Well, last chapter was pretty deep. Definitely covered a lot of Lily's background. This chapter will be lighter. Enjoy :)
Lily was surprised she was even able to sleep at all after what happened last night. But she woke up in Frieza's arms surprisingly very well rested.
"Good Morning, Little One." He said.
"Good Morning, sorry didn't mean to fall asleep on you last night." She said.
"It's fine, you obviously needed the sleep." He told her.
She leaned up on one elbow with the side of her face cradled in her hand. She was silent for a moment. "You think she will be okay?"
He shrugs. "You were able to talk her down, the rest is up to her. Like you said, she has a choice to make. Something no one can decide for her. In the end you did all you could. Though I must ask?"
"What?" She asked.
He leaned up to look at her. "How did you know she was up there? Before you got up and abruptly left, you were whispering to yourself. You said someone is on the roof. So how could you possibly know that before the alarms went off?"
Lily tried to think of the best answer she could give him. "I don't know. Call it a feeling."
'Though she could never tell him she heard a voice in her mind telling her of someone in trouble on the roof. Last thing she needs is for him to think she was crazy. After all only crazy people hear voices in their head...right?' He gave her a look that told her he was not convinced. But he didn't push her on the matter. 'She'll tell me when she's ready.'
"Well, you ready to get going? Who knows, we may still get there sooner than later." She said.
"And here I thought I was the one in a hurry." He teased.
"Admit it, you miss your home just as much as I miss mine." She smirked.
He rolls his eyes. "Oh yes, so much I'm finding it harder to contain the tears each day. I think I'll go mad if I go another day of not being able to order some brainless minion around on my ship."
She laughs as she grabs a bowl of cut up fruit. "It's the little things you seem to miss most. Though I don't feel sorry for you. I bet those 'minions' are having quite the vacation without you breathing down their necks."
He snorts. "More like letting my empire crash and burn without me there to guide them."
"Oh the horror, what shall you do if you have no empire to rule or a clown you could kick when your throwing a tantrum?" She mocked.
He picked up a piece of fruit from the bowl tossing it at her.
"Hey!" She yelled as the offensive piece bounced off her nose leaving a wet spot.
"I see a clown sitting right across from me with a funny red nose." He smirks.
She gave him a playful glare before picking up a small handful of the fruit and smashing it on top of his head. After a round of laughter and food fights, they cleaned themselves off and packed up to leave. Once they left the building, they saw a couple familiar faces waiting outside for them.
"Hey Carter, Xander how are you guys?" Lily asked.
"Well, you did say you were leaving early this morning. We were hoping to say good bye before you left." Carter said.
"We also came to give you these." Added Xander.
He held out what appeared to be a long, thin, black gym bag. Lily took it, opened it up to look at it's contents. She pulled out a long thin but sturdy metal rod. She found the bag to be filled with them.
"What are these?" Lily asked.
"Are those the barricade rods we used the other night?" Asked Frieza.
Lily furrowed her brows and looked at Frieza.
"Yep, though these aren't mine. They're a thank you gift from a few people in Xander's Traveling Party. They heard of the journey your on. So they thought you could use these for extra protection at night. From demons I mean. You want the other type of protection, then scope out the pharmacy down the street." He paused and turned to Lily. "In his case, I recommend an athletic cup."
'That's it!' Frieza tried to make a grab for him until Lily put her hand on his shoulder to hold him back. 'Let it go,' she mouthed to him. "Thank you guys, this could really help us in our travels."
"Mr. Sensitive here seen how they work. But I'll explain it to you. Just stick them in the ground in a circle around your camp. Then use the wrist com to activate them. Every wrist com has a standard setting for barricades, including yours. The walls will expand to the radius of the rods and go up about fifteen feet. Thus, creating a protective circle around your area. They will easily let you in and out without harm. But any demons try to go through it it will zap them like a giant bug zapper. Hence why many towns use them for safety." Carter stated.
"Again thanks, and I'm glad you came to say good bye. It wouldn't feel right leaving without saying good bye to you guys." Lily said.
"Speak for yourself." Mumbled Frieza.
Lily just nudge his shoulder. They made their way to their parked hover car. Carter was parked a little further down. They hopped in and when Frieza drove up to Carter he slowed down.
"Oh, and Carter? You need to talk to someone about this abnormal fascination with trying on high heeled stilettos. The odd things you can learn about someone. When they talk in their sleep." Frieza finished with an evil smirk.
He then sped out of there. Leaving Carter with his mouth hanging open and Xander clutching his stomach, howling with laughter. Lily turned, looking at him with her hand over her mouth.
"Your Impossible, you know that right?" She asked him. Though she already knew the answer.
He shrugged his shoulders. "He had it coming." With that they exited the city, heading north toward the Sacred Area.
Until Next Time ;)
