Here we are with the next part of the last chapter: Final Destination and Showdowns. Another exciting chapter with Gaea facing off against the demons and restoring the balance that the gods threw off kilter in her absence. Enjoy :)
There really wasn't anywhere for Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza to go. They were all completely surrounded by demons who were closing in fast on their location.
"Are we really suppose to stay here like sitting ducks?" Replied Goku not liking this situation.
"You mean you haven't realized it yet?" Asked Frieza.
"Realize what?" Goku asked.
Vegeta could feel and sense it to. "Kakarot, try powering up."
"But how? Didn't the sorcerer take our powers away?" Goku said with confusion.
"He's gone and he's powerless now. Come on, you mean to say you don't feel it?" Vegeta asked again.
Goku concentrated and let out a small power up. He looked down at himself and cheered.
"Alright!" Just then a demon pounced at Goku. "Gah!" He quickly jumped in the air meeting up with Vegeta and Frieza who were already floating high up away from the danger down below.
Both Vegeta and Frieza had their arms crossed. "Took you long enough."
He giggles and rubs the back of his head. "Yeah, Sorry."
He then realized Vegeta and Frieza had their gaze trained below them. Gaea was still on the ground and the demons had her surrounded. She risen her arms with a threatening display of lightning shooting from them. She began to speak to them in her ancient dialect.
"You will all return from the dark depths of the Underworld from whence you came. All those who refuse shall feel my wrath.
You will tell Mephistopheles I request an audience with him, NOW!" She yelled.
No sooner then she finished, many of them started digging at a rapidly fast pace into the ground and disappeared beneath the earth. There were a few stragglers who stayed behind resisting her demands. She lifted her palms straight to the sky. At the same time the remaining demons lifted off the ground. She clapped her hands together just once and the demons exploded into sulfuric ash.
She slowly lowered her arms down, turned and looked up to Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza.
"Fear no more, it is safe to return to the ground now." She assured them.
So they lowered back down to the ground in front of Gaea. "I sent every single demon in this mortal plane back to the Underworld. Now I must go down and consult with Mephistopheles and tell him to close his entrance to the mortal world. Demons will never walk the earth again."
She was about to leave, when Frieza approached her. "Let me go with you."
"Trust me child, the Underworld is no place for the living and Mephistopheles's moods can be very unpredictable." She informed him.
He went to speak again but she held her hand up to silence him. "I shall be back shortly, I may not wish to take you to the Underworld. But when I return from there, I will take you all to the Eternal Realm of the Gods." She told him.
"That's Awesome, we will wait right here for you" Said Goku.
While Frieza still look unconvinced.
"He will not touch me, he wouldn't dare lift a hand to his Creator. He's very aware of what will happen if he does." She reassured him.
Vegeta gave her a stern look. "Which is?"
"Erase him from existence of course." She said, like it was no big deal.
"Whoa, hey guys doesn't she kind of remind you of the Zenys?" Goku asked.
He was in fact referring to the Grand Zenos back home in his universe.
She smiles and shakes her head. "I will return shortly."
Gaea gives Frieza one last smile and disappears.
"Don't worry Frieza, she'll be fine. She knows what she's doing. By the way, I like your new sparkly form. How is it your still able to obtain it still? Is it not draining your energy like your Golden Form use to do?" Goku asked, clearly intrigued by this new form.
Frieza looked down not realizing he was still in this new form. He concentrated and relaxed, making the form dissipate leaving his true form underneath.
"I don't know what that was. It was something I never achieved before now. Strangely, I don't feel drained of energy like what happened the first couple times I transformed into my 'Golden State'. I think the real mystery is how did I get my power back?" Frieza asked.
"I can answer that for you." Chirped Goku.
Vegeta turned to stare at him. "Okay Kakarot, humor us. How did he get his power back in order to fight the sorcerer?"
"According to Lily, Gaea told her that it was there all along. Just incapacitated by layers of magic. Same went for us too, Vegeta. She said, putting Lily in harms way causing Frieza's emotions to sky rocket; is what helped his power push through the many barriers of magic that was restraining it. Don't be mad at Lily, Frieza. She said it was the only way it would work so you could defeat the sorcerer. Plus, she was never in any real danger. Gaea wouldn't let any harm come to Lily." Goku stated.
About ten minutes into the conversation they felt the earth quake yet again.
"Oh great, what now? I don't think we can deal with anymore surprises." Grunted Vegeta.
"Maybe Gaea challenged that Mefostifles Dude to Rock, Paper, Scissors like Lord Beerus did with Oolong that one time, and he's probably losing?" Goku stupidly said.
Vegeta and Frieza just looked at Goku like he grew two extra heads. Vegeta nailed him in the back of the head.
"You Idiot!, just because Lord Beerus can act childish sometimes doesn't mean all gods are like that." The saiyan prince snapped.
"Ow! Jeez, you didn't have to hit me for it. Okay, maybe she challenged him to a staring contest instead?" He added.
Now it was Frieza's turn to whack him across the back of the head causing Goku to yell out once again.
"Just stop talking you fool." Vegeta said.
Another few minutes later and Gaea finally returned.
Vegeta was the first to talk. "So what's the news?"
"He closed the entrances and earth is safe once again." She informed them.
"If that's so, what was that earthquake we felt a few minutes ago?" Asked Frieza.
"He didn't agree to close the entrance at first. He was having too much fun setting his hounds lose on the mortals. Just like the difficult child he's always been, he threw a small fit. It was only when I threatened to turn his realm into a beautiful meadow of flowers with dancing fairies and stuffed animals did he hastily agree to close down the entrance for good. I got that marvelous little idea from glimpsing into Frieza's past memories." She finished with a very Lily-like shit eating grin.
It was then Goku and even Vegeta busted out laughing from the ingenious move. While Frieza stood there mouth agape not knowing whether to be impressed by the notion or horrified that this goddess went snooping into his mind.
"Anyways, shall we start for the Eternal Realm? As mortals who witnessed the plight on this earth, you can testify on their behalf. It may also help me weed out the guilty parties. Though I have a few in mind. There were quite a few of my immortal children who grew jealous of the attention I gave my mortal children and wish I never created them." Gaea stated.
Goku went to stand in front of her. "Well then, let's hit it!"
She smiled and raised her hand and they all disappeared.
They couldn't even begin to describe the breathtaking sight before them. It was like no place they have ever seen before. They were surrounded by warm sun and clouds over floating fields of grassy meadows. Waterfalls were pouring out of some of the clouds. It was like a floating earth high in the sky. But with a more ethereal feel to it. They followed Gaea through a meadow when a winged glowing human approached them. Whoever they were, when they spotted them; they rushed over rather quickly before coming to a sudden stop in front of Gaea.
"Great Mother, You have returned!" Said a very female voice.
"Greetings Remiel, we are here to seek an audience with Kyrios and the other high gods. I wish to add, it is urgent and that you make haste." Gaea said.
She nodded and bowed, then gave a questioning look at the mortals accompanying the Goddess. "Forgive Me Great Mother, but why are these mortals present in your mist?"
"They are here as mortal delegates. Now if you please Remiel?" The Goddess pressed.
"Right, apologies Great Mother." With that, she shot off into the sky at great speeds and was out of sight in moments.
She was hardly gone two minutes when she came back and informed Gaea that they await her in the Great Hall. Then Remiel blew out air, like one blowing out candles on a cake. A portal formed and opened to a massive hall. Gaea stepped through and Goku with the others followed close behind her.
They found themselves surrounded by bright glowing beings all decked out in bright white robes. Upon Gaea's entrance all of them knelt down to one knee with their heads bowed in respect to their Mother and Creator.
"I regret to inform you my children, that my visit is not a joyous one. I went into hibernation leaving everything in it's proper balance between the worlds of both my Immortal and Mortal Children.
Can you imagine how I felt to wake from my long rest, only to find not only the balance thrown off but both planes thrown into pure disaster and disarray? I have an idea of who the guilty parties are and I'm willing to let them speak for their actions. But first, I wish for you to hear of the chaos found on earth from these mortals I bring for witness." She stated.
She inclined her head to the side and nodded for Vegeta, Frieza, and Goku to speak.
Frieza spoke first. "As the guilty party already knows the world was being heavily overrun with demons..."
Collective gasps and mutters came from the Gods and Goddesses present. Gaea raised a hand to silence them and let him finish.
"The demons were deliberately target mortals and destroying all that came into their path. Liliana, Goku, Vegeta, and Myself were all subjected to numerous close encounters with these creatures. There have also been countless mortals who have stepped forward bringing the problem to light. Talking about the countless people slaughtered over the decades; acquaintances, friends, and loved ones alike. Populations were being decimated in droves pushing men even further to extinction." He ended.
Frieza then looked to Vegeta to add in his testimony.
"He is right, we had to struggle to survive against these demons and people are fearing for their very lives. They have to barricade their remaining populations with high tech barriers just to keep the demons out and their people safe. It was a war zone, hell on earth if you will. Though it was painfully clear how one-sided this war truly was. Seeing as mortals cannot destroy the immortal beings that were demons." He added.
He looked to Goku to finish the testimony.
"It's the truth. If it weren't for the Creator coming back to save us, the demons would've continued to roam the earth until all life was officially wiped out of existence. I get that not all the gods tolerate mortals. But that should never indicate eradication to a whole race or species. Mortals may not be perfect like their immortal counterparts. But its our flaws that make way for our own improvements and make us unique. It's true, some humans are evil. But many of them are good too. It's that balance we make up for our flaws. So we can experience and learn from them." Goku stated.
Gaea turned back to face the immortals. "They have spoken their peace. Now I wish to hear from you."
One being who seemed to shine brighter than the rest stepped forward and bowed his head.
"Great Mother, it behooves me to share my awareness of the plight of mortal men on earth. But please understand, we have been tracking a decent size handful of troublemakers who have been jumping from one world to the next creating havoc wherever they go.
We send out other immortals and angels to try and fix the damage done to these worlds. Only to be informed a few more other worlds were attacked. As we correct the problems on one world; more arise on others. We have exhausted out troops to the point there were hardly any left to spare for earth." He informed her.
She believed in Kyrios sincerity, and knew as one of her eldest children was among one of her most faithful. Hence why she granted him title of ruler over the eternal realm.
She then closed her eyes and raised her arms. You would think a task as weeding through a couple thousand gods, goddesses, and angels to find the culprits would be a long, daunting, difficult task. But with in a matter of moments, she tracked down every single one and with one clap of her hands they all materialized before her and the other immortals in the great hall. There had to be several hundred new gods, goddesses, and a few angels that just arrived. Many with a bewildered look on their face on how they came to be in the great hall.
Gaea's bright aura shifted into something darker. "My irate children, words cannot fathom how truly disappointed I am with you all. You have taken my beloved realm and flipped it upside down, creating chaos wherever you roam. For that, you will all be punished for your heinous crimes and disobedience of you Great Mother."
As soon as she finished many looked upon their mother with shear horror. All of them began speaking at once. It became so loud Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza had to cover their ears from the barrage. Many pleaded mercy from the Great Goddess while some others tried to justified their actions. The small party of angels involved dropped to the ground groveling their own pleas of mercy. But there will be no forgiveness this time. She let these corrupt children get away with too much already.
"I banish all guilty gods and goddesses involved to spend eternity in the nine levels of purgatory where they will spend it watching over the damned." She clapped her hands once and all the bad gods and goddesses disappeared, sending them all to purgatory.
She then looked to the remaining guilty angels.
"To my immortal messengers, I strip you of your wings and immortality. You will live out the remainder of you shortened lives among the mortals." They all cried out in despair, but she didn't let the cries sway her. She clapped her hands one last time and they watched as their wings melted away and lose their ethereal glow. Then they too disappeared, to the mortal realm below.
"My children, let this not be a lesson in fear. But let it be a lesson in life. You must all remember like us, the mortals deserve to live their lives and do what they will with it. Whether it be for corruption or goodness is up to them. This is why I have gifted them with the ability to choose. No being whether it be immortal or mortal is ever the same.
I created each and everyone of you uniquely to begin with. Because I believe as an individual, you should make your own path in life. Now that I have spoken my peace, I will take my leave. I promised these mortals I'd send them back home. Take care my children, and remember I will always watch over you and guide you. Farewell." With That Gaea along with Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza disappeared.
Hope everyone liked the interaction they all had with the other immortals. On homework for this chapter I looked into names and meanings for the gods and angels mentioned in this chapter.
Kyrios- one of several names of god from the new testament. It is one of the many names used for god by the ancient greeks.
Remiel- one of the seven important angels of good.
Gaea- one of ancient Greece's oldest primordial deities. She is the very personification of Earth and the ancestral mother of all life.
There are nine personified levels of purgatory. They are split between the first two levels:
Ante Purgatory: for people with stubbornness and for the repentful
The next seven levels are reserved for the sinners of the seven deadly sins:
Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust
