Kim Possible: Vamped

"I'm never going to see Amy again," Dana wept as Kim held her when the lift stopped, and a pulley dragged them into a chamber that opened only on approach before it dropped the cable, and a wench retracted the lines leaving the wall to close and seal them in a huge room filled with those armed agents that had followed them.

"We'll see her, Dana. Don't give up hope. After all…."

"Anything is possible… For a Possible," a stern, unyielding woman in blue with a patch over one eye marched into the wide chamber just then to announce that. "Right, Kimberly," Dr. Betty Director asked the currently brown-haired woman that glared at her from the cage.

"Dr. Director," she snarled at the woman.

"You're….Kim Possible," Dana asked, staring at her in renewed awe.

"I was," Kim said somberly, putting herself between Dana and the woman now, ready for anything.

Betty didn't miss the move, and her good eye narrowed before she nodded as she made a covert gesture at the men as she stepped even closer. Well within reach of the women in the cage.

"You used to trust me, Kimberly. I'm asking you to trust me now," Dr. Director told her.

"This is how you invite trust," Kim spat, gesturing around her.

"You've been difficult to find," she demurred. "Only Wade is quite clever, too, as you know. He finally put the pieces together without even knowing what you two faced out in Europe."

"Kim…."

"Be patient, Dana. Let's see what they intend," Kim told her.

"Wade thinks he can devise a cure, Kimberly. If you are patient. If you are willing. Will you give us a chance to try?"

"I'm guessing I know the other choice if things don't work out," Kim asked curtly.

"The other choice," Wade said in a strong voice that belied his own uneasiness as he himself walked out next, holding a small case. "Is we test a synthetic blood serum I've devised that you may be able to use to sate your thirst without killing. At least until we do know one way or the other if you can be treated. You once trusted me, too, Kim. Will you trust me now? I really am here to help. We all are," he assured her.

"Wade, she sighed, and slowly nodded. "All right. We'll listen. If you let us out of this torturer's box," she snapped.

"Only it doesn't seem to be bothering you, does it," Dr. Director remarked pointedly.

"It hurts Dana. She's still young. She's not as strong….."

"We noticed," Ron said as he entered next, Yori behind him wearing her full uniform.

"Yori? You, too?"

"Hai, Possible-San," she said as she lowered her mask. "It is our honor to try to help save our world's greatest hero."

"All right. We'll cooperate. If you let us out," Kim told them as Dana only moaned.

"We'll let you out if you promise not to try to escape," Betty told her. "Word of honor. I'm given to understand even your kind have to honor such vows."

"My kind," Kim snapped irritably. I'm still human, woman," she spat. "Just another kind of human. Still, so long as you are truly trying to help we will not try to escape. That is my vow."

A guard reluctantly came forward at Betty's gesture and opened the cage door before moving quickly back as Kim eyed him. She lifted Dana carefully and moved quickly out of the cage, the young blonde sighing in genuine relief as she sagged instantly in relief in Kim's arms once away from the silver bars.

"You said you had a blood substitute," Kim turned to a very visibly nervous Wade.

"Yes. I began work on it from the start when I realized this was obviously a blood-based virus, and I would need to cultivate…."

"Yes, or no, boy," Kim spat irritably. "Dana needs nourishment now."

"And you?"

"I fed more recently," she smiled at Ron. "Dare I hope you sent someone to our apartment and retrieved our stash?"

"We found your stolen blood," Betty nodded. "That was our fallback. We dosed it with enough tranqs to knock out an elephant in case you eluded us. Fortunately, that wasn't necessary."

"What a waste," Kim said, rolling her eyes as Wade daringly stepped forward, kneeling to open his bag to pull out a plastic flask filled with thick, red liquid.

"Try this," Wade told her quietly.

With one hand, the other still cradling Dana, Kim bit off the stopper, spat it out, and sniffed. She then took a shallow sip and smiled, licking her lips.

"Not bad, Wade," she smiled more warmly now. "It even has that bite I enjoy," she said cryptically and put the flask to Dana's lips. "Drink, sweetie. It's good. It'll help you."

"I used a protein base, guessing you needed it from the obvious hunger that was likely based on a borderline iron and protein deficiency from my initial theories based on the stories…."

"Whatever works, Wade," Kim nodded as Dana gulped greedily from the flask until she emptied it.

"I feh…..feel better, Kim. Much better," she said, staying in Kim's embrace as the strangers watched them both.

"You changed her, didn't you," Will came forward only then, his voice still familiar under that mask he wore. "That is why she stays close."

"She's a friend, jerk," she spat at him. "I saved her life when the cops would have let her die. So piss off, errand boy."

"Calm down, Kim. We really are here to help," Ron told her.

"And if you do try to escape we have UV lights in the fixtures ready to burn you both to ash," Will pointed out.

"Trust," Kim glared at Betty.

"Last resort," Betty told her. "We had no idea how….cognizant you were, Kimberly."

"I thought you were dead," Ron said quietly now, stepping closer. "I mourned you."

"I almost died. Turned out the drive to live was stronger than even I expected," Kim told him quietly.

"This is expected and we are glad you did not die. For now, we have a chance to save you, Possible-San. Please, for your own sake, give us this chance," Yori told her.

"I said I would, Yori. I trust you guys. Him," she shot, eyeing Will, "Not so much."

"Well," Ron sighed. "It sure still sounds like her."

"I don't recall such….animosity."

"Then you never listened," Betty Director was told by Ron.

"I suspect Kim's experiences have…sharpened her ire," Wade cut in. "Now, Kim, I want to get started right away. So, I want hair, blood, and tissue samples from both of you. I'll be working right here so if you need me all you have to do is call. I also have plenty of that synthetic blood mixed, so if you get hungry just ask," he told her as he pulled out a small medical kit and opened a portable tray he began to lay out devices and vials on.

"One second, Wade. On your honor, no one else gets our blood. No one gets our DNA. I won't risk someone making real monsters," Kim told him.

"It's going nowhere but my lab, Kim. I swear. No one else will get or even see anything. This is all for me. Or you. I promise. I'll be destroying all samples once my work is done, too. Is that good enough?"

Kim nodded after she looked to Dr. Director who also nodded, and she only then held out an arm as Dana sat up now and eyed the empty flask she now held.

"This is really…synthetic?"

"Yes," Wade nodded at her as he worked.

"It tasted….so real," she said quietly eyeing Kim.

"Wade rocks, Dana. If he can't do something, it can't be done. I guess I should have come and seen you sooner," she smiled ruefully now as he began to draw blood from her after taking a few skin scrapings, and nails before he pulled out tweezers to take some hair.

"If you had," Dana said, "Amy and I might have died."

"Amy," Betty asked. "Is she another…?"

"No," Kim shot before Dr. Director could finish. "She's Dana's girlfriend."

"And she isn't…."

"No. And if you can help us, maybe Dana can see Amy again without worrying about endangering her."

Dana smiled now.

"That would be great," she said as the dark-skinned teen began to take samples from her now.

"Meanwhile, we need to debrief. Fully," Betty told Kim. "We need to know all you learned and experienced while….captive of that other….creature. It might help us in….other operations. And it might help you. Agreed?"

"I can see that. I did learn a few things that surprised me from Hagraat."

"Hagraat?"

"The very old misogynist that I later realized was trying to make me his bride when we met," the disguised redhead told Ron.

"You," Ron sputtered. "Wow, was he barking up the wrong…."

"Ron," Kim sputtered.

"I guess that vampire guy didn't know you were gay," Dana smiled as Kim blushed.

"Neither did they," Kim muttered as Will snorted his disdain.

"Oh… Oh, I'm sorry, Kim."

"It hardly matters. Now," Kim said.

"No one will say anything," Betty assured her. "But tell me one thing, why didn't that silver cage hurt you?"

"Noticed that did you? Well, you are clever," Kim said. "I figure it was just another part of my screwed-up metabolism that interacted from the start with whatever Hagraat did to me. Not that I'm complaining. I have enough issues with this….blight," Kim declared.

Which was when Kim cringed and seemed to shrink before them as Wade worked on Dana.

"Kim," Wade asked as Betty eyed her closely.

"The sun is….rising," Kim hissed and turned away from them.

"What….? You can feel it even down here," Betty asked her.

Then Kim looked up again and everyone there truly gaped.

"I can feel it," the seemingly normal Kim Possible said as she stood there looking normal, human, and betraying none of her former vampiric traits.

"Now that's impossible," someone sputtered.

"That's how you eluded detection so long," Betty realized. "You can shift."

"Only at sunrise, or sunset," Kim said. "As I said, I have a few issues."

"I need new samples," Wade declared, pulling out his sample kit again just when he started to pack it up.

"Kimmmmmm," Dana moaned, sliding to the ground. "Tir't…"

"She doesn't change," Ron asked.

"No. She needs a bed."

"Not a coffin," Will quipped.

"First, a bed," Kim spat, her green eyes flashing indignantly. "Second, get him out of here and keep him away from us."

"You're not in…."

"Du, stand down. Go and oversee the preparation of secondary quarters. We'll move them once we have Wade's samples," Dr. Director stated.

"For the record, that's a mistake."

"For the record," Kim snapped, a foot flashing out with preternatural speed to slam into his gut and propelling him across the room without disturbing Wade's IV, "No one cares."

"Kimberly," Betty asked. "Don't damage my agents."

"My bad. I'm rusty," Kim smiled. "Haven't sparred in months. Maybe he could help me practice," she asked maliciously.

"I think that would be a really bad idea," Ron said as Wade finished taking his new samples by then.

"Yes," Betty agreed. "Still, Ronald, perhaps you and Yori might….test our friend. Just to determine how this shift influences her during the day or night hours."

"Spankin'," Kim suddenly grinned and turned to lift Dana with ease after Wade removed the last IV. "Now, bed. Oh, and food. I'm always hungry after I change. You know, for real food."

"Interesting," Betty murmured as she noted Kim's behavior. "All right, follow me," she said. "We arranged special detention, obviously, but you can both share the cell for mutual convenience for now."

"Just get rid of that damn cage," Kim spat as she carried Dana after the woman, Wade, Ron, and Yori behind her. "That was unnecessarily cruel."

"And if you had been a true monster," Betty asked.

"Then I'd have probably killed all your men by now," Kim smiled with a chilling smile. "Starting with Du."

Betty said nothing to that.
