#2: The Saturday Night

Saturday, the last day of the music festival, Z Delgado was super excited to go, and this time, she had someone who was equally excited to take her, someone whose favorite band was also playing tonight! Jack had also (annoyedly) asked Z IF she wanted to go to the music festival, maybe thinking that she'd beg him to take her or something, but he was really surprised when she said, 'no thank you' very cheerfully, and even more surprised, when Z told him that she was going with Sky. "That ROBOT?" Jack had asked her, and Z had felt oddly hurt at his insult, and had defended Sky by telling Jack that at least he took a little interest. In her own mind, though, Z felt like laughing, Jack was feeling jealous. Sky was quite a hottie, though, anyone would be!

When he finally showed up at her door that night, Syd almost got a heart attack, "Sky?"

"Hey Syd" Sky smirked, "Z Ready?" He asked

"What are you? Her boyfriend? Wait do you guys have a DATE? How do I not know about this?" Syd asked, interrogated, rather, "Where are you taking her? Or better question, HOW ON EARTH DID SHE SAY YES?"

"We're going to the Music Festival Syd" Z said, coming up from behind, wearing a black jeans, and a black top with yellow stripes down the front, and a choker, and a pair of hoop earrings, "remember I told you this morning?"

"WHEN?" Syd continued to interrogate, suspicious of everything, "I'd rather not say" Z said, trying to contain a chuckle.

"When did you say it?" Syd demanded, "It's embarrassing" Z warned, while Sky watched the drama with interest,

"When you were waxing your girl-stache" Z said, chuckling, and Syd gasped, as if Z had said something unthinkable, and she looked at Z, her eyes daggers, and Sky? He looked from one woman to the other, and then burst out laughing so hard, that he had to steady himself against a wall, but still continued to guffaw.

"Z!" Syd said, following her name by a string of unspeakable words, starting from "you-," and ending with, "it was our secret!"

Z chuckled, immensely proud her herself, "you asked for it. That's why you SHOULDN'T butt into people's personal lives. Sky and I are just going to the music festival. Nothing else. Now if you'd excuse me" Z went in, still chuckling, to get her camera.

"You…. have…. A…. girl…. Stache?" Sky asked, amidst his laughs, and then continued to laugh, who knew Sydney Drew's little closet secrets? These were things only her roommate could get out into the public. Syd, whose face had turned redder than Jack's uniform, said, defensively, "it's peach fuzz! And it's C-U-T-E!"

"Then why did you WAX it?" Sky said, tears coming into his eyes from the uncontrolled laughter.

"BOYS!" Syd raised her arms, giving up, and went back into the room, mumbling something with gritted teeth, about Z being a disgrace to the feminine species, and disrespecting the girl code.

"Hey!" Z popped back, "quite a scene no?" she asked, grinning, and Sky, finally able to steady himself, agreed.

"You don't think of this as an actual date, so you?" Sky asked Z as they headed out of the academy,

"Of course not, You're my buddy, plus, I'm a tomboy, a dude-bro" She said, "and I don't think a guy like you is into dude-bros"

"A guy like me? Meaning?"

"Golden boys, who live up on a cloud of awesomeness!" Z said, making a duck face, "and don't get me wrong, I ALSO share that cloud of awesomeness, only I'm not a golden girl… golden girls, are the ones who wax their mustaches" Z said, bursting into laughter again, taking Sky down with her.

It took them another few minutes to recover from that idea again, "You know, I kinda get what you're trying to say, but let me tell you this, I don't like people on status symbols. If I like a girl, even if she's a dude-bro, I'll tell her"

X-X-X

"JUST SOMETHING I CAN TURN TO, SOMEBODY I COULD KISS!" This time it was Sky's screechy voice, which echoed with the crowd's screams, as Andrew Taggart held the mike, and was barely audible.

Z just looked at Sky, amused, of course, she also sang once a while, but her main focus was her friend, who, though usually reserved, and self-contained, was screaming his favorite song. He seemed to have just let himself go, for some reason. It was an intriguing thing to watch, and compare the transformation.

Now, Z decided, it was her turn to take revenge for last time, just as the song Paris started,

"We were staying in Paris" Sky said, asking Z to continue the lyrics as a duet, "to get away from PARROTS!" Z said, fulfilling his wishes in a way he wasn't expecting.

"It's PARENTS!" Sky exclaimed, and this way, she continued twisting the song lyrics, until they came to the song Roses, one of Z's personal favorites.

In a way, she could relate Sky to it, "take it slow, but it's not typical" she sang musically, and Sky looked at her, surprised that she was singing the right lyrics, and that also so beautifully, "he already knows, that my love is fire"

And the two sang together, Sky being happy that she had cut the teasing out, but then Z said, "Shy in with my lovely gall" And Sky looked at her with eyes like daggers, "IT IS 'SAY YOU'LL NEVER LET ME GO!" he yelled, and Z giggled, pushing back a little in the crowd, so he couldn't pick her up again.

"Z!" Sky growled, mock angrily, but the effect of the snare was neutralized by that crazy grin, and he started following Z into the singing crowd, but this time, she skilfully dodged him, and then, not so skillfully, lost him.

And lost her own way.

It was about fifteen minutes later, that she realized Sky was nowhere around her, and that she was lost, amidst a whole crowd screaming the song 'Somebody'. Z didn't know if she should run, or scream or what to do. She had never been lost in the crowd before. What should she do?

She made her way, with a little trouble, out of the crowd, and to an area, where there were lesser people, and the food stalls were around. Where was Sky?

She decided she wasn't a six year old child, who was lost, she was a twenty year old 'woman' or at least, 'young woman' and she could handle herself, and then Z decided to call Sky on his morpher.

"Hello?" she spoke, when he finally picked up, "Sky?"

"Z!" he sounded very relieved, "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?"

"Somewhere…. I think I'm lost"

"What? I can't hear you!" He said, "what are you saying?"

"I'm saying that I'm lost"

"What are you saying Z? I can't hear you!"

Z was getting frustrated, "are you playing with me?" she asked, irritated, "Z? You still here?" he asked, and then started chanting, "Z? Z? Z? Z? Z? Z?"

She started walking around, realising there was a network problem, "CAN YOU HEAR ME?" she asked, yelling'

"No need to yell Z! I can hear you now" he said, acting as if she was overreacting.

"I could hear you all along!"

"What did you do?" he asked, "like how can I hear you now?"
"I started walking, I think I'm in an area with better network coverage." Z explained.

"Okay, then STAY in that area, don't LEAVE it" Sky commanded, and Z agreed, "I'm coming to find you"

"Okayy"

"WHAT?" Sky asked, apparently having lost her again, Z realized this and started walking back and "THERE'S NO NEED TO SHOUT SKY!" Z said, annoyed,

"WHAT DID I TELL YOU? STAY IN THE NETWORK AREA!"

"I STILL AM in the network area!" Z protested, "Why can't you hear me?"

"I DON'T KNOW!" he replied.

"STOP SHOUTING YOU IDIOT!"

Sky meanwhile, still somewhere in the crowd, couldn't hear Z, AGAIN, and he rolled his eyes, "ELIZABETH?" He shouted so loudly, that it made everyone around him atre at him awkwardly, "no clowns here people, no show. Nothing to see here" He said, irately, and then went back to the phone where Z's voice was crying out, "YOU HERE SKY?"

"Yes!" Sky said, annoyed, "WHAT…. DID…. I…. TELL…. YOU!" He said, slowly, annoyed, and with force, "do not leave the network region!"

Z couldn't help it, but at his tone, she just burst out laughing, "I AM in the coverage area Sky! My phone is showing four bars!" Z protested, amidst her chuckles, Sky was either trying to be idiotic on purpose, or he was just being plain stupid, both situations making her laugh, "check yours!"

"Don't move from that spot okay?"

"Sky, I am ROOTED to my spot. Okay?" Z said, grinning, and Sky said, "Z? I cannot hear you! WHAT DID I TELL YOU DO NOT MOVE!"

"I'm not moving Sky, YOU are!" Z yelled back, and it got through to him, "oh!" he said, suddenly understanding it all.

He stood on one spot then, holding steady, trying to stay in the network coverage zone, as the crowd kept pushing her around this way and that, trying to hold his ground, against the wave of crowd, Drew Taggart had started crowd surfing, and Sky didn't know what to do.

"Text me a landmark, I'll see you there!" Sky said, and in two seconds, Sky got a text, saying that she was there by a balloon stand where they were selling giant Mickey Mouse balloons.

Sky looked up and around, and easily found about fifteen Mickey Mouse balloons watching over the crowds, and tried to make his way within the crowds to the place.

Finally, after the separation of over thirty minutes, Sky Tate caught sight of Z Delgado. She wasn't looking at him, rather, she was looking FOR him, amidst the crowd, but true to her word, she was rooted to the spot, not moving an inch, in case he decided to call again.

"Z!" He cried out, and she turned, instantly seeing him, and her face lit up. She ran to him like a kid who had been separated from her mama, and then he came up to her, and hugged her so hard, he lifted her off her feet, "put me down Sk-" she began to say, but then decided against it, liking the way he was able to hold her off the ground.

Then, finally, like a 'gentleman' put her down, and grinned, "Found you" He said, nonchalantly.

"Oh, Yeah, you did" Z said, sarcastically, "what? I did!"
"You couldn't have if I hadn't pointed out that YOU were the one who kept moving out of the net coverage area" Z said proudly, "and talking about that" she started beating on his chest a little softly, though, daftly, "YOU… ARE… SUCH…. AN…. IDIOT!" she said, and then both of them ended up laughing and collapsing into each other.

"Call me an idiot again, and I'll-" He trailed off, and she knew it was an empty threat, "what will you do Sky?" She provoked, playfully, "what will you do?" she repeated, even more playfully, punching him in his shoulder.

He looked at her blankly, and she knew this was the calm before the storm, and she was so right! The next moment, Sky's fingers were under her armpits, tickling her into oblivion. She laughed, and laughed, and cried for him to stop, but he mercilessly continued his brutal assault. He continued that until a few minutes later he and Z were both curled up in a ball on the floor of the grounds with quite a few people watching as he tickled her senseless.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry" he coughed out amidst the laughter, and finally, he stopped, enjoying the sight before him.

"I HATE you" she said, and he grinned, "I hate you too" he replied with his goofy grin.

Then the two finally took notice of the spectators, and Sky chuckled, "thank you, ladies and gentlemen, we'll be taking our leave now" and then with mock courtesy, Sky and Z rushed out of the place.

Cotton candy in hand this time, both of them now decided to head out of the park, the Chainsmokers were done, and the concert had been great fun, despite the little network coverage mess-up.

"So, Mr Guide, where are you taking me today?" Z asked, playfully intrigued.

Sky made a pensive thinking place, as if wondering what would be the best location for his escort.

"Okay, so how about we walk down to Rotterdam Park?" he suggested, and Z grinned, "your choice, it's my first time in this City. You're the one showing me around" she joked, of course it wasn't her first time. She had lived in this city all her life.

"What's in Rotterdam Park?" Z asked her tour guide.

"Well, it's so old that it outdates the city by over three decades." Sky explained, "the city was established in the early 2000s right? This park was inaugurated in 1968."

"What?" Z's eyes flew wide open, surprised, and amused by this new piece of info, "that's CRAZY! Did they make the park in the middle of a desert?"

"Maybe," Sky wriggled his eyebrows, "I don't know…. I was about minus thirty seven years old then" he joked, earning a chuckle from his friend.

"Anything special about the park except the fact that it's about the ages of our grandparents?"

"I think it was made for them only, you know? There was a small town about six miles from here, it was called 'Battery City' and well, it was such a small town, that they say it all fit within a radius of twenty miles, and had a population of less than ten thousand." Z looked at him incredulously, "like a battery?"

"Maybe" he said, making a funny expression; they were at the park by now, "So, anyway, the people there chose this location back then for the park, and some of the swings in here are THAT old! And you know the part of the called Old NewTech?" Z nodded, "that's nothing but what remains of battery city, it was integrated, much to the disappointment of the people who lived there, into the new Cosmopolitan City, aka our NewTech."

"You know, I should contain you right now" Z said, suddenly getting serious… fake serious.

"Whyy what happened?" he asked, wondering if he had said something inappropriate.

"Cuz you just blasted me with History. And we all know blasting someone is a crime" She said, with such a mock police-y voice, that Sky couldn't help but burst into laughter,

"Well, I am guilty as charged" he smirked, "my daddy used to blast me with history whenever we used to leave the house, and when we came back, he'd ask me to write it all in my diary, so that i don't forget, and guess what? I still haven't" he said, proudly, and Z patted his shoulder, happy that the mention of his father hadn't brought tears to his eyes. But she knew he was trying to hold them back.

She decided to change the topic of conversation, "Those SLIDES! She suddenly yelled, pointing at said slides, which were all twisted this way and that, and freakishly large for such an old park, and she gabbed Sky's hand, and dragged him with her, to the slides, "wow!" she marveled at the designs.

"You think we can ride on them?" Z asked Sky,

"Only one way to find out!" Sky said grinning mischievously, and ran, Z realized what he was doing, and ran after him, laughing along the way, as the two oversized children climbed the ladders to the park slides, and then from the top, gazed out, at the view, hoping that the 1968 slide could take both their weights and not collapse, and thankfully, it didn't, and so the blue and yellow rangers decided to slide down the slide, and with a large ''WHEEEEEEEEE'' sound, they crashlanded on the bottom of the slide, after a dizzying round and round and round and round journey, on top of each other in a dogpile, and burst into laughter.

"That was AWESOME!" Z said, and Sky, even more mischievously suggested, "Wanna try AGAIN?"

"DO I?" she asked sarcastically, her answer clear by the cheery laugh that followed.

A/N: So? how was it?
