Stan and Eda had played their poker game. Eda decided not to use her magic to cheat as she wanted to see just how great that human man was at this game and get a look at his abilities. She was very shocked when he had won all the chips on the table!
"I win!" Stan laughed, grabbing all the chips for himself. "Tough luck, lady!"
"Whoa now! How did you do that?!" Eda questioned.
"It's like I always say lady, a good gambler never reveals his secrets," Stan smirked, flipping a chip in his hand.
A small smile spread across Eda's lips. She was certainly impressed by this human's abilities to cheat. He was so much like her and she didn't want to admit it, but her feelings for him kept growing. So much so that a sly idea came to her head….
"You know, Stanley, I like you," Eda smirked, walking slowly around him. "So how about we form some kind of partnership and rob this casino blind? I happen to be a master cheater and criminal like you."
"Me? Work with you?" Stan paused in his chip flipping and chuckled. "No offense, Marilyn, but why would I wanna work with a lady that couldn't even beat me?"
"Oh yeah?" Eda smirked. "Just watch me and you'll consider it for sure."
Stan raised an eyebrow as he watched as Eda slowly strutted down to an empty poker table. She whistled loudly to the other male players in the casino and they all paused to stare at her.
"Oh boys, I challenge you all to a poker match!" Eda announced, smirking. "Think you can take me on?"
The men all laughed like Eda was crazy.
"Did that lady just challenge us to a poker match?"
"Oh defeating her will be a piece of cake!" One man pounded his fists together in confidence.
They all crowded around Eda and they started the match, but eventually the men, and especially Stan, who had been watching the match curiously, were all taken by surprise. Eda had defeated every single person that challenged her!
She walked up to Stan, whose mouth was hanging wide open, with a huge bag of poker chips, smiling.
"So Stanley…" She dropped the bag of chips right in front of Stan. "What do you think of me now?"
"Lady, I don't know what to say…." Stan finally said, breaking to a smile. "But man do you have skills! Who needs poker matches, we could rob people and banks blind!"
"Rob banks and people? Hmmmm, that's just my style!" Eda smiled.
She extended her hand to Stanley. "You know, I like you Stan. I have to admit, you've… quite grown on me, so what do you say? I'm personally inviting you to my night of crime sprees! Wanna come?"
Stan beamed and shook Eda's hand back. "Marilyn, you've had me at robbing banks.
What happened from that night onward was a night of fun. Eda and Stan had a blast robbing banks, sneaking around and stealing stuff from people and breaking in stores for antiques and jewels. They were perfect partners in crime.
By the end of the night, they had a sack full of loot and they laughed together as they laid on the roof of Stan's car staring at the starry sky.
"You know, Stanley, you're quite an interesting man," Eda pointed out. "I've never met a fun human- I mean man like you!"
"Well, you're not so bad yourself Marilyn," Stan told her. "In fact you're just my kinda girl!"
Stan became excited just thinking about it. "You know Marilyn, before I met you, I didn't really think anyone was right for me, but then you came along! We both are con artists, love scamming people and we're master crooks and cheaters! Just imagine how great a future we would have together!"
Eda's face dropped as he said that. "Yeah together," her voice trailed off. As much as she actually started to love and care for this human man, Eda knew she couldn't stay here. She had a boling isles to get back to. Plus what if he found out that she was a witch? Eda bit her lip.
"You know Marliyn," Stan said, breaking Eda's trail of thoughts. "This might be a bit too early, but I don't think I can wait off any longer.."
Stan jumped off the car and got down on one knee. Then he very slowly pulled a small black box out of his pants. Eda gasped as she knew very well what this meant.
Back in the present, King gasped as he listened to Eda's tale as they continued driving off in Stan's car. "He proposed to you?!"
"Indeed he did."
"And you accepted it?!" King grew more interested in this story by the minute.
"Well yes, I did of course. I didn't want to hurt Stanley's feelings so I accepted his proposal, but I knew I deep in my heart we couldn't be together and that I belong in the boiling isles, so I had to come up with a plan to eventually escape from him and that's where I got the idea involving his car…."
Soos sobbed as Stan told the story. "Mr. Pines, that story is so beautiful! I can't believe you were married! Tell me more! I wanna know what happened between you two!"
"Pipe down, Soos! I'll tell you! I'll tell you!"
As Soos and Stan continued to chase after Eda and Stan's car in Soos' truck, Stan took a deep breath and he recalled, "The day I met Marilyn was the best day of my life. I knew she was the exact person for me so of course I had to propose to her and she accepted!"
Stan smiled at the memory but frowned. "But soon, and I don't know what happened, but a little while after we were married, Marliyn started to drift apart from me…."
