Kim Possible: Vamped

Shego and Dana paused in their conversation when they heard the Roth landing outside, its distinctive turbines whining shrilly as it descended. She only groaned as she eyed Dana who was only then finishing her meal as she headed for the door.
"She knows she isn't supposed to fly into this neighborhood," she complained as Shego got up to head for the door as Dana rose from the table to follow.
Even as Shego opened the front door, Kim jumped out of her car now parked beside Shego's sportier coupe and declared, "We've got trouble."
"Can you ever not say that without looking eager," Shego complained. "What now?"
"Two wolf packs in the same territory and some campers got dragged into the argument. I have to go see if I can get them out before they play the part of a bone in a tug-of-war between the packs."
"Great. So you're going to be late," Shego asked as Kim ran into the house to head for her room.
"I'm going to be late. Apologize to Monique for me when she gets here," Kim shouted, disappearing into her room to change to mission clothes. "And make sure Dana gets her weekly blood…."
"I'm right here, and I know, mom," Dana told her as Kim came out, dressed, and ready to fight. "Just be careful, and….don't take chances," she said quietly.
"Don't worry, sweetie. I'll be back."
"Do you have any backup," Shego asked.
"Just an evac team that will be waiting on the civilians. My hope is I can sneak them out, and then confront the leaders, and hammer a few heads together. If not…I guess I'll just wing it."
Shego groaned.
"How did you last this long," Shego asked, shaking her head at the redhead checking her pockets for essential gear.
"We'll talk about that later. Keep an eye on Dana. Gotta jet," she said and ran back for the Roth.
"She'll be fine," Shego told the blonde as she turned to see Dana staring out the door at the departing car that ascended vertically and took off in a burst of speed that left a rattling thunder behind its wake.
With more than a few neighbors looking disapprovingly on.
"It's just…two packs? We only faced three of them once. And they can be tough."
"I don't think you realize how tough Kimmie can be when she lets herself go, kiddo. I'd never tell her that, but she's probably better than I was in my prime," the comet-powered woman said somberly.
"I just want her to be safe. I owe her so much, and…."
"Yeah. I doubt she realizes how many people love her. She's too busy running off to help the next person out there."
"Are you going to call Monique and tell her supper is canceled?"
"We'll wait. You never know, Princess might pull off another miracle and get back early."
"She didn't say anything about mom, either," Dana murmured.
"She was probably too busy planning her mission," Shego admitted. "Give her time to get back and unwind. I'm sure she'll tell you everything then."
"I just hope mom didn't give her any trouble."
"Kimmie?"
"Well, she might get in trouble if she lost her temper and broke mom's ribs," Dana blushed. "I guess it's probably wrong of me to hope she did," she added a moment later.
Shego couldn't help but burst into laughter at that.

"I'm coming in on stealth and landing just south of the encroaching pack's lair. Fyne," she addressed the agent already on the scene but holding back at her orders. "Get ready to lend support if I can get the civilians out of there. If necessary, be ready to fight if they pursue them. I'll try to be quiet, but we are talking about wolves with better senses than anyone alive out there."
"I understand. Just stay in touch."
"Right. I'm on the ground," she said, climbing out of the Roth. "Give me ten, and if I don't report, expect a fight."
"Strike Team Tango is standing by, Possible. It's your show."
Kim didn't say anything. She was already moving through the stark forest around her like a blur in the twilight of the coming night.
Using her own senses, she was hoping the wolves' own ego would keep them blind to her until too late. She came into a small clearing and saw five bound bodies lying around a small, fluttering fire. There was no sign of any wolves.
Obviously bait.
Circling the clearing, she kept her own senses sharp as she found no sign of the encroaching wolves. She inched forward and froze the moment she put a foot down and realized the ground felt wrong.
"Aren't you clever," she murmured soundlessly and leaped over the pit dug in a wide circle around the captives.
She reached the first of the campers, put a finger to her lips, and quickly sliced the bonds holding them with sharp nails hidden since the man's hand and feet were bound behind him in a standard hogtie. Quickly freeing the others, she told them in a low whisper, "I'll carry you over the pit, and you run due south. I have friends waiting to get you out."
"There are monsters…."
"I'll run interference. Don't worry," she told one of the women that were obviously terrified. "Once I get you over the pit out there, you just run, and keep running until you reach my friends."
"How will we know…?"
"You'll know. They're all GJ agents," the man was told. "Now be quiet, and get ready to run," she said, and led them to the edge of the wide pit-trap, and then jumped over carrying them one-by-one to get them to safety.
"How are you so strong….?"
"Later. Run. Fast," she hissed and stood there watching as they did just that.
"Fyne, five civilians running your way now. They weren't harmed, and the poachers don't seem to be here. I think they're trying to sneak up on Dobbins' pack after leaving the civilians to bait a trap. I'm heading over there now."
"We'll move to intercept the friendlies. Call us if you need us," the team leader told her.
"No problem. I hope."
"And I used to complain loons like Dementor were bad," the man replied. "Okay, we're moving to intercept the civilians. Be careful."
"Without witnesses, I'm not the one that needs to worry now," Kim smirked and raced on through the forest to the pack she and Betty had arranged a truce with so long as they didn't hunt humans and stayed to their agreed-upon territory. They were living quietly, too. Until they called asking help with a new pack wanting their territory, and not abiding by the truce.
She reached Colby Dobbins' pack that was not yet under attack, but she sensed wolves in the trees around the small encampment of cabins now being built by the weres as they set roots in the area. She ignored the watchers, and just ran into the encampment, and called for Colby.
The burly, bearded man came out, and eyed her, remarking, "Lady Possible. You made very good time."
"You're surrounded, you know that."
"And that's why we called you, didn't we," a stocky woman came out of the cabin behind Colby. "We agreed to live peacefully, and we're trying. Only these bloody newbies are tearing and slashing their way across the land, and we don't need them giving us a bad name."
"I see that. We found the campers. They're safe."
"Good. That's good. The last thing we need is Mounties looking at us again. Darn troublesome they can be," the woman declared. "We're just wanting to raise our cubs in peace. Not raise any ruckus."
"I wish all wolves were so reasonable," Kim admitted. "So, how do you want to manage this, Colby? This is your territory, and it is your call. I'm just here to help."
"Well, I'll be honest. Even we heard you're in touch with Elders now. We were hoping you could show you're with us, and maybe quiet those noobes down. Or run them off if necessary."
"You don't want to have any of them joining you?"
"I won't lie, I have no trouble accepting any that want to come in and live by our laws and our truce. Only this lot seems to be living by blood and fang, the old way. And this world just ain't made for that way no longer, is it," Colby declared.
"No, it's not. Even the Elders know that. Okay, let me go out and find their leader and see if he has any sense at all. Just hold your ground, and give me time," Kim told the pair as others stood around, looking casual, but obviously on guard. "Hopefully I can settle this, and still make it home in time for supper."
"I think you're already late, woman," one of the nearby men smirked.
"Well, my house has irregular hours," she smiled, and then seemed to vanish as she moved, disappearing in a blur of speed as she went back out into the shadowy forest.
"Bloody hell, she's a right vamp for sure," a man declared.
"And that's why I listened and made a truce," Colby remarked. "If'n that gal has Elders watching her, you know there's a reason. Better a friend, than an enemy at such a time then."
"True," his mate smiled. "Second smartest decision you ever made."
No one asked what his first was. They all knew Becca, and none of them wanted to challenge her.
Kim slipped through the shadows, tracking even as she knew she was being tracked. She finally stopped under one tree and looked up.
"Well, come on down and let's talk. You won't like anything else."
"Maybe you won't, little leech," the growling voice from overhead filtered down.
"Like that, is it? You are new if you think you can take me."
"I've heard of you, Possible. I heard you died. Now you're a leech. That doesn't make me afraid of you," the speaker declared.
"How about the rest of you. You all want to die for this throwback. You could have come to the Alpha of this region and been welcomed. Only you want to fight? To risk lives? To risk exposure? That's pretty stupid. Both sides would see you dead first."
"Big talk for a leech on her own," the big wolf snarled as he dropped from the trees, towering over Kim's body as he bared slavering fangs. "Maybe I'll see if Kim Possible can die twice," the big brown wolf snarled.
Kim yawned.
Making the burly wereling snarl in rage and tense to attack.
Even as he lifted a splayed hand with exposed claws, Kim moved, giving a half jump even as she grabbed the wolf-man's throat, clenching and using her grip to lift and slam the big preternatural to the ground.
Dancing back, she glared at the creature, and demanded, "Yield."
"Never," he snarled. "Not to a vile leech!"
"Leech," a suddenly towering and winged Kim Possible snarled as she flashed her fangs. "I am Lady Kimbera, second only to the Council itself," she spat and grabbed the wolf's throat again as he tried to leap on her even as he recovered only to run right into that suddenly larger hand. "You think yourself a match to me, little pup?"
Kim felt the disdain rising in her, and then disgust as she felt the eyes on her as the wolf she held still tried to fight, slashing at her with its claws.
"Fool pup," Kimbera growled and snapped the furry neck in her hand.
Even as her arm dropped, her torn flesh was already healing, and she looked around the dark forest with cold, crimson eyes as she spat, "Well?"
Noises of furtive movement sounded around her, and nine lean wolves came out of the darkness to stand before her. Then as one, they dropped to all fours, and bowed, whimpering in submission.
"So, who is your new Alpha? I know you already have one."
"Me, Lady," a dark gray wolf spoke but did not look up at her. "Forgive us. We did not realize you were….you."
Kim snorted and shrank back to her own human form as she ignored the torn sleeve on her right arm.
"You heard what I told that fool," she declared, eyeing the stocky if chubby man that now lay sprawled before her after he had shifted back in death. "Now it is your turn. Will you listen to Alpha Colby, or will you leave his territory. You know you will cease to hunt humans whatever you choose?"
"Daryl said wolves ruled the night," one of the other wolves muttered. "He said we were kings."
"Daryl was an idiot. Do you think this is a film? Or some medieval fantasy world? You share the world with a lot of more powerful and more dangerous people, pup," Kim told her. "You will respect that fact, or you will die. I will tell you now, I don't give second chances. So decide," she demanded as she eyed the gray wolf.
"We will speak to the alpha if he will hear us."
"You'll find him more than ready to listen. Just not to threats," Kim added. "Now, before I take you to him, tell me why you took the campers hostage and set that trap?"
"We thought…. Daryl thought we could lure some of the area wolves out and distract them long enough to seize the old alpha and claim the territory as our own."
"So, he was an idiot as well as a throwback," Kim snorted. "Honestly, you and your pups will end up getting yourselves killed inside a year if you follow that kind of advice. I'll take you to Colby, and you will show him respect and accept his decision."
"We just…"
"Or I'll kill you all myself," Kim snarled, glaring at them in an intimidating fashion even if she looked human just then.
"We will listen," the gray wolf said and bowed again.
Kim snorted and turned to lead them toward the encampment.
