Happy 4th of July Everyone! Here's the next exciting chapter. Look's like things are starting to get serious for Lily and Frieza. Question is how far will they be willing to take it? Enjoy :)

The first thing Lily felt when she woke up was well rested and someone playing with her hair. The pillow her head rested on was warm, firm, and...moving? Now she remembered. Frieza and her had a run in with a demon last night. Frieza was bitten trying to protect her which resulted in him being poisoned. Luckily, they made it to an army base that had the right medicine to counteract the poison. While recuperating, he became cold and he pulled her on top of him last night. That's how she woke up, still very much on top of him.

"Sleep Well, Little One?" He asked.

"I should be asking you that. How are you feeling?" Lily asked him.

"I feel like I'm quite back to normal." He told her.

She picked up her head and looked down at his face. "So my nonexistent 'snoring' didn't keep you awake then?" she teased.

He smirked, "Well there was a time during the night I thought I heard what I thought was one of those creatures in here. But even then, they're not that loud. Though when I realize the sound came from right above me. I realized it was a false alarm and went back to sleep."

She swatted his shoulder making him laugh. "You Little Shit."

He held up his hands in defense. "Well, at least one of us was on watch for any signs of danger."

She quirked an eyebrow. "What danger? We are in a heavily guarded Army Base."

"That doesn't mean a thing, Little One. You should never let your guard down. You never know when you maybe lured into a false sense of security." He informed her.

She snorts. "So are you going to let me up? Or you plan on sleeping in like this?"

"I'm not one for 'sleeping in.' But I don't mind the view either." He purred.

Just like that her cheeks lit up, causing his smile to widen. She cleared her throat. "Well I don't know about you. But it's been a while since we were able to bathe and I feel kind of gross. So I'm going to take advantage of the showers while we're here. Though for that to be accomplished you need to let me up."

He sighs with a small pout. 'Which for some reason she found it really cute.' Then he unravels his arms and tail, releasing her.

"I shouldn't be too long." She told him.

He sits up and cracks his neck. "Please don't be, I think I maybe getting cold again."

She laughs at his antics and grabs her stuff. "That depends on how long it takes me to find a bathroom in this place. Though if your still cold, then a warm shower would be the next best thing for you."

He gave her a wide toothy grin. "I thought you laid out some rather strict rule on taking turns while bathing?"

Her eyes widen. "And that is still very true. So do you want to go first or I can I go?" she stuttered.

He waves her off. "No, no. Ladies first."

She couldn't help it. "So you or me then?"

He narrowed his eyes and smirked, "Careful Little One, one of these days I may show you how 'male' I really am."

"No thank you." she squeaked.

Then turned abruptly and left the room, causing him to snicker at her hasty retreat. Once she left, Lily let out a deep breath she didn't even know she was holding in. Down the hall she saw three soldiers heading down her way, two men and one woman.

"Hey excuse me, but which way is the bathroom or shower quarters?" Lily asked them.

The woman soldier was the first to respond. "The women's showers are just one floor up, down the hall on the right hand side, Ma'am."

"Thank You, Miss." Lily said.

Before Lily made it a few feet she heard the female soldier speak again. "Breakfast is served on the first floor in the banquet hall in 0800 hours in case you wanted to know."

Good thing Lily brushed up on her military time to know 0800 meant 8am. So this left her with a little less than an hour to shower and get ready.

"Thank you for letting me know, I'll be there." Lily said.

They nodded and preceded down the hall.

Lily found the elevator and took it to the next floor. She went down the long hall checking each room on the right until she got near the end and found a door that said, 'Women's Showers' and went in. At first, she was worried it be just one big communal shower with no privacy. But thankfully on one side there were a series of separate stalls. Only one was being used a little further down so she had the pick of the other numerous stalls. She wasted no time in stripping and setting her things aside and entered the stall with her small cleaning bottles.

Lily took her time and enjoyed the shower spray. She even found time to finally shave after so long. 'Great, now I can finally get rid of the forest growing down below.' After fifteen minutes she finished up in the shower and made her way out to grab a towel on the wall opposite the stall.

"Guess I'm not the only one who prefers privacy while showering." Came a female voice.

Lily jumped at the voice only to be met with laughter.

"Easy there, I didn't mean to make you jump." The woman said.

Lily saw it was the one who must've occupied one of the stalls further down. She was a few inches taller than Lily with platinum blonde hair, lime green eyes, and covered head to toe in freckles. She held out her hand, the one not clutching the towel covering her fit body.

"The name's Blake, Corporal Blake. Are you one of the new first class officers, Ma'am?" The young soldier asked.

"Huh?, No I'm Lily. I just arrived here last night. Someone with me was in dire need of medical attention." She told the soldier.

"Ahhh, that was you then that came in last night. How's your friend? I'm Sure Doctor Delaney was able to take care of him. He's one of the best around." She said.

"He did, because of his quick intervention my friend was able to make a full recover over night." Lily informed her.

She smiled. "Good, anyways I need to get ready. Roll Call Duty calls. But I'll see you in the Banquet Hall."

"Sure it was nice meeting you Corp. Blake." Lily said.

She waved her hand and walked away. "Ehhh, if your going to go by first name basis, It's Avery." Then she turned the corner and left.

'Guess your finally making friends everywhere you go. If only Maya could see her now.' But as soon as Lily thought of her best friend. She felt a sharp pang in her heart. God, did she miss her. And even though she was not close to her two elder siblings she missed them a bit too. Though she especially missed her nephews. Lily may not be fond of their parents but she loved her three little nephews to pieces. She was starting to get a lump in her throat. She quickly dried off, changed back into her clothes, and left.

She was quiet when she made it back to the room her and Frieza shared.

"Well took you long enough." He teased.

Lily didn't answer just put her bathing accessories back in her sack. He noticed she looked upset and even caught some tears forming at the corner of her eyes.

"Little One, what's wrong?" Frieza asked in concern.

She gave him a tight smile. "Nothing, I'm just hungry and some soldiers told me their serving Breakfast downstairs."

He wanted to push further but decided against it. Whatever it was she obviously didn't want to divulge any information. She through the bag over her shoulder and headed out, Frieza followed quietly close behind her. The Banquet Hall was quite packed. But they managed to find some open seats. They ate in silence for a few minutes. Until a couple people sat down across from them. One she recognized as the female soldier who directed her to the showers earlier.

"If you don't mind me asking what brought you all the way out here to Fort Williamson's Army Base?" One the soldiers asked.

Frieza was the one to speak up. "We are headed to the Sacred Area. We have urgent matters to attend to."

The female soldier who's name tag said 'Estrada' looked at them wide eyed. "Sir, you do realize that's a no-man's land right? To go there is suicidal. Not to mention between here and there it's crawling with demons."

"Yes soldier, we do. But as I said it's very important we get there." Frieza told her.

The male soldier sitting next to 'Estrada', spoke up. " Just letting you know now Sir, your going to need a lot of fire power then. The name's 'Briggs' by the way."

"I assure you soldier Briggs we are well prepared for the journey at hand. Once we finish here we will soon take our leave." Frieza informed him.

"If that's the case, I'm sure we can lend you a couple weapons. There is also a tavern down this long stretch of road. If you leave early enough, you can make it there by nightfall. You can spend the night there. They have a safety barricade around their perimeter." Said Estrada.

Lily eventually broke the silence. "Thank you, we will keep that in mind."

After breakfast they excused themselves and headed over to where the garage was. They bumped into Doctor Delaney who happened to be chatting with Corp. Blake. When asked where they were headed. Corp. Blake made a small pit stop to the armory and gave them a couple small, light, heavy duty guns and some flash grenades. Stating that those demon bastards hate bright light. Doctor Delaney lent them a canister of Mycese in case of an emergency and bid them good luck. After a round of good byes and restocking their food provisions they set off in their hover car.

They traveled throughout the day without stopping. By 9:30pm they spotted lights a little further down. As they got closer, there was a decent size three story building with a barricade. In front was a sign that said 'Moon Beam Tavern'.

"This must be the place the soldiers were telling us about. Do you want to stop or keep going?" she asked.

'Though knowing him he'd most likely want to keep going.'

"Why not. You already told us how long it will take to get there. Stops between here and there won't hurt, I suppose." He said.

'Did he actually agree to stopping for the night?'

"Okay then, let's go find a parking spot." She said.

They breached the barricade and found a spot besides the building. When they got in there was music playing, some humans and aliens were dancing on a small dance floor and other's were chilling at the bar. 'When was the last time she was able to relax with a good drink?' She made her way to the bar and sat down.

"This really the time to indulge yourself, Little One?" Frieza asked, as he sat down next to her.

"It's just one drink. Plus while we're here might as well see if they have any vacant rooms." She said.

Since she wasn't too familiar with the mix drinks here she settled on a brand of dry red wine. "You getting anything?"

He shrugs. "Why not, it's been a while since I had some good wine."

They settled down with the drinks. 'Damn this wine was very potent. It tasted just like her earth's wine, but had more of a kick to it. Which mean's she really needs to take her time with this one.'

"Is this the strongest you have?" Frieza asked the bartender.

The bartender pulled out a Bottle of deep red almost black wine and poured him a cup. "This is what we call 'The Devil's Fire', Enjoy."

He took a sip. 'Well it packs a bit of a punch I suppose.'

"So what do you plan on doing once we get back to your...I mean our universe?" She asked.

He didn't miss that little slip but didn't say anything about it either. "If this is your idea of small talk you need some more work, Little One."

"Or someone just doesn't want to answer the question." She says and takes a swig from her glass.

"Why does it matter? Your going back to your Simian Friends. As for me, I'm going to kill that self proclaimed sorcerer then return to my ship." He said.

"And what, go for another attempt at earth's dragon balls? What's this attempt number twelve now?" She snips.

He snorts. "It wasn't nearly that many attempts as you put it. But my plans are for my own and something I do not wish to share with you."

"Either way no matter what you have planned, Goku and Vegeta will most likely kick your ass again." She blurted.

'Shit! Did she really just say that out loud?' He did not like her answer, not one bit.

He glared at her. "It will not always end the same. One day I will vanquish those monkeys and take my rightful place as the most powerful being in the cosmos once again."

'And there he goes again. With his devious plans of universal domination.' She took another swig of her wine. At this point, Lily was halfway through her glass and was starting to feel it.

"Maybe you need some new hobbies?" She said.

'Yep, her mind was starting to go hazy.'

He gave her a puzzled look. "Hobbies? What does that have to do with any of it?"

Before she could stop herself she took another swig from the glass. "You know, Hobbies." She said with air quotes. "Like I exercise, paint, read, play with my dog, and take out my bicycle. Or maybe you should think of taking up another kind of job."

He thought. 'What in the multiverse was she talking about?'

"I mean there is a ton of other things you can do besides take over planets." Lily said. As she knocked back another swig of her wine.

He furrowed his eye ridge. 'She really wasn't making any sense right now.' After he saw her take another sip she squinted her eyes shut and shook her head slightly. 'She's drunk!'

"Little One, I think you had enough." Frieza informed her.

He reached for her glass. But she quickly pulled it back. "No, this one's mine. You have your own."

"At least drink some water with it then." He said, clearly annoyed.

"I'm Fine." She took another big swig and let out a loud belch.

At this point he didn't know whether or not to be disgusted or amused by that.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to tonight's festivities! In lieu of our happy hour we also present to you the start to Karaoke Night!" Shouted a voice over a loudspeaker.

Everyone started cheering and applauding.

"Well that sounds like fun." She said as she took another swig from her glass.

It was a slow start at first, but eventually more people went up with some songs. Most were drunk of course. A couple of them barely made it through there selection before dropping the mike and running to the bathroom to puke. While others could barely hold a tune. As Lily downed the last of her wine. She worked up the courage and got out of her seat. Then headed to the small stage.

Frieza grabbed her shoulder. "What are you doing?"

"Having some fun. you ought to try it sometime." She said, slurring her words now.

With that, Lily ripped her shoulder from his grasp and made her way to the front. Not wanting to make a scene, Frieza just remained in his seat, dreading what will come of this course of action. The best part of this Karaoke. You could hook up your phone or any other portable device to it and it will start loading a song straight from you own playlist. It has a special converter that converts the song to instrumental and displays the words on to a holographic screen off to the side. She knew exactly what song she wanted to sing. Lily plugged it into the Karaoke's Converter. Then the song started and she sang out the first notes.

"I don't know your heart

I don't know where to begin

But I could feel you erasing

The rivers I'd drawn in

The more I stood still

The faster you were running

You don't know how it feels

Crawling under your skin

So far, so far away

Don't you know we could be

High or Low

You never fell beneath me

And I gave up on you

But I never forgot you

I can't be your friend

Hold your hand while you bleed

There's nothing left to give you

Nothing more I need

Time to let it sleep

Oh, the damage was real

But nothing cut me so deep

I could not heal

Don't you know we could be

High or Low

You never fell beneath me

And I gave up on you

But I never forgot you

~Instrumental Solo...~

High or Low

You never fell beneath me

And I gave up on you

But I never forgot..."

As soon as she finished the last note, everyone started cheering. Lily didn't realize until now she had been staring at Frieza the whole time she sang. He had a look of surprise on his face with just maybe a hint of awe. She smiled at him and then suddenly everything went dark. She passed out on the stage. Everyone went silent. He just smacked his forehead and grumbled while shaking his head. Frieza then got up, and went to go pick her up off the floor. He made his way back to the bartender and asked for a room.

The bartender handed him a room card key. "That girl of yours has some set of pipes on her. Been a long time since we had anyone in here that could actually sing and carry a tune like that."

Frieza didn't say a word, and carried her upstairs to their room. The door slid open and he laid her down gently on the bed. He looked down at her and sighs.

"You never cease to surprise me do you, Lily?" He pulled up the covers and made her more comfortable. He turned out the light and settled in besides her. Shutting his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Hope everyone enjoyed this cute and funny chapter. Had a lot of fun writing it. Guess if there's one thing Lily is good at, it is singing and embarrassing Frieza.

I sadly don't own the song or lyrics. Shout out to everyone who recognized this song after the first verse. The Song title is, "Hi-Lo" by Evanescence off their amazing album 'Synthesis'. All lyrical and musical rights belong to them.

This band is very special to me. For their music helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life. Amy Lee is amazingly talented and has such a beautiful voice.

Until Next Time ;)
