Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Chaotic Comrades. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Warhammer; Games worship and a few others do.
The first few Orks to meet Grissom met grizzly ends. Grissom gave them no mercy but the teeth of his Chainsword.
"They must pay…" Grissom hissed and stepped over their corpses. "They will pay…" Grissom growled out and looked in the sky.
There was more Kill Kroozers in the sky. They were far too high for him to make out more than their outline.
"The Orks will overrun this planet in years." Grissom stated to himself and continued forward. "By the time reinforcements arrive? There will be no taking this planet besides total extermination." Grissom stated and rubbed at his head.
Grissom knew to get to the War Chief? He'd need a way aboard the Hammer Battlekroozer that the War Chief took as his flagship.
But Grissom wanted a word with his superior officers, this campaign was a mix of terrible orders and even worse tactics.
"First the officers… Then the Orks." Grissom stated and started to continue forward. He knew for a fact that there was no taking one of the massive warships down alone.
"Do you even have a plan?" Grissom heard from Tzeentch. The Chaos God looked at the christened Chaos Marine. "Because what I give can be taken back." Tzeentch stated to the marine.
"I cannot accomplish anything without resources…" Grissom responded to the Chaos God. "Or soldiers, I am skilled at plans. I cannot conjure armies out of air itself." Grissom added before Tzeentch rolled his avian eyes.
"Soldiers are nothing more than a tool for victory…" Tzeentch said to Grissom. "Gather your brothers. I will deal with the Orks… I expect you to gather many of your brothers… Like the group over the hill." Tzeentch stated to Grissom.
Grissom could indeed hear the cries of battle which proved that Tzeentch was true.
"And the Ork fleet above?" Grissom questioned as Tzeentch rolled his eyes.
"Gather more soldiers for me… And then we will deal with the fleet… I've even start you off." Tzeentch stated while looking to the side. "Now, there is a Ork outpost up ahead with several of your brothers inside. Free them and make them join my group." Tzeentch ordered Grimsson.
There were several groans of pain as the wounded marines started to get back up. Tzeentch vanished as his servants crawled through the portal and into the next realm.
"Hmm…" Grissom stated as he walked forward. He decided to push returning to base for later. "I'll show them how stupid it was not to divide and conquer… Then I will confront my Captain." The former Centurion added with annoyance.
Grissom marched forward with a squad of resurrected Marines and a group of Tzeentch's Daemons. The first thing that had to fall was the outpost. He would need more men if he was to stand against the Orks anyway.
He cracked his neck, the conquest of Yaeger began now.
(10 minutes later)
Grissom hummed and looked upon the Ork base. He did not know the bloodthirsty scavengers to ever make a world their own.
Still? Despite the base being made out of scrap metal? Whoever commanded the base placed turrets in good positions. Anything lest then a skilled tactician would fall against such a base.
Grissom looked at the hulking tips of sharp metal that rose like the teeth of a great beast. He could also see several sentries milling about the permitter of the base. Their sentry guns looked ready to butcher any who infiltrated the base.
"I will give them credit." Grissom muttered to the group of warriors. "For mindless brutes? Their leader is quite cunning." Grissom muttered to himself and turned to his men.
He had been gifted a total of 8 Chaos Marines along with 5 of the 'Horrors' as he heard they had been named. They crackled at inane jokes and cartwheeled around the composed and serious marines.
"Then what do you suggest, Centurion?" One of the Marines questioned while Grissom looked over the hill.
"A frontal attack would only get us killed." Grissom muttered before drawing his bolter. "We take care of the turrets… Then we sneak inside the base." Grissom stated and began to give orders.
"3 of you will focus on the sentries with me." Grissom ordered before looking at the other 5. "The other 5 will deal with the turrets… The second those fall? We can deal with the base." Grissom stated before looking to the side.
"And what about ussssssss!?" One of the Horrors screeched, it made Grissom wince slightly. "WHAT FUN WILL WE HAVE!?" The horror yelled at such a volume it made Grissom wonder if the Orks were deaf.
"Do whatever you can to draw their attention." Grissom ordered before aiming his bolter.
He slid down the hill, knowing that his bulk would not aid him in being stealthy.
His plan relied solely on his men's ability to aim. If they managed to snipe the Ork gunners? Then they'd be able to easily storm the base. If not? Well, Grissom guessed that he wouldn't have to worry.
Grissom watched as the rest of his men aimed their Bolters. They could easily mow down the grunts, which was why Grissom didn't worry about them.
"Fire on my command." Grissom ordered before they heard a screech.
It was the Horror's, Tzeentch's minions cartwheeled and bounced down the hill. The Orks turned while Grissom let out a silent curse.
"FIRE!" Grissom ordered and thumbed the trigger several times. The bullets slammed into the turret wielding soldier.
He slumped forward. Grissom heard the sound of Bolters as his men shifted their aim towards the 3 other turrets.
They fired just as the turrets opened fire. Grissom and his men were forced to run forward. Grissom drew his blade and rushed forward.
Grissom watched one of the Sentries open fire on the Horror only to be hit with fire. It made the Ork screech, bubble and burn.
"What?" Grissom questioned as he blinked and looked at the Ork in shock. The Ork collapsed into a fit of screeches and giggles.
Grissom didn't have time to question what manner of hell had been bestowed on the Ork. He would put the monster out of its misery sooner or later.
He rolled under the swing of a Ork's blade before cutting the creature down. Grissom turned and elbowed the other Ork before grabbing it by the neck.
He ended the warrior's life with a simple twist of his hand. Grissom looked at the dead Ork with annoyance.
He heard a scream as one of his men was sent skidding backwards. The wounded marine landed next to him.
"They have reinforcements coming through the gate!" The marine shouted which made Grissom pause.
