Chapter 3

In a disclosed location that only the members of Organization 13 knew of, their leader Xehanort was sitting in a chair watching a screen intently. It was a recording of when his younger self had succeeded in capturing the young Sora and his attempt to making him his thirteenth vessel. He watched as not only Lea, formally Axel of the other Organization, arrived, picking up the unconscious Sora. But the unknown figure valid completely in light arrived as well, temporally blinding them all. Xehanort watched as the women, for that he was sure now by her voice, as she fired arrows at all of them, preventing them from moving or attacking. Xehanort was impressed by her skill but he was remained too much of when he had tried and failed to make the X-Blade and took over Terra.

Back then he had tried to destroy the forth apprentice as she was in the way but had been stopped then by the actions of a child valid in light. The fact that the child was in women's womb at the time still intrigued him and Xehanort wished that he had taken the women instead to trying to kill her. The child had been not only a blinding beacon of light but had easily dispersed the dark attack he had sent at his/her mother. He was sure now that the figure that had been firing arrow of light was the same child as enough time had passed since that day.

Xehanort's thoughts were interrupted as Xigbar entered the room. "Hey old man, you still watching that recording?" the one eyed rouge asked. "What has you so spooked about this- light?"

"Do you recall the failed attempt to make the χ-Blade by using Ventus and Vanitus?" Xehanort asked him. "In particular the child that saved her mother?"

"Yeah I remember but do you remember how I was busy fighting Master blue hair, keeping her from going up there to fight alongside her friends?" Xigbar snapped but then his only eye grew wide as I turned to look at the figure in the light in the recording. "Wait are you saying that the one who showed up to save the brat is the child of that red haired fire cracker?"

"The energy surrounding her was similar but there was something greater than the Light Shard, a power I do not recognize. It requires investigating." Xehanort informed him as he stood up from his seat and went to a nearby window. Looking outside he could see the desert area that was the keyblade graveyard. "Have the newly returned Vexen look into it and any leads he finds have Marluxia investigate. Perhaps we may gain a new member."

The trip to the forest that Merlin was training Lea and Kairi was uneventful which was fine by Alex as she was looking forward to finally meeting Kairi. Though she was wondering who this Lea guy was that everyone kept talking about and she didn't get a chance to ask until they had arrived. "Um- well if you recall Axel help us in retrieving Sora from the Organization. Well he was recompleted before that, so in reality his name is Lea." Riku explained.

"Wait, you're saying that Axle is Lea?" Alex asked a little less confused as the man in question walked up behind her eating some ice cream. She thought back to the fight in the citadel and she vaguely recalled him complaining about everyone getting his name wrong more than once.

"I think my ears are burning." He said flirtatiously as he leaned down to smile at Alex. Having caught her completely off guard not only made Alex jump, she turned and punched him right in the face. He fell flat on his back with a cry of pain as he covered his now bleeding nose with his hands. "What the hell?!" he snapped shocked at her.

"Oh my goodness Lea, are you alright?" Kairi asked as she came running over to his side to see the extent of his injures. Alex was a bit horrified as she stood there staring at him her fist still raised, well Riku was fighting and failing to hold back his laughter. Mickey was simply too stunned to say or do anything. Merlin joined them a moment later, walking over casually smoking his pipe. "I say, what happened here?" he asked no one in particular.

"Lea just learned the hard way why you should never sneak up on Alex." Riku said around his dying laughter.

"Wait Alex?" Kairi askes as she looked up at the still horrified brunette, taking in her appearance for the first time. "You mean Alexandria Smith-Scott, the one who Riku knows and has been telling us about for years?"

"Um- hi." Alex said with a weak wave and a nervous smile. "Nice to finally meet you Kairi, how's keybalde training been treating you?"

Kairi didn't answer her as she ran over and threw her arms around Alex, a big smile on her face. "Oh Alex I am so glad I finally get to meet you." She said excitedly as Alex came out of her shock and hugged her back, as Kairi's happy energy put her at ease. They finally pulled out of the hug and Kairi started to ask her a bunch of questions which Alex was happy to answer. Lea however frowned at the exchange as he got to his feet as he pinched his nose to steam the bleeding.

"This is nice and all but who are you and why did you punch me in the face?!" Lea demanded as he glared down at Alex.

Alex winced as she saw the blood coming from his nose. "I am so sorry about that. Here let me heal that for you." She said walking over to him and used the Light Shard to heal Lea's broken nose, though it did not clean up the blood that now covered his face, gloved hand and a bit of his coat. Merlin thankfully handled that with a wave of his wand, leaving no trace of blood on Lea. After that Alex was properly introduced to Lea and they explained that it was her who had helped out in saving Sora. Lea did not look convinced as he looked down at her. "Are you sure she's the same girl? She doesn't look strong enough to fight even the weakest Heartless, little own anyone from the Organization." Lea said unconvinced.

Alex looked up at him blandly as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Lea let me tell you something. If I did looked as strong as I am, my secret as the Keeper of Light would have been reviled a long time ago. And then nether my family or I would ever get any peace back home, as they would be put at risk on a daily bases. Also didn't that punch to the face just teach you something?" She told him crossly.

"Yeah sure and I'm the Master of all Keyblade masters." Lea said sarcastically with a dramatic wave of his hand, ignoring her question.

"Believe whatever you want Lea, I'm here to help Riku and King Mickey find Aqua not impress you." She told him walking off to the side so Riku and Mickey could do what they came to do. Soon Riku and Mickey gave Kairi and Axel their new cloths and received new keyblades from Merlin. They left soon after that, though both Kairi and Alex wished they could have had more time to talk but they knew that they had important work ahead of them both. "Maybe when this is all over we can hang out." Kairi offered as they exchanged hugs good bye.

The three of them then headed to Radiant Gardens where Aqua and Terra were last reported being seen in the realm of light. He and Aqua had fought and then both had fallen into darkness but it was not clear as to what had happened to Terra. Dilan, one of remaining guards and a former member of the other Organization thirteen lead them to the square where the fight took place. Alex could feel Aqua's bright aura as well as a much darker one as she called on the Light Shard and grasped the keyblade master's residual energy.

She witnessed Aqua's fight with Terra, this time even hearing what the two said, which she shared with Mickey and Riku. This led them to hypotheses that Xehanort had Terra as one of his vessels, which did explain what Xehanort had meant by two of their lights being on his list. Alex had not heard that part as she hadn't arrived at the citadel yet when Xehanort had dropped that detail. Mickey was about to call Sora and warn him, Goofy and Donald about what they had learn when Sora called them.

"Oh, hiya Sora." Mickey said when he answered. Alex couldn't help but laugh when she heard Donald's and Goofy's happy cheers, and Sora in the background snapping at them to stop. (("What… wrong number?")) Sora asked in surprise.

"No Riku, Alex and I are visiting Radiant Garden. Actually we were about to call you guys, but it looks like you beat us to the punch." Mickey informed them as he shifted his gummiphone so both Alex and Riku could talk to Sora.

"Sora, is something wrong?" Riku asked. Sora went on to explain his worry about the situation with his Nobody Roxes, or mostly that he would need a body to be recompleted. Alex had heard much about Sora's nobody, the search for Sora's memories and the other Origination's activities. As Riku told Sora about the fake bodies or replicas as they liked to call them, Alex's thoughts turned to Xion. Riku had told her about the fake heart the Organization had made and put into a replica. From what Riku had told her Xion had looked a lot like Kairi, save her hair had been black. Xion had been created to replace Roxes as the Origination's keyblade wielder but they, along with Ansem the Wise and Riku hadn't counted on was her absorbing so much of Sora's memories. Alex had felt sorry for the poor confused girl who in the end not only had to return all of Sora's memories but had in a séance ceased to exist. As it stood Alex was the only one who remembered a girl that had never really existed.

Alex was pulled out of her thoughts as she herd Mickey reassure Sora that they would worry about finding a body for Roxes and for him to tell them to keep an eye out for Terra. "So what now?" Alex asked the boys as Mickey hung up and put his Gummiphone away.

"Well we've gave the vestments for Kairi and Axel to Merlin. Let's go stop by Ansem the Wise's study." Mickey suggested which made since with the current change of events, and with what Sora had told them. Alex let them lead the way through the castle and down to the lab as she looked around in slight awe. They were just heading down the stairs to the lab when Alex's power coin began to glow, giving off a familiar warmth, well the Phoenix spirt sutured with in her. Alex frowned as she stopped in her tracks and removed the Phoenix coin from where it was secured behind the Light Shard. "Is something wrong Alex?" Riku asked as he noticed her stop, his eyes growing slightly when he saw her glowing power coin.

"It's the Phoenix spirit, it's trying to tell me something. Give me a moment." She said as she held her coin, closed her eyes and focused on its energy. It shined brightly in her mind as the power of both the gird and of the ancient ninjetti energy unique to it twisted like water around her. Then the ninjetti part pulsed and sent out an urgent indication in the direction of the lab that they were heading for. Retching out through her connection to the great power, she was a bit surprised to find a strong source of the same power was waiting for them there. Alex tried to keep her shock off her face as she opened her eyes and continued the walk down the stairs, putting the Phoenix coin back behind the Light Shard. "We'd better hurry down to the lab, I believe that there's an unexpected guest down there and she's looking for me."

Riku and Mickey exchanged confused looks before fallowing her down the rest of the stairs and into the lab. There they were surprised to see a brown curly haired women in a kind of green jungle bikini outfit with boots, a loin cloth and a staff in her hands. She had her staff out in front of her as Aeleus stood protectively in front of Ienzo. "I mean nether of you any harm I am simply looking for Alexandria, the Keeper of Light. I sensed she was in this world and it is of the upmost importance that I speak with her." She calmly told the two very surprised men.

"Well I say you found me Dulcea, now please lower your staff before you cause a fight." Alex said trying not to laugh at the situation as she smiled at the women who she had come to see as a long distant aunt.

Hearing her all eyes fell on Alex, which brought greatly relief to the ancient warrior as she did lower her staff and returned Alex's smile. "Alexandria, there you are. I must say you were not easy to locate even with your connection to the phoenix being considerable greater then I last saw you."

"But why are you looking for me and how are you even here? I thought that if you left Phaedos you would start to rapidly age like Zordon when he's out of his time warp." Alex asked confused as she approached her and the two hugged.

"Um Alex, who is this?" Riku asked still confused as he interrupted them.

"Oh right. Boys this is Dulcea, master warrior and protector of the great power on the planet Phaedos. Dulcea, these are my friends Riku and King Mickey, well these two I have not yet had pleasure of meeting yet." Alex said as she gave the castle guard and apprentice a kind smile, hoping to put them at ease.

"Um yes well. I am Ienzo, and this is my associate Aeleus and it is a pleasure to meet you both." The still rattled scientist said trying to recover from the shock of the women's sudden appearance in the lab.

"I apologize for my sudden appearance and for any aggression I may have shown towards you both. If what I had to tell Alexandria wasn't so important I would have taken a bit more digression." Duleca apologised.

Alex was a bit alarmed now. "Dulcea what could be so important that you would risk leaving Phaedos to find me?"

"I am not at risk of aging if I leave Phaedos for a short period of time my Phoenix." Dulcea assured her with a warm smile, but it soon faded as a frown replaced it. "I have sensed a growing darkness that is connected to the morphing grid. I know not of its origins, the force behind it or where it is coming from. All I have discovered about it so far is that it is growing in strength and will soon affect all who are connected to the grid." Dulcea answered as she fully faced Alex, who was now in staring at her. "I had first gone to Earth to tell all of the rangers, Zordon and you. But when I learned that you had left to help find a certain Keyblade Master and her friends I once meet, I had to come."

"Wait are you saying you meet Master Aqua, Terra, Ven and their friend?" Riku asked in surprise as he came to stand next to Alex.

Dulcea nodded as she looked him over with a raised eyebrow. "It was many years ago, when dark beings known as the Unversed appeared on Phaedos and threatened the power kept at the monolith. I was alone and had no one to aid me till Master Aqua, Terra, Ventus and the 4th appeared and were able to destroy or drive them off. I am forever in their debt and I see no better way to repay that then my giving my phoenix what she needs to find them."

"Any help that you have to offer Dulcea is always welcome." Alex said as she smiled at her, which Dulcea was happy to return as she reached out and placed her hand on the Light Shard. Immediately Alex was shown how Aqua and Dulcea met.

Flashback- 15 years ago

Dulcea was in her owl form as she flew high above the jungle that covered most of the planet, having felt a strong source of darkness that suddenly appeared. Not liking it one bit Dulcea was weary as she approached the location she sensed where the darkness was coming from. When a valley came into view Dulcea saw many strange creatures that were the source of the darkness she had felt all the way from the ruins. She flew in close to get a better look at the strange creatures and then figure out the best course of action. Unfortunately it seemed she had flown in too close as one of the creatures, this one with long tentacle like arms, retched up and made to grab the ancient warrior.

Dulcea could only screech as she flapped her wings franticly to avoid the limbs, not noticing a smaller creature jumping at her. This one was able to grab on to Dulcea's current smaller form and pinned her to the ground. Dulcea screeched again but this time in frustration as she tried to get loss of the creature, noting its companions were closing in. She knew if she didn't get free soon, it could very well be her end and then the great power she had protected diligently for eons would be left venerable. One creature lifted one arm to strike her when it suddenly vanished as a blur struck it from behind. Dulcea looked up in surprise at the young blue haired women as she struck down one dark creature and moved on to the next with grace and speed. When she did away with the one pinning Dulcea to the ground, the ancient master warrior was able to get to her feet and return to her human form.

With her staff in hand Dulcea joined in fighting the creatures with the young warrior who was quickly gaining her admiration. Between the two of them, the creatures were soon defeated, disappearing into dark clouds of dust and smoke. With the threat currently dealt with Dulcea and the young women turned to face each other, their respective weapons still in their hands but not raised to fight. "Thank you for your assistance as I was in no position to deal with those creatures. I am Dulcea, Master warrior of the planet Phaedos and who might you be?"

"I am Aqua, Keyblade Master and you are most welcome though you will have to forgive me for being a bit on edge. I have never seen an owl change into a person before." The young women said and Dulcea could see the awe in her eyes, though she was trying to conceal it.

The corner of Dulcea's lip lifted slightly. "Yes I imagine not. Tell me what those creatures?"

"They are called the Unversed. They thrive on negative emotions from within people's hearts. My friends and I have been charged by our master to deal with them." Aqua explained as she took in the beauty of the forest around them, her eyes only lingering on the distant monolith for a few seconds before she turned to Dulcea again. "I sense a power resting in these lands, one I have never felt before."

"That is the Great Power of the Ninjetti and I have been charged with protecting it from those who would abuse it. " Dulcea explained as she studied Aqua in a different light, as there are not many who can séance the power that rested on Phaedos. "It has been some time since I have meet a keyblade master, especially one as young as yourself. Tell me Aqua, how long has it been since you were named a master and are all the worlds in danger from these creatures?"

Aqua was a bit taken back not only by her question but that Dulcea knew of the keyblade. "Um- I have only been a master for a few short weeks as I had only just been made one by my master when the Unversed started invading other worlds. How do you know of the keyblade and of other worlds?"

This time Dulcea couldn't help but laugh a little. "I may not look it young Master Aqua but I am far older then I appear. Come, let us go to a safe location to continue this discussion." She said before walking in the direction of the temple ruins. Aqua fallowed her and a half hour later that retched the ruins that Dulcea called home. They two spent a fair amount of time talking not only if their lives but Dulcea gave Aqua much to think about. "Your husband was a survivor of the Keyblade War? Then you must know what the cause was and who was behind it." Aqua wad now in awe of the women in front of her.

Dulcea shook her head. "I'm afraid that I do not as Quill kept much of the events of the war from me but let us not dwell on the pass. As you are here to deal with the Unversed, allow me to call on the sacred animal spirits to be your guide well you are here." She stood and prepared what she needed for the ritual.

"There's no need for that." Aqua said as she watched Dulcea's preparations curiously.

"I'm afraid that it is as you will need the extra protection from the defences that protect the monolith where the Great Power resides." Dulcea explained not looking up from her task. "I myself cannot approach it as I would begin to age rapidly and soon die."

Aqua's eyes grew big in shock. "Oh." Was all she could say as Dulcea proceeded with the ritual and soon Aqua was dressed in Ninjetti robes that were blue and silver, the symbol of a koi fish rested on her chest. "Aqua, you are the Koi, your perseverance and adaptability are your strongest allies." Dulcea explained with a smile, which Aqua returned.

End of Flashback

Alex blinked as she came back to the present and Dulcea removed her hand from the Light Shard. "I don't believe it, you made Aqua a Ninjetti, like me and the other rangers."

"Indeed and my instincts proved right as she needed them as she dealt with the Unversed near the monolith but she never retched the sacred location its self." Dulcea explained noting that all the boys in the room were frowning at the two in confusion.

"This is very good news." Alex mused with a big grin. "I can use the Phoenix spirit and the connection I'm making with the Light Shard's powers to find her. Thank you Dulcea, once again you've been a big help."

Dulcea smiled sweetly at Alex as she took both of her hands in hers. "I only wish I could do more for Aqua, Terra and Ventus, as they did so much not only for me but the worlds. Remember to trust your instincts, your animal spirit and most importantly your friend's dearest Alexandria."

"I will and may the power protect you Dulcea." Alex said hugging her once more.

"May it protect you as well my Phoenix." Dulcea said before she teleported away, most likely back to Phaedos.

"Well, that was interesting." Mickey said recovering the fastest from the strange encounter.

"Indeed. I wish to learn more of what you and Dulcea were talking about." Ienzo said looking excited at the prospects of learning something new and exciting.

"I wish I could Ienzo but I am not able to as it is against the rules laid down by my mentor Zordon." Alex informed him as she gave him a sympathetic smile before she turned to Riku and Mickey. "Do you guys mind if I step out for a bit? You don't really me for what you have to share with Ienzo and Dulcea has given me much to think about. I also need to connect with the grid and investigate this darkness she warned me about."

"I don't see a problem, do you Mickey?" Riku asked turning to their friend and current leader.

"I don't see why not." Mickey agreed as she could see that Alex did have a bit on her mind now. "Meet us back here in an hour, we should be done here by then."

Alex thanked them and left the lab with a thoughtful frown on her face, which concerned Riku as he watched her go. He pushed it aside for the time being as he and Mickey shared what they had learned, shared all that Sora had told them and asked about getting Roxes a body. They were troubled to learn that Even, who was formally Vexen in the Organization before he was recompleted, was gone. Most likely taken by the new Organization for the same purpose that they wanted to talk to him about.

Alex left the castle, not really pay much attention to where her feet were taking her as she was deep in thought. Dulcea really had given her much to think about, not only about Aqua being a Ninjetti warrior as well as Keyblade Master. No it was the growing darkness in the Morphing Grid that Dulcea had warned her about, and the unknown source behind it. As the Keeper of Light, Alex was charged with keeping the grid balanced and if there was a threat to it she had to look into it right away. Stepping into a quite out of the way garden Alex sat down on the grass in a comfortable lotus position and meditated. She easily found the connection she had to the grid, through both the Light Shard and her Ninjetti animal spirit.

In her mind, the gird was bright, filled with good energy and powerful light, in fact everywhere she looked everything looked as it should. That is until there was a shift, which was followed by cries of pain and fallowing that Alex found the darkness that Dulcea had told her about. It was deep and moved quickly along the grid like an infection in a human body. Alex moved closer to it, to get a better look and see if there was anything she could do to drive it out for good.

"Do not touch it Alexandria." A familiar set of voices broke through the silence of the grid, stopping Alex before she touched the darkness, her surprise over riding a shudder. Turning she frowned at the three forms of the Emissaries of the morphing masters. "Back away from that, now. It's not safe." Blue ordered as they came closer to her position.

"What do you mean it's not safe and since when do you three use my name?" Alex asked as she turned to look at them with a confused frown.

"You must leave, cut yourself off from the grid immediately Keeper and continue your search for the missing Keyblade master." The red emissary told her as he summoned the power sword, the yellow the power daggers and the blue the power lance. "We will handle this."

"Whoa, hold on. You have been hounding me since we meet that I need to be more diligent in keeping the grid balanced. Now when I go to do it you tell me to leave it to you? Yeah, you're going to have to give me a bit more of an explanation." Alex told them, a determined frown on her face, unaware that the darkness was swelling behind her.

It then shot out tentacles of darkness at her, which made the three emissaries jump in and cut the tentacles before they retched her. "LEAVE NOW!" the three of them shouted at her but she was too shocked from what had just happened to do as they ordered. She continued to watch as they fought the darkness with the weapons she had seen her adoptive older siblings use on monsters. It was only after the tentacles grabbed and threw the three powerful beings away like rag dolls that Alex came back to her senses. She only had enough time to gather enough energy from around her to make a shield between herself and the darkness before it came at her. It didn't prove strong enough as Alex felt the darkness grab onto her and started to pull her into its depths. Alex struggled against its pull as she put all energy she could into one call through another bond she had.

"RIku!"

Riku jerked, as Alex's panicked voice ripped through his mind. "Alex!" he called out as he ran out of the lab and the castle. He looked around franticly for any sign of her, ignoring Mickey, Aeleus, Dilan and Ienzo as they ran over, demanding to know what was wrong. Not really sure as to how he knew where he was going but Riku headed down the castle steps and took off down the right road as fast as he could. It took a few moments of flat out running, hearing Alex's cries for help going through his mind before he reached the garden she was meditating in. He saw her still seated but there was a light and dark energy swirling around her and she was clenching her teeth in pain. "Alex!" Riku shouted as he ran over and retched out to her. He was maybe a foot away when the two energies around her burst outward, blinding him.

To Mickey and the others, who had fallowed Riku all the way from the castle, the two humans were in the middle of an explosion. They were all thrown off their feet and blinded by the force of the energy that burst outward from Alex. When the shockwave had passed and they could all see again they gathered their baring's, staring in shock. The garden and surrounding area were untouched, like nothing had just happened but both Alex and Riku were gone. "What just happened here?" Dilan asked confused as they all got to their feet.

"I- don't know." Mickey said as worry filled him. He had no idea what had just transpired there and because of that he didn't know where his two friends were and if they were ok.

Drakkon's Citadel- another dimension

Drakkon was not pleased at the moment as he had just missed the opportunity to do away with the last of the Samurai Rangers. The female Red Ranger Lauren Shiba had been saved by the pesky Mighty Morphen Rangers and the last member of Time Force Rangers. It seemed that doing away with their Tommy had lit a fire under them and it was frustrating him greatly. Now that he was back in his own world, in the depths of his fortress he was just informed that there was not only one but two unknown females in his jail. The disturbing part was that both had seemed to just appear out of nowhere, unconscious and right in front of his troops from a bright light.

Entering the dungeon he went to the cell and saw a women who looked to be in her late twenties or yearly thirties. She had long blond hair, dressed in a simple pair of jeans, a grey t-shirt, and boots, all of which were all covered in dirt, grass stains and torn in places. There was really nothing remarkable about her appearance but the locked wooden box that was inlayed with symbols of a Dragon, a Tortoise, a Sparrow Hawk and a Phoenix was very interesting. His troops had laid her on the cell's only cot, well the other, a younger teenage girl was on the floor. Her attire was very different, her brown hair done in braids and Drakkon could feel the power of the morphing grid around her. In his quest for power and thanks to the vison in the chaos crystals he knew who both of these women were but not what they were capable of. The Phoenix Ranger Alexandria Smith-Scott and the Sparrow Hawk, Zara Rodger, who was engaged to one Dr. Tommy Oliver. They were two of the four guardians of the Ninjetti and a threat Drakkon could not ignore.

Drakkon turned to the commander of his red Sentries and barked. "When they wake inform me immediately. No exceptions." The Sentry nodded as his ruthless leader turned and stormed away, a bit happier with the turn of events. With two of the Morphing Grid's strongest sources of light in his custody he felt that his goal was within his grasp.
