Well I am proud of myself here, still putting up a new chapter a week after the last one. Anyway I do not own Power Rangers or Kingdom Hearts but I hope you enjoy what I have taken great delight in writing it.

Chapter 5

Morphing World Mighty Morphen- Command Center

Riku, Sora, Donald and Goofy were feeling beat as they teleported into the ranger's command center straight form the now ruined city of Corinth. Sora and been surprised but delighted when his best friend had shown up with the two red rangers in Jason's Tyrannosaurus Zord. Though he had been a bit worried about how that had come about and that as far as they knew Alex was missing. They hadn't had much time to talk however as the attack had started and the Heartless were taking full opportunity of the situation. They tried to help the rangers and Corinth's defence guards as best as they could well fighting the Heartless but they soon had to leave as the dome was destroyed and they all teleported to safety.

They were a bit down at the loss of what had happened but that soon changed as Billy, the two Trini's, and the two Zack's teleported in with not only a liberated Ninjor but Alex and Zara as well. The moment Alex powered down she barely saw Jason's surprised face before she found herself being grabbed and hugged by a much relived Riku. "Do you know how worried I've been after the panic you put me through back in Radiant Gardens?" he demanded of her as he held her tight.

Alex smiled as she returned her friend's hug, well burring her face in his shoulder. "I'm sorry about that but I couldn't help it when the darkness that had been attacking the grid grabbed me. I just instinctively retched out and called to you for help. I didn't mean to worry you." she muttered against his shoulder, taking strength from his calming presence as she always did, unaware that all of the original rangers present were glaring at Riku. Well Sora, Donald, and Goofy were staring at Alex as they had not known she was a ranger at all.

Eventually Sora got over his surprise, cleared his throat from behind Riku which made the two let go of each other, their faces red well they looked at the gathered rangers around them. Riku shot his smirking best friend a look well they all waited for Kim and Jen to return in Kim's zord with the rest of the rangers they had retrieved from the splintered Morphing worlds. Thankfully that wait wasn't a long one as they soon arrived and with a little surprise for Zara. "Mommy!" shouted a little brown haired, blue eyed boy as he ran over to the new ninjetti warrior, who was nearly in tears at seeing her son.

"Mrs. Rodgers, I'm so glad that you're ok. Toby's been very worried about you." Kira Ford, the yellow Dino Thunder Ranger told her former high school teacher as she approached them.

"Kira, do I have to remind you to call me Zara as I'm not your teacher anymore? Where are the others?" the older women asked as she picked up her son, looking at the other rangers that had arrived with the yellow Dino Thunder Ranger. She didn't spot any of the other Dino Thunder among them but she was relieved to see that Toby still had his sealed morpher on his wrist.

Kira's face fell. "They distracted Drakkon's forces well giving me and Toby a chance to escape, I don't know if they made it. Dr. O?" Kira asked hopeful, also looking around for her mentor and teammate. Zara shook her head as she looked down sadly, which put a damper on the already sad mood. After that the meeting started which the Keyblade welders stood off to the said and listened as Alex, being a ranger wanted to take part in the discussion. "The situation is becoming increasingly dire." Jen said to them all before explaining. "The crakes in the grid are spreading. They're starting to resemble the Nexus Fractures my team and I saw… the ones that consumed worlds. All the reworking that Drakkon is doing- both for himself and or his army- is making things worse. If he continues- he will break reality." Jen finished.

"And by the look of him, he doesn't much care." said Commander Doggie Cruger of the SPD rangers.

"Ninjor was inside Drakkon's fortress, forced to help him, he knows firsthand what Drakkon is trying to achieve." the older Trini from Drakkon's dimension said and Ninjor took that as his cue. "Achieve is a relative term. Lord Drakkon is attempting to amass power, so that he may access the heart of the morphing grid itself."

"Is that even possible?" Carter, the Red Lightspeed Rescue ranger asked confused.

"In theory yes. However there has only ever been one being who ever accomplished such a thing, at a great risk to himself and it came with a great price." Zordon said grimly.

"Really, who?" Billy asked his curiosity getting the better of him.

"I think I know." Alex said with a grim look on her face. "The first Phoenix Ranger and Keeper of Light, my ancestor Quill."

"Indeed." Zordon confirmed. "Quill went into the grid to bind the Light Shard and those who take up the mantel of Keeper of Light to Morphin Grid to keep its power hidden from those who would misuse it." Zordon explained to the surprised group but he and Ninjor, who also knew this, could see that Alex was not surprised.

"Wait so does this mean that Alex can go into the Morphin Grid?" the older Zack of asked and like him he saw a lot of hopeful looks around the room.

Alex shook her head. "No I can't just go into the grid on my own, at least not in the way that your thinking. I can send my mind there, as I have to keep the power of the grid balanced but I can't physically enter the Grid on my own. I have been pulled into the grid once before and let me tell you it was not at all a pleasant experience. But I think that if Drakkon is trying to get into the grid he must be after the Heart of the Master." Alex surmised thoughtfully, which confused everyone but Ninjor and Zordon, who of course knew what she was talking about.

"I'm sorry but what is the Heart of the Master?" The Kim asked confused.

"It is a crystal that is the corner stone of the Morphin Grid and is what gives all of you your powers." Zordon explained as he looked at Alex thoughtfully. "Its power is beyond measure, with the only other artifact I know of that comes close to it power is the Light Shard that rests in Alexandria's care."

All of them looked at Alex in surprise again but she simply shrugged. "I have yet to tap into all of the Light Shard's power but if Drakkon succeeds in getting into the grid and obtains the heart, there will be no stopping him."

"Each ranger team's morphers connect to the grid in a slightly different way. By adding the equivalent of access points to his power set, Drakkon is increasing his resonance to the grid. However by doing this he puts a strain on the grid as well to himself." Ninjor explained before him, the older Trini and older Zack went on to explain that the tower at the top of what once had been Rita's palace on the moon was how he was accomplishing this.

The meeting soon came to an end as the unexpected crash landing of a ship outside the command center, and the red Space Ranger Andros, came tumbling out. After taking a bit of time to recover his strength Andros informed them that he knew where the Rangers that Drakkon had taken alive were being kept. Riku took this as a chance to quietly talk to Sora, Donald, Goofy and Alex in privet in a far corner where they wouldn't be over heard. "So Alex if I understand the situation correctly, if Drakkon wins all of the worlds connected to the Morphin grin will be in grave danger of collapse?" Riku asked her.

"Yes, that's right. Don't worry Riku we're not staying to help in the fight." Alex informed him, knowing that he was about try and convince her to not fight with her fellow rangers.

The four of them were a bit surprised and Sora out right asked. "Why aren't you staying to fight? Don't you want to stop Drakkon, well fighting alongside your fellow rangers?"

"Don't get me wrong Sora, I want to but back before the darkness in the grid tried to grab me the Emissaries shown up. They not only told me to leave the grid but to cut myself off from it completely and continue to look for Aqua. They would not have said that unless they feared what would happen if I did become involved or that stopping Xehanort wasn't so important. Also if I abandon my search for Aqua now, the connections I have made to her heart with the Light Shard will be lost, maybe for good." Alex explained before adding. "By the way Sora I said we're not staying to help, which very much includes you three half pints."

"But-"

"Alex is right Sora." Riku said cutting his best friend off before he could argue as he knew he was about to. "This is a fight that we need to stay out off and stay focused on our own missions. Or have you finally regained your power of waking?"

Sora gave Riku a hard look as he knew that both of them were right but it didn't mean that he had to like it. Neither Donald nor Goofy saw fit to argue either as they all watched Alex go over to Jason and his group to give them the news. They could see there were some mixed emotions about her and the Keyblade welders withdrawing from the fight. Jason looked relived, well Zordon seemed understanding but Andros, Lindsey and Cruger seemed disappointed.

The 5 of them were just about to head out when Ninjor, Zara, her son Toby, Trini, Billy, Zack and Kim found them. "We heard that you were all leaving and wanted to wish you the best." Kim said as she walked over and hugged Alex.

"I wish we could stay but we have our own group led by a power crazy madman to stop taking over all the worlds." Riku said as he shook hands with all of them.

"We can't let you guys have all the universe saving fun now can we." Goofy said with a silly grin.

"No, as keyblade wielders your duties lie elsewhere but before you leave, Alex I was hoping that Zara and I could ask for your assistance." Ninjor said as Zara held up the wood box she had been found with. "I am certain you are aware of the contents of this box and why it was hidden away on Phaedos."

"I believe I do but I am sorry Ninjor but it can only be opened when the Sparrow Hawk, the Dragon, the Phoenix and the Tortoise stand together. You of all people should know that." Alex said as she looked at him confused.

"That I do but it is my hope that with either you're Light Shard or with one of the keyblades we may be able to open it and retrieve the power that belongs to Zara so she can help in the battle to come." Ninjor explained, hopeful to convince her or one of the Keyblade welders to help.

"I don't see why-" Sora started to say but Alex cut him off as she gave not only the ninja master a hard look but Zara as well.

"That box must remain sealed till the time is right, when all 4 of the guardian spirits of the ninjetti are together." Alex said with a bit of an edge in her voice before she turned her full attention on the older women. "Beside don't you think you should sit this one out given your current physical state?"

Zara frowned at her in confusion, as did everyone else. "What do you mean my current physical state? What are you talking about?"

It was only then that Alex realized she possible knew something that not even Zara herself was aware of, her eyes going wide in surprise. "Wait are you telling me that you don't know?'

"Know what?" Zack asked as he looked from Alex to Zara.

"Billy could you get Alpha over here please, and run a scan on Zara. I think she'll take the news better from him then from me." Alex said as she tried to keep the growing smile off her face as a confused Billy went to get their robot friend. It was only after Alpha 5 ran the scan that they all understood and agreed that Zara would be staying out of the fight. None of them wanted to put her and the twin she was currently carrying at risk and Ninjor dropped the subject of opening the box completely.

"But I don't understand Alex how did you know she was pregnant?" Donald asked confused as they walked away from the group.

"Sometimes the Light Shard likes to show me people's life force." Alex went on to explain as they headed towards the exit. "It's not a power I've figured out yet but when I do see someone's life force it's a small ball of light that rests where the heart is located. So in Zara's case she had two extra, smaller balls of light resting inside of her and I knew there was only one possible explanation."

After wishing all the rangers the best Sora, Donald and Goofy teleported up to their gummiship, well Riku opened a gate to take the two of them back to Radiant Guardian. On the other side of the gate Riku and Alex found themselves standing right outside the castle gate. "Well I'm glad that's over. Though I have to say Alex you and your family of rangers sure seemed to have had a lot to deal with over the years." Riku said as he smiled down at her, admiration in his eyes.

Alex laughed. "Riku you have no idea the stuff I've done since meeting Jason and the others, even before I became a ranger myself."

"Riku! Alex!" Mickey called out to them as he came running. "You're both back and in one piece."

"Yeah, I'm sorry about all that your majesty. There was a bit of a mishap when I was connect to the grid and it kind of back fired." Alex explained sheepishly as a guilty look covering her face.

"Oh there's nothing to apologize for Alex and please call me Mickey. We are friends after all." He told her, a big smile on his face. Alex smiled too as her heart swell, happy that she did have such good friends.

Xehanort and Xigbar stood in the lab that Vexen was diligently working not only on the Replica project but on the task Xehanort had recently given him. He had called for the two of them a short time ago, nearly 3 hours since sending Marluxia to investigate a possible lead into the strange energy. "Has there been any word from Marluxia since he departed for that fractured set of worlds?" Xehanort asked Vexen.

"I'm afraid not master." Vexen said not looking up from his work.

Xigbar hummed as he rolled his eyes. "I told you that you shouldn't have sent that flower traitor off to investigate on his own. So what now?"

Xehanort ignored Xigbar's disrespect, only giving him a brief side glance, before he focused on Vexen once again. "Have you learned more on the energy surrounding the girl vailed in the light that had appeared during the convergence?"

"Indeed I have." This time Vexen did look up from his work, a grin on his face as he stood and went to a display screen. After a bit of typing and searching he brought up his findings. "Using the information you gave me I was able to discern which energy was this Light Shard you spoke of from the unknown energy. After discovering the world that I sent Marluxia to investigate I discovered another world and this one seems to have an interesting legend that surrounds it."

"Interesting in what way?" Xehanort inquired, his own interest peeked.

"It's said that this world is home to an ancient great power capable of unimaginable possibilities that only have limits of the wielder's heart. Unfortunately this great power is protected by unknown defences that are rumored to be impenetrable. Also it's said that there is a protector that resides in some temple ruins here." Vexen brought up the world on the display, zooming in on the location of the ruins, all the while the world's name was displayed in the top right corner of the screen.
