HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYSON! HOW OLD IS HE NOW, THIRTY? I DONT KNOW, BUT I WROTE THIS ONE IN A HURRY...I DONT KNOW HOW IT CAME OUT! DO RATE AND REVIEW! It's a TyHil friendship fic, not romance. Yeah, too many TyHils now, right? Tell me about it. I really should write something else too. I promise, if you wish, I will write something apart from TyHil. Damn, I should get over it. But they're so cute, after all.

Okay, enough ranting. Go ahead and enjoy the story :)

"…yeah, everything's packed up- DAICHI! Get it together, will ya? Jeez, I don't want to deal with your flying sickness either!" The fifteen-year old yelled at the fiery red-haired kid. His hand was squashed inside his suitcase. He stopped right there, recollecting something. He turned his head back and yelled, "Hils, where are the snacks?"

"Tyson, I've got everything! We're going to get late! Please be quicker!" The brunette retorted, annoyed.

"Hey! I'll carry some of the share! You know I'm going to starve out there!" Tyson wouldn't stop the argument. His love for food wouldn't suffice for the day, even if they toured the most beautiful or the most luxurious place in the world.

"Tyson! If you don't stop now, we will reach there by the skin of our teeth! Come on now, get moving already!"

"She's right! Tyson, Daichi, Hilary! Move ahead to the taxi! I will come with Kenny later. Start moving!"

"But what about-"

"Just go already!" Hiro ordered.

The three did as they were told. However, Hilary had to empathically haul them towards the taxi as Tyson and Daichi just wouldn't stop fighting and battering eachother on the thoroughfare.
The taxi ride was rather peaceful, only because the duo managed to get a nap in no time. Hilary sighed unbelievingly.

'They can't be serious…' She thought. 'They're uniquely impossible!'

She gazed out of the window. Her eyes continuously glanced at the taxi driver, making sure he doesn't make any wrong moves. If Tyson was continuously going to take a slumber, no one would be there to protect her on time. Bakuten was becoming unsafe day by day.
Getting all the pessimistic thoughts out of her mind, she opened up the window shutter and wandered outside.

'Two more days and it's your birthday, Tyson. You'll be turning sixteen. Oh what an immature, young man you'll be.' She grinned to herself.

'I don't know what to do for your birthday. Knowing you, you'd like something that means something to you. But…do I mean anything to you?'

Her eyes squinted and glistened. 'I mean, you do care about your friends. But, what am I to you? It's not like I can blade. And blading and your friends who blade is all you care about. Sometimes I wonder why I even am on this team. Nevertheless, don't change. I love the way you are.' She concluded, looking at him.

A while later, they were at the airport. Tyson yawned loudly as he stretched his arms up in the air. He lazily got himself out of the taxi. Hiro and Kenny had already arrived despite the taxi starting earlier than them. Kenny waved through the crowds as the three came running to their direction.

"Our flight leaves in two hours," Hiro said firmly. "We can chill at the airport till then."

Hilary raised her hands up in the air and jumped. "Ooh, yes! I wanted to have a look around the airport! And I really need to get a good dress up! We're visiting everyone in a fancy place like London after all!"

While Hilary ranted about how much she loved Europe, Tyson dropped a sweat, as though completely embarrassed by the crowd looking at them. "O-kay, Hila-"

"Tyson! Why don't you help me get a tour here?" Hilary said with a charming smile.

"Yeah! Me too, dude! Get me some food!" Daichi jumped in.

Tyson was baffled and just giggled in confusion. "Uh-only if Hilary helps me take care you."

Hilary readily nodded. "C'mon, what're we waiting for?"

The three stormed off, sauntering away from Hiro and Kenny who grinned behind them. Hilary slid her hands through her bag and took out some cloths. She dragged out a pair of boots and pushed her bag onto Tyson who was currently occupied with her stuff and Daichi's nagging. Within five minutes, the brunette walked out of the washroom. Her presence interrupted Daichi and Tyson's fight. Tyson gazed at her dumbfoundedly. She wore a pair of seaweed colored high waist jeans along with a black-colored crop hoodie, which has 'change the game' written with white on the left side. What made her looks even more alluring were the dark blue boots she wore along with the dress. Tyson, who was dumbstruck, snapped out of his reverie after Daichi yelled his name the fiftieth time.

"Oh-let's get some food, guys!" He chuckled goofily. "If you're done, Hils…" He ended more confidently than before. Hilary nodded with a yes.

Five minutes before the boarding time ended, they rushed towards the gate, panting, given Tyson's lateness. He stopped, placing his palms on his elbows.

"Enter, fast!" Hiro growled.

They caught the flight just in time. After a nearly twelve-thirteen hour ride, they were there, in Europe. It was almost ten in the night by the time they landed. Not surprisingly, the G-Revolutions were waiting for them by thr airport, everyone in coats and earmuffs waving with their hands high up in the air. However, it was astonishing to see Kai and Tala.

"Kai, Tala! You guys are here too?" Tyson exclaimed.

"In front of you," Kai retorted stoically.

"Well! The championships start in another two weeks, if you remember!" Tyson said exhilaratingly, punching his fists forward. "And I expect a great tournament from everyone!" He concluded, looking at all the bladers.

"Sure, Tyson, we'll give it our best shot!" Max said, winking. "But for now, let's take a tour around Europe- starting from tomorrow. Let's get to the hotel and get you some food."

And so they did. Daichi got rid of his sickness and was impatiently waiting to see the comfortable hotel rooms awaiting for him in this very beautiful city of London.
In fifteen minutes or so, they arrived at a five-star hotel. The entrance was embedded with golden lights stuck by the doors. In the middle of the reception was placed a colossal, golden chandelier. There were no signs of any white-coloured lights. Golden, plush sofas were placed on either side of the entrances.

"Wow…," was all Kenny could mutter. Hiro dropped off from the G-Revolutions, as he sought some work for the BBA.

"We will all be taking this team-wise." Ray explained. "Each team accommodates one room and extra beds if required."

Hilary shuddered. She was waiting to sleep with only the girls and didn't want anything to do with Tyson.
The BBA Revolution had their room right opposite to PPB All Starz, as the White Tigers wanted their room opposite to F-Dynasty's. While the PPB All Starz specifically wanted that area, Kenny supported White Tiger's opinion. Through this perk, he got a chance to work easily with Emily. If this hadn't been the case, he'd have to walk all the way to another block due to the lack of rooms available.

Despite it being nearly eleven, some snacks from the hotel were readily available. Tyson, Daichi and Kenny hogged on in the restaurant. However, Hilary hadn't showed up, with the reasons being unknown. When everyone inquired Tyson about it, all he did was shrug.
Within five minutes, an unusually scrappy Hilary showed up. Her hands were stuck with bits and pieces of paper and pen marks.

"Hilary?" Max quavered. "What's up? Get some food!"

"Yeah, su-re!" She rushed, glancing at Tyson. Tyson however was too busy eating. She was panged at his carefree attitude towards her. He didn't seem to care about each move she made. But for now, she had to let it go.

After the small supper, an offer came up for a game of cards. Tyson however refused. The day had been grueling for him. He slammed opened the door and threw himself on the bed. Within a minute or two, he was ready to take a slumber.

"MORNING, TYSON! WAKE UP! WE HAVE A BUNCH OF PLACES TO VISIT!"

"Hils, I know-" But the voice didn't belong to Hilary. It belonged to the boisterous Daichi who was pouncing upon him. This seemed rather odd. If Hilary was present, it was always her nagging the team around. However, she seemed despondent and out of her character. She was wide awake, ready with gorgeous clothes on, lounging herself against the extra-bed. What lacked in her beauty was her smile.
Tyson slightly parted his lips and gawked at her. Undoubtedly, she had been down since yesterday. He was sure he hadn't been derogate to her recently, nor had insulted her in anyway. Tyson assumed it was a typical problem, so left it there.
During the tour around London, things hadn't gotten any better. Hilary was secluded. Worst of all, not even the girls had bothered to question her or even talk to her. She was different, all alone, by herself. She wasn't a blader and was indeed a unique member of the team. But making her feel ostracized wasn't the right thing either. A choiceless atmosphere among people within herself, she decided to stay all by her own. She figured Tyson would want to spend time with his other friends rather than her.
Her attention was completely diverted to the navy-haired champion. Her heart stabbed itself continuously.

The whole day tour finally came to an end. Hilary was blissed. She could finally spend some quality time alone, listen to desolation music-

Wait.

Hold on.

'TYSON'S BIRTHDAY IS IN THREE HOURS! HIS GIFT! I HAVE TO KEEP IT READY!' she yelled internally. Impulsively, she changed herself into night-clothes and threw herself on the bed, finally taking a nap.

"Hilary? You're sleeping? We're all gathering up in Julia and Raul's room. Are you not gonna join us?" Kenny sweetly joined.

"Well…" she pondered. "No, I-I'm a bit tired. You guys carry on. Goodnight!" She finished, throwing the blanket on herself.

Tyson raised an eyebrow. "Okay. Kenny, Daichi! Let's go!" He slammed the door right before her. The lights automatically switched off.

Hilary had a sleepless hour. Well, after all, she was up completing the gift. Despite finishing that, she was unable to sleep. She cuddled under the blankets, moved from side-side, but profound thoughts couldn't get off her mind.
Things were heating up in Julia's room. A game of truth or dare was indeed intriguing. Kenny was still all over Ming-Ming, Emily made confessions to Michael, Mariah and Ray's relationship was iconic. Tyson however seemed a bit out of the conversations.
While laughs and giggles flew across the room, Tyson gently and surreptitiously got off the bed. Ray caught him red-handed.

"Tyson?" He questioned. "Where are you going?"

"Hey, I'm a bit sleepy. Good night," Tyson retorted. "See ya tomorrow morning."

Walking through nearly five blocks, he finally swiped the card in front of his room door. He nonchalantly walked to his suitcase and got his changes ready. He changed into his regular green night clothes, took off his cap and was nearly going to fall asleep. But the brunette caught his attention.
She was on the rooftop, with her headphones plugged into an mp3 player. Her hands rested on the rails.

"Uh, Hils?" He said softly, with his eyes near the glass doors of the roof entrance.

She didn't retort or look.

"Hilary!" He called out, this time a bit louder. Startled, she swung her head around to see Tyson and threw her headphones out. "Chill out, it's only me! Why're you awake?"

"Tyson? You're back? And…the others?"

Tyson looked at the ground with his eyebrows unwrinkled. However, he kept a grin. "They'll take a while. Well, why're you awake?"

Hilary turned back at the sky, gazing at the glistening stars. "Nothing, really. I can't get sleep."

"You were welcome to tag along with us. Do you think we're pulling a leg to you or something?" He interrogated harshly.

"No, Tyson. Everything's okay, don't worry." She said softly. "Look at the sky, anyway. It's so starry. Ever got to see one this beautiful?"

A gentle breeze blew. Tyson and Hilary's hair and clothes played along with the rhythm. Tyson stood there with his palms supported by the glass windows, while she stood ahead, gazing at the stars. He gawked at her beauty. Getting his guts together, he walked forward.

"Yeah, the sky is beautiful." He finally replied, standing beside her. She grinned at him. He looked beside and grinned back.

"And the city too."

"London is a beautiful city, Hilary. I've been here before." Tyson commented.

"I know. You've been everywhere, havent you?"

"Not really. Actually, we visited more since you and Daichi joined this team." Tyson explained.

"I can't concentrate anywhere. I have to nag you both around after all." Hilary said sarcastically.

They both laughed along. Hilary's intermittent behavior was slowly fading away.

"Uh, Hilary…" Tyson said apprehensively.

"Yeah?"

"I know this might seem unusual coming from me," he conceded. "But, really, is anything bothering you? The past two days haven't really been yours, have they? You seem really eccentric and secluded. I don't know what's wrong. So, maybe…If I could know?"

Hilary was baffled yet exhilarated. Tyson actually asked her if she was doing well. Those words jolted her. But how could she tell him, he was the reason when he hadn't done anything this time?
She looked ahead his shoulder. A clock in the tower read 11:58 PM.

"Tyson," she stated. "I thought you were dense."

"I-I don't know, Hilary. I am, maybe I am. But since I'm not swamped into blading for a while, I've began to notice other things. I've began to notice my surroundings more. I guess you were lucky that I notcied you as well."

"Lucky? What do you mean, Tyson?" Hilary raised a questioning eyebrow.

"No one has been paying any attention to your solitude, I suppose? They're being sleazy slimeballs in terms of friendship. But I couldn't leave you hanging. And that's one reason…"

11:59 PM.

"…couldn't see you like that…" Hilary wasn't paying attention to his words, rather to the clock over his shoulder.

The second hand struck 57, 58…

"So, I was just wondering if-"

He was interjecting by an embracing movement. Hilary tenderly and impulsively threw her hands around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulders. Her eyes were shut with tears pouring down her face. Tyson was dumbstruck, with his lips parted.

"Happy sixteen, Tyson!" she said softly.

Tyson didn't speak a word. His hardiness boosted down. His body felt cold as it shook slowly.

"I'm sorry, I made you worry. I'm sorry for being a nag, I'm sorry if I ever let you down in beyblading. I don't know much about it, I'm just naïve! I'm not worth your friendship, I'm not worth anything! Sometimes I think about…quitting."

"Hilary," Tyson spoke up finally. "Is this how you elate me for my sweet sixteen? What do you mean by what you just said?" He grabbed her shoulders and pulled her away from him, however, his hands still rested on her shoulders. "You mean so much to me, don't you have any idea? Well, knowing how I am, you wouldn't. But I just want to tell you this – DON'T think about quitting. We're not worth anything without you. I'm sure even Daichi agrees."

Hilary looked up at him in disbelief. He grinned back at her. "Thanks for the hug, it was sweet. And, you mean a lot to me, Hils. I don't want you to take it any other way. For my sake, for my birthday's sake, just take it in. And I'm sorry. I never knew you felt this way on the team."

"Forget about me. It's time for me to handover the gift." She smiled. She walked inside, with him following her. She picked up a package and placed it in his arms. He curiously opened it.
Once the opening was done, he was, once again dumbstruck. His lips parted as he lifted the frame up. The gift was a large glass frame, embedded beautifully with decorations around the corners. The main part lied in between, displaying all the pictures they've taken in the past to years. It was as heart-touching as it seemed.

"How is it?" She questioned, with her arms tied at the back.

"I-I-I...Hilary! I don't know what to say…is that why…is that why you were stuck with glue, bits and pieces of paper all over yourself that night? And is it why you came late?"

Hilary nodded casually.
Tyson was emotional, especially on his friends' occasions. His eyes slowly squinted and glistened with tears filling up. His eyebrows unwrinkled and tears slid gently down his face. "You really…Hilary! You call yourself worthless? You hate yourself this much? I can't- I can't let-"

Hilary was bewildered. It was one of the very few times Tyson cried over something she did, or over her. It was a special moment, and she didn't want to spoil it. She thereby kept her mouth sealed thinking of the simplest and the most casual thing, which could avoid any spoils.

"You can't let…what?"

"Let you suffer alone! Dude, I've-been a jerk to you! What about that? And you still show so much concern? Do you know how unfair that is to you? And you never bothered talking to me about it Hils? Come on!"

"You were so swamped into blading and tournaments. I wasn't even part of your life – that's what I felt. But now it seems otherwise." She explained.

"Of course you mean a lot to me! I just don't know how to say this. I can be a jerk, but that doesn't mean I have any signs of hate. I have no reason to hate you! Hate…it's just too strong you know. Yeah, it's true, we didn't get along in the beginning. But things have changed, havent they? And so have we."

Hilary was surprised at his maturity, at his words. "I guess you're right."

Tyson grinned handsomely. Followingly, he yawned aloud.

"Get a nap." She ordered. "Tomorrow's gotta be a big day."

"It will be one." He said firmly. "And…thank you Hilary. Thank you for the gift. Thank you for the concern, and for talking it out with me. I'm glad we could get the gem out of it."

"Couldn't have done it without you." She retorted. "Okay, that's enough. Tyson, you better take a nap before the others barge in. You need good sleep. I won't let you or anyone destroy it."

"Yeah, yeah! Miss bossy!"

They chuckled and drifted off to sleep.
