Chapter 15th

Colonel James Reeves was sitting up in the sickbay alcove trying to relax with his right leg throbbing. Though the medication hasn't kicked in as yet with his leg.

There was a knock on the door that was semi opened. Commander Rosemarie Crane asked on whether it was alright to come in.

"Please do come in Rosemarie. I would of thought that you will be seeing to your husband having been found?" He had to say as if he was trying to push her away.

"My husband and I are done after 11 years of marriage. I came to see how you're doing and to thank you for helping out with the search. However if you don't want me here, I will then leave to head back to my quarters?"

"Rosemarie please stay. I am just pissed off that I had to be caught dead to rights by the Chinese sniper. I am just glad the Seaview crew was able to rescue the hostages. Thankfully they weren't hurt by the terrorists. However I will still like to know just where the terrorists were going to take the hostages off the island?"

"Admiral Nelson is checking into it now with sending a reply to ONI." She stated with the Intel.

"I understand Captain Lee Crane use to do assignments for ONI?" He wanted to asked to get to know her better.

"Yes. Though it gave it up to be a full time Captain to the Seaview and his boss Admiral Harriett Nelson. I had no say in the matter of fact. Actually I hardly had any say in most of his decisions on the Seaview and included shore missions over the years with the last time having been abducted that is long story. I will tell you another time." She came over to sit on the edge of the bunk to kiss him and with feeling behind it. "By the way Merry Christmas. Even though my two boys is with Admiral Nelson's wife and my sister Elizabeth sharing time with the both two boys."

"Thank you. Merry Christmas as well. When we get back maybe I will be able to buy you something special for the holiday." He kissed her back with emotion.

She was able to his distress in his face. "What's wrong besides having been shot?" She touched his face with a gentle touch.

"Did I mention that after 20 years in the marines that I was planning and still do it with retiring and to get into the corporate field like my father John had done?"

She says the following..."You told me about retiring. But never mention your father John. Another time we will talk about everything James as with this child I am carrying. I don't plan to hold you to be involved if you don't want to?" She replied about the unborn child she is carrying.

"I have no problem with it Rosemarie as with meeting your two boys. I would very much like to much them when time allows. I will be having a briefing with my regional boss in charge before the paperwork is put through. Do you think that your husband is going to give you a problem with the divorce?"

"He knows that I am tired of being in this marriage and having to be a toy to him and not letting me to express my views and my work that is very important to me. However now that he's going to take up Admiral Nelsons offer to take over the Institute. He will be alone and I don't really care. Though we will talk about joint custody twice a month with the two boys."

"I guess what really works Rosemarie." He said with feeling sleepy all of a sudden with Rosemarie getting the message.

"I will leave you to your sleep now. I have to send a message to Houston, Texas about a project of mine with the new changes in the designs. I will as well talk to you another time about the project. One thing for sure I don't have to worry about money to live on. Anyway I need to go now." She bent down to kiss him...

Moments later he fell asleep with the medication taking effect...

After some time. Captain Lee Crane was removed from the operating room to the ICU section to have the corpsman to keep an eye out on the patient had been repaired with the damage to the shoulder and the bullet in his right leg had been removed.

However Doctor Anthony Sterling with the experience using a laser was able to break up the splinter on his side and then using the scalpel to take out the rest of the splinter without causing further damage with his ribs and breathing.

A breathing mask was placed over his face to be needing with his breathing.

Meanwhile Doctor Jamieson scrubbing again with cleaning his hands. He changed his clothing back into his uniform to see Admiral Nelson now back into his cabin...

Nelson was changing his uniform shirt and with washing his face. He was angry with the way Captain Lee Crane with going on his own to find the sniper only to be shot. And then there is Rosemarie with her decision to leave Lee and with the divorce.

He had known that there was problems in their marriage the past year or so...There was a knock on his cabin door. "Come." He said with seeing Doctor Jamieson walked into the cabin hopefully with good news.

"Lee has been moved to ICU Harriman and he should recover in a few weeks with physical therapy with his shoulder and right leg. However there is an issue with the splinter on whether or not the small splinter had been completely removed to cause further issue with his breathing. We will know within the next few days."

"And what about his mental state?" Nelson asked...

"Now that is another matter at this time Harriman. I can't tell you what is going to happen when he's up and around." He said strongly...
