Hello Everyone! Last we checked in Lily and Frieza had a nasty close run in with another demon. They narrowly escaped in time. But not before Frieza was bit by the demon and poisoned. Now Lily is racing to save his life. Will they find a cure in time? Read and find out. Enjoy :)

Lily sped down the road, keeping her eyes peeled for signs of civilization. Frieza was having a harder time staying awake now. "Just hang in there a little longer. We will find somewhere to go. Please try and stay awake."

"I'm trying, but it's getting harder to breathe." He said between gasps.

"Just talk to me." She said.

"About what?" He asked.

"Anything, as long as it keeps you awake." She told him.

"I'm afraid not much comes to mind at the moment." He replied.

"Where did you grow up? What was your favorite food as a kid? How old were you when you started training? Start there." She listed off.

He let out a weak laugh. "That's the most random line of questioning anyone's ever asked me. But fine, I'll start there."

He took a deep breath and began, "I was born and raised on the planet know as Arcose. I started training as soon as I was old enough to walk. As for favorite food? Nothing really comes to mind."

Lily then started with her next round of questioning. She kept it up for the next hour before she finally spotted lights in the distance. "Frieza, I see lights up ahead. Stay with me, we will be there soon."

She's not sure why she did it. But she reached over and grasped his hand, giving it a firm yet reassuring squeeze. She didn't expect anything from it. But to her shock, he squeezed her hand back. It was a very weak grip and she was really starting to worry now.

They finally reached what looked like a heavily guarded army base. They didn't get any closer than eight yards before someone shined spot lights on them. She kept going, slowing down when she got to the base's barricade.

"Hello?! Please, we need help. I have someone with me who requires immediate medical attention! Hello? Can anyone hear me?!" Lily shouted.

Then she heard someone over a loud speaker. "Your in the clear, come through the barricade."

She wasted no time and drove through. Where she was instantly greeted by several soldiers with guns. "Please, we need to get him to your medical bay as soon as possible."

One soldier went to the passenger side to evaluate Frieza. Who by now was drifting in and out of consciousness and his pale skin was starting to look ashen. Even his purple bio gems were dulling in color. The soldier nodded to one of the others.

"Set up a cot right away. Call in Delaney, tell him we need him stat. He appears to be poisoned. He will need a dose of Mycese." He ordered.

He spoke into his wrist com and gave the order. Two more soldiers went to the passenger side. They each pulled out a set of strange metallic wands. They hit a button on each side and with a beep a thin rectangular gray transparent film appeared and stretched between the four metallic wands. Lily realized it was some kind of stretcher! They eased Frieza out of the seat and laid him down on the stretcher. A hover Humvee came over and they loaded him into the back.

"Wait let me go with him." She ran over and they held the door open for her. Then the driver made a 180 degree turn and sped off.

They parked in front of a nice size building and unloaded him from the back and rushed the stretcher inside. Lily ran beside the stretcher never taking her eyes off Frieza's prone form. He was completely out now, but still breathing. They got him to a room that had a wall with rows of cabinets and a long table with multiple sinks running along it. Adjacent to that wall sat three cots. Each with machines attached to the front. They brought him to the nearest one and laid him down on it.

A balding man with glasses came running in not soon after. "I've brought the Mycese, where is the patient?"

The soldier pointed to the cot. Lily was sitting beside him on the cot. She looked up with tears in her eyes. "Please help him, he's dying."

He went over and found his wound. The doctor than uncapped some strange looking canister, held up Frieza's arm and poor a small amount of this abnormally bright white liquid over it. It then...slithered? Yeah, it slithered up into his wound. Soon the yellow poison mixed in with his blood started to disappear. He gasped and his eyes slowly fluttered open.

"He will be okay now. He may still be weak and feverish for a little while. But the medicine will completely works it's way through his body and he will make a full recovery. Right now, it's important that he rests." The doctor said.

By now Lily had tears running down her cheeks. She have the doctor a weak smile. "Thank You, so much."

"Lily?" Came a whisper.

She turned back to Frieza who appeared better but very groggy.

He looked at her tear stained face and uttered. "I'm sorry."

She grabbed his hand. "It's okay, your going to be okay now. They gave you medicine, you will recover soon."

He gave her a brief smile that quickly morphed into a grimace and he started to shake. "What's wrong?"

"I'm cold." He whispered.

"That would be the fever fighting the infection, it's a normal reaction." Said the Doctor.

Lily pulled the cover's up from the foot of the cot and put them around him. But he was still shaking.

"Do you have extra blankets that we can use, Doctor?" She asked.

"You could, but there is a better solution to that." He told her.

"Which is?" She asked.

He took his glasses off and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Body heat, the poison not only compromised his immune system and body. It also brought down his core temperature. Body heat is the best way to bring it back up."

'Oh man, where was this going?' "Are you saying I need to lay next to him and share my body heat?" She asked.

"It's the most effective way. If you want to bring his core temp up faster then yes, you should." He informed her.

She bit her lip. "Ummm, you see; I don't think he want's me that close to him. Let alone touching him..."

"It's okay Lily, I'll allow it. Just hurry up. I'm freezing." Frieza rasped.

She let out a deep breath and muttered. "Okay."

She pulled back the cover's just enough to squeeze in beside him. She laid down with only a few inches separating them.

"Excuse Me Doctor, but what exactly is that stuff you gave him? I mean demons are immortal. I would think you would need something else from a similar origin." Lily asked.

"This is, it's called Mycese or Divine Medicine. Some was given to us by some gods sympathetic to our plight. It's the only cure for a demon's poison. Your friend here is very lucky. Without it, I'm afraid you would've been saying good bye." He told her.

"If that is the case, then I really can't thank you enough." Lily said.

"It's no problem. I'm a Doctor, it's what we do." He told them.

A beeping came from his wrist com followed by a voice. "Doctor Delaney, they need you down in section 4, over."

"Be right down, over and out." He said, before looking back to the couple. "Well, that's my cue. Please feel free to call us up on the intercom if you need anything." With that he got up and left the room, leaving the two of them alone.

She turned back towards Frieza. "Is this helping at all?"

He reached over and pulled her on top of him. Causing her to squeak in surprise.

"Now it is, you were too far away before" He said.

She had to hold her head up to keep from knocking her face into his. Her chest and tummy were pressed up against his front with both her legs straddling on either side of his.

"Okay, now this is getting awkward." Lily said, a little uneasy.

He cracked open an eye to look at her and smiled. "But it is indeed working, your like a furnace."

Tired of holding up her head. She slides down his front to lay her cheek on his chest and brought her legs closer together. While Frieza wrapped his arms and his tail around her to keep her in place.

"I'm sorry, I should've moved faster. If I did then you wouldn't have gotten bit." She told him.

"Hmmm, better me than you. If you were the one infected I doubt we would've made it here before you succumbed to this poison and expired." Frieza replied. 'Lies, he didn't want to see her get hurt,' his mind shouted.

"Okay fair enough, it would've been better if neither of us got bit." She said.

"Something tells me it was inevitable this time, Lily." Frieza said.

"Now I know your very feverish. I never heard you use my name so much." She teased.

"Silence, before I toss you from this cot." He said.

"Then out walks your own personal furnace, buddy." She says as she pokes his chest.

He grabs her hand and put's it over his shoulder. "I must ask, why were you crying before, Little One?"

She swallowed. "Because I didn't want to see someone else die."

'Though in truth, she was afraid she was going to lose him. She was starting to get attached to him. As much as she tries to force away the growing feelings and thoughts. They keep rearing back up to the forefront of her mind.'

"Because you were afraid to die." He stated.

"No, that didn't even cross my mind at the time. I really just didn't want to witness another person dying. I have witnessed enough death to last me a lifetime." She said.

He frowns, 'He knows what she is referring to. The massacre of those bandits he himself subjected her to.' He started playing with strands of her hair.

"I cannot promise you I won't hurt someone else. But I can promise you this. I won't kill anyone else, Lily." Frieza assured her.

Tears started clouding her vision. "Are you sure that is a promise you can keep?" She asked in a slightly shaky voice.

He shifted the hand that was playing with her hair to cup her cheek.

"Yes." He said softly.

The tears spilled from her eyes, dripping onto his chest. He slowly began rubbing her cheek.

"I found out something new with my wrist com in terms of navigation. Not only does it show us directions to the Sacred Area. But another setting actually tells you when you will reach it. According to the navigation system. It says we will reach our destination in another four months and eight days." Lily informed him.

He was silent for a moment. "As long as we can get there, then that's fine."

His answer surprised her. She was sure hearing this news would've made him downright irritated. Instead he seems relatively calm. 'He's still sick. It will probably hit him once he's better and then he will probably be back to his old pissy self again.'

"At least we now have a date. Should start counting down." She said.

"Trying to be rid of me already?" He teased.

"Oh yeah, can't you tell? I'm just 'dying' to get away from you." She says playfully.

He smirks. "Well, at least I won't have to listen to your infernal snoring anymore."

She picked up her head to look at him. "Bullshit. I don't snore."

He began laughing and Lily made to get up. But he held fast and wouldn't let her up.

"Where do you think your going, Little One?" He asked between laughs.

"To sleep in another room. Seeing as you don't want to listen to anymore of my 'snoring' tonight." Lily replied, with sarcasm.

He tightened his arms and tail around her. "No, your my personal furnace remember? Would you really leave me to suffer all night without warmth?"

She rolls her eyes. "You survived much worse. I'm sure one night won't do you any harm."

"Perhaps, I prefer to keep you close by. Would you really deny me that after all we've been through so far?" He asked.

She huffs. "Fine, Lizard Boy. You win this time. Only because I'm tired and want to sleep."

He smiles in triumph. "Very well then. I'll leave you to it."

For a brief moment, she looks into his eyes. Then they travel down the slope of his petite nose to his pert dark lips where they linger there. She blinks and then slides herself down his front again and lays her head back down on his chest.

"Good Night." She says then closes her eyes.

He rubs the bottom of his chin across the top of her head.

"Sleep well...My Liliana." He whispers. Then he too shortly follows her into a deep peaceful slumber.

Sorry, couldn't resist adding in some cute little fluff. Looks like something maybe finally starting to blossom between these two. Wonder where it may bring them next. Until Next Time ;)
