Wishing you a very merry Christmas
Chapter One
Captain Lee Crane had too much on his mind with Christmas only a few days away. He was walking through the halls of the Nelson Institute when he stopped at the outer office of the Nelson Institute. He heard arguing from inside the office before walking inside. He was able to tell that it was Angie and Admiral Nelson. He wasn't able to understand what the argument was all about.
After a few moments he walked in with the outer office decorated with Christmas ornaments, lights and other elements to make it feel like Christmas. Angie was sitting at her computer terminal when she lifted her head to asked on just what he needed.
"Is everything alright Angie?" He had to asked with his curiosity getting the best out of him.
"Nope! Admiral Nelson is up in arms with the latest news. He's going to tell you when I advise him you're here." She picked up the phone connecting to his office. "Sir, Captain Crane is here to speak with you." She will listen to his orders over the phone. "I will tell him to go on inside." She hangs up the phone. "Admiral Nelson wants you inside ASAP. And he's not in the best of moods either."
"So it would seem Angie. I just hope he's going to make it up to you later after hearing your argument in the hallway." He headed for the door with opening into the jungle...
Admiral Nelson was rereading a file that ONI had sent on the terrorists that earlier for where Captain Crane had been abducted. "Lee please sit down I am afraid that all Liberty for Christmas will have to be cancelled due to this. Please read the top part of this file." As Lee moves up to grab the file to begin reading.
"I don't believe this Admiral Nelson. The Navy wants us to try and rescue a team of civilians off this particular island in the South Pacific? Why?" He will asked the Admiral.
"Not only us but we will be picking up the Marines a special Ops team to get onto the island along with our team to help get the possible 20 civilians. Mostly scientists working on Atomic research for a neutral country not involved with terrorists. However there are some that want them taken hostage for their knowledge."
"The marines will be arriving to the dock in 12 hours and we need every able personnel by that time before leaving with the coordinates given Lee. I will be coming along as with Doctor Jamieson for his final cruise before retiring. Doctor Anthony Sterling will be taking over as Chief Medical Officer once this cruise is over. Angie is already working on recalling the personnel along with the command crew."
"I will get to work on it along with contacting Rose Marie about our Christmas plans being cancelled. I know that the two boys will be highly disappointed."
"How is Rose Marie been feeling of late?" Nelson needed to ask about Lee's wife.
"Somewhat tired of late. She plans on seeing a doctor tomorrow to have her primary care physician to check her out on why this is happening in the first place. I will go call her first..."

San Francisco Marine Special Ops Command Center. 15 special Ops Marines were getting their gear ready to fly on a quick transport over to the Nelson Institute airfield for a special rescue mission. Colonel James Reeves had come into the barracks for where his team was getting ready. He wasn't liking the idea of doing this during the Christmas holiday. He was supposed to be heading to Oklahoma to be with his wife and daughter for a week. He had to call and tell him the bad news even though she was expecting it. Especially for when it comes to the holidays. Caroline age 34 had wished her husband all of the best as with his daughter Darla..
He stopped at each and every man asking on whether they were ready and they all agreed with the shake of their heads. "Alright then gentlemen let's get moving a submarine the seaview will be waiting for us with the cruise." He will have said and seeing the disappointing looks on their faces."Hey!I know it's Christmas and we can't do anything about it accept do our jobs."
One of his special Ops team asked on how many worked on the submarine Seaview. "Good question Sergeant Gomez. Normally the Seaview carries over 225 on board with the expanded version. However with the holidays many of them probably won't be able to make it in time with the recall. Does that answer your question Sergeant?" He needed his men to feel secured and safe with the mission and whether all of them make it back.
"It does sir." As he gathered his things with his equipment to be taken onto the local transport to take them to the Institute's air field.
Lee Crane's residence Beach house
Rosemarie Crane was out back into the back yard with the two boys studying. She had received a call from the Institute about the recall of personnel about an emergency cruise. However she didn't have the details until when her husband Lee comes home to gather his things. Even though she had already packed most of his clothing and including uniforms.
She wasn't all too pleased with the boys to be disappointed that their dad wasn't going to be around for the Christmas holiday. However they will be able to open their gifts when it's Christmas that are hiding in a closet. The real tree had already been decorated by everyone in the family. Along with a special smaller gift to be given to Lee when he's on board the Seaview.
However since she was going to the doctors tomorrow. Hopefully she will be able to plan a special radio message on the night of Christmas depending on where the Seaview will be.
Rosemarie had heard Lee's red sporty car parked into the front knowing that he was going to be leaving again. He walked into the back yard to be greeted by everyone with the two boys hugging their father.
She asked him in his ear. "I heard about the recall. But what happened Lee?" She needed to asked with the question.
"Rescue mission in the South Pacific on one of the islands for where civilians are being held. A Marine Special Ops team will be on board from San Francisco transporting over now. I need to pack what you didn't pack for me. I will speak with the boys when I get ready to leave." He said with kissing her on her moist lips before walking away into the house.
She walked over to William and James telling them that their father needs to leave and that he was going to speak with them before leaving.
