Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Chaotic Comrades. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Warhammer; Games worship and a few others do.

Grissom was right about there being more Orks inbound. 20 or so entered the gates only to get caught in the sights of Chaos Marines.

The 2 that managed to get through were met with Grissom's Chainsword. He tossed the body of one into a pair of crates.

"Have you come up with an answer?" Grissom asked Bivitas as he placed his weapon to the side. "You stated that I betrayed the emperor. I cannot claim to care about someone I have never seen. I care about my brothers, thousands who are busy fighting for a planet… I care about brothers like you." Grissom stated and crossed his arms.

"Why choose to embrace the warp?" Bivitas questioned with a tone that convoyed no emotion.

Grissom raised an eyebrow under his helmet.

"I embrace whatever protects my brothers." Grissom stated, inclining his head slightly. "And if my brothers cannot be saved by our commanders? Then I will save them." Grissom added while he crossed his arms.

Bivitas slowly rose to his feet. He towered over Grissom who didn't move. The 2 super soldiers said nothing.

"If you wish to kill me?" Grissom questioned before spreading his arms. "Claim it. The Orks will take this world. You've seen their ruler's ability to counter our tactics. Do you really think we can save Yeager? Do I really speak heresy when the Orks rule 80% of this planet?" Grissom asked the soldier.

Grissom was starting to guess Bivitas and how he worked. The man was clearly of few words considering how every question held potent urgency.

"I wish to claim the head of the Ork who captured me." Bivitas stated and ripped his bonds apart. "You will help me claim said head… He slaughtered my brothers in cold blood." Bivitas added as Grissom hummed.

"That is what you desire?" Grissom asked Bivitas. A nod was his answer. "Then come, brother… We slay every Ork we find." Grissom put in as one of the marines walked in.

"There is another outpost close… More of our brothers and supplies are there." Grissom heard from the marine.

"Hmm…" Grissom muttered to himself. "It seems we have much to do. Did you procure another Thunderhawk?" Grissom asked as another plan began to form in his mind.

"Only 1 more, it seems we are in luck…. There are 2 Techmarines who can pilot them." The marine stated as Grissom hummed.

"Then we divide…" Grissom stated to the soldier and turned to the side. "Load up one of the Thunderhawks. We will rip through their forces at the next outpost… When we have enough of our brothers? We storm their flagship. I suspect the Orks will collapse without their leader." Grissom ordered the soldier.

Grissom watched as Bivitas brushed past him. The marine turned to Grissom who showed little concern for the hulking brute of a marine.

"Do you really intend to fulfill his request?" The marine questioned as Grissom turned to his subordinate.

"I intend to rip through the Orks." Grissom stated and crossed his arms. "And bring as many of our brothers under our banner as possible. I will grant his request if it saves him from the corruption of the emperor." Grissom added and walked away.

He would need dozens of his brothers if he intended to free this planet. Alone? Even for all his skill? Grissom was alone without his reinforcements.

"You are aware they will not spare you when they discover you are tainted." Grissom heard from the marine which made him chuckle.

"I believe by then… We will no longer have to worry." Grissom stated as he looked at the sky.

The sight of drop pods finally broke the illusion of defeat over Grissom.

(10 minutes later)

Grissom had left Bivitas and a squad of his men to ride towards the next base. Grissom fully planned on assaulting the Ork flagship which would hopefully end the siege of Yeager.

"Prepare for combat, brothers." Grissom stated and ran a hand over his bolter. "Spare no Ork. They must be destroyed and driven from this world." Grissom added and cracked his neck.

Grissom knew for a fact that the Thunderhawk would be his greatest asset. The Orks didn't bring massive air support to Yeager. That gave him the advantage.

Still? From a previous transmission he heard before his last attack as a member of the Imperium? The Orks had a larger fleet then the Imperium.

"We're coming up on their base!" The pilot stated which made Grissom hum.

Grissom cracked his knuckles and looked to the side. They were coming out swinging. He knew, and so did his brothers. Grissom had endured over a century of warfare… And yet not once was he used to anything he saw on the battlefield.

"We're coming out swinging." Grissom added while closing his eyes.

The craft slowed to a stop. The Orks didn't seem to be prepared for if a dropship landed in front of their base.

The ramp hissed open, the Chaos Marines charged out, their bolters singing out into the quiet air.

Grissom cut down an Ork, ripping through the brute before charging ahead. Grissom watched Ork after Ork fall. He led his brothers forward.

If the Orks were prepared for this attack? They were not showing it. They retreated inwards while the Thunderhawk lifted off and into the air.

Grissom watched as the Thunderhawk zoomed around. Grissom wanted the craft to barrage the base while he and his brothers dealt with the soldiers on the ground.

Grissom punched through the metal. He and his brothers stated to scale up on the base. Grissom hummed and continued to scale the metal.

It crunched under his armored body as he and his brothers continued to climb up and into the base.

He dropped down in front of an Ork before punching the creature to the ground. Grissom trod forward, killing the Ork underfoot as he and his men climbed into the base.

"Continue to open fire." Grissom stated while he and his brothers rushed forward.

It was then he heard it. The subtle click of a turret. Grissom looked up in time to see the Ork behind it smile.

"Turret!" Grissom roared and dove behind cover. He didn't want to test how powerful his armor would be.

Grissom sighed as his men scattered, the turret continued to open fire, spewing out shells one by one.

"Damn it, they're going to pin us down!" Grissom hissed as he looked at the rest of his warband.

Grissom sighed and decided to see if they could pick off the remaining Orks from range. If they didn't continue their momentum? The Orks would be able to regroup and counter.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that Grissom isn't going to curb stomp everyone and I'm going to focus more on his tactical skills. Next chapter will be 2-10 weeks and will show the Obsidian Stalkers dealing with the remaining Orks and encountering the Thousand Sons. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter will be 1200 or so words, updates are infrequent.
