AN: I don't own My hero Academia or Servamp

An Awkward dinner invitation

For years Endeavour lived in the shadows of one man. All Might. Ever since he came on to the scene it was like looking up a mountain. One he could never reach the top of. That was why he left everything to his next of kin. They were his hope in ever beating that man. Yet the strongest and finest of his children was defeated. Izuku Midoriya. A boy with an unusual quirk. He could not wrap his head around it. The boy was connected to that man Kurama Tsubaki who was…something. A quirk All Might claimed but now he knew better. After finding out one of his other children received the same quirk. A Servamp's bond. From what Licht told him it was a rare quirk only harboured through one family. They were known as Servamps. To activate the quirk, they must make a contract with another person. In return that person's power will be boosted. He seen it with his own eyes. His eldest son was considerably stronger thanks to this odd quirk. If Shoto were to receive one he would certainly be unstoppable. Unfortunately, according to Licht all Servamps have currently taken a partner. Perhaps for the best. These Servamps seem…like a hassle to deal with.

"Licht ~ say ahh," His son's Servamp sang while holding a spoon towards him. His eyes were smiling while he hopped stepped closer.

Licht was busy chopping up some vegtables. By that, I mean poorly cutting vegtables like child. Right now, they looked like uneven chucks. Some of them didn't even looked pealed. It was like he gave up halfway through. Large patches of skin matched the amount of exposed areas. There might have been more skin on than off. It was easily to tell he wasn't used to this. That and he was extra careful with his hands. Cutting slowly and as far away as possible from his hands. They needed to get out of this activity he was roped into unscarred. His eyes then wondered to the spoon just outside his vision. "What is it?"

"Fried rice. Made it myself," Hyde stated proudly. His chest raised a little higher. He attempted to push the spoon into his mouth, but his Eve turned away. The Servamp pouted. His cheeks puffed out like a blowfish. "I worked really hard on this you know."

"How do I know you haven't tainted it with demonic poison, demon."

The blonde stomped his foot with a huff. "Oh, come on, Licht. You ate my food before."

"Did I?"

Letting out an overdramatic sigh, Hyde popped the spoon hastily into this mouth. He grumpily munched the morsel. "See!" he mumbled through the bite. "It's fine."

Suddenly, Licht hooked his Servamp's chin forcing him in place. He quickly peaked off a piece of rice hanging off the corner of his Servamp's mouth. Hyde had to blink twice to comprehend what just happened. All the while, Licht pulled back with a faint smile of his lips. "Not bad. For a demon."

Wildly, Hyde grinned. "You sly little angel. When did you get so bold?" His eve shrugged his shoulders while returned his attention back to cutting up vegtables. Hyde was quick to hop even closer to his Eve. He was close enough to rub cheeks together. "Awe, don't be like that. Give me more affection." He pressed his body fully onto the younger man while rapping his arms around their waist. "Come on just a little more. I want more Licht." Instead of love he received a pointed knife to the forehead. It's pointed tip scratched between his eyes. "Now that's my violent angel I know and love."

"Don't push it, demon," Licht pat while waving the knife in his hand threateningly.

The other showed no sign of fear. Opting to instead cuddled with his violent partner with the knife touching his neck. "You know you love me," He sang.

Licht then procced to kick the poor Servamp in the shins. They soon collapsed to their knees because of it. "Don't flatter yourself," he huffed while flicking his white hair strand up back to position. "As an arch angel it is my duty to keep an eye on you. Prevent you from doing miss deeds. So, I merely tolerate you. That is all."

…Endeavour was still getting use to see this. His eldest son with this…blonde…He doesn't know what to call him. Or think of him. He was a stranger that as inserted himself into his family with ease. He gets along with his only daughter well enough. Shoto didn't seem to mind him. He did save him from the hero killer. So, he had that going for him. He himself doesn't mind him either. He roped Licht into the hero business and enhanced his quirk greatly. He doesn't even mind them together. No judgement there. He stopped trying to tame Licht years ago. The boy does what he likes. Even if he disagreed with this partnership, he would have no power over him. He learned it's not worth the effort quick. Besides the boy as proven his worth time and time again. Choosing to be this Servamp was no exception. He couldn't complain about any of that. Even though what he seen of their relationship was more than a little odd. He has found holes in his walls that were cause by one them. If not both. They are together right? It's hard to tell sometimes. One second, they're playfully flittering and look like an item. The next his son is kicking the guy in the face and or other parts. Which is it? Still the hardest thing to get use to was having someone in his family being so… bold.

"Eniji," Hyde called out to him. The hero turned his head to the Servamp happily waving at him with a grin. He seemed to have recovered from his son's wrath and skipped over and poked his side. "You should try smiling more. The media will go nuts. A bright smile goes a long way." He tried to forcefully turn the hero's frown upside down, but the hero was quick to shake the Servamp's hands away. Even set his facial features on fire for good measures. The Servamp hopped a couple of steps back. Yet he kept his playful expression. "Well I can see where my angel got his temperament form. But seriously we're having guests over. The least you can do is act a little friendly. You don't want to scare them by being so grumpy."

The man was quick to toss the Servamp's words aside. "Whether I smile or not is irrelevant. This is a one-time affair to show my thanks nothing more."

"Ah so the hell fire hero does have a soft side," Hyde giggled. Yes, this Servamp was more than a little bold in the way he speaks to the flame hero. He still isn't sure if he tolerated it or not.

"I must say I'm pleasantly surprised," the only Todoroki daughter piped up with a smile. To think that her father willingly invaded someone to their own home. Their family to boot. It was more than a little out of character for the flame hero. "I must ask why the sudden dinner invite, father?"

Endeavour glanced at his arm. The wound he received days ago was fully healed. Not even a scar remained. He could use his arm as well as he did before. All thanks partly to that civilian he tried to help. In a way she saved him the trouble of bleeding out and having a piece of glass lodged into his arm for the remainder of the day. He could just hear the media. The great Endeavour rushed to ER after rescue. Those swine just loved to blow up stories. He still was fuming about those articles that covered on his bruised that he received form a certain other Servamp. Those journalists will make a story on anything for a quick buck. The woman saved him from the headache and was a man who pays his dets. "The woman helped with an issue. It is only right to pay my det," he explained simply.

"Oh oh. A lady huh?" Hyde sang suggestively while wiggling his eyebrows. "Was she cute?"

"Do not dare think of immoral thoughts." he scoffed while shooting a fiery glare at the Servamp. "I am a married man and she too is married. With a child. Whatever you are thinking with that disgraceful expression unthink it now."

"Some marriage," Shoto who mainly remained quiet spat under his breath. He doesn't believe his father. Surely, there was something else he was thinking about this dinner. Whatever it was he already hated it.

"So, she has a kid. Any more information you're willing to share?"

Endeavour hummed while placing the final plate on their dining table. "They are in Shoto's class."

That hit the boy in the wrong way. "It's a girl your trying to pair me up with," he yelled accusingly. It was the only thing that made sense to him. Early match making for his future. If he were to guess which girl, it was most likely Yaoyorozu. Her quirk and status would catch his father's eye.

To his son's surprise, Endeavour shook his head, "No, she has a son."

"You're trying to pair Shoto off with a boy?" Hyde added on jokily.

"No!" Endeavour sighed while rubbing the bridge between his eyes. He didn't bother to tell his family much about the family he invited for dinner. All he wanted to do was pay his det and maybe get more information on her son and his Servamp. Mere curiosity. He didn't think his family would be this curious themselves. In hindsight it was rare to have visitors over. So rare since it never happens. He conceded. "I invited the Midoriyas. I'm sure you remember the boy that beaten you in the sports festival, Shoto. Quite a curious young man. I thought of it as an opportunity to get to know your rival in the future. I expect you to beat him next time."

Yes. It's really hard to forget about him. "Midoriya? Really?" The boy's mix matched eyes seemed to brighten up just a little bit. The anger he had before completely disappeared with the thought. This was the first time he would have a friend come over his house. All his displeasure about the event switched to hope. Hopefully, it will go well.

"Midoriya!" Hyde, having the opposite reaction to the young Todoroki, screamed in utter terror. "Oh no. That's not good. Not good at all." He was jittering in place. It was the first time they saw genuine fear from the Servamp. His legs hopped on foot to foot and he turned to screamed at his Eve. "Licht, pack up those vegtables. We go to run." His Eve gave him a small nod while packing his poorly chopped vegtables into a container casually. His Servamp on the other hand was on max speed. He ran all over the kicking packing up bits of their dinner. The other Todorokis couldn't understand the rush. It took them some time to ask since they were so mesmerised by the hastily running Servamp. Hyde looked at them with eyes of dread. "Izuku's Servamp is my youngest brother. And he hates me."

"Last time they clashed it was a hassle. I rather not spoil my dinner with those two fighting again." Licht added on causally. He pushed the lid of container with a click and nodded with a job well done.

Then Hyde literally swept his Eve off his feet. Lifting him up with one hand in a bride style position. His Eve was a little surprised as he held his container of vegtables tightly. Hyde held a basket of presumably the rest of their meal. Then he leaped through an open window with both his Eve and basket in hand. He turned and gave a small wave to the rest of the Todoroki family. "Good luck with my little brother." Then the widows shut. The remain Todoroki family members were left to stare at each other. They wondered what the did that mean. They would soon learn and maybe even partly regret it later.

Ding dong!

"Looks like they're here. I'll got greet them." Fuyumi offered and trotted along to meet this mysterious family. Curiously, Shoto followed her as their father lagged behind them. He was the head of the household. It was only natural he would greet them as well. Soon the Todorokis found themselves at the door. "Hello there. You must be the Midoriyas. My name is Fuyumi."

Beyond their door was a short woman with straight green hair and a young boy with green curls. They both bowed in greeting and exchanged names. However, there was one odd person with them. A man with piercing red eyes. He glared down the Todorokis with clear displeasure. "I smell a rat." He growled. "We should leave. This place has clearly been infested." The man was silence with a quick jab to the stomach form his Eve. His groans of displeasure only grew. It was clear to everyone present he really didn't want to be here. Still the Eve gave out apologies for his Servamp's rudeness.

"I'm a hedgehog not a rat!" Hyde yelled from one corner of the house. He was quickly dragged back by Licht. The Eve pounced out form the same corner and smacking a hand over the loud Servamp.

The two Midoriyas unaware of their presents looked around confused. "Did you hear something?"

"No, you're both hearing things," the melancholy Servmap gave the Todoroki family a malicious glare. They all gulped in union. "There was nothing. Right." The question was more of a menacing demand. His voice was dripping with warning. The Todorokis had no choice but to agree with him. Then the Servamp walked pass the two siblings and headed straight for their father. The aura he gave off was an eerier one. One false step and they may find themselves missing a head. His piercing eyes challenged the hero. Endeavour stood firm but it was hard to hide the cold sweat running down the back of his neck. The Servamp barely acknowledged him as he walked pass. He whispered pass him, "be thankful my Eve is present."

Endeavour's eyes followed the Servamp. He knew it was a risk. He didn't want this man in his home as much as they didn't want to be here. But he had a det to repay and curiosities to be answered. Beside he is the number two hero. He can deal with this Servamp just fine.

Dinner was…quiet. Other than a few compliments of the food, home and other pleasantries conversations found dead ends rather quickly. Dead air lingered between the two families. It only intensified form the glaring glances form the two clearly domain males from both parties. The other family members shrunk at the sheer aura the two put out. On one end of the table was Endeavour, calmly eating his meal. On the other side Kurama also calmly eating his meal. These two men barely said a word to each other or to anyone since dinner began. In fact, it was mainly the two women exchanging in small talk with the two younger boys sharing a couple of words as well.

"So, Endeavour sir. How is your arm?" Inko asked nervously to ease the tension.

The hero huffed as he moved his arm. "All better thanks to you. That remains me I was unfortunately unable to save your cardigan. So, I took the liberty of buying you a replacement." Inko tried to decline but Endeavour was insistent. It was hard to say no to such a powerful man. Displeasing him may cause a lot of trouble. "At any case, are you well, Miss Midoriya? I would hope you did not receive any harm form that little incident."

The woman shook her head and bowed. "I am well. Thank you for asking."

Her son was quick to cut in after, "Oh right thank you for saving my mother."

"You don't have to thank you, Midoriya. It's his job," The young Todoroki hissed. He didn't need the Midoriya family to inflate his old man's ego.

Luckily, for him. Not so much Endeavour. The Midoriya household had one other member. He's just been waiting for the chance to tear down the hero again. "Oh yes you did a swell job in protecting my Eve's mother. I will give you that much. Though she did have some minor cuts and most likely some trauma for being with such an intimidating fellow in such small quarters." The Midoriyas tried to hush the Servamp up but he was on a roll. The ever so joyful grin on his face curled more darkly as he glanced around the table. "Although I can't help but notice your wife is missing. I wonder. Did something happen to her? Surely being the number two hero you should be strong enough to protect her as well," he stated with a sly look.

Endeavour looked like he was about to blow. His flamed facial features flickered on and off. The other Todorokis became solemn but kept their composure. Inko sadly was out of the loop was confused by the sudden drop in atmosphere. Her son knew. The comment caused him to kick the Servamp under the table. He quietly told him to be quiet with his eyes not to push it. His Servamp responded was silence as he took a sip of his drink

"My wife is unwell. So, she is unavailable," the hero managed to say grimly. "Although I also see Mr Midoriya is uncounted for. I hope he is well."

The room dropped lower. Kurama's sliver tongue was sealed. He shot a glanced at his Eve. The boy's head was down. He clenched the cup in his hand tightly. His mother was quick to noticed and forced the attention on to her. "Ah yes my husband is also unavailable for dedicated reasons. I'm sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she gets better soon." Awkward silence entered the room again. Both Todoroki siblings looked more uncomfortable as they caused sadden glances at their plates. Inko was quick to pick up on it. Her better side wanted to comfort them, but she also knew it would be best to change the subject. For all their sakes. "By the way are we expecting anyone else. I see there as two other plates set up."

The Todorokis turned to the empty places. The silver wear remained untouched. They knew who was meant to occupy them and had a pretty good idea where they were. However, from what they could tell form their departure and meaning the melancholy Servamp it was best to remain quiet. "My son and his partner were meant join us, but something came up. The two of them are quite busy being new to the hero scene."

"You mean Licht," Izuku commented excitedly. He tried to find more information on the pair, but he couldn't. Something always stopped him. Either that or the information he did found was incomplete in some way. Especially anything considering his partner. It was strange. He doesn't usually have trouble finding information on heroes like this before. "His quirk really is amazing. I'm surprise he hasn't entered the hero scene earlier. His control over his ice was so mesmerising to watch form the clips I've seen. He must have trained a lot."

"HA! If he had it wasn't under me," Endeavour said with a prideful grin. "That boy was always such a hassle. I had high hopes in him at first but had no way of teaching him. His quirk was too different from my own. He's self-taught mostly. Then he grew a rebellious stage and refused heroism. No matter how hard I tried he continued to reject it. He took up piano instead and become the top in his craft. So, I cannot complain."

"A pianist you say." It took some time for Izuku to piece it together. He thought he heard that name before. This hero was the same guy that Shoto asked to go to a concert. The pianist. Also, the same guy that his Servamp was wary of. He glanced at his Servamp. He looked calm for the most part, but he could still see the beads of sweats falling from the side of his head. He was hiding something. That's for sure. Slowly, the Eve was piecing it together.

It was then Endeavour took the opportunity to ask one the questions he hoped would be answered: "Yes. That does bring me to a question I've been meaning to ask. How does a Servamp chose to Eve?"

Izuku's mouth dropped. "Excuse me!" Even Kurama was put off guard. His mouth hanged in place. this was the last thing he expected to hear today.

Ignoring, their shock the hero explained himself. "You see my son happened to come across one and become an Eve. I see you have the same quirk. The results are interesting. I though such information could be beneficial to know for future reference. They didn't give me much information themselves."

Kurama's shocked dulled out. He understood now. The man was curious about them. Maybe even wanted a Servamp of his own. Or to set up a contract with his son knowing it will make him more powerful than he already was. That is if the opportunity presents itself. Sly man. "Well considering most of my siblings, if not all of them, has joined that god-awful organisation. They are not allowed to speak much about us Servamps. Since I am not a part of them, I can speak however much I like." A devil like grin appeared on his face. The hero was beginning to second guess ever asking. He didn't like the face the Servamp was making at all. Maybe it was better not to know.

Meanwhile, Izuku didn't know what to think. His friend's older brother was an Eve. Like himself. He never met another Eve or Servamp face to face before. He was even more curious about the pair. Although, he did have the to meet them if it wasn't for Kurama encouraging him not to go. He still didn't know why. He knew so little about his Servamp's family. He just knew he had a strong hatred towards them…strange. Something didn't feel right again. Those black patches of memory. Why was he thinking about them now?

"You see there is no set-in stone rule to how a Servamp choses an Eve. Of course, there is a process a pair must go through to solidify the bond. All in all, it is all up to the Servamp to choose. Allow me to be an example. I chose my sweet little Izuku here. Simply because I had an interested him. That and I spent most of his young life as his pet fox. It only seemed natural for me to choose him as he grew older. However, your son's Servmap is a little different." A wicked grin appeared on his face. those who saw felt shivered run now their spines. He cackled evilly, "My older brother Greed is attracted to those with talent. Many of his past Eves that I know of were performers. Interestingly enough. Just as many of those Eves met an unfortunate end. A nasty habit of his I'm afraid. I wonder how long it will be till he gets bored of his current Eve and…"

Smack!

Kurama suddenly was cut off when something hit him on the back of the neck. It dropped down his back and rolled off his chair. His eyes were drawn to the side. Rolling away was a carrot top an inch thick. In rolled in an even circle before coming to an abrupt stop.

The others around the table looked at him confused. One side of the table could piece together what was happened. One glace out the window was clear enough. The Todorokis could see Hyde's head was just poking up the window. His eyes burned holes at his younger brother's back. To top it all off he had his middle finger aimed at him. The older Servamp looked like he wanted to get into a yelling match with his brother. Soon Licht popped up and stomped a foot on his Servamp's head. He went down quickly. The Eve then glanced at his family members while placing a finger on his lips. He let out a silent hush while closing the window quietly. The Midoriyas didn't notice at thing. Too curious about were the carrot top came from.

Of course, Kurama was not amused. Glaring at the carrot, his sword manifest in his palm. "As I thought. There is an infestation." He quickly stood up and aimed his glare at the window. His blade perked up as he held it tighter. "Allow me to deal with it." He was about to pounced out the window stabbing, but he was pulled back. He looked behind him to find his Eve grabbing on to his wrist. His eyes made it clear he didn't want him to go and make a scene. He was always so weak to those eyes. His blade faded, and he sat back down. "I suppose I'll let the rat be this time."

A piece of paper clawed out of the gaps of the window. Written with the yelling words. 'Stop calling me a rat!'

The Servamp somehow knew what was going behind him. He summoned a blade at his back. It sored straight through the wall piercing the paper at its heart. Defeated, the paper retreated to where it came. Ripping in half long the way. Half of it soon came back with a new message.

'Meanie'. Then it slit back. The sword disappeared with it leaving behind an almost invisible hole.

Smiling innocently, Kurama asked, "Any more questions?"

Outside, Greed was pouting at this rip up note. "Tsubaki, that meanie. Calling me a rat. I am clearly a hedgehog." He curled up the paper pieces and tossed them aside. He leaned his head against the outer walls of the Todoroki home and stared up at the roofed patio. It was a nice day for a picnic. Too bad he couldn't go out and feel the sun himself. Unless he wanted to be a hedgehog the whole time. It's tough being a Servamp. His eyes then wondered to his Eve. They were looking at one of the vegetable pieces he cut out with childlike wonder. Somehow this piece looked like a little cat head. It was cute. The smile he wore turned into a frown as he remembered his younger brother's words. Yes, after his precious Ophelia passed, he never thought he would find an Eve to make him feel like she did. So, he got onto this streak of throwing his Eves away when they bore him. That was until he met his current Eve. He didn't know how hooked he would become to this boy until much later. Now he couldn't dream of ever letting go. "You know I would never do that do you, right Licht?"

Licht glanced at his Servamp. He knew about his past Eves and didn't care. All that mattered then and even now was his career and maybe him. Just a little bit. "Ha! I like to see you try and through me demon. I'll sooner send you to hell."

Hyde grinned from ear to ear. Happily, he leaned on his Eve's shoulders. "Well you better get comfortable angel cakes. Cause I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me until your pathetic human life ends."

The Eve huffed and turned his head. Yet the Servamp could still spot the sight smile over his Eve's lips.

The questions continued steadily in an uninterrupted conversation. Occasionally, others will give their two cents but in was mainly the two who were silent at the beginning. Endeavour asked about various things. Information regarding the other Servamps and their Eves. How leads worked. How the sharing power worked etc. As for Kurama he gave him a mixture of answers. Some were outright lies. At times Izuku would correct if he knew they were such. Some were half-truths. He couldn't tell the man everything. A hand fully was honest and truth. One question stood out to the Servamp that he did not expect.

"As for drinking the Eve's blood. Should I be concern about that?" His harden eyes soften to sincere concern. For a benefit second, he looked like a father for once. "I allowed Licht free rein on his life for the most part. So far, he has not disappointed. But I can't help but feel a little warry about this unusual partnership."

Shocked did not even begin to describe the feeling he had. He wasn't to alone either. Even the Todoroki siblings looked at their father as if he were another man entirely. The Servamp searched for lies. It was be great to have one of his subclasses by his side right now. Their quirk would be useful. He feared that he wouldn't need it. From what he could see in the hero's eyes was pure burning certainty. How very interesting. The Servamp couldn't help but grin wildly. "What's this I see? The great Endeavour being a father. Hahahahahaha… how interesting." Kurama popped his elbow on the table and allowed his head to peach on his hand. His eyes stare at the hero intensely lacking any form of malice he had before. "No need to worry. The blood isn't as essential to us as our name suggest. It is required to maintain and activate the bond between Servamp and Eve. So, we only need to drink when it comes to battle or if we feel weak. On the regular we can eat food like normal humans. It's not like we can starve to death either. So, we don't really need it to sustain ourselves if that's your worry."

His eve nodded in agreement. Rescuing the flame hero. " Kurama doesn't drink my blood often. Even when he does it's only very little. It takes some getting used to but once you do it doesn't even hurt."

"I see." Then Endeavour did something even more unexpected. He smiled. It was a genuine smile that did not fit his harden character at all. It made those around him awe at the sight. "That is good to hear," he finished off kindly.

Inko was still in awe. A man as intimating and scary looking as the flame hero sliming like that was a sight. Happily, she giggled giving out hero own smile. "You know Mr Endeavour you have such a nice smile. You should use it more often."

In a snap of Endeavour returned to his strict frown. It looked to be more exaggerated than before. "I don't need to smile. I rather not be compared to that smiling fool more than I already am."

"Agreed. One smiling idiot is good enough. If you tried to act like him now, I think you'll be even more terrifying than you are now." Endeavour face flared at he yelled at the Servamp who casually pushed it off. The intimidation factors this hero had did little to faze him like it did with the Midoriya and his own family. A curious gleam in his eyes sparkled. "I must ask. Why you are, so hell bent on suppressing that man. It's pretty much impossible."

The hero's flames dulled. Calm entered his system while his eyes remain stern. "If I don't who will." He sated simply.

It was a simple statement, yet it explained so much. If no one ever tried to supress the all mighty symbol of peace what will happen when that symbol disappears. All Might cannot stand being this society's pillar forever. The Servamp and his Eve knew that more than anyone. The mighty hero's time was running out. Even if Izuku takes his place. He still has a long way to go before he could take up that mantel. If the pillar falls before the child was ready someone else must hold it. The only one that possibly could be was the number 2 hero. Endeavour. Kurama hummed at the thought. Unexpectedly, he was starting to understand. How interesting. "A valid point you have there, but I counter you with this." His red eyes pieced deeply into the hero soul. The man straightened up the second he contacted them. "The steps you took to obtain your goal. Was it worth it?"

"What kind of question is that!" Endeavour raised his voice while slamming his hands on the table.

It terrified two out his three guests. Making them jump from their seats. The Servamp remained sterned. Eyes dead on the hero's. The man has yet to give him a proper answer. He was still waiting.

"I!" His throat dried. He glanced at his children. His daughter was frozen in place. Shivering ever so slightly. His youngest son turned away from him. He could see his scar. A permanent remainder of everything. "I…" It was…a question. One he couldn't think of an immediate answer to. The hero's words were completely lost. He stared at the remaining food on his plate. Thinking. Surely an answer will come to him. He hoped but nothing did. All that came were dark memories and thoughts. "I…"

"I must the best by any means necessary"

You'll never surpass him

"It's all your fault you did this to me"

"Are you proud of yourself?"

What have I done?

That witch!

I am being too hard

Not hard enough

I must get stronger. I must get stronger.

"I don't have a choice"

They all compiled in in a black buzzy of noise. The hero's head became light. His vison blurred. Arms stiffened to the point they trembled form the tension. Was it worth it? Was any of it worth it? It had to be right? He worked so hard. Did so much…Yet the result felt hallow. It had to be worth it. He didn't have a choice. It's not like he could go back on any of it. He couldn't afford to regret anything. He couldn't afford to be wrong. Not when he came this far. But…if that were true why is he so hesitant to say it. Then a soft hand touched his. His eyes shot up the arm and saw the gentle face of Inko Midoriya.

The woman smiled kindly at him. "Forgive me if I'm stepping out of line. My husband used to say this: 'It doesn't matter what you did. It's about that you're going to do.'" she stoked his hand with calming kindness. It brought the hero back to his senses enough to feel a stinging sensation in his eyes. He heated them up slightly. Burning the evidence of sadness. Inko's smile continued, "I can see it in your eyes. You have a lot of regents. Even if you don't want to admit to them. There is no use trying to change something that can't. The past is over, but the future can be altered right now. Maybe even finding ways to mend the past in the now. It won't be easy. Things may never be what they once were. But they can be better. He and I believed that everyone no matter how rough they are can change. They just need to want that change." Then she let go of the hero's hand allowing it to drop at his side. Her smile looked a little brighter as the hero stared at her face. Her smile shined brighter than any flames he could produce. "So, Mr Endeavour what are you going to do?"

The hero was silent. Again, he was faced with a question he had no answer to.

Then the youngest Midoriya spoke up catching the other Todoroki's attention. "You don't have to know an answer now," he proclaimed somewhat nervously. "But it is something to think about."

Nodding, the hero turned to his family. His two children stared at him like he had a second head. They never seen their father quite like this before. Then he turned to the family than he allowed into his home. The smiling woman next to him and the nervous boy across from him. Even the Servamp grinned. Slyly he may add. This day was unexpected. Nothing quite like what he imagined. He thought it would be simple. Repay his debt. Say his thanks. Ask his questions. That was it. Just a single event he had no intentions of ever repeating. "This experience was…interesting to say the least. I didn't hate it."

Shoto's eyes widen even more than they were. Fuyumi's mouth was curled up into the happiest smile she could have. "Does that mean we can have the Midoriyas over again?"

Endeavour glanced at the family in question then back to his own family. He huffed with a stern expression. "I suppose I wouldn't be completely against the idea. So long as it does not affect my schedule. If it does, I trust you'll be a good host to them."

Jumping up some her seat Fuyumi clapped with glee. She became to ramble of all the dishes she would love to make the next time the family comes to visit. Inko chimed in saying that she'll bring some of her own dishes next time. Shoto was very pleasantly surprised. He though this dinner would be a disaster which it almost become in several moments, but it ended well. The food was even eaten and was not thrown on someone's face. It was more than he hoped for. Then there was Izuku happily nodding along. Even Kurama who absolutely hated the thought of even coming near this place was accepting to the idea. On one condition. "I suppose this was fairly interesting. I would advise you deal with that rat problem when we come back."

Bang! A long noise of something hitting the walls came behind them.

Kurama bit back a screamed but still hit the up volume on his voice. "My that was loud. That rat must be a fat one."

Bang!

"And overdramatic too!"

Curiously, Izuku attempted to look behind him. Was it really a rat? Then Izuku forced the boy's head forward by grapping the top of it with one hand. He stated that it would be unwise to give the rat more attention. Otherwise it will never go away and will come more annoying. The boy's cheeks puffed up at the Servamp. "You know you have a lot to answer for." His Servamp tried to play it off as if he knew nothing but Izuku pushed. "The other Servamp pair. You clearly know them."

"A story for another time." By another he meant never but his Eve didn't need to know that.

"You know maybe we could come to you. I'm sure Shoto would like to go to a friend's house for once," Fuyumi suggest happily. She was getting ahead of herself that's for sure, but she could help it. it was a chance for her family to get a piece of normalcy and he was willing to take any of it. Luckily, Inko was recipient of the idea. She did warn their little apartment might be a little small to fit all of them, but they could figure it. She would love to have company over. It's been awhile since Izuku had any of his friends over either.

The more they talked the more Izuku grew excited. "That sounds great. I could break out my old games. It's been awhile since I had an opponent beside me for Smash. Me and Kacchan use to play a lot but he stopped wanting it play with me."

"Sore loser," Kurama whispered cough under his breath. That boy sure could whine. Each one of his many, many loses where music to his fox ears.

Shoto tilted his head confused with a concerned expression. "What's Smash? That sounds dangerous. I don't want to break anything of yours."

"It's a fighter video game. You never played before?"

"I don't really play video games."

"Well I can introduce to some of my favourites!" Izuku cheered. First time players were always a lot of fun to react to. "How do you feel about RPGs?"

"What's an rpg?"

"Oh, it's going to be so interesting to show you something horror base like slender or Fnaf."

"Slender…fan…aft? Are those weird hero names or something?"

"I'm going to go with 'or something'. I do believe there is a hero called Slender. Their quirk allows them to become really thin and tall. They can crawl into small cracks. Kind of like Edge Shot if he could stretch out and not as thin as paper."

"So, the game is about them?"

"No, it's about this faceless, tall, tentacle monster that makes these drawing you have to find in the middle of the woods."

"…we have to go to the woods and collect drawings. Why?"

"I guess I could show you something more recent like siren head."

"That sounds uncomfortable."

Fuyumi was over the moon. Finally, something normal for her family. It's been so splintered for years for several reasons. Her eldest brother leaving the household. Her other bother…they don't like to think about it. Just like what happened to their mother. Of course, there was her father and Shoto's training. The fractures between them were lager but maybe. Just maybe they had a chance to be better. "We should have mom join us too," she blurted out without thinking.

Her father choke and shot a look of disapproval at her. "Don't get ahead of yourself Fuyumi. We don't want to push your mother."

The girl's excitement dwindled but did not fade. She wanted to keep this happy atmosphere as long as possible. "Ok well maybe Mr Midoriya could join us next time. He sounds like a nice man. I'd like to meet him."

Her brother agreed. He was always curious about his green haired friend's father. Ever since their last conversation about him. Also, a part of him still believed it's All Might. "I would like to meet him as well. If possible." And rub it in his father's face if his theory was true.

Even their father hummed in agreement, but the Midoriya's did not. Inko was silent as her eyes wondered back to her son. His head was down. A cloud hovered over him. He whispered out a sad 'papa'. She hated to see him like this. It was proof that even now he still hasn't completely recovered. Kurama was quick to his Eve side. He wrapped an arm around him while rubbing their arm. The woman was happy to have someone like him watching over her son. Her worries lessened just a little bit. He'll be fine. It should be that bad this time. Then she remembered the Servamp's eye colour. Her eyes widen in terror. "Kurama! Wait no!"

But it was too late. Her son looked up at his Servamp with a reassuring smile. He wanted to say he was ok. There was nothing to worry about. He was be ok. That was until their eyes locked. His smile disappeared. Confused the Servamp tried to call out to his Eve but no response. He tried again and again but no response. The boy started shivering as his concerns grew. Then he tried to touch the boy's face.

Smack! Kick! Crash!

Mouths dropped at the scene they just witnessed. It all happened so quick. None could even comprehend. They only witnessed the after math thorough. Izuku fallen form his chair. Flat on the floor shivering. His eyes shot wide. His pupils twitching a mile a minute. His teeth clenched back his screams. He was panting heavily and rapidly. The Servamp on the other hand was frozen like a statue. His hand still held out some were the Eve use to be. The most shocking thing was the blood tricking down his nose.

Izuku's mouth tried to form words, "I…I…I…" Then he shot up from where he was and dashed out of the dining room faster than anyone could catch him.

Kurama remained still. He moved his extended hand to his nose. He could feel his own blood running down his fingertips.

"Kurama, I'm so sorry," Inko cried in a panic. Quickly, she took at a handkerchief she kept in her pocket and pinched the Servamp's nose. The Servamp did nothing to resist her. His mind wondered somewhere else. The woman tilted his head up preventing more blood form dripping out. She cried many apologises. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I should have warned you sooner. It never came up till now. I'm so sorry. I didn't think he would kick you like that."

The Servamp said nothing or did anything. his eyes were still wide. He didn't even blink.

Then Fuyumi cut in while bowing her head repeatedly. "If anyone should be saying sorry it's me. Did I say something to offend you?"

Inko looked up at the girl with a sadden expression. Her face soon dropped. He held the Servamp close. Placing his ear to her heart. It was just as much a comfort to him as it was for her. then her eyes wondered to the open door her son ran out from. she bit her lip hesitantly. After some time, past she finally talked. "You see my son suffers from a case of Post-traumatic stress disorder. It happened when he was very young. He never fully recovered. Instead formed some…habits. He hasn't had an episode like this in a long time."

Hesitant himself Shoto decided to cross the line and asked the question they were all wondering. "What happen." A sad glace form the woman made the boy jump. Did he ask too much? Still he got an answer. It just wasn't one he expected to hear.

"My husband Hisashi was murdered by a villain years ago. As far as I know the villain was never captured. Only Izuku has seen their face."

The Todoroki family were lost for words.

Meanwhile,

In a panic Izuku rushed through the halls of the Todoroki estate. He didn't know where he was going. He just wanted to run. Run from all the memories but he could not. In fact, the memories become clear the more her ran. He hated it. He did this once before. Back then. He was running but didn't know why. The wall warped in his vision. The walls grew ten times as big. He felt small again. so small. So weak. He ran and ran until his legs gave way. He tripped over the wooden flooring. His jaw hitting the hard floor. He groaned. His version become even more blurred. Visions of cold red eyes entered his mind. That haunting voice. That haunting voice… He covered his hand over his ears in a sorry attempt to block it all out. "Please stop. I don't want to remember. Stop it please." He begged to whatever force willing to hear him. Then a certain line echoed in his head.

"Stay here. I promise I will come back."

Weakly, the boy lifted up his body, "yes…papa."

AN: I will make this absolutely clear. Izuku's father. Hisashi Midoirya for this AU is dead. He is never coming back. There will be no plot twist that reveal that he was alive this whole time. Or was turned into a subclass. He is dead and shall remain dead. I'm so sorry Izuku. You as well Inko Also, this was supposed to be 1 chapter but in ended being too long for my liking, so I split the thing in half for my own sanity. That is all.

zero fullbuster – well. here it is. Next one might come early since it's halfway done. Or not if I decide to jump to my other thing.

Guest – If it isn't obvious to now, I am slow but alive. I've been thinking of shrinking some stuff down but it hurts me. There's this ending a really want to have but to get to it requires a lot of build-up. so, I've been thinking of ending it on another point more wholesome then if I'm up for it make another with my intended ending. I'll think about it.

Anyway, I need to decide on whether I continue the second half of this one or move back to my other one. Might just flip a coin.
