Loki found himself submerged under water. He turned and saw the figures of those dead floating there. He swam up to the surface and took a large gulp of air.

Above him, the sky was lit with flames. Loki gasped when the voice materialised in mid-air in front of him, grinning.

It (he) was grinning.

"Where is Sigyn?" Loki called over the sounds of screams and crackling fires.

It motioned around, grinning even more. "Why, here, Trickster! You have to look for her! But! If you save her, then you can't save anyone else. They stay here in Hellheim with your daughter! Hel! Ruler of the dead!"

Loki gasped again as another figure materialised in mid air.

A young girl of sorts in black, emo like clothing, hovered there. One side of her face was that of a pretty girl, the other: rotting, decaying flesh. This was Loki's only daughter- Hel- banished to Helheim by Odin because she was a "monster'.

"Where is Sigyn?" Loki called out again.

"Look around!" It answered again.

"Hel!" Loki called out for the third time. "Where is Sigyn?"

No answer,

Then.

"If you save the others, Father, then you can't save her," Hel answered back.

"Why?" Loki yelled.

"Why not?" It replied, grinning. "Ehehehehe."

That was Loki's signature laugh.

Loki clenched his fists. "Why can't I save both? Why can't I save them all?"

"This is where you chose your path, Trickster. Your friends? Or her?"

"Sigyn is my friend! My only friend!"

"You love her, Trickster…"

"No!"

"I know you do, because I am you, Trickster."

"I don't!"

"You do. Ehehehehe!"

"Where is she?"

"Look around you, Trickster! But remember, you can only save one."

Loki glared at himself, and then dove under water again.

Swimming down, Loki held his breath as he dove deep and deeper into the misty water. He saw a hand and grabbed it.

It was Richard.

"If you save the others, Father, then you can't save her."

"You have to look for her! But! If you save her, then you can't save anyone else. They stay here in Hellheim with your daughter! Hel! Ruler of the dead!"

If Loki saved Richard and the others, then he couldn't save Sigyn, or Thor. If he saved them both, then he couldn't save the others. Was that really such a hard decision?

Actually…

It was.

For some reason, it was….

Why?

"Forgive me, brother…" Loki whispered. "Forgive me, Sigyn."

He clasped his hand tightly around Richard's and pulled.

The body came free.
