AN: I don't own My hero Academia or Servamp
A traitorous liar and a loyal killer
Damn it.
"Roar!"
Damn it.
The Servamp dodged another attack from the mindless beast.
Damn it!
Kurama rolled away with a blade in hand. Screams of terror all around him as the city was set ablaze. Darting around the enemies was the elder hero he grew fond of. Scattered about were pathetic civilian humans begging to be saved. The enemy three hideous monsters with exploded brains. They were like the one he faced at USJ but not nearly as powerful. They were smaller. Weaker. One was massive with muscles smashing at the ground. Another slenderer choose to scurry around on all fours screeching. The last had a pair of bat wings and flew close by. However, something was missing in the terrifying picture. A very green something.
"Just drop dead!"
How did I end up in the situation? Well, I didn't. These mindless zombies came to us. We were taking a lovely train ride to town for a little more action. Just me, the old man and my Eve. I should have known this was the action we would be getting today. What's even worst is that my Eve took off somewhere. Ordered me to stay with the old man and he'll be back as soon as he could. That was 15 minutes ago! Where the hell did he ran off to...wait. He was staring at his phone the whole ride. I think was talking to that Iida child. Not like he was getting a response. The nerve of the boy. Ignoring my Eve like that. I understand his brother was injured but that doesn't give him the right to... Last time we saw him there was a familiar flame in his eyes. The flame for revenge. Could my Eve have gone after him because he was foolish enough to...Damn it.
Anger boiled through his veins as the sudden revelation hit him. Using that pent-up anger, he slashes through one of the Nomus arms with ease. "We need to end this quickly old man. I have a bad feeling I know what my Eve is up to. If I'm correct I must return to him immediately."
"Then keep slicing!" Gran Torino yelled back as he kicked one Nomu away from a running civilian while simultaneously blasting himself to another Nomu. "These guys just won't stay down."
The Servamp fought through the barrage of attacks with the smaller elderly hero at his side. It should have been easy to deal with these mindless beasts, but that regeneration quirk was a nuisance. Each time he cut a limb off they simply grew back. Like the last one they didn' appear to have a concept of pain. Worst of all without his Eve by his side and the thoughts of him in possible danger threw off his fighting senses. He had to know his Eve was ok. He'd go insane otherwise. "Damn it!"
As the Servamp cursed with a flash a pillar of fire shot onto the chaotic scene. The hero and Servamp gave a brief pause as a wave of intense fire burned the air dry. A blazing figure of red dashed between the two with fire in his step. Flames engulfed their massive arm as the figure bashed through of one of the Nomu's jaws with burning furry. The other Nomu flinched back in caution as they watch on of their own burn. The Nomu managed to escape with half of their face burning. Standing before them with intense turquoise eyes was the number 2 hero: Endeavour. He turned to check on what he thought were two heroes attempting to subdue the beasts. He was shocked to find an elder hero and a very unwanted familiar face. "YOU!" he yelled at the Servamp. His flaming mask and facial features exploded in a blaze along with his undying rage.
Calmly, the Servamp greeted the hero with a cold smile. "Hello to you too. How's the face. I didn't break anything did I?"
Endeavour snarled at the sly remark while instinctively holding one of his cheeks. The memory of the once stinging pain felt fresh once his eyes met the Servamp. "What the hell are you doing here? Don't you belong to the reckless child that took a luckily win against my Shoto? That will not happen a second time."
Kurama bit back his tongue with a strained smile. "Luck you say? We'll see about that next time when I will be at his side." In disgust, he turned away from the flaming hero. His prideful fire brought a trace of bitterness to his mouth. How this man become number 2 was beyond him. "And for the record, I'm only here on my Eve's orders. He couldn't leave the old man alone..." A thought came to him. He glace between the two heroes before him. Then he heard reinforcements yelling at a distance. Smirking, he called off his blades and bowed. "Well, I suppose he's not alone anymore. I wish you both luck. I shall head off."
"Where are you off to." Gran Torino yelled as he hopped between the attacking Nomus.
Already some distance away, the Servamp turned his head over his shoulders. "I must find my Eve. Nothing else matters. But don't die on me old man I much enjoy your company. As for you, number 2." He paused and soon shrugged. "I care very little for you. Get eaten for all I care. Fare thee well." With that, the Servamp disappeared into the shadows leaving being a flustered Gran Torino and a flaming Endeavor. He didn't pay mind to any possible repercussions. All he cared about was his Eve.
Meanwhile, in a darkened alley.
Slash!
Clang!
Slash!
"Who do you belong too?"
Slash!
Clang!
Bang!
"Envy? Gluttony? Wrath?"
Clang!
Bash!
Slash!
"WHO!"
The young Eve was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He currently had all his energy focused on his shield lead. It was being attacked relentlessly with a flurry of slashes. Still, he had to keep it up. He took a glace as the three behind him. One was an unfamiliar fellow he only knew by name. A lesser hero around the area named Native. He was a young hero with native American costume and was currently paralysed. Barely able to move an inch like the other two under his protection. One of his closest friends, Iida, was bleeding between his armoured plates. Out of the group he was the most gravely injured. His armour helmet missing and his face flat on the cold gravel. All he could down was bite down on his lips. One of the few places his nerves could still feel. Finally, there the newest additions to his friend group that answered his call for help. The young ice and hot user, Todoroki was slumped next to the native hero. Three knives pierced on his left arm. The small dagger wounds bled out. Not as much as the one open wound where a dagger appeared to be missing.
Izuku frighten eyes the darted back at the monster before them. A wild humanoid beast with lizard-like tongue slashing away at his lead shield with vigor. Pure hatred burned in his eyes. This was the hero killer stain on a rampage. He wasn't always liked this. The villain's rage was mainly on Iida. Izuku rushed on to the scene at the right time, kicking the villain away from his friend. Beforehand he sent a message of his locations. The call was answered by Todoroki who came rushing in with fire. To say he was proud of his friend using his hated fireside was an understatement. Using both his fire and ice Todoroki was able to keep the villain at a distance. Between his endless waves of ice and fire and Stain's contest attacks, Izuku thought it would be a good time to use his lead quirk merge combo. It was a risky move when he hasn't gotten a good handle on it. But with Todoroki there with him he thought he could manage somehow. The second he revealed his leads the hero killer stilled. His eyes glowed red with fury as he charged relentlessly. Completely disregarding the others around them. All that mattered to him was destroying this boy who he previously said he was worthy. Whatever that meant. In his attempts to help Todoroki got hit with the villain quirk paralysis. Rushed, Izuku just managed to drag everyone behind him as the hero killer solely focus on himself. Now he found himself with nowhere to run. If he moves his friends would be vulnerable so he only option was to tank every slash made by the hero killer.
The slashing never slowed as they continued. No and on. The villain continued to spat out things none of the group could understand. His eyes glowed ever brighter beyond Izuku's shield as it was slowly becoming transparent. It wasn't a good sign. The boy began to pant rapidly. Barely capable to keep his eyes open. He needed to persist. He couldn't let his friends get hurt more by this mad man. So, he focused all his strength to keep his shield up. He kept his eyes on the enemy's movements to stimulate his brain from going completely numb. The red eyes darted about in a frenzy... Red eyes.
Past fear shocked through the boy's mind.
No...
Hidden in a cramped space the child held his All Might plushie for protection. He tried his best not to cry. A door suddenly creaked open as he spotted an unknown figure through the cracks of the blinds. Their heavy footsteps echoed in the eerie silence.
No, don't think about that. Focus. Izuku told himself. As he bared his teeth. He felt himself weakening as the memory continued.
The dark figure stopped and eerily turned its head. Bright blood-red eyes stared back at the child. He attempted to hide his scream.
"Is someone there?" called a haunting voice.
Stop it. Don't get any closer. Gradually losing focus, Izuku's shield thinned.
The figure step closer and closer. Their arm reached out to the child's hiding spot.
"STOP!" Izuku shirked in terror. Losing all his focus his shield shattered.
Those behind him reacted in screams of panic. Todoroki tried to move his paralyzed body and so did Iida. They couldn't do anything in that split second as the hero killer slashed down a killer blow to their friend. "Midoriya!"
The last thing Izuku heard from the memory was loud: "Hey!"
"Hey!"
The boy snapped out of the old memory. His eyes darted about till they focused on the face in front of him. It was a familiar face he only saw once. "Mr Watanuki?"
The green-haired mover he met only yesterday was smiling back at him with smiling eyes. "Hey there kiddo," he said cheerily while roughing up his hair. "You look pretty tired. Don't you think it's way past your bedtime?" Before Izuku could even muster up a response, the man forcefully grabbed his wrist and dragged him into his chest. He then turned the confused boy to face the entryway of the alley. "Come on. Let's get you out of here," he said calmly as he pushed the boy's back.
The boy tried to turn but he couldn't. The hands-on his shoulders were clapped far too hard. He could do nothing as he was guided out. Izuku looked up at the man who was still smiling. Then the confusion daze was strip away as he remembered his friends and the hero killer. "Wait, no. You must leave. The hero killer is back there! My friends! They're in danger. Please let me go and run."
Sakuya's pace noticeably quickened but the calmness of his tone never left. "Don't worry. I know someone is coming by soon to help. Your friends will be fine. Right now, you are priority. So, don't be a brat and let's get out of here."
Before they could take another step the sudden rush of kill intent flared behind them. Screams called out in alarm. Sakuya smiling eyes sharpened with a chill. He quickly threw the child in his arms down and swirled his body around. Izuku screamed at the sudden act as his body hit hard gravel. Quickly, he turned around and saw the hero killer with raving rage painted his face. Then there was Sakuya clam and collectedly glared back at the villain. The villain had attempted to slice the man down, but he managed to catch the blade mid-strike in one hand. The bade in his fingers snapped in two. Not a single drop of blood was shed. "Come on, Elegan. How's about you drop what you're doing and let the kid go. For old times sakes," he said all too calm.
Rage still burning in his eyes, Stain looked at his broken blade. Aggressively, he tossed the broken blade and pointed his spare one at Sakuya. "Don't give me that traitor. Why should I listen to you after you ran and became one of C3's lap dogs? You don't get to order me around anymore."
Uncaringly, he shrugged. "Fair enough. But you forgot one thing, old friend." In a blink, Sakuya dashed toward till his nose graze's Satin's non-exiting one. Smiling, he placed one hand on the surprised villain's shoulder. "I'm much stronger than you." Mercilessly, he laced his hands on the hero killer's head and forced him to bend down while he keen-kicked him in the stomach. Stain coughed out some blood while dropping his other blade. Taking the prime opportunity, Sakuya grabbed the back of the villain's shirt and flung him upwards beyond the roofs of the buildings. He turned around to see a very shocked Izuku. Mouth wide open. Still smiling, the surprisingly strong man crouched down. Using a hooked finger, he gently re-shut his mouth. "You're going to catch files if you keep your mouth open like that kiddo. Now you go play will your friend. Sakuya here will deal with the big bully so don't worry a bit it." He gave the boy a playful head pat before glaring up at the rooftops. He knew he would come back. That villain has always been a persistent type. He sighed, "The things I do for Mahiru." With that said he effortlessly wall jumped up disappearing over the tops.
Izuku watched in awe as the mover disappeared from his vision. Then he remembered his friends. "GUYS!" he rushed over to his friends who were still in shock in what they just witnessed. The feelings in their bodies were coming back to them luckily. The lesser hero that was with them helped to tend their wounds. It was a task to bandaged up Todoroki with knives stuck in his arm. Then there's Izuku slight sprained ankle but he could still manage. Lastly, there was Iida whose arms were still not working right.
"What were you thinking! Going after the hero killer." Todoroki scolded while he had his bleeding arm patched up by native. He had to make some makeshift badges from his uniform, but they would suffice until they get to a real doctor to patch it.
"You didn't have to come. You shouldn't have come." Iida yelled back as Izuku tried to take off his armour piece. He wanted to get a closer look at his friend's arms. It wasn't a good sign that Iida still couldn't move it despite the reset of his body seemed to be operational. "This was my fight. You shouldn't have gotten involved."
Rolling his dual coloured eyes, Todoroki spat back, "Iida you are insane. You could have gotten yourself killed."
"I had to do something for my brother. That villain had to pay for what he did!"
Izuku stopped his inspection. Of course, he was taking ravage for his brother. He guessed at the start. Still, he hated seeing him like this. In such a rage. So much hatred in his eyes. He knew it was wrong for a hero to seek out revenge. They should be pure. Righteous. But deep down in the dark corner in his soft heart, he understood. The wanting to do something to someone that wronged you. Someone that took something precious to you. That ugly feeling. He knew it well. He had been eating away at him quietly for years. At times he forgets it but when he remembers… the child gulped the dryness building in his throat. "Iida, I know you're angry. You want to get back at the hero killer for what he did to your brother. Trust me I understand."
Hearing his name being addressed Iida turned to his friend. He was taken back by the solemn coldness in his eyes. He'd never seen a look like that on him before.
"But you have to remember we're just kids. We barely survived out there. You're not strong enough yet. You don't even have to get revenge because…" Izuku tightened his grip on Iida's hand. He tried his best to force back the tears as well as the memories that came with them. "Your bother is still alive. He would have been devastated if anything happened to you. So please fight on for his sake and yours. Become the hero he and you want to be. Please stop."
Iida paused and bit his lip. He wanted to take ravage so badly for his brother he lost sight of what he was. What he wanted to be. A hero. So blind-sighted he rushed in and lost almost everything. Almost raised the hero killer kill count. Even more, if things went south. If it wasn't for Izuku coming after him and for Todoroki coming in to assist, he could have died today. His family almost already lost one son. They didn't need to lose another. "I'm sorry. I am so sorry." He cried. "I couldn't just sit there and do nothing knowing that the monster was still out there. I know it was stupid of me to go after him alone. I could have gotten you all killed. I'm sorry." Then the boy felt his head entre a kind warm. He found his tears staining the green hero uniform of his friend.
"It's ok Iida. You're alive. That's all that matters now," Izuku whispered to him. Iida could only manage a small nod in response.
Todoroki eyed his two friends. Huh, it was strange to use that word, but he guessed they were his friends "So, what do we do now?" They turned to Todoroki, arm now bandaged with a ripped cloth and the other hero at his side. He glanced up to the rooftops. "I have a feeling that green-haired guy has it handled but we should get other heroes just in case."
"Was he some sort of hero?" Native questioned in awe.
Izuku wasn't sure about that. "I swear Mr Watanuki is a civilian."
"Midoriya, there is no way a normal civilian could do the things he did. Also, you know him?"
He gave his friend a nod and explained he met him the day before moving boxes. He even had a partner.
"Sakuya!" The group turned to the saddened call and spotted Sakuya lanky partner Lilac. He was clearly out of shape. Close to collapsing and panting heavily. He seemed to have been running around trying to find his partner for a while. Their unsteady eye peered into the ally until they landed on Izuku. The second he saw the boy he rushed up to him and dropped to his knees. "oh, thank goodness you're ok. If anything, were to happen to you Master Tsubaki would be so mad," he squeaked. They then inspected the boy more. Double-checking that he was unharmed. "You are ok, right? Elegan didn't hurt you, did he?"
The group looked at each other, "who's Elegan?"
But that question fell on deaf ears as Izuku asked: "You know Kurama?" Tsubaki was his Servamp's old name. This young man knew it somehow. The more he thought about it they did act rather strange when they met yesterday. Particularly, when Kurama made his appearance. The sudden tension that came with them made him think. Did they know each other?
Lilac nodded in confirmation very wary at the outside eyes nearby. "Yes. I'm one of Master Tsubaki's subclass. Or I guess I should call him master Kurama since you changed his name, my Eve. I do apologies for the trouble my pervious companions may have given you. I hope you could forgive them," he answered skittishly as he bowed his head so low, he touched the ground. He was still on his knees shivering slightly as his forehead met concrete.
Izuku stared at the sight before him not entirely sure what to make of it. He did have one question edged in his brain. "What's a subclass?"
Viability, Lilac froze. His head darted up and he stared at Izuku with hurt in his eyes. "He…he didn't tell you about us?"
Seeing those eyes of pain, he left a dagger of guilt poke at his heart. He turned his head away. The sight of Lilac looking like a sweet puppy that was abandoned by their owner was too much to bear. "No, he hasn't." He looked up to where the other two disappeared. Were they also these subclasses? "He hasn't told me a lot of things now that I think about it." His attention then turned back to the young man who meekly held himself. Trying his best to keep his tears at bay. "Lilac, can you tell me more about these subclasses, please."
He jolted up as his name was called. Nodding fanatically, he complied, "of course, my Eve. A subclass is a creation of a Servamp. Each Servamp has its own set of subclasses. We are made to serve our Servamp as a Servamp is made to serve their Eve. Both I and Sakuya are subclasses of melancholy and so is Mr Elegan. Course, there are other things to note, but I don't think I can say them when…" his eyes darted to the outsiders who were politely sanding back. Curiosity fuelled their eyes. Although anger fuelled one of them.
Iida stomped out of the trio baring his teeth and sharpening his eyes. "That monster is a part of your group," he yelled terrifying the poor subclass. They immediately bowed repeatedly apologised for whatever it was his old companions did to him. "Apologies won't do anything. He should be jailed for the things he did."
Lilac bowed at a quickened pace. Too afraid to open his eyes. "I know I know. Some C3 members are after him now from what I heard. So, he'll be taken care of soon. Please don't be mad. It's just the heads asked us to keep an eye on our Eve since we encountered him. They were worried if anything was going to happen and I guess something happened. I'm sorry."
Ignoring the conversation happening in front of him, Izuku looked up again to where the other two disappeared to. A risky idea came to mind. "If you serve a Servamp and a Servamp serves an Eve does that mean a subclass will follow an Eve's orders." Meekly the subclass nodded. Although he couldn't really confirm it the logic does make sense. "Does that mean I can stop the hero killer from hurting anyone else."
That was a question Lilac didn't expect. He thought about it for a while. It was a solid theory, but every subclass was like a human. Induvial. Most of them of the melancholy gang were loyal to one person: Tsubaki. They would only listen to him. Then again this is the first time Tsubaki ever had an Eve that they could follow. There's also the fact that Elegan was a loyalist as far as Lilac remembered. "So long as Tsubaki…oh, excuse me, Kurama doesn't say anything against it. He should listen to you. At least that what I think."
"Ok." With a slam of his wrist he cracked his hands. "Then I'm going after them." His friends were quick to reject. Telling him that they should go find the police or other heroes. They've done enough for the night and nearly died. It was better to retreat but after seeing a glimmer of hope he couldn't listen to them. He could stop the killings now. No one else needed to get hurt tonight and beyond. All he had to do was command the hero killer to stop and turned himself in. It sounded crazy in his head and it most likely was. But if there was some smidge of a probability that he could save people from the hero killer's wrath. Then it was a risk he's willing to take. No one else had to lose something precious. The question is how he was going to tack them now. They already have a head start since they were busy tending to each other's wounds.
That's when Lilac offered himself. "I can use my quirk to help you find them if you want. It's called a tracker. I've been using it to keep track of all of you so far but I'm not fast enough to keep up."
Lilac
Quirk: Tracker – could locate and track a person that the user knows. However, they must remain in the distant limit of 50km. Pass that and they'll lose them.
It was the perfect quirk for what he needed. "That would be a great help, Lilac," Izuku praised caused the subclass to blush. He turned his back and crouched down. Seeing the signal, Lilac hurried nestled on the Eve's back hooking his stick-like arms around his neck. "Hold on tight." One for all's electrical energy crackled through his body. The others tired to stop them but they were hopping from wall to wall reaching the rooftop in seconds.
"Midoriya!" Todoroki yelled.
Iida also stood in attention. "We have to go after him. He could get hurt."
Both boys were ready to chase after them. Todoroki wanted to create an ice ramp to run on while Iida was ready to follow him. The dual quirk user would have succeeded if it wasn't for someone else interference. A cold chill rushed arose the alley icing the walls with frost. Floating ice crystals wrapped themselves around the boy's arm until the suddenly solidified into an ice chain. "What?" His arm was forced down as more ice chains coiled around him. Then he noticed he wasn't the only one trapped. The other two that were with him were also constrained by chains of ice. Even their feet found themselves cup to the ground. Angrily, his eyes followed the rattling chains. That anger soon fizzled out when he saw who they belonged to. "What are you doing here?"
Beyond the alley was a person he knew well. They were wearing unfamiliar clothing. Pure white slacks with a black line at the sides and a baggie white hoodie with similar black rims. They had their hands in their pockets as they walk down the alley. Their high black boots echoed with every step. They looked down at the confused child with cold yet apologetic blue eyes. "I'm sorry."
A sudden blunt object hit the back of the boy's head. Darkness engulfed their vision.
"You've seen too much."
Meanwhile, both Stain and Sakuya were enrolled in a grip match form rooftop to rooftop. Every so often Stain would shoot a dagger at his opponent who easily dodged each shot. Even his kicks did nothing. Sakuya was fast and strong enough to doge them. Bored, he continued his rooftop battle with the hero killer. They were visibly livid. The frustration of not getting a single hit caused on his opponent made him more flustered with his hit. Again, and again they missed the green-haired subclass. Another leap to another rooftop Sakuya stared down at his frantic opponent. The rage in their eyes never wavered as their endless hatred fuelled it. It hurt in a way.
Sakuya remembered him well. Before he took up the name Hero Killer Stain, he was a subclass of melancholy much like himself. The name he was given was Elegan. A very loyal individual who could only be outmatched by their master' s original head team. An elite group of subclasses far superior to most. For whatever reason, they become the strongest of their group with abilities acknowledged by the master himself. Handpicked by him; these elite group stood at their master's side with pride. Although one of them was an odd one. The one was known as the Lair. Sakuya himself. As much as he appreciated everything the master had done for him, he made a friend. He was a human of all things named Mahiru Shirota and he was ridiculously righteous. He would always take on the hard work if no one else would. He adored him. That adoration grew to the point he wanted to stay with him even after they become an enemy of their master. He wanted to be his friend. His wish came true the day their master left with an ominous message:
"Forget about me and live freely."
Of course, they were hurt. It was like behind abandoned a second time. Most believed that one day their master would come back and so they waited. Some happily took the chance their master gave them. Since they were different from other subclasses the melancholy subclasses could live a normal life. That's what Sakuya wanted but not everyone wanted that. Elegan was one of them. He wanted to destroy the other Servamp's and Eves for what they did to the master. He and many others believed that they were the reason their master left them so suddenly. Most of the master's elites were captured and were currently being kept under watchful eyes. The only one that was free was the Lair. Sakuya remembered the day Elegan came to him along with a group of minor subclasses. They begged him to help them avenge the master, but he refused. After all his best friend was one of the Eves they desperately wanted to destroy.
Enraged the group fought again the Lair. Traitor, they cried out with every attack. Sakuya easily won the battle. Respecting the bond, they once had, the Lair allowed them to live. He walked away from them. Not wanting to join any groups that could ruin his newfound freedom. Or harm his friends. Soon after that, he joined with Lilac. A weaker subclass member who wanted to try out this freedom he was given. The two become somewhat of a duo. Rooming together, taking simple jobs together, even tried the high school experience for a while. It was peaceful and they were content until their master appeared again. It was so sudden. The feeling he felt was fear. He thought he would be forced to become the Lair again. Then he would have to fight against his new friends again. He didn't want that. He didn't want that. Even worst their master had found an Eve to call his own. Was that why they left them? To find an Eve so he would be strong enough to fight against the other Servamps with their Eves. It was terrifying. Yet their master did nothing. They weren't even acknowledged. Surprisingly, it hurt. The way they walked away without ever saying hello. He should have been relieved, but he couldn't stop the tears of betrayal as his Servamp walked away from him. Not saying a single word. They were truly abandoned.
He called his friend Mahiru and he was told the whole story. It was hard to comprehend that his master fell so hard for a human. Especially, one that sounded so kind and heroic. The boy was almost the opposite of the monster he knew. He saw it in their encounter. The boy was pure, unlike his master and subclasses. Mahiru asked if he could keep an eye on the boy. He gave a hesitant yes. So, he tailed the child along with Lilac. They kept their distance so they wouldn't be notice. The plans changed the moment their Eve separated himself from the master and got himself into a fight with Elegan. For whatever reason, their Eve triggered rage in the subclass. Sakuya had no choice but to interfere.
Now he's forced to fight his fellow subclass. He wanted to refrain from killing him as much as possible. Just to put those days behind him.
The duo soon crashed into a build from their scuffle. They darted through the un-glassed windows. Sakuya found himself standing on top of a white van. He looked down on at stain who landed on an empty spot. The villain panted heavily while wiping the blood dripping from his lips. Still, his eyes burn with undying will power. Sighing Sakuya shook his head. "Oh, come on. You can't be that stupid. I'm stronger than you. Always have been. I wasn't put on Tsubaki's elite force for nothing you know. You can't beat me so just go home or something." He used one hand to gesture a shooing motion to the hero killer. It's been a long day and he wanted to go home.
"Damn you, traitor," Stain hissed. "You're protecting another one, aren't you? Just like you protected that sloth Eve. Who does that child belong too!" he demanded as he pointed a dagger at the Lair. "I hate to take out a true hero in the works but if he's master Tsubaki's enemy I will deal with him."
Rapidly, Sakuya blinked and scratched his head. "Oh yeah, you don't know yet. Guess that explains why you suddenly become hostile towards the kid."
Stain squinted dagger eyes at the Lair. "What do you mean?"
Just then an electric green figure dashed between the two. The figure lost their footing and crashed backside into a pillar nearby. The pillar was fine with only a chip missing. The figures back were possibly another story. Luckily, he managed to swivel the person on his back in front of him before he collided with the hard concrete. The poor guy could have broken a bone considering how frail they were. Better his bones than anyone else.
"Are you ok!" Lilac yelled as he found himself awkwardly cradled in Izuku's arms.
Izuku laughed assuring he was fine. A small trail of blood ran down the side of his head.
"Are you bleeding!"
"Well would you look at that. Good timing kid," Sakuya said nonchalantly as he strolled over to the young Eve. "You're just in time to help me sort this little scuffle." While walking he pricked an index finger on a fang. He allowed a drop of blood flow to the surface of his skin. The other subclasses watched warily. They both knew what he was doing. The question was why? Izuku watched curiously as the Lair came at arm's reach to him. Pausing, he stood over the boy. Blankly staring with those red eyes. Izuku tensed. That old memory resurfacing for a second. It didn't matter for the subclass as he crouched down to the boy's eye level. He then pressed his bleeding finger on the boy's forehead. "Liar, liar."
The tenseness running through Izuku's body only grew. It felt like Stain's paralysis quirk but worst. With Stain, his body became limp and unable to move. With this, he was a statue. It was like there were chains wrapped around him. Positioning him in place. Or concrete flowing through his veins. The only part that could move was his mouth. "What did you do?"
"I just used my quirk. No big deal. I'll ask you a question and once you answer it truthfully, you're free to go. Lie and suffer the consequences." Playfully the subclass smiled like he was playing a fun game.
Sakuya
Quirk: Lair Lair - but placing a drop of blood on the victim's skin the victim is completely paralysed until they answer the user's question. If they tell the truth the victim is set free. If they tell a lie the blood will explode with flames burning the area.
Sakuya slowly stood up. His eyes never leaving Izuku. "Now answer this question: which Servamp do you belong to?"
Izuku's eyes widen. "Which Servamp I belong to?" he parroted. His eyes then shifted to the hero killer nearby. He was watching the scene cautiously with intrigue in his eyes. It was a simple task to piece together what the subclass was planning. "I just need to tell the truth, right?" Sakuya nodded once to confirm. The was a pause as the boy took a deep breath. Anything to lower his frighten heartbeat. "I belong to he who is coming. They Servamp of melancholy. Kurama Tsubaki. Does that answer your question?" As he said that the blood on his forehead turned black and flaked away. The feeling of his body soon returned. He uncoiled his arms around Lilac who was still on his lap.
Happily smiling, the Lair gave the young Eve a cartoony thumbs up. "Yup, that should do it. Good work." He then threw a sly look at the baffled hero killer whose mouth dropped wide. "Elegan, I like you to meet our new Eve. Izuku Midoriya. Then again, I guess we can't call him our new Eve since Tsubaki never had an Eve before. So, I guess we should call you our first Eve."
Satin dropped his arms limp. The undying anger he had before faded. Weakly, he stomped over to the child. There was a weight on each of his legs as he dragged himself over. Izuku did nothing as the hero killer sauntered towards him. It should be fine right? He wouldn't hurt him now. Or at least he hoped he won't. With a disbelieving expression, he asked: "The master choose you?"
Gulping back the heart in his throat, Izuku nodded.
As soon as he did, the hero killer dropped to his knees in shame. "I greatly apologies for my aggression towards you my Eve." He cried in a hurry. "If I had known sooner that you were the master's Eve, I wouldn't have acted the way I did. I thought you were an enemy of the master and allowed my rage to get the better of me. No number of apologies could forgive the crime I have committed against you. I will happily take whatever punishment you'll give me."
Taken back, Izuku jumped and punched his back on the cracked pillar behind him. He stared down at the bowing villain. What a change of character. The second his identity was revealed he became a loyal knight begging forgiveness from his prince. The opposite of the monster that tried to kill him and his friends. A punishment he asked. There was only one he could think of: "You will turn yourself into the authorises and be charged by the crimes you committed. Afterwards, you will never kill another person again. That sounds like a fair punishment. Right?"
Stain looked up at his Eve, still on his knees. Reluctantly, he bowed his head accepting the fate his Eve as given him.
A loud clap of hands broke through the tension. The turned to the Lair dusking his hands away. "Well, now that's settled. I'm going to bed," he said frankly. He swivelled on the ball of his shoes and began marching at one direction. The others pursued while his Eve called him back saying there's more, he wanted. Sakuya just waved off the calls. He made be his Eve, but he had no intention of following him. A subclass is duty-bound to their Servamp, not Eve, and he was told by his Servamp to do whatever they wanted. What he wanted was to get to bed. This day as gone on too long. Then something tugged on his sleeve.
Regrettably, he turned around to meet with Izuku widen begging eyes. Their innocence peered into his dark soul. "Please, Mr Watanuki. I really want to know more about you and Kurama hasn't told me anything. I don't think he will. So, if it's not too much trouble. Please."
Sakuya grumpily pouted at the child but his pout was nothing compare to his Eve's innocent puppy eyes. Defeated he dropped crossed-legged on to the concrete and patted to a spot next to him. Izuku was quick to follow and sat at the stop. Meekly, Lilac also followed and sat on his keens close by. Stain, on the other hand, confidently sat closer but not close enough to make his Eve uncomfortable. After the night he gave the child he had a feeling he should give him space. Lazily, Sakuya laid back in his seated position while using his two arms to support him. His tried eyes met the eager Eve's. "Alright kiddo. First, just call me Sakuya. Now, what do you want to know?"
The Eve jittered thinking of what to ask first. He had so many questions. "Well, I'd like to know how you three know, Kurama. Oh, and that's the name I gave him if you didn't know."
"Yeah, I know. But before we get into that wild trip through memory lane. I want to ask how much you already know."
Izuku sadly silted his eyes downward. "After tonight I'm being to realised not enough. I didn't even know what a subclass was until Lilac told me."
Eyes wide, Sakuya gawked at the child, "seriously? He hasn't even told you about us. Well, that hurts. And here I thought he cared. Even a smidge." His tone was light but Izuku could tell in his eyes that he was truly hurt. They looked like Lilac when he told him he didn't know what a subclass was. They must have been really close to his Servamp. He wondered what could have happened between them. "Well, I guess I should start with how we're made. If a Servamp gives a dying human a bit of their blood they are reborn again as a subclass. We're pretty much vampire-like creatures like the Servamps. Drink blood, unnatural human abilities and whatnot." That was a jaw-dropping moment for Izuku. Did that mean his Servamp saved them for certain death? That would explain their loyalty at the very least. "We melancholy subclasses are a little different from the others. Sunlight doesn't really affect us, and we don't lust for blood as much. So, we can pretty much blend into human society and no one would be the wiser."
"What do you mean by others?"
There was a blunt pause. This was a delicate subject they were going into. If he makes the wrong move Tsubaki would be sure to make him pay. If he hasn't told this kid about them there's no way, he'd speak of them. "Well… each Servamp has its own set of Subclasses. Do you know there are other Servamps?"
Izuku nodded. "Yes, Kurama did say he had siblings that were also Servamps but he hasn't told me anything about them. He does seem to be on sour terms with them. I think." He remembered the times he would attempt to ask more about the fox's family. If he didn't dodge the question, he would be glare at him. The hate in his eyes warning him not as dig deep into his family life. Respectively, he did just that. "I think I met one of them…"
"They didn't hurt you did they," Stain growled protectively. He looked like he was ready to kill anyone if he gave the order.
Lilac was quick to follow up, "yeah not all the Servamps as nice. Especially the greed pair. Those two are monsters," the spitefulness of his voice sounded unnatural with how meek he was.
The hatred in their eyes and the venom in their tone. Kurama wasn't the only one that hated his siblings. But why? What did they do to warrant such hate? Izuku tried to explain that they didn't do anything wrong. he wanted to ask more about them but Sakuya was quick to interject. "So how about story time." He grabbed on to Izuku shoulders with a forceful hand. The Eve was forced to look at the subclass. He had a forced smile on with crazed eyes telling him not to dig further into the subject. "We should answer that first question of before we completely derail this conversation. Lilac, you can go first."
The meek subclass jumped at his name. "There's not much too let."
He told his story a simple one about being raised in the slumps. It was a gruelling life of constant starvation. At the time he had no family to call his own. he didn't even have a name. He was a walking corpse trying to survive. One day the starvation got to him. He collapsed in the endless praise of garbage. The sun beaning down cooking his sensitive skin. Without the strength to do anything, he laid there for hours. No one came. No one helped. The darkness was growing more as his mind faded numb. Then soothing hit his dry tongue. It tasted like some iron nails he once tried to chew on. The strength of his body gradually returned as he felt himself flying. Slowly, he opened his weak eyes and spotted the face of his soon to be master.
Tsubaki smiled at the meek child warmly. "You're hungry, aren't you? Don't worry I'll get you something to eat."
With fondness in his eyes, he thought back to the happy memory. "After that, master Tsubaki brought me to a quiet little restaurant and told me to order anything I'd like. I've never been so happy. I eat and eat and eat until my tummy was fully for the first time in my life. Everything tasted so good. I remember commenting how pretty these framed flowers. He told me they were called lilacs and that became by subclass name."
"Subclass name?" their Eve questioned curiously.
It was Stain's turn to jump into the conversation. "We all had human names before we become subclasses. For example, I was once known as Chizome Akaguro. When we are reborn as subclasses, we are given new names."
Izuku followed along with a nod. Although it was more than a little awkward to be casually talking with a man that tried to kill him not too long ago. Still, he didn't feel as on edge as he did before. It was most likely due to the subclass calmer demeanour. Just to be on the safe side, the Eve made extra sure to be close to Sakuya and readied an action to summon back his shield.
It was easy for Stain to notice but he took no offence to it. He concerned it as further punishment for harming his master's precious Eve. He then thought back to the day he met his master. The salty taste of betrayal in his mouth. The memory used his kill intend to spike for a second making his Eve flinch. Even so, he calmly told his story.
Many years ago, when he was still human, he took on the vigilante alias of Stendhal. He'd always admired the work of heroes but never liked the praise. The advertisements. The showman ships. These weren't true heroes. True heroes would save regardless of the fans and money. They were materialistic and pointless. That's why he admired All Might. A hero was willing to save everyone and anyone no matter the cost. That's why he chose vigilante. He didn't need to be paid or get any praise. All he wanted was to save a protect. At times he worked with heroes if they were willing to let him assist them. There were times he worked alongside another vigilante. One he remembered fondly wore an All Might hoodie as a costume. Respect to him. However, he tended to work alone. No one to stop him or slow him down. This was not one of those times.
Chizome laid flat legs trapped and bleeding out. There was an earthquake in the area, and he rushed in to help evacuate. There were many heroes on the scene which made him try even harder to save as many as he could. A building wobbled left and right. A woman screamed saying she couldn't find her daughter. Screaming that she was still in the building. Without even thinking, Chizome ran into the building as it collapsed on itself. Eventually, he did find the girl. While everything around them crumbled. Using his own body as a shield he kept the girl close to his chest preventing any rubble from harming her. Then he was smacked right in the face with falling rubble. The metal mask he wore made the hit worse. It completely broke his nose, crushing it, but that didn't stop him. He persisted on even with the pain and blood running down his face. The girl fainted on sight but that was ok. All he had to do was get out of there before...
Crash!
The building collapses around them. By the time he regained consciousness, he made sure if the girl was still ok. Luckily, she was unharmed, but he was another story. A pipe somehow made it into his chest and his entire lower half was crushed in place. He screamed out for help again and again. Time passed by and help did arrive. A small-time hero came shoveling a path to freedom. They the trapped vigilante holding the unconscious girl. He pushed the girl forwards and told them to get her out of there then send help for him.
The unbelievable happened.
The hero laughed as they took the girl. They said that they knew the vigilante. He was nothing but trouble so if he were to leave him there was no skin off his back. So, they turned around with the girl in hand, living the vigilante to die.
Enraged, he caused at the hero. Yelling and screaming this is not how a hero should act. It made them laugh harder. The last thing he said was that he was not someone worth saving. It didn't matter if he died.
And so, Chizome was left all alone. In agonising pain and close to death. Blood gushing pouring out of him his vision blurred. But his hate was set ablaze. How dare they call themselves a hero. How dare they continue to live with the title of hero. They didn't deserve to be saved. With those vile thoughts swirling in his mind his world become back and clod.
"My, you sure are a sad sight. I don't think we can do anything about that nose of yours, but I do know someone that can help fix those legs."
He opened his eyes weakly to meet the crimson red eyes of Tsubaki.
He was smiling, "don't worry I won't let you die. In fact, I wish to give you a second life. That is if you'll take it."
Chizome accepted without hesitation. Reborn anew with the subclass name Elegan
"After that, I killed that worthless hero that left me to die. Once that unfinished business was done, I followed him without question. Whatever he wanted. Needed. I will provide to the best of my abilities," Stain ended his story with a prideful stern look.
In a panic, Izuku scowled the subclass. He didn't deny what that hero did was wrong. By every right, they had no place calling themselves heroes. Not after they left a man to die while he attempted to save a little girl. He can understand where the hero killer was coming from with a backstory like that. But that doesn't give him the right to take another person's life. "Killing is wrong and doesn't solve anything. As someone that admirers' heroes you should know that's a line, you shouldn't cross. It's inhuman and unheroic."
Coldly, the hero killer looked back at his Eve. "I'm not a hero," he stated firmly.
Izuku bit his lip afraid that he might have crossed an invisible line. "That maybe be true but it's until wrong. At the very least he should have had his license revoked. Once that's gone, they could have thought about how to change for the better."
That was a laugh. The calming atmosphere form before nosed dived into intense gloom. All that gloom radiated from one person. Sakuya relaxed seated position changed as he huddled his legs in a cradle. A pained smile on his lips and dazed sadness in his eyes. "Change huh? And what if they don't change? What if they can't? What if they continue being disgusting humans despite the remand? What did you do then?"
It was Sakuya turn to tell his story.
Sakuya was a normal child with a normal family. At least that was what it looked like on the outside. In reality. His parents were selfish and greedy. They did everything they could to make sure they lived comfortable lives in the expects of their children. When his sister was old enough to work his parents immediately forced her to take multiple part-time jobs. They took her earnings for their pleasure. Gradually, his sister got sick due to overworking. When she became useless his parents concocted a sinful plan to earn some money. They would have her kill herself and say it was an accident. They would then give money as compensation for the 'accident'. To make their crime more believable they used their son's quirk to their advantage. A quirk that could detect lies. It was a simple tick. All they had to do was apply glue to their skin and have their son perform the quirk in that area. Since it didn't directly touch their skin the quirk couldn't activate properly. But it looked like it did. It was easily falsified evidence with that trick. The police were none the wiser. Others had their suspicions, but they didn't push for the truth.
With his sister gone, Sakuya found himself all alone. No, where to go and powerless to change his fate. That's when Tsubaki appeared to him. He told the stranger what happened to him causing the stranger to hum. Before leaving he said that he would come back for him. As a child, he didn't really understand what that meant. Until years later.
When the time came his parents pulled the same trick again only this time, he was the one to die. Being pushed off the railing he to his death. It was a rainy day. The clouds were dark as the rainwater mixed with his blood and spread it further. As promised, Tsubaki returned and made him a subclass.
"And that's my story." All were silenced as Sakuya finished his tale with too high of a voice. He was smiling widely. It almost looked creepy. "So, tell me, if people continue to be horrible do you think they could change?" Sakuya crazed expression shot at the kid. His gloom forming to hate and rage. How he loathed what his parents did to him and sister. Them trying to change was a joke on itself. The second he saw his eve his expression soften.
Izuku sat back looking at him. Tears running down if freckled cheeks. "I'm sorry. You've through a lot, haven't you?"
Sakuya was frozen. The sight of this young child. A stranger crying for him. It was strange. He didn't know what to think. He simply sat there dazed as they child leapt on to him. He embraced him in a tight desperate hug. It was a tight hug like he was trying to squeeze the sadness from him. Make him forget. Kind and warm. Those are the words he had to describe this feeling. This kindness was so overwhelming. He started to cry along with him. "Why. Are you…"
"It's ok," Izuku hushed in his ear. "It's ok to be sad. It's ok to cry."
All those heart-wrenching memories, all those emotions floated back up. With their overwhelming force, he began to cry. He cried and cried accepting into Izuku's embrace. He buried his face into the smaller boy's shoulder giving him all his tears. Izuku didn't mind and calmly rubbed is back. The display of tears even affected Lilac, who held his wails back but cupping his mouth shut. Tears still started to fall down his tear ducts. Seeing this, Stain handed the subclass next to him some unused bandages he had on hand. Lilac happily accepted by blowing into the makeshift tissues.
As time pass, Sakuya let's go of his Eve, wiping the remaining tears away. "Ok, I think I'm done now. Wow, I haven't cried like that for a while." Innocently, the young Eve asked if he was ok which he responded with a good hair ruffle. "I'm fine, kid. It happened so long ago anyway. I've moved on for the most part." His assured statement didn't stop Izuku from having concern in their big eyes. he chuckled, "you weren't what I was expecting if Tsubaki ever chose an Eve."
Curiously, tilted his head, "how so?"
"Well for one I thought you'd be taller," he joked causing his little eve to pout greatly. It was adorable seeing his pudgy freckles face puff out like that. he could have sworn he heard a grumpy whisper accusing that he was mean. It delighted him more.
"Oh, give it time. I'm sure he'll outgrow you."
The subclasses froze as lightning shocked through each of them. They knew that voice. Turning to the source the saw him elegantly walking closer to them like he was gliding through the air. A smile never leaving their face, but their eyes told a different story. They were stern with a warning. Telling them they better not have said anything unnecessary. Satin was quick to kneel and bowed his head. Lilac shrunk back surprised. As for Sakuya, he stared blankly back expressively. "Master Tsubaki," all said except for the liar.
"Izuku you're ok!" he cheered completely ignoring the shocked looks of his subclass. He completely brushed past them. Not even acknowledging them for second as he dashed straight to is even. He captured him in his arms and pulled him tight. Happily, he rubbed their cheeks together with a massive grin. "I was so worried when you ran off without me." his embraced tightened to suffocating levels. Izuku had to pull on his Servamp's arms just so he wouldn't crush him. There was threatening darkness in his eyes as he whispered, "don't ever do that again."
Izuku let out several incomprehensible groans as he struggled to breath. This was different from the times he'd be angry before. While he did expect him to be mad, he didn't expect to this extent. "I…I… I understand…" he just managed to squeak out.
"Good," with an almost devil-like smile, Kurama dropped his Eve knowing that he proved his point.
Gasping for air, Izuku placed a hand on his beating heart. It raced away with his mind. So many thoughts. so many feelings. It's been an exhausting day for the young eve. Having to save his friend from the hero killer, almost dying a couple of times, meeting the subclasses and hearing their stories. How his Servamp is mad again. hopefully, there won't be another week of radio silence. He calmed with one long deep breath. "I'm sorry. I got caught in the moment," he admitted. "I was so worried about Iida and I didn't want to leave Gran Torino alone. So, I thought it was best to split up."
Firmly, Kurama placed both hands on his Eve's shoulders. He forced the child to look him in the eye. His red gazed back with threatening concern. "It's dangerous for us to be separated. Please. Don't do that again."
The Eve nodded in defeat. His eyes then caught the subclasses close by. They waited patiently. None of them attempted to interfere. Come to think about it his Sevamp had yet to greet them. How odd. "Oh, the bright side I met your subclasses. It was…an event." He rather not says that one of them tried to kill him and his friends and cause even more issues.
Finally, the Servamp greeted his old subclasses with a smile, "It's been awhile: Lilac, Elegan and you as well Sakuya. Doing well I hope." His attention then flipped to his eve who looked back at him like a child caught doing something bad. Still, he smiled, "and I see you three found my Eve. Unhurt for your sake. If I do happen to find even one of his curls misplaced. There will be a price to pay."
Fear shank into two of the subclasses. His tone was soft, but the implications were heavy. They knew full well what their master could do. that made the fear eve greater. However, one subclass took a different approach. Eyes darkened as the lair's green fringe hid them from sight. in one solid motion, he stepped up to his feet. "I'd say 10 years is more than a while," he whispered spat. Without saying anything else he began to walkway not even giving a glance to his Servamp. The silence tension continued as the two brushed shoulders. Either saying a word.
"Where are you going," Stain called out viciously. Sakuya didn't bother to look back. He could feel the hero killer's eyes burn his back. "You should at least greet the master before you leave."
The lair laughed, "why should I? he didn't greet me the last we ran into each other. Why bother now. I have no obligation to do so." He continued walking.
Tsubaki did not try to stop him. if he wanted to leave then so be it. all that matter in the present time was his Eve. Everything else is secondary. That included…his subclasses. A bitter taste whelmed up in his throat, but he kept it down. It was funny in a way. It felt like a type of punishment was handed out to him as one of his elite subclasses walked away from him. Disregarded him. Was this how they felt when he walked away. It was the best course of action he continually told himself throughout the years when he thought about them every so often. Yet he decided to stay with his Eve. It's was a decision he refused to regret. If this was what his subclasses wanted, he will not question.
"Is that all you have to say!"
He stopped. Only one thing came to mind. The memory of the warm that recently surrounded him hummed his heart. It broke through the thorns of bitterness and betrayal. he had so said this one thing. Truing around slightly, never meaning the eyes of his Servamp he smiled. "You choose an interesting Eve. Take care of him."
Surprised was an unexpected emotion he thought he'll have. He gazed at the lair's back in wonder. An odd feeling welled up in his heart as a genuine smile cracked on his lips. Having the approval of one of his previously high-ranking subclasses made his heart flutter. "For course. I am his Servamp."
"Yeah whatever" Sakuya turned back and continued walking while waving a hand behind him. "I'm going to bed ok. Lilac, if you want to talk to the asshole that abandoned us for 10 years be my guest. You have a spare key to the apartment away so do whatever," he groaned as he rubbed his bare arms up and down. "Besides It's late, I'm tired and getting cold. So, I'd like to get into my warm bed before I catch a cold."
Now that he mentioned it the group did feel the sudden chill in the air. They could blame it on the night-time air, but something was unnatural about this chill. The temperature change was too sudden. Frost formed around the walls without them noticing. Specs of frost floated around them. Trapping them or more so one of them. Suddenly, the frosty air solidified around Stain's neck forming a choker of ice. His hands and legs were also cupped in ice formations preventing any chance of escape. The others watched in helpless shock and ice chains connected his limbs along this neck. The chains then forced him to his knees with a thud. Growling at his ice imprisonment he thrust his body as much as he could but was unable to break his ice binding.
"Elegan!"
Footsteps echoed the halls. The frozen air came along with it. "I got you now, demon."
Izuku's eyes shook at the sight before him. It wasn't a terrifying one, but it was confusing. From the shadows walked out a young man. He was properly in his early twenties judging from his height and build. A slender pale skin man that wore pure white clothes with thick black rims running down his limbs and around his torso. The slacks he wore were tightly tucked into his high knee black boots. The shirt we had was a hoodie baggie in nature. The black rims created a cross-section that leads to the left side of his body. They curled around his chest with one going vertical and the other horizontal. He stared at the group with cold stern eyes.
Izuku recognized that look. The more he looked at his new individual the more he looked like his friend Todoroki. Especially with that signal strip of white hear brushed to the side. "Who are you," the boy cried out.
The newcomer meant the protective eyes of the young Eve. He smirked, "at last we meet, little angel." Izuku raised an eyebrow that only got higher as the figure gracefully spun in place. The frosted air around him glistened and whirled with him. It was enchanting. He stopped in a pose his arms crossed above his head. Fingers fanned out the wings. Elegantly he dropped one of his arms and extended a hand to them. Facial features still stern he said, "I am an angel sent here to apprehend that demon beside you. My name is Licht Todoroki." He pointed his hand to the struggling stain still wildly shaking his ice shackles.
"Licht Todoroki?" That name sounded familiar to Izuku. He could have sworn he heard it before, and he did. "Wait you're Todoroki older brother. I mean Shoto's older brother."
The older Todoroki nodded as he dropped his arms and relaxed his them in his baggy pockets. "That's also true. Shoto is my younger brother. I've been meaning to thank you for what you did in the sports festival. The fool finally realized he needs to use all his power if he wished to sore as high as me. Although, I hoped we'd met in different circumstances." He shot a cold glare at the Servamp. He received a glare back as Kurama matched it. The Servamp stepped closer to his Eve preparing for the worst. "Humph…actually, there's someone else that wanted to meet you." Twisting his head back he called out into the darkness.
A new pair of footsteps bounced across the walls. Stepping into the moonlight was a young blonde lad with a Cheshire cat smile. He wore a simple pair of black jeans paired with a white button shirt and an open yellow waistcoat. A small pair of red-rimmed glasses perched on his nose as turquoise tie loosely hung around his collar. A black scarf wrapped around his neck. They trailed behind him as he walked with long stride closer into view. "It's been a while hasn't it?"
Instantly recognised the new figure, Kurama's eyes widen in disbelieve. "It can't be."
Still smiling, the newcomer playfully bowed like a performer with one leg extended and a foot kicked up. His red eyes aimed directly at the Servamp. "Hello, little brother."
AN: MWHAUAHAA. Finally, I have reached this part. Greed vs melancholy 2.0 is next. What will happen. Only I will know. How long will it take? Only god will know.
Also I had a lot of trouble coming up with a title for this. I'm still not happy with it. I think because this chapter was a little all over the place. Sorry about that but hope it's not too bad
Another thing I'd like to note is the fact that Tsubaki tends to name his subclasses after flowers, plants or things relating to that nature. Probably because he was named after a plant himself by his dear old Sensei. So, I was playing around with possible names for our dear hero killer and found a flower called Gelsemium elegans also known as Heartbreak grass. A little flower that grows in Asian regions and is highly poisonous. Also, heartbreak. Like how he was heartbroken by hero society. Ha. Just so you know this isn't his original backstory. I did take pieces of it but if you want to find out how he lost his nose and mind, read the vigilantes spin off. It's a good read. Highly recommend it and it is cannon. I shorten the name down to Elegan because I thought it would sound better. Also, a kind of play on words for Elegant which is what Tsubaki thought of his fighting style. Wild yet oddly elegant in his strikes and movements. Anyway, that's enough of that.
foxchick1 – well here's some more. Till the next time.
zero fullbuster – yeah… well this was what's next. Don't know if anyone expected this. A part of me wanted to do a stand-alone chapter about solely on the subclasses more so the hero killer's story. But then I though against that because one it would probably be a little too short and two, I really wanted to jump into greed vs melancholy 2.0. Maybe a one shot in the future but for now we get this.
That's all. I'm off to do some school stuff. Lock down has mess up my sense of time and I have work plied up. I'm off either way. Stay safe all of you that bother enough to read this final part.
