected.
The man had taken his hair out of the ponytail letting it flow over his shoulder giving him a more feminine appearance. Greed couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to run his fingers through the man's hair. He was betting it would be silky; Kimblee was a very well-groomed person. Moving past the hair, which was honestly hard, the blue-eyed man was also wearing white pants and nothing else. Was everything he owned white? He was willing to bet that it was.
Seeing the amused smirk on Kimblee's face he straightened and entered the room with a confident grin that belied none of his confusion. Seriously why was there a half-naked man sitting on his bed; not that he didn't appreciate the sight. Closing the door before Aria could enter and see the man, he still wasn't having that conversation with her, he turned to speak only to feel a hand close around his neck. Letting the Alchemist push him against the door, he raised an eyebrow.
"Greed the Avaricious," the man mused as he met his eyes with uncharacteristic seriousness. His heartbeat sped up at the way the Alchemist said his name and Greed felt his fingers twitch toward the man. Staying still as the grip on his throat tightened Greed ran his eyes down the other man's body. He was so focused on tracing the man's chest with his eyes that he almost missed Kimblee saying, "I don't get into relationships for fun. If this is simply a passing whim, I will walk out that door."
"It's not."
Kimblee was his; not just as an Alchemist but his. The fierce growl that followed the words was quickly silenced by Kimblee pressing his lips against Greed's. It wasn't hesitant or soft; the kiss was just as rough as the grip the Alchemist had on his neck. The immediate reaction of Greed tangling his hand in the man's hair to pull him closer was just as rough.
(Aria)
Waking at the beginning rays of dawn, she was walking down the stairs only moments after Ling finished making a quick breakfast. Eating in silence, Aria considered what the best way to start the training was. If she was going to learn unarmed combat then, it would only be fair to give him something in return. Nothing else would make sense. The only thing she could teach him however was Alchemy. Given that he was from Xing he might not even want to learn Amestrian Alchemy, however, she needed to do something to repay him.
She knew Water Alchemy inside and out, along with being skilled in normal Alchemy. There had to be something she could teach him that would pay for his help. Humming softly in thought she didn't notice Ling watching her until she glanced up. Tensing under his gaze she shifted nervously before playing with the cuff of her glove. Following her action with his eyes, he realized she was nervous all too easily. Putting an easygoing smile on his face he leaned closer to her.
"So have you got any training in unarmed combat," he asked brightly. The slumping of her shoulders as she relaxed made him mentally cheer as she glanced up to meet his eyes.
"Some but not much real combat experience," she said. Nodding, he remembered her movement against Gluttony and decided to focus on speed rather than force. He would also work on teaching her the Xingese fighting style of doing whatever it took to win. Dirty tricks for the win. Moving on, he'd never actually taught anyone before but he doubted it would be hard. He'd always learned his lessons fairly easily so it couldn't be that hard.
"We'll do some sparring then," he decided. He had to know what level she was on before he started teaching her anything. Tilting his head slightly he asked, "what about weapons?"
"Daggers mostly," she stated.
"Really I like swords better," he mumbled.
Lips twitching upward into a sad smile, she motioned for him to follow as she stood. Leading him to the training area she'd created while hunting yesterday, she watched him lean his sword against a tree. Watching his every move she shrugged off her jacket before folding it and laying it on a rock. She had no doubt it would be interesting to spar with him. His lean figure meant he was more of an agile fighter than a brute; he might just be the perfect person to help her.
Their sparing match wasn't quick, despite what she'd said earlier. He quickly found that Aria was fast, her small form allowing her to get inside his guard a lot quicker than anyone else would have been able to. More than that she never made the same mistake twice and he was sure she was studying him the exact way he was studying her. It made the spar all the more fun. There were a few flaws in her form mostly because whoever taught her was a much larger person, compared to her, and she was overextending.
He hadn't realized how tiny she really was until he was tossing her across the makeshift ring. His hesitance to follow the movement was exploited by the girl who landed easily; she would do well with the nasty tricks and weapons his people used. He won the spar after he figured out that she could take any of his blows and return them with vicious efficiency. Now they were simply laying on the ground waiting for Kimblee to arrive and pull her away for her Alchemy lessons. After of course eating a quick lunch; she'd made sure to mention that Greed had a habit of over-worrying if his possessions didn't eat. Ling was quick to agree with him.
"How do you feel about learning Alchemy," she asked suddenly as she sat up. Looking at him with a predatory glint in her eyes she didn't notice him shiver under her gaze.
"I've never actually thought about it," he admitted. While he found Alchemy fascinating, he hadn't had the time to actually try to learn it. The hunt for the stone had been the only thing he could think about.
"I'm going to teach you," she stated as if his opinion didn't matter. Instead of growing angry at the demanding tone, he smiled.
"Now doesn't that sound interesting."
Kimblee's words startled both the teens who turned to look at him with vastly different expressions. Aria was slightly excited while Ling seemed wary of his attention. He completely understood why the boy would be wary of him. Studying the boy, he wondered if he would have any talent in Alchemy. Not everyone would be able to put in the work to learn something so complicated. From what he'd seen, the boy was intelligent and observant. It was possible that he could be an excellent Alchemist. Feeling his hand twitch, he allowed a slow wicked smirk to stretch across his face.
(Envy)
Circling the house in the form of a hawk, they watched Greed sunbathe on the roof with thinly veiled amusement. It would be so easy to ruin their brother's day, instead, they flew down and landed on the roof. Shifting back to their humanoid form, they felt a bit annoyed when Greed didn't even open his eyes. The man wasn't asleep; Homonculi couldn't sleep. Wrinkling their nose when they breathed in, Envy stared at the man with their mouth hanging open.
Their brother had finally gotten a clue and realized he licked Crimson; they just wished he'd taken a bath before coming to imitate a fat cat. It explained why their brother was so relaxed too; not that they wanted anything to do with their brother's sex life. In truth, thy would rather not know that such a thing existed. Shuddering Envy kicked the older Homunculus with just enough force to get his attention. The action succeeded in breaking their brother out of whatever fantasy he'd been having.
"Have a nice trip," he asked as his eyes opened slowly. Stretching his arms like a cat waking from a nap, the older Homunculus grinned up at his brother with an amused expression.
"Sure, I found out that the Fullmetal pipsqueak was sent to the north," they said ignoring the smugness radiating from their brother. Shifting in discomfort, they glanced at the roof wondering if it would be okay for them to lay down beside him. Then they disregarded the thought and said, "And that Scar is heading in the same direction."
Nodding to show he was listening, Greed looked up at the sky. It wouldn't do for Scar to kill the pipsqueak well until the promised day was past. Also, it would be better to communicate with the kid rather than to go completely silent. The best person to do that would be Envy since they had the ability to be anyone or anything. Glancing at his sibling who was standing awkwardly, he judged the distance between them for a moment.
"Mind being our contact with the kid," he asked. Noticing Envy's brow furrow at the idea of being asked rather than ordered, he began to slowly reach out his hand.
"Why not, better than sticking around watching you train the brats," they snapped. A hand closed around their ankle causing their eyes to widen seconds before Greed tugged. Yelping the younger Homunculus crashed down beside him as Greed laughed like an insane criminal. Bristling Envy slapped the man on the shoulder but didn't make a move to get up.
Hi, sorry for the wait; I was planning on posting this last night but I almost fainted so I decided to wait. I still don't feel well, but I need to publish this chapter.
Anyway, what did you guys think?
Stay safe and have a good day
