Here we are with the next chapter. Just want to put out warnings for this chapter. There's mention of emotional and physical manipulation, trauma, rape, and assault present in this chapter. If your not comfortable reading that kind of material than I highly suggest you skip over it. Enjoy :)
Lily and Frieza were just about to settle down for sleep. When Lily got an odd feeling in the back of her mind. She got a far way look in her eyes.
"The roof." She whispered.
He looked at her in confusion. "What?"
Without warning, she got up from bed and made her way to the door. Then walked out of their room. Baffled, he got up and followed hew out.
"What is it? Where are you going?" Frieza asked.
She didn't answer just kept on walking like she knew where she was going. She took the elevator upwards. While there warning alarms started blaring. An automated voice came over the intercom; "Warning Unauthorized Roof Access."
That's all it kept repeating on a loop. Lily paid it no mind and continued up. She got to the top floor and speed walked down the hall until she got to a door. 'ROOF ACCESS, AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY', it read. It slid open and allowed her through with Frieza still closely following behind. The alarms were muffled up here, making it more quiet.
It was quiet enough for them to pick up the faint sounds of crying coming from one side of the building near the edge. Lily turned to her left and saw a figure standing near the edge. She quickly made her way over. The person had their back to them. But on closer inspection Lily could tell it was a woman by her figure and long hair. As if sensing someone was there the woman turned slightly to see who it was. She was quite young and quite pregnant.
"Don't, don't come any closer." The young woman said.
Lily didn't move closer but she kept a steady gaze on the young woman. "Miss, it's okay. But why are you doing this? What has gone so wrong in your life that you feel this is the only option left? Please talk to me. Maybe I can help."
The woman started sobbing again. "No, no one can help."
"Your right, I can't help...unless you tell me what is causing you so much pain." Lily said.
The woman takes a deep breath. "I can't do this. I look at myself everyday. Looking at this constant painful reminder of my own stupid mistakes."
Lily gives her a soft look. "What mistakes?"
She starts shaking and crying again. "The reminder of what he did to me. How he took away my choices. How he violated me. I should've never took that shortcut down that alley. This would've never happened otherwise. Why? How could he treat me like a piece of trash he could use and discard. How can anyone be so cruel?"
Lily studied her more closely. "You were taken advantage of."
It was more of a statement rather than a question. She sobbed and cried out. "I was raped!"
Lily felt tears enter her eyes. "And this baby was the result."
Again a statement rather than a question. The poor woman couldn't stop crying. Lily knew, if she had to save this girl. Then she had to go back to her own dark past and reopen painful scars.
"What is your name?" She asked softly.
The woman calmed down a little. "Erin."
"Erin...I know what your going through. I've been through a similar experience myself." Lily told her.
It was then, Frieza turned his head sharply to look at her.
Erin looked at her in surprise. "You have?"
Lily forced the lump down in her throat. "I was very young at the time, a twenty year old college kid still trying to figure out what to do in life. I met him through family seeing as he was my sister's now ex-husband's younger brother. We met during their engagement and started hooking up right after my sister's wedding. He seemed like a nice guy. Until my sister started telling me things about him. How he was a very irresponsible, lazy, cold, selfish person. But at the time I was young and naive.
Plus, my sister and I were never close and thought she was exaggerating and stretching the truth like she always tends to do about things. It wasn't long before we became intimate. Not only that, but we weren't being very careful. I questioned him and voiced my concerns about it. But he lied through his teeth and said everything will be fine. That we were being careful. He was older than me and much more experienced. Whereas, I was the young gullible, inexperienced one. Instead of respecting my concerns and putting safety into consideration. He took full advantage of my inexperience and me.
Not even three months into the relationship, I fell pregnant. I was scared and didn't know what to do or what my parents would think. But he sweet talked his way through it and convinced me everything will be fine. And I was stupid enough to believe him. It wasn't until a little later into the pregnancy I found out his real motives. You see, his family has been wanting him to leave the family home for quite some time. That he needed to find his own place and start living independently. He didn't want to.
He was too lazy and too dependent on living off his parents, rent free in his own childhood home. So the end result. He lied to me and intentionally got me pregnant on purpose. He figured since I was still young and lived with my parents that he found his meal ticket. By knocking me up, claiming paternity, and moving to my home so he could leech off my parents and their home like he was doing to his parents. He figured all he had to do was dangle parental rights over the baby so he could live under the same roof as me and my parents for free."
Lily took another deep breath and resumed her story. "I have never felt so disgusted, heartbroken, and violated in my entire life. I quickly stopped talking to him soon after this revelation. I discussed matters with my parents. We all agreed I was too young and not ready for motherhood or the responsibilities it entails. Plus, I knew the lazy ass who could barely take care of himself would never take up the time or responsibility of caring for a baby. Odds are he would've left me to do all the work. Not only that, but if I kept it then I could never truly be rid of him. I'd have to see him for all the visits for the next eighteen years.
For the next eight and a half months I could barely look at myself in the mirror or in the shower without a look of pain and disgust. For many, it was suppose to be a joyous time not a dreaded time. But unlike many couples, this baby was not created out of love. But out of one sick individual's selfishness. I became very detached from 'it' and the pregnancy. It wasn't until shortly afterwards. I realized it's not the baby's fault. They didn't ask to be born into this mess. It was all his fault. For the first time in my life, I made the most responsible decision anyone in my position could do.
To save the baby a lifetime of misery with that cold and selfish asshole of a father. I gave it up to the most loving, caring, responsible, stable couple I have ever met. That was the kind of family every baby deserved. Not the cold twisted life it would've endured if I kept it. It was then, I learned to stand up for myself and make my own life choices.
I have no regrets, I know I did the right thing. Because no matter how much I tried to convince myself I didn't care about the baby. I knew it wasn't true. I cared enough to make the right decision that would ensure it a better life. With better people who will love it unconditionally. At that same time, he had no choice but to sign over his parental rights to the couple, severing any ties to that child completely."
Lily smiled tearfully at the young woman who stood there soaking in everything Lily had to tell her. "You may think you have no choice Erin. But you do. You think this is the end, it is not. There is a way out of the darkness...there is Always a way out. But. It. Is. Certainly. Not. This. Ending one's life should never be an option or even considered. Especially when there are many solutions and steps you can take. That baby you made may have been from a traumatic accident. But Erin, your baby is innocent.
Just like my own, yours didn't ask to be conceived in such a way. But it is here, just because it happened in a violent situation, doesn't mean you or them deserve to die. To be punished for that man's actions. I along with other's who have been through similar situations are living proof that life can still get better after the darkest times in our lives. It's been ten years, and I have been able to recover and grow stronger and wiser everyday since then. If I can do it...then you could too. So please Erin come down. Your first step to recovery is by coming down from there. Just trust me. I'll stay with you as long as it takes."
Erin began crying again. But she took a deep breath and stepped off the ledge and back onto the rooftop. No sooner, did she drop down to her knees and cried harder. Lily quickly went to her, dropped to her knees and hugged the young frightened woman and whispered reassuring words to her. After about five minutes, what look to be police and paramedics came through the door and ran over to the two women. They wrapped Erin in a security blanket and ushered her off the roof with Lily staying by her side until the made it to ground level and out front to a waiting ambulance. Lily only let go of her hand as they loaded her into the back.
But before they closed they ambulance doors Lily saw a serene look on Erin's face as she said a heartfelt. "Thank You." Then the doors closed and she was carted off to the nearest hospital.
Lily wasn't sure how long she was standing there on the sidewalk staring down the road, watching the ambulance disappear. Until she felt a hand on her shoulder turning her around. She was looking in the somber face of Frieza.
"You ready to go back up?" He asked softly and quietly.
All she could do was nod as he directed her back inside the hotel and back up to their room. As soon as she sat down on the bed all she could do was stare ahead and silently let tears flow down her cheeks. It was then that for the first time when she needed someone the most right now. That Frieza sat down beside her, gathered her in his arms, and held her. After a while she started to doze. So he pulled them up the bed and laid them down. She wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face into his chest. Even then he never let go and continued to hold her throughout the rest of the night.
Not going to lie this was a highly emotional chapter to write. Because it highlights my own dark past. But now, it explains Lily's dark and traumatic past and why since then she has been hesitant to trust or let another man into her life. The next couple chapters will give more insight on what exactly happened in the lab and show the changes within Lily as the rest of the story progresses. Until Next Time ;)
